Unable to cancel printing

Following a paper jam & despite sorting it out easily, the printer doesn't function. I keeps informing me of an error. When I turn the printer off & restart, it simply tells me that I now have 7 errors.I have tried to cancel these but am unable to do so. ( I don't want 7 copies when it finally works! ) Can you please help.Paddy

    Since this printer does not have a physical "Cancel" button, the easiest way of stopping a document print is to clear the document from the Print Queue.
    To remove a document from the print queue manually:
    1. Depending upon your operating system, do one of the following:
    • Windows Vista: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, click Control Panel, and
    then click Printers.
    • Windows XP: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, click Control Panel, and
    then click Printers and Faxes.
    • Windows 2000: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and
    then click Printers.
    2. Double-click the icon for your product to open the print queue.
    3. On the Printer menu, highlight the document, click Cancel or Purge Print Document,
    and then click Yes to confirm.
    Now, if the document has already started printing and you want to stop it before it finishes; then simply lift the top access door which will pause printing. Remove the document from the print queue now. If it is no longer in the print queue, then power off the printer. Wait about 30 seconds and power on the printer again. This should have stopped the document from printing.

    So, your asking about the printer icon on the task bar down  by the clock and not being able to remove or cancel a document in queue?
    If you double click on the printer icon, you should be able to see the document(s) pending.  If your right mouse click on the document you want to cancel and choose "delete"... will that work?
    You don't mention your printer, but we have documents by printer on "Print Jobs stuck in print queue".

    On an hp 2110 psc all in one after changing the black ink cartridge I did the print alignment and following that, the message keeps telling me to do the print alignment over and over.  I have unplugged and waited on power and USB cords and still the same message.   thanks.

    Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you are unable to cancel the print alignment with your HP PSC 2110, and I am happy to help!  Please try the steps within this guide, Press Enter to Align Cartridges, you will want to make sure you are using Genuine HP Ink Cartridges, and that none of your Ink Cartridges are empty or low. (Even though the guide title may not match your issue, I believe the solutions will help.) Hope this helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

    From the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and select Sevices.  Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.  Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
    Restart the computer and you should find the job has been removed.

  • "unable to get printer status" and "server-error-not-accepting-jobs"

    I've got an Intel Mac Pro with Tiger. When I accepted the latest update from Apple, I lost all my defined printers! I've re-added a local USB printer and a networked Laserjet - fine. But I also added a Phaser 850 color printer (networked) which used to work fine. It connects ok, and opens the printer queue window, but when it tries to print, it says "Unable to get printer status (server-error-not-accepting-jobs". The queue stays active (not stopped) but the jobs don't move. I've tried deleting the printer and re-making it - same deal. What's going on?

  • 'unable to send print data' on HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP

    Hi there,
    I'm running an iMac with OSX 10.6.8. Via an USB cable I have attached a HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP to the iMac.
    I also use this printer to print via wifi (i.e. through the iMac) with my MacBook Pro (with OSX 10.7.3).
    Suddenly today the printer stopped working via my MacBook Pro. I get an error message: 'unable to send print data'.
    I have checked my antivirus etc., but that does not appear to be the problem. I have also updated the firmware of the printer, without success.
    Can somebody help me out? Is the OS difference the problem? But until today that hasn't been a problem.

    I understand you lost connection with the network for the Laserjet 1536 through ethernet connection.
    Disconnect the routers power cable, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cable. Wait till it's ready. The router might not be finding the printer on the network.
    If this doesn't resolve the issue continue to the next steps.
    Print a  configuration report from the  LaserJet 1536dnf.
    Press the Setup button, (the one with the wrench on it)
    reports, press OK, Config Report, press OK.
    Check to see if the ip address is valid.
    If you have a valid ip address then delete and add the printer on the mac, the driver might have become corrupted.
    Delete printer on mac.
    Click on the Apple, click System & Preferences,then click the Print & Scan icon (on some systems this may be displayed as Print & Fax),highlight your printer name and click the  button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
    Add printer on the mac.
    Click on the Apple, click System & Preferences, and then click the Print & Scan icon (on some systems this may be displayed as Print & Fax),click add a printer, then select the printer from the list, make sure the printer listed beside use or print: shows proper printer name and not airprint, (airprint is a preinstalled apple driver with basic funtionality if on 10.8) add it in.
    If the ip address is not valid please let me know.

    I understand that you're getting the error 'Unable to add print driver hpfax1, error code 87' when installing your HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer on your Windows 7 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this install issue. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps that you have completed prior to reaching out for support. At this time I am going to walk you through some additional software and driver troubleshooting steps. Please follow all of the steps below.  If you're using your HP Laserjet through a USB Cable connection, please disconnect that cable now.  Step one: Remove Driver: 1. Click on your Start menu 2. Select Control Panel 3. Select Programs and Features 4. When Programs and Features opens a list of programs installed on your computer will populate. Click on the 'Installed ON' tab at the top to change the date so the recently installed items show at the top. This will make it easier to manually locate the three HP Laserjet items you need to uninstall.  5. Next, look for the HP LJ M1530 MFP Series HP Scan, HPLaserJetHelp_LearnCenter, and HP LaserJet Professional M1530 MFP Series. If you see any 3 of these, or all 3 of these items, please click on them and select Uninstall.   Once you have confirmed that those three items have been uninstalled, please close Programs and Features and proceed to the next step.   Step 2: Clear Temp Files:  Click on your Start menuIn the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.Close the Temp folder once it is emptiedRight click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling BinPlease proceed to the next step.    Step 3: Download Installer Package:  Please click here to download the Full Feature Installer package. If you see it listed please right click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'. Next, click on any device listed under 'Printers and Faxes' once just to highlight itClick Print Server Properties at the top of the windowClick on the Drivers tabLook for your HP Laserjet driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottomClick Remove Driver OnlySelect OKSelect Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windowClose Devices and Printers.     than from va02/vao3.
    Can we view preview of a sales order if there is no output type is mapped to

    Go to NACE transaction , from there choose the V1 application,now click on Output types. now see the Output types for print related.
    Now use them for your preview.
    you need to provide Output type  to view the preview
    May be you are missing some configuration(in your case Order type may be Z* so it requires Some Config ).

  • [Solved] CUPS: Unable to write print data: Input/output error

    I'm filling this for the benefit of those poor googlers that can reach here.
    Symptoms: After trying to print a "complex" image the printer made too much breaks, and failed.
    The problem is, it then didn't came up. I mean, I restarted the printer, cupsd, the whole system, and nothing.
    I was unable to print again, it showed "Unable to write print data: Input/output error" and refused to print anything.
    I then saw that in /etc/cups I had printers.conf and printers.conf.O files, which differed (other than in StateTime), that printers.conf.O had
    State Idle
    but printers.conf had:
    State Stopped
    StateMessage Unable to write print data: Input/output error
    Reason paused
    Probably due to the ErrorPolicy being stop-printer.
    So seeing I followed the following steps:
    Stop cups
    Replace printers.conf with printers.conf.O (I could also had manually edited it)
    Start cups
    It then went working flawlessly.
    There was probably an option in the web interface combobox for doing that. The problem is that I didn't realise it was stopped, so didn't know how to make it work. Moreover, some posts in the web recommended reinstalling the printer (which would skip the problem by creating a new printer).

    I think that I had this same problem, and fixed it by reinstalling the printer.  Thank you for your post.

    Hello to everyone:
    I have a network of PC's. As part of their basic install I load on CS3. I have started to incorporate Windows 7 and found the following problem on all of them but not on any of the XP's.
    When my users try to print from Acrobat 8 they receive the following message: "Unable to start print job. I there a printer?".
    This happens when they try to print to only one of our printers, the HP designjet 1055. I have both 32bit and 64bit drivers installed on our print server.
    I did read a post somewhere that the common files in program files might be playing up because there are 2 program files location on windows 7 - but I didn't get any further on that one.
    I'm sure there's a work around for this issue, there has been for the 101 others.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Yes, we have AA8 here that comes with CS3 and for the most part it seem to be working fine. Sure I've had the odd compatibility glitch with getting the 32 app to work on win7 64 but I am stumped with this one printer. I have 7 other normal network printers (not large format) and I can print to those through AA8 fine.
    If windows can see the HP printer and other apps can print to the HP printer but AA8 can't and at the same time AA8 can see and print to all the other printers it makes me think that this is ether a driver compatibility issue or some programmatic issue. Perhaps I need to point something in the registry to something else?

    I'm unable to order prints from iPhoto anymore, it started before the 8.1.1 update. When I start to upload photos to the Kodak server, after 2Mo is transmitted it bugs. In the console I have the following mysterious error :

    I have a PO (with commitment from year 2008) that was created in 2008 and LIV in 2009.
    But was unable to cancel LIV or perform credit memo/subsequent credit in 2009, error message indicating that budget exceed year 2008 appear.
    Is there any way i can proceed to cancel this LIV or do a credit memo?
    I have tried to carry the commitment back from 2009 to 2008, still cannot.
    Appreciate if any expert can advise, thanks!

    If you deactivate availability control then you can spend as much as you want on purchasing. The released budget and budget have no control on spend amount. When you activate the availability control (yearwise) by that time there should be released budget equal to that of spent amount.
    Generally for some projects (specific to particular coding mask) we remove availabity control and for general projects we put it.
