Unable to connect to Gateway Name Server while config Siebel Server

I installed Siebel 8.1.1.11.0 on RHEL 32-bit. I did configuration as following.
Install 32-bit Oracle Client and config TNS.
Install and config Gateway and Enterprise.
Install Siebel Database.
Use stop_ns, start_ns and list_ns to restart and ensure Gateway running.
Run CreateSiebSrvrEnvScript to generate Env file.
Modify /siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/siebsrvr/siebenv.sh. Change ODBCINI=/siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/gtwysrvr/sys/.odbc.ini.
Source siebenv.sh.
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1/lib
Config Siebel Server. While enter info of Gateway, enter SADMIN as account, rhel (configed in /etc/sysconfig) as host name and port = 2320. Then it prompt "Unable to connect to the Siebel Gateway Name Server".
Any step missing to config it?
Thanks

The siebenv.sh file located in the Gateway directory from a 8.1.1.11 installation doesn't have the enviromentt variable SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB, which i do have in the siebenv.sh from my 8.1.1.0 installation. Add the following line to the siebenv.sh located in the gateway directory (/siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/gtwysrvr in my installation):
SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB=ORACLE; export SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB
Be sure that this variable is set BEFORE you start the gateway and everything should work.
PS- You also need the Oracle enviroment varibles set before you start the gateway. ORACLE_HOME should be pointing to your 32bit client.
Cheers!

  • C7 Social: Unable to connect to Gateway!!!

    Hello All,
    When i'm trying to use Social client in C7 getting the message "Unable to connect to Gateway".  It was working fine for some days. Any idea why this issue is occurring?? How to overcome from this??
    Thanks,
    Abhilash.

    Hi,
    Please clarify me the following.
    You specified the login name as 'SADMIN'. Is this the login id, that you used for your Operating System? "Entered name account authentication gateway server name" expects you to enter the NT login, not the DB login.
    You may also expected to specify your network name, if your login id is specific to a network. e.g Oracle\Rajkumar assuming that Oracle is your network and Rajkumar is the user name.
    You may not expected to have the DSN created, as Gateway may not be interested in knowing which DB you are connected to. And you neither enter the 'DB name' anywhere in the 'Gateway Server Configuration', if my understanding is right.
    Please confirm.

  • Netlet fails: "Unable to connect to Gateway: default:443"

    i have installed the portal 3.0 sp4, MAP and HP for sp4.
    when using netlet, it tells me: "Unable to connect to Gateway: default:443"
    the platform.conf file contains the right gateway name.
    why does the netlet uses default:443 instead of the right gateway name and port?
    thnx, thomas

    after reinstalling the server and the gateway, i face the same problem again, but i found out, that the error only occurs when the anonymous desktop is enabled.
    logging in using ldap authentication, everything works; but logging in, using the anonymous desktop, and then loging in at the login-chanel using ldap-authentication, the error occurs, when using Netlet.
    looking at the install logs, i found out that the sp4 wasn't able to update the "iwtGateway-netletproxy-port" and the "iwtNaming-sessionURL" attributes;
    could one of this be respobsible for the failure ?
    has anyone an idea, how to solve the problem ?
    thnx, thomas

    Issue with Netlet.
    Trying to define the following rule so non-browser application can do
    http requests over secure tunnel:

    (where <host> is the relevant webserver)
    Getting the following error:

    It seems that this problem is stemming from the variable "WT.gateway"

  • Unable to connect to gateway

    Greetings,
    2 physical servers db1 and db2.
    Installed OVM 3.2.1 on both and VM Manager on a WLS server.
    Discovered both OVM installation and was able to create 1 vm guest each. gdb1 and gdb2
    I am able to connect to my gateway 192.168.4.1 from the OVM host but not from either of my vm guests.
    In the network there is also a SAN, which can be reached on a 192.168.128.0/24 network.
    With gdb1 I am able to connect to the SAN management ports. (ping 192.168.128.101)
    Al my VNICS are bridged to 1 physical NIC.
    But I am unable to connect (ping) from my guest to any 192.168.4.0 addresses.

    Hi,
    You wrote that you connect to the SAP uddi:
    Service Registry (UDDI Service)
    Server Name:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
    sr.esworkplace.sap.com is not on your home pc. Its a SAP public uddi.
    If you want to connect to your own pc than your configuration would be sompething like this:
    Server Name:localhost
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
    And you shouldn't use this login data
    login/pwd: sruser
    password: eswork123

  • "unable to connect to the data access service" installing report server

    Trying to do a 2 server SCOM 2012 R2 install on Server 2012 w/SQL 2012.  Management server and operations console on one, and SQL, web console, and reporting server on the other.  When I get to the web console and reporting server install, and
    the "Specify Management Server" screen, I input the 1st management server name and it gives me a red X with the message:
    "Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server. Ensure the Data Access service is running and that the service, the management group, and setup are all the same version."
    Here is the setup log error:
    "Info: :Could not connect to Management Server: scom-app with exception: Threw Exception.Type: System.ArgumentException, Exception Error Code: 0x80070057, Exception.Message: Version string portion was too short or
    too long."
    I don't see the "Data Access" service in services on either server.  I followed all of the setup prereqs in SCOM 2012 unleashed book, and also referenced this article for setup advice:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2013/01/16/opsmgr-2012-sp1-quickstart-deployment-guide.aspx
    Everything seems to be working until I get to this point.
    Thank you for any help you can provide,
    Dan

    Hi Tom,
    1. Did the setup complete successfully on the MS and Console server?
    >>>Yes, without issue
    2. You do not see the service "System Center Data Access Service"
    >>>I do indeed see it on the MS and Console server, it is set to Auto and running.  (I also tried rebooting this server and retried, no help)
    3. Is the Windows Firewall enabled?
    >>>It has symantec endpoint protection.  I disabled symantec completely on both servers and retried, no help.
    Thx,
    Dan

  • Unable to connect FR studio from local desktop to HFR server

    Hi Gurus,
    I have installed HFR on client server and able to connect studio with server.
    When i tried to connect from local desktop to HFR server, I am unable to connect to the HFR server.
    error as " You are not authroized to this functionality, please contact your administrator.
    Hyperion: 11.1.2.1
    database: 11.2.0.2
    changed the ports while configuring.
    for FR given as 8010 and RA framework given as 8020.ports are opened.
    please let me know your suggestions to resolve this. am i missing something?
    Thanks!

    "You Are Not Authorized To Use This Functionality" Error Occurs When Logging On To Financial Reporting Studio From Workstation [ID 1319745.1]
    You are trying to log into the Financial Reporting Studio from with a properly provisioned user ID (including administrator IDs), but you get an error: "You are not authorized for this functionality."
    Cause
    The Financial Reporting (FR) Report Server box has multiple Network Interface Cards (NICs), and the one used by the Report Server is listed second in the binding order.
    When a connection is requested of the FR Server from the FR Studio, the server returns an IP address to the Studio client. The server will, by design, return the first IP listed in the Server Network Interface's bind order. If this first IP is not the one associated with the FR Report Server, the FR Studio login error will result.
    Solution
    1. Review the Microsoft HELP menu on the FR Report Server for information on changing the bind order of the Network Interface Cards.
    2. Change the binding order of the primary NIC on the FR Report Server box so that the FR Report Server IP address is 1st in the bind order.
    3. Reboot the FR Report Server Box.
    Alternately, if it is not necessary to have multiple NICs active on the server, you can disable all but the one used by the FR Report Service.

  • Unable to connect to Internet via Airport Express - 'cannot contact server'

    I'm unable to connect to the internet via my Airport Express. I'm using OS 10.3.9, and had the same setup with no problems at a previous address, but with a different modem from the same ISP.
    My AE is connected - the light is green - and my mac is connected to the network in Internet Connect. But when I open Safari I get an 'unable to contact server' message.
    I've tried rebooting everything (modem, AE, Mac), and leaving modem/AE off for several minutes. Also reset the AE, but to no avail.
    The connection works fine via Ethernet cable.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks, I checked out that advice doc (106798), but could not connect to the address (http://17.149.160.49) which is given to test if it's a DNS issue. My ISP says I shouldn't need DNS settings.
    The service is PPPoE, and I went into Airport Admin Utility to check if the Airport was configured for this. Under Configure/Internet, I found it was set to 'Ethernet', so changed it to PPPoE. Then when I restarted I got connection status in the bar (and good Airport signal), but status flipped between 'looking for PPPoE host' and 'negotiating PPPoE host', sometimes sticking on one or the other each time I tried rebooting all gear.
    Any other ideas?

  • TS1398 iPad unable to connect to Wi-Fi...while my other devices connect fine...any suggestions?

    My iPad can no longer connect to Wi-Fi (anywhere)...at home, I get a message that says "Cannot scan for networks" -- and at my office...I get a message that says "Unable to join the network".  Other mobile devices are connecting fine at both home and office.  Any suggestions?

    iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Hi All,
    We are facing a very basic problem of failing in connecting to an external API URL call from siebel server.
    We are able to access the same URL from Internet explorer on the server.
    what can be the issue. kindly help?
    Regards,

    what siebel component is trying to make the call to the external server?
    nature of the call? SOAP, HTTP GET, POST?
    What if any error does Siebel return?
    I assume the server in windows since you mention connecting from IE on server works.

    Problem*
    I'm trying the use the native ODBC 5.2 Data Direct driver to connect the the data source.
    I've gone through and completed the 9 steps of the 'Connecting to an ODBC Data Source' chapter in Informatica on our Solaris Unix box.
    I've made the following changes to the *.profile*
    # ODBC HOME
    ODBC_HOME=/oracle/Informatica/PowerCenter8.6.0/ODBC5.2
    export ODBC_HOME
    ODBC_INI=/oracle/Informatica/PowerCenter8.6.0/ODBC5.2/odbc.ini
    export ODBC_INI
    PATH=${PATH}:$ODBC_HOME/bin
    export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:$ODBCHOME/lib
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    I've also made changes to the odbc.ini file as suggested:
    [MSS_DB]
    Driver=/oracle/Informatica/PowerCenter8.6.0/ODBC5.2/lib/DWmsss22.so
    Description=DataDirect 5.2 SQL Server Wire Protocol
    Address=MssServer.xxx.co.uk,1433
    AlternateServers=
    AnsiNPW=Yes
    ConnectionRetryCount=0
    ConnectionRetryDelay=3
    Database=MIS_Report_DB
    LoadBalancing=0
    LogonID=myuser
    Password=mypwd
    QuotedId=No
    ReportCodePageConversionErrors=0
    InstallDir=/oracle/Informatica/PowerCenter8.6.0/ODBC5.2
    I've created the Connection--> Relational --> ODBC connection on Workflow Manager
    I've specified the username/pwd and connect string MssServer.xxx.co.uk@MIS_Report_DB. I've called it exactly the same as MSS_DB specified in the odbc.ini
    When I run the workflow. It fails but doesn't throw up any error/error code in the session log. The last 3 lines of the Session Log below and then it just bombs out within 5 secs.
    PETL_24006 : Starting data movement.
    TM_6660 : Total Buffer Pool size is 4234808 bytes and Block size is 468312 bytes.
    DBG_21438 : Reader: Source is [MssServer.xxx.co.uk], user [myuser]
    If you ping from the Unix server it says 'MssServer.xxx.co.uk is alive'
    Can anyone suggest what we need to do different or spot something obvious?

    but still there is a problemYou have root as owner of subdirectories (e.g. OraInstall2009-05-27_02-38-48PM) and not oracle:
    - do you install as root now?
    - or make the directories writable for oracle, too.The write flag is missing (something like chmod -R a+w OraInstall2009-05-27_02-38-48PM)

  • Unable to connect to Mac clients from Mac OS X Server

    Recently I have installed an OS X 10.4.10 Server to an customer of mine. The server was configured at my home office before I installed it to the customer. Filesharing,Firewall and VPN is running on the server and everything works fine. My odd "problem" is when I browse for other macs on the network, from the server, I cant find any. All I get is alias of filesharing macs at my home network. I cleaned the cash etc etc nothing works. If I boot in Safe boot I get listed all filesharing Macs at the office network, but then of course the server OS will not run. Yesterday I checked other customers who run OS X Server and some get hold of clients on the network, other not. Any idea ???

    Thank you for your reply. I will like to know if you can use Visual Studio. In visual studio there is what we called Server Explorer and from there you can create connection and access all the database server from there. I am able to connect to the Oracle XE through the browser and I was able to crete table and other stuffs like that but when I tried to connect from Visual Studio 2008, I get the 12560 Error. I checked my TNSNAMES and found this:
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = OLAMMIE)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
    ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = CLRExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
    Look at what I have in my Sqlnet.Ora file,
    # This file is actually generated by netca. But if customers choose to
    # install "Software Only", this file wont exist and without the native
    # authentication, they will not be able to connect to the database on NT.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)
    Please kindly help me out of this as it is very urgent. I can connect from browser using http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex but cannot connect from my C# code and Server Explorer. What is likely to cause this error.
    Thank you for helping me in advance.
