Unable to connect to fieldpoint popup message

Hello,
I'm receiving a popup error message which says, "unable to connect to fieldpoint". This error message is extremely infrequent but when the popup appears the program stops updating. I'm trying to run this as a DAQ so this behavior is not acceptable. Is there some way to disable all popup error messages so that if an intermittent error occurs the program will continue running?
Thanks in advance,
Chad Johnson

I'd search for all instances of the Simple Error Handler and make sure that there isn't one where you don't have the "No Dialog" option set.  Also, setting the No Dialog option means the error passes straight through, so if you do have a VI with automatic error handling enabled you could still get a dialog, I think (I haven't tested this).  What is the exact text in the error dialog?  You could search for all instances of the Fieldpoint functions and see what you're doing with the error outputs.  Many error functions provide the full call chain as part of the error text.

    Neil,
I don't use Apple's Mail client (I use MS Outlook) but setting up your Gmail account should be fairly straightforward. Just make certain that you have your settings correct.
For your incoming server, be sure to use the "map.gmail.com" server, using SSL, using port "993" (usually the default).
For your outgoing server, be sure to use the "smtp.gmail.com" server, override the default port and use port "465" and use SSL to connect and make sure that you enter your email address and password to access the SMTP server.
If you've already set up your account with these settings, you may need to Google "gmail setup apple mail" and find the Google document relating to same.
    Good luck,

  • Safari and Chrome "can't connect to webpage" error message

I recently purchased this macbook on the 26th and it was working completely fine the first day. Today i was using my macbook and it was working completely fine, then about 20-30 minutes after turning on and using my macbook webpages failed to load. In safari I would refresh the page and the page would stop loading at about 40%, and when i tried doing using the search bar instead of the URL bar, i would recieve a "Can't connect to server error" saying that safari was unable to connect to Google. On Chrome i tried opening the same page, such as twitter or youtube, and the page would fail to load as well and it would give me the "unable to connect to webpage" error message. Anything connected to the internet won't load as well, such as the app store or even skype. Whenever i restart the computer it begins working fine again, but returns to its previous state after 20-30 mins again. I have tried restarting my router and even connecting to a different router. I have also checked my proxies and nothing is selected. I am just wondering what to do at this moment, should i take my computer in so soon? Or should I give the computer some time to get "broken in."? My macbook is running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

  • Why can I connect to my home network with my iPhone 5 in one room, but when I move to another it is 'unable to connect to the network'

At home, I can connect my iPhone 5 to my home wifi network with no problems, as long as I stay downstairs.
As soon as I go upstairs my phone disconnects from the network. I can still see the home network it in the available network lists (with full signal strength), but when I try to reconnect I get an 'unable to connect to the network message'
If I move back downstairs it reconnects
This has only started happening in the past week or so
I've tried to forget and rejoin the network, but this doesn't work
I reset my network settings on the phone. This worked for a couple of hours and I could connect to the wifi upstairs, but now it won't connect again.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Sounds like your wi-fi signal strength has degraded.  Try rebooting your wi-fi router, or get it serviced.
Do you have similar issues with any other wi-fi routers?

  • Unable to connect to local database

I am running 8.1.7 and iSQL*Plus on one machine (duh). I am able to login to remote databases via isqlplus but cannot seem to login to the very database that was installed in order to get the isqlplus working, the one on the same machine. Do I need to do anything funky with the connect string? I know I am able to connect via regular SQL*Plus (but in that case, no connect string is necessary). All I get it the generic "Unable to connect, please try again" message. Thanks for the help...NOT!

    Robert,
You can either leave the Oracle Connection Identifier field empty, or just enter the SID. Either way, it should connect. Use the same syntax you would in command line SQL*Plus.

  • Unable to connect to local server

    Folks:
When I tried to access an older Mac running Leopard (10.5.8) from my MacBook Pro running Mavericks (Finder: Go: Connect to Server: LocalServer), I was unable to connect and received a message,
'There was a problem connecting to the server "LocalServer".  The server may not exist or is unavailable at this time.  Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
I tried deleting any keychain refrerence to local computer.
I tried deleting the list of recent servers from the Finder.
I tried restarting both my laptop and the local server.
    Nothing,
There is a local server icon under the "Shared" section of the sidebar of the Finder browsing window.  I can find no way to delete this listing.
I can access the the Mavericks MBP from the old Leopard server via remote login, but I was unable access the old Leopard server from the new Mavericks running MBP.
    I finally achiveved access by
    1) Turning on SMB sharing for my account on the local server
System Preferences: Sharing: File Sharing: Options: SMB Sharing: MyAccount then storing my password.
    2) On my MBP, connecting via smb.
Finder: Go: Connect to Server: [Enter smb://Localserver.local]
It finally worked, BUT … after successfully connecting to the local server, I now have TWO listings for Localserver in my Finder browser window, the live link and the old link which still says "Connecting."
I can't figure out how to get rid of the earlier afp link, OR how to make it work.  I would prefer to use AFP as the SMB notation from both computers indicates that the storage of my password is not as secure.
    Restaring the computer doesn't help.
I had a similiar problem when I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and I tried many of the same tricks to no avail.  That problem seems to have fixed itself.
    Anybody have any bright ideas?
    Thanks much.

I should have been more clear. This is on an 8-core Intel XServe.
I was able to use Server Admin locally on the machine for weeks. Now I can't. Nothing has changed or been altered on the machine during that period.
I can not connect to the server via Server Admin remotely or locally. I can connect via SSH, ARD, etc. and the system is still serving NFS just fine, so it's just the process that handles communication with Server Admin that is non responsive.
    Something interesting from the syslog:
    qt1 servermgrd[44258]: servermgr_accounts: noteDirectorySearchPolicyChanged (reopening nodes)
    qt1 servermgrd[44258]: -[AccountsRequestHandler(AccountsOpenDirectoryHelpers) openLocalLDAPNodeIfNeeded]: dsLocalLDAP = (null) , error = Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=2000 UserInfo=0x1066a16c0 "Unable to open Directory node with name /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1."
qt1 DirectoryService[31]: DirectoryService has 42000 internal references open (due to clients), warning limit is 2000.
These lines repeated apprx. every 30 secs until I bounced the servermgrd. Now, I see that entry whenever I try to connect to the local server via Server Admin.
Now, this system is not a LDAP server, but I understand OSXS still uses LDAP for local directory info... I've tried restarting the related directory services as well, but still no joy.
It looks like my only recourse is a reboot, which is really not a great option for a dedicated file server. Am I the only one who has ever encountered this issue of Server Admin eventually losing contact with a server?

  • There was a problem connecting to the server message - displayed when pressing printer email address

HP Photosmart B210, Windows 7...was able to print from iphone yesterday but now will not print. One the face of the printer if the ePrint symbol is pressed for the printer address the message "there was a problem connecting to the server" appears. I can find the device with my phone and on my computer. I can print from the computer but not phone

I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful and you get same error message. I would follow these steps.
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.

  • There was a problem connecting to the server message

I have started to get the following message when I run Final Cut Pro X There was a problem connecting to the server “soundmedia”
The “sound media” server is a PC running windows XP and is switched off.
I closed all libraries & set up a new library - with nothing in it. There was a problem connecting to the server “soundmedia” still appears. when "ok" is clicked the message clears then reappears 10-15 sec later.
    I have tried the following:
Cleared recent servers in Finder ie
Finder, Go, Connect to Server, then Click on the little clock in “connect to server window” then click clear recent servers.
    Deleted FCPX preferences by:
press and hold Option + Cmd while launching FCP X from the Dock. A dialog appears asking if you want to trash Final Cut’s preference files. Clicked Delete
Deleted all FCPX entries in OS X/ Library/Preferences  & deleted all entries in Trash before reloading FCPX
    Repaired permissions on system disc
Created  a new user.  “There was a problem connecting to the server “soundmedia” has not reappear on the new user.
If I switch on the soundmedia server & click “ok” the message disappears (when I am logged in
    to my original account.)
I am the only user on this iMac, something must be wrong with my user account. Any ideas
what it might be? Has anyone got a software patch that can be loaded to prevent the message
from constantly reappearing? Once acknowledged it surely shouldn’t keep reappearing.
It is a nuisance and a waste of energy having to have a server which is not required powered
up just so the message does not reappear.

  • Unable to connect to router

Last night I was watching some random video on youtube on my laptop when suddenly I lost my signal. This happens often when I stream multiple videos, usually just an unplug and replug of the router's power cord does the trick. Didn't work this time. Annoyed, I tried to reinstall my router for a fix (is usually my last resort) but at the part where it tries to find the router I get this "Unable to connect to router!" message. I can still seem to connect to the internet with the router on the desktop, but my laptop doesn't even read my wireless. Pinging the router I get time outs, IPconfig gives me a 71.59. instead of a 192.168. I can't connect to the router configuration through 192.168.1.1 at all. I tried unplugging absolutely everything and reseting the router but I'm still stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hard reset router for 1 minute and reboot it. Check if IP address is 192.168.1.xxx or not.

  • When sent reviews, repeatedly getting "unable to connect to review server" msg

My company is now using Acrobat's review tools for document signoff. However, 80% of the time I get the "unable to connect to review server" message, even when I'm opening the document from the server itself. As a result, I am unable to participate in the dynamic review process.
Can anyone suggest any solutions that will allow me to avoid this issue? Our IT department is stumped because I do have access to the server, always make sure that I'm logged in before opening the document from any attachment, and even open the review documents directly from the server. I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Help!

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for the suggestion but we're not using the Acrobat.com server. We have instead elected to host review documents on our own internal server (we deal with government contracts and our internal compliance rules don't permit hosting such documents on outside servers). Because of that, I thought this was an Acrobat application issue, not an Acrobat.com server issue.
