Unable to consume a webservice running on the local host (127.0.0.1)

Hi,
i've been trying to consume a webservice which I am hosting locally on my machine. I'm using Tomcat as the application server along with Apache axis as the web service container.
I am unable to add my webservice as a data source using the "Define Web service system..." tool. Each time I try to add the webservice, I get the error that the web service URL is invalid. The URL I am using is http://localhost:8080/axis/EchoHeaders.jws?wsdl.
At first, I thought this may have something to do with my proxy settings, but I've configured the proxies correctly and am able to access external webservices. Also, it does seem to send a request to the web service servlet, i.e. it is able to find the URL - I know this because i've got a listener setup locally inside the tomcat servlet which receives the URL GET request.
Has anyone come across any problems while trying to consume webservices offered using apache tomcat and axis or could this be because I am running the web service on the same host as visual composer and using localhost in the URL? I've tried replacing localhost with my machine name, with 127.0.0.1 and with my IP address, but it doesn't seem to help.
I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks and Regards,
Amrish

Hi Mario,
what do you mean by authorizations? The web service itself does not require any username or password. Also, I am able to consume the web service using a simple flex application (not integrated inside Visual Composer) without the need for supplying a username or password.
Cheers,
Amrish

You can write that image in a binary format using OutputStream for System.out and then read it in your applet.

  • Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)

I am having an issue retrieving on a SmartView grid running 11.1.2.2.309.01 and SmartView 11.1.2.2.102.I have a grid with three attribute dimension and, at first it was long running and gave me a netretry netinterval error. I shared with my administrator and, they gave me the registry updates to increase my timeout for my default browser. Now, I try to retrieve the same sheet and after approximately five minutes, I get the message, "Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)". I am not sure what this means. I can retrieve on other grids with one attribute dimension or a regular retrieve but, for some reason, I notice when I retrieve on multiple attribute dimensions, I am having this issue. I had this tested with others and, they are experiencing the same result. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance

The timeout was updated to 7 minutes but, the timeout on the APS was never updated. What happened was there was a 7,000 member dimension where attributes where being used to build a retrieve. The attributes were what was causing the issue. Not to say you should not use attributes. Ultimately, an alternate hierarchy in the 7,000 member dimension will  help but, I used other members to get the results I need. I just never saw the error message before and, did not see it in oracle support.. Thanks.

  • Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"

    Hi,
    EPM version: EPM 11.1.2.1
When we are using Zoom In Level as All Levels and tring to drill down for dimention of HFM application we are getting below error.
Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"
As we found some solution from comunity , we have performed below workaround but still we are getting same error.
    ·              We have done the changes in mod_wl_ohs.conf file of OHS  with (WLIOTimeoutSecs 3600 and WLIOSocketTimeoutSecs 3600)
    ·              And then restarted OHS and  APS service but still we found same error.
Could anyone please suggest ,where can we trace its log from web server and the solution for this issue?
         Thanks,
             D.N. Rana

    Hi,
We have already performed the changes for APS in OHS as mentioned in the solution and the path also same as under OHS.
Intially we were getting error for "to increase netRetryCould and NetRetryInterval"  as a solution we have added below 3  registry DWORD keys under  path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    "KeepAliveTimeout"=dword:00180000                   (26 Minutes)
    "ReceiveTimeout"=dword:00dbba00                      (240 Minutes)
    "ServerInfoTimeout"=dword:00180000                  (26 Minutes)
Above error resolved but then we received Error"12031"
Now we have added above 3 DWORD keys under path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
and now we are not getting the  error "12031".
But here we are not getting how it(LB issue) resolved with above solution?
    Thanks,

Since Windows system uses separated user mode and kernel mode memory space, stop errors are always caused by kernel portion components, such as a third-party device drivers, backup software or anti-virus services (buggy services).
The system goes to a BSOD because there is some exceptions happened in the kernel (either the device driver errors or the service errors), and Windows implements this mechanism: When it detects some errors occur in the kernel, it will kill the box in case
some more severe damage happens. Then we get a blue screen or the system reboots (it depends on what the system settings are).
To troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue, we need to debug the crashed system dump. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum. A suggestion would be to contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that
a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. Please be advised that contacting phone support will be a charged call.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below:
    Microsoft - Help and Support
If you are outside the US please see
Microsoft Worldwide Home for regional support phone numbers.
Meantime we can try some available steps as a general troubleshoot.
    1. Please remove the antivirus and run the system with a period. If the issue does not occur, mainly focus on antivirus settings and compatibility.
    2. Disable Automatic Restart and see detail information on the blue screen.
1).Click Start, in the Start Search box enter sysdm.cpl.
2).Click the tab Advanced. Under Startup and Recovery, click the Settings button.
    3). Uncheck “Automatically restart”.
4). On the drop-down menu “Write debugging information”, choose “Small memory dump”.
    5). Click OK.
When Blue Screen displays, you may find some useful information.

  • How can I discover the MBeans in the JVMs in the local host?

I'm new to the JMX world and am trying to figure out how to get my JMX client to discover the MBeanServers in the local host, just like jconsole does.
In more detail, I have a JMX client running in machineA that I want to use to talk to MBeans in 4 other JVMs also running in machineA. I can get the system to work if I use the -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote and -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port options specifying an RMI port for access. However, I would like to have it work the same way it does with jconsole, where only the -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote flag is necessary and it seems to automagically discover all the MBeanServers in the local machine.
I've waded through a few tutorials, the API and searched this forum but could not find any hints on how to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    - Alex

    Hi,
JConsole uses the attach API to connect to the platform MBeanServer of a local java process.
See the ConnectionArgs class shown here for an example of using the Attach API:

Download TextWrangler, choose Open File by Name from the File menu, provide /private/etc/hosts as the path, and enter them using the same format as the 127.0.0.1 line.

    Rick,
Thanks for the quick response. I used the SQL Workshop, script upload function (in Apex) to upload a package that I wrapped on my pc (Windows 7) using the wrap command line utility (11g). It uploaded fine but when I tried to run it, it returned a message like "Wrapped code is invalid or corrupted". This was not what I would have expected since I know you can import/export wrapped code between systems (different OS) without issue. Perhaps the command line wrap is OS specific and the import/export is doing some kind of translation?
Anyway, I know you cannot use the command line option directly in the cloud because, as you say, you don't have access to the command line. DBMS_DDL is too tedious to use and has the 32K limit and unfortunately, there is no command like, "Alter package body xxx compile wrapped". So that leaves using the SQL Developer Cart option to move wrapped code from a local db to the cloud db. Unfortunately, I'm still having roles and permissions issues with my account which Oracle Support hasn't been able to fix over the last few weeks so I can't try this option (or even login using SQL Dev). Has anyone tried to do this? Does anyone know of another way to do this that I'm not thinking of?
    Thanks,

  • Unable to consume a webservice

    Hello friends,
I created a small Enterprise service in one of our test system. I tested the Enterprise Service using Transaction 'SPROXY' and it works.
I then created the 'runtime configuration' for this Enterprise Service through SOAMANGER. Here I created the 'Service' and the 'Endpoint' under the configurations tab.
However, on testing the Service using the 'Web Services' Navigator tool, I get the following error:
RemoteException: Unable to connect to 'Server details here' - Connection refused: connect
What could be wrong ? Please note that I have not published the Service (I do not have have the authorizations to read/update the Service Registry). Is it mandatory to publish the service to consume it ?
Thanks in advance for your pointers.
    With Best Regards,
    Senthil G

    Hello Senthil,
I dont think it is necessary to publish the service into the registry for testing it from the Web Services Navigator tool
However, after creating the service/endpoint from the SOAMANAGER, you might have given the user id /password for the service/endpoint details.
I guess you might be facing a problem with authorization associated with that details. Please check out.
    Thnks

  • Communication between jvms running on the same host

    Hi,
which alternatives do i have? I can just think of client-server communication

Using Datasocket would be one easy way of handling this. If you want to, you could also go a bit lower and use the TCP functions (that's what DS uses) to do this yourself (assign each program a port to listen at and communicate between those programs). Search the example finder for "TCP" to see some examples. You will then just need to come up with a way to determine which program is the one using equipment. You could probably run another program which would decide (any of the programs can check if it's running when it starts and if not run it).
The program would always listen on a specific port and another program would only have access to the device if it managed to open a connection to the listener and get the answer that it is allowed.
Try to take over the world!

  • Unable to connect to a computer in the local network

I've set up an older notebook as a server, connected via WiFi, will be called "server" in this text. Then I have my normal work notebook, called "notebook" in this text.
Both the server and the notebook are connected to the router. The server has additionally a no-ip.org domain.
server ip: 192.168.1.14, notebook ip: 192.168.1.15, router ip: 192.168.1.1
Now just after rebooting and after resetting the wifi connection, I can ping and ssh the server from the notebook.
After some time though something strange happens...
I can't connect to the server from my notebook, neither through the mDNS address nor through 192.168.1.14, all I get is "ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.14 port 22: No route to host".
But if I ssh to the server from my notebook via the no-ip.org domain, it works perfect.
I can then ping 192.168.1.1 from both the server and the notebook, but I can neither ping 192.168.1.15 from the server nor 192.168.1.14 from the notebook...
They lose each others ARP entries, too.
What might the reason for this strange behaviour be?
Where's the problem? SSH config? Server config? Router config?
    What I tried until now:
    - Letting the server regularly restart its network connection - it seems to help sometimes, but not "forever". Additionally it's a terrible solution.
    - Letting the server regularly restart avahi-daemon: Oddly enough using that both servers have each others mDNS and MAC-Addresses all the time, but still aren't able to connect.
-Letting the server regularly ping the router: Well, that didn't help either. That just works anyway.

ok, i suppose, you haven't configured the plugins, yet.
otherwise you should see something like this:
No. Protocol           Service Name/Port    Host Name             Timeout Activ  Ext.Bind
    1  HTTP         <b>8080</b>                <host>      60  X

  • Load balancing on the local host only (6.40 Java)

    Hello!
When configuring load balancing for Web AS 6.20 (Java), the property "LocalLoadBalancing" was available in the ServiceManager of the dispatcher. See Note 772561.
This property is not available in Web AS 6.40 (SP14).
How can I now ensure that a dispatcher does not connect to a server process on another physical server?
    // Mikael

    Hi Mikael,
In Web AS 6.40 this property is invalidated by the new <b>instance-based</b> cluster concept. In other words, when installing a Web AS 6.40 system you're installing instances (i.e. one central services instance, one java central instance, and 1-n dialog instances). A Web AS 6.40 instance contains one dispatcher and 1-n servers. The installation software (SAPinst) lets you install an instance on the same physical host only. Therefore, in 6.40 all servers that are behind the J2EE dispatcher are <b>always</b> on the same physical machine => the behavior of the LocalLoadBalancing property.
In 6.20, the installable unit is a dispatcher/server, and you can choose to distribute them to different physical hosts => the need to have the LocalLoadBalancing property to control remote/local LB.
Hope this explains things a bit.
P.S. In case you need more info about the cluster architecture of the Web AS Java 6.40, you can have a look <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/611724f410254ca12a3f396ec5ae85/frameset.htm">here</a>.
