Unable to change outgoing email display name on 9930. Only displays email address to clients

I have tried to change my outgoing email display name to my name but when I delete the email address on username field and input my name it says "not a valid email address". Tried on the Blackberry website with my profile and on my handheld device. Why is this so difficult? I can't send emails to clients as on their end it just shows my email address in the from field and not my full name. My email account name on my Blackberry shows the full name I want to display, but it keeps defaulting to my username, which is my email address. I have a 9930 that is two years old. Thanks.

Thanks for the details! When did this issue start? Is your Blackberry on a Blackberry Enterprise server from your company? Is this an outlook Microsoft Exchange email account? This may help with changing your settings:

• Press the key > Options > Email Account Management.

on the Z10 Whenever I receive an incoming call, the caller ID only shows the phone #, even when I have that number matched to a contact in the phone, even the call log it show the number and not the name. Thank you Arsen but, as with everyone else : (1) When you get an in-coming call, it has no call log on the phone app call log that allows you do a thing under the sun except to touch the number of the last call, and when you do, it CALLS THEM BACK. (2) On every other BlackBerry I have owned, about 10 to-date, I simply selected the last in-coming call and had a button at the bottom of the screen to allow me to ADD TO CONTACTS. (3) This does NOT exist on the Z10, and there certainly is no "Click on number, little slider pops on the right, select add to contact." Instead it dials them. Frustrating other uses have described Arsen. Further, while on the topic : (4) None of this has anything to do with 10-digit national dialing plan or anything else on swipe finger down from top in Phone App, Arsen. (5) When you swipe Phone App down, you see SETTINGS. Then, there are 13 items. I have looked at all 13 items and see nothing as you describe to select, nor any instructions on what to set the SMART DIALING to when there are 3 area codes local for my city and country code shows +1. Further, while on topic here : (6) Visual Voice Mail has been turned-on and whatever visual voice mail is, never supported on any previous BlackBerry including my 9780 before this, I have it with T-Mobile and have it turned on on the BlackBerry Z10 and it too does not work. On the positive side, I do have a work-around for BlackBerry Z10 to 2013 Toyota entune. (7) I first took a vm msg .wav file of just hello (blank will not send) and saved it on BlackBerry Z10. The Toyota entune is LOOKING for a music and will LOCK-UP if none are found. By giving it this, it worked on my 2013 Toyota entune for the 1st time ever. Yeah ! It is a little frustrating every few minutes listening to myself say HELLO. But, hey no one really notices it with all the other stuff going on NAVIGATION, radio, cell phone calls, and all the computerized alerts on 2013 Toyota even without entune. (8) What I did now was to go into Navigation and remove SYNC with MUSIC. I accomplished that after pairing to Z10 to 2013 Toyota, by CANCELLING ALL CONNECTIONS leaving only the pairing itself. Then, you must choose some connections in the pairing section of SET-UP within Navigation itself. If you cannot even get to that point, try depressing on the Navigation Screen, INTERNET at which point it will allow you access to SET-UP when you see the message NO ENTUNE APP FOUND ON YOUR BlackBerry Z10. Red-headed step-child is what we all are. Have to help each other. Arsen I appeciate you helping all of us. Seems the list is about 20 who have voiced it here in this one thread. We voice it for the 200 million BlackBerry users worldwide, all left out in the cold despite a pretty cool Z10 product. Far better than iPhone 5. I chose phone and internet. Internet comes back no BLACKBERRY Z10 TOYOTA ENTUNE APP. But, at least now I don't have to hear the music HELLO and do not also have the BlackBerry Z10 LOCKED-UP with pop up message you have to say OK to 10 million times to clear and never can actually do a thing on the BlackBerry Z10 as a result. Cannot add an in-coming call to Contacts Z10. Cannot see name and number calling me, just the bloody number, no clue who is calling ridiculous. Since I don't have many phone #'s memorized, I have no clue that it is someone I know. However, the contact name is displayed in my call log, just not on the initial incoming call display. Thanks so much! The problem was the security settings. I switched the content protection for "contacts included" to "no" and now my contact info shows up on the incoming call display! Thanks again for your help!

BB Os v. 7.1 - Caller ID for incoming calls NOT displaying name from contacts (only displays phone number)

We realized since bbOS 7.1 update the bb lost the possibility to show the contact from address book associated to the callerID

The previous tread was messed up with similar messages related to devices with the new BB Os v10.
But as far as this seeems to be a Os related issue, there is no sense in mixing

Not sure how the area code rules apply in your area. When you call from your cell to a contact that has their name, does it show you their name when calling out and the call log also has their name. Go into the phone application, swipe down from the top and cehck your smart dialing features for country code, area code and National number length.

Unable to change .Mac apple id name

My apple id name is currently a .mac name & I am unable to edit the apple id name to change to a email address so I can access icloud....

You got it - precisely what I meant. When you kid created her id she was assigned icloud.com e-mail as secondary e-mail to her Google account (her primary user name). Icloud server would not "allow" her to change that secondary. In your case - when you created account - you didn't provide e-mail address, so your icloud.com became your primary. For intents of that, your original email is what makes icloud servers to recognize you for all the services(specifically mail servers), therefore can't be changed. You can create new account with your gmail. You can change that gmail on new account to anything you want(with few exceptions) later, but the address that icloud would assign to your new gmail account (icloud.com) will stay with forever. (unless apple changes something).

How can I customise Thunderbird message columns to show sender raw address (not display name) and the "Received for" email address that was used to reach me?

I find it increasingly important to be able to see a sender's actual email address rather than just display name, as they usually don't show a company name - which a domain always would. Is there a way to customise settings/write a script/tweak files to add raw email & domain name columns? When dealing with a number of people at the same company it is hard to order or glance through a list of emails to find them. I also know 2 people with the same name at different companies and it is impossible to distinguish!
Secondly, as a related column addition, since a number of email aliases reach me it would be useful to have a column to show the "Received..for" part of the message source which reveals the actual email used in the To/CC/BCC which led to me. Again can this be tweaked or scripted?
I have programming experience but have not made add-ons and would be open to a suggestion which involves creating a custom add-on if adding columns with custom values is possible that way.

Extended message headers can be searched from Edit/Find/Search Messages, or the folder context menu, by adding custom headers to the search criteria. So, you might be able to create a search on specific properties of a message.
The method of adding custom headers to searches is the same as the one described here for filters:

How can I change my login user name to my current new email

I need to change mu iCloud user name from my old email to me new one but it won't let me because it is the same as my rescue email address. How do I get around this if it is the only email address I have?

Create another non-Apple email address to use and either use it as your new primary email address, or change the rescue address to the new address and then use the current rescue address as your new primary address.

If I have not entered anything in the 'Display name' field then the message header (i.e. the title of the business card) follows by default the name of the 'Organization'. I wanted to know if it's possible to change this so that the message header of the business card follows the 'Last name' of the person and not the name of the 'Organization'. Thank you!

When I export an email as a PDF it only displays the sender details not the content

I normally export any email I wish to save as a PDF, for some reason a tax receipt I've just received, when exported as PDF, displays only as the sender's details, i.e. name, address, date sent etc.
I've tried saving as RTF and converting but when it converts to PDF it moves the formatting around so figures aren't in one column anymore. Has anyone experienced this and solved it? Thanks.

I'm seeing the same, when I try to export as PDF. It looks like Mail were formatting and scaling the mail like formatted in the Browser Window and all content is on the following pages of the document. So a simple Mail will be spread across several PDF pages.
I get better results when opening the mail in a separate window (⌘O) and then using the "Print" button in the toolbar of the window. Then I can access the settings for the paper size and ensure it is A4 and the paper handling settings and enable "Scale to fit".
Then click the "PDF" button to save to a PDF file.

ESS SAP ERP 2005 - Changes to Biz cards - no edit opt - only display option

Hi Gurus,
I have requirement where the users should not be able to edit their address information of a particular subtype. Like primary address etc. This has to go through the payroll department. What ever. So my requirement is on the Overview screens, the biz card for a particular subtype should not have edit and instead just have the display option. Has any one done this before? Any inputs??
I tried to investigate but I see that the control to create Biz card goes to ESS/PER DC and from there on i went a bit clueless. My not so good Web dynpro programming skills might have also added to my mis adventure.

Is this thread still open ? If yes , you have to have content administration rights.Go to the iView for addresses , ctrl+right click for each field you want to make ineditable and set it to disabled by clicking on the radio button .

HT3924 Target display mode connects but only displays desktop background, no files or command lines

I have connected my early 2014 MacBook to a late 2012 imac and connected them via Thunderbolt cable. Pressing Command F2 causes the screen on teh iMac to change to teh MacBook background screen, but does not display any desktop files or command lines. Any ideas how to fix this?

How do I enable TDM?
Make sure both computers are turned on and awake.
Connect a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort or ThunderBolt cable to each computer.
Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac being used as a display to enable TDM.
Note: In Keyboard System Preferences, if the checkbox is enabled for "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys," the key combination changes to Command-Fn-F2.
Can I use a third-party keyboard or older Apple keyboard to enable TDM?
Some older Apple keyboards and keyboards not made by Apple may not allow Command-F2 to toggle display modes. You should use an aluminum wired or wireless Apple keyboard to toggle TDM on and off.

When I first upgraded to iOS 7 everything was fine now only phone numbers display and I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn things back on and have no idea how I turned them off

Not sure I would have got that one.
Can't say I have seen it before.
Custom in Language and text can mean two things.
1) You have either added things to particular Displays (such as day and Date to the Time display)
2) You can changed something like a Measurement setting from British Imperial to Metric
There are other "tweaks" such as using a Chinese Calendar whilst saying you are in the US.
I have mine set to United States so I can use the AIM SMS "feature" in Messages.

You can keep the original ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match, and use a different ID for iCloud for email, calendar, contacts and bookmarks syncing and PhotoStream.
In iTunesStore>Account you can change the email address associated with the login ID if you with - the actual login doesn't have to be a functioning email address.
This means that iTunes will have a different login to iCloud, but Keychain will take care of this anyway so your won't need to remember which one to use. It's better security to have your iTunes login different from your easily discoverable email address, given the number of complaints about iTunes accounts being hacked.

we customized a workflow for sending alert to some user when someone create a new item in the specified document library.
what we already done as below
1. the email sender address has been setup at "Central Administrator", for example "[email protected]".
2. team site title is "Customer Center Platform".
3. we customized a new workflow to trigger system send a email to recipient when someone create a new record.
what we expected is
Recipient will got a email which send from "[email protected]", the email display name should be "Customer Center Platform [[email protected]]", but in this case, the display name is "[email protected]".
it's been our experience that when we used "Alert Me" function, system will send the email and used "Customer Center Platform [[email protected]]" as email display name.
