Are you using a previously configured datasource to create the application?
Perhaps, try with a new data source..

  • Unable to open Planning application  through Workspace

    Hi All,
    I have Installed and configured the Hyperion products in the following Order
    ->Foundation services
    ->Essbase server
    ->Essbase Administration service
    ->Planning
    ->Reporting and Analysis
    ->Workspace
    We know that workspace is a single user interface.
    After configuring, I tried to open the Planning Application through workspace but I could not able to find "*Classic Application Administration*" under Administer option of Navigate menu Kindly guide me.
    Thanks and Regards
    chiDam

    You don't need to start downloading weblogic.
    Usually the issue is that either the web server has not been configured (this is not weblogic) or the permissions are not correct in shared services e.g. the hss roles of application creator, dimension editor.
    You can always try going to create a planning application directly first http://<planningmachine>:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp

    Hi John,
    I am facing the same issue. Reconfiguring Web server did not help. It is still not coming up and the link to planning that you have shared here is also not working. I am doing it on RHEL and facing issue with the same. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I checked the mod_jk log which has the following:

  • Unable to create Database for new planning Application

    Hi all,
    I have Created a New planning application on Planning 11.1.1.3 using workspace.
    When i'm trying to create a database through administration -> Manage Database , im getting error saying
    com.hyperion.planning.planning.HspCubeRefreshInProgressException: Cannot complete your request because the database is being refreshed.
    I tried Unlocking the application, using HspUnlockApp.cmd and it is returning a error, and im also unable find the HSP_LOCK Table
    Please let me know ur suggestions
    Thanks in Advance
    Edited by: Rao on Aug 8, 2010 8:57 PM

    Hi,
    There is definitely a table called HSP_LOCK in the planning applications repository, are you sure you are looking in the correct place.
    Anyway there is also a utility (HspUnlockApp) in the \planning\bin directory that should unlock the app and will save you having to mess around with any tables, more details :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hp_admin/ch04s02.html

  • I'm not able to see Planning Application in Planning Webclient

    Hi,
    I have created a Classic Planning Application in WorkSpace successfully and I'm able to see the same application after Refreshing application in EAS Console.
    I have done necessary steps registering application with the shared services and I'm able to see that application in shared services project also. But I'm trying to access this application through Planning URL I'm not able to see Planning Application in Drop down list.
    Could anyone suggest me what could be the problem for this?
    We are using HYperion Planning Fusion Edition 11.1.1.2 Version.
    Thanks,
    Suresh.

    So you have created a planning application and it was succesful, you go directly to planning and don't see it in the dropdown?
    If so when you created the application what instance you set it against, if you have more than one instance and you have it against the non active instance you won't see the planning application in the drop down.
    Cheers

  • Unable to create data source for planning via workspace

    I have installed the following products in Hyperion 11.1.2
    - Foundation
    - Essbase, EAS
    - Planning
    - Reporting & Analysis
    However, when I log in to Workspace (http://server:19000/workspace, I only see the following menu options under Navigate -> Administer
    -Shared Services Console
    -Workspace Server Settings
    -Manage preferences
    There is another menu item Navigate->Open Items which is grayed out.
    I am able to create the Planning application via http://server:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp url but unable to do that via workspace.
    Any help regarding why I do not see the other menu options under Navigate->Administer would be highly appreciated.

    Try running the configurator again and go through "Foundation > Configure web server", I would then restart the services in the correct order and see if that helps.

  • Extracting Dimension from Planning Application through EPMA File Generator

    Hi,
    I have a EPMA planning application (in version 11.1.1.2) and I want to extract its dimensions in to a ads file. I am using EPMA File Generator 9.3.1 for the purpose.
    I am selecting the "From Planning Application" tab and entering all the required details, but when I execute... I get error "Unable to get metadata. Please check the web URL, application name, and application server."
    I checked the web URL which is:
    http://<server name>:8300/HyperionPlanning
    and my application name & server are also correct...
    Please help me to find out what exactly is going wrong here...
    Thanks & Regards,
    AK

    Why are you using 9.3.1 version, is there not a newer version in \Hyperion\products\Foundation\BPMA\EPMAFileGenerator\
    Also if it an EPMA application you can use the EPMA tab to generate the ADS.
    Cheers

  • Problem in Logging in to planning application in planning desktop

    Dear Gurus,
    Today morning I have added the new MSAD, which was previously configured with another IP. I am able to see all the users in the domain. I have given provision to one admin user, opened the Planning desktop and changed the DCOM settings as needed, but the system is not opening the planning application.
    I need to open the application so as to refresh the security filters, which I am not being able to do.
    I am not able to login to Planning Web with the same user.
    I am using 9.2 planning and 9.0 shared services. please suggest accordingly.
    Thanks in advance,

    Dear John thank you very much for response.
    Domain server have been moved to another location, so IP has changed, I have updated the new IP in the shared services for the same.
    Application owner is in the same domain users list. I just updated the DCOM settings.
    Thanks

  • Unable to download any applications through BB App World

    Hi!!
    I have been facing a problem on the BB App World front. Each time I try to download any application through the BB App World it takes me to the Download tab in green but after I click the tab nothing happens.
    As a result I am unable to download any application on my Blackberry.
    Please help me resolve the issue.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
    3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
    3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
    KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    6. Return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes).
    If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
    Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • Unable to create FDM application

    Hi Gurus,
    While creating FDM application receiving error as "Database User id and password is required for login".
    There is firewall between FDM server and SQL server and the SQL port number is different instead of 1433. Also we have SQL instance.
    I have configured SS, FR and workspace successfully, but unable to create FDM app.
    All products are in the same server.
    Provided the SQL db information as:
    db servername\sql instance name
    database name
    db username and password.
    Receiving the above error message on both workbench and web.
    Please provide some solution for this issue, its urgent.
    Regards,
    Kamal

    If you use a UDL file on the FDM application server with the same information provided in the application creation screen can you successfully connect to the SQL Server database?
    If it is running on another port other than 1433 you will need to specify the port in the servername field:
    servername\instance,port

    Hi Benjamin,
    If you're getting a Null Value error anywhere, that means a variable you're referencing isn't set to anything. If you're getting that try echoing out each variable after it's assigned to see if it's set to anything.
    The link you are referring is for SharePoint 2010 and verified on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2008, but not Windows Server 2012.
    The approach in this case includes the following per the blog:
    Check to see if a web application with the current specified URL is already in use – exit if it is
    Check to see if an application pool with the name already exists. If so use it, otherwise create one
    Create a web application based on the parameters specified
    Assign the object cache properties to the new web application
    Create policies for the object cache users to the web application
    To simplified the code, we could use powershell below to check if web application and application pool have been already in use ahead. And skip the last two steps in the first time.
    Get-SPWebApplication | fl displayname, applicationpool
    Please refer to New-SPWebApplication
    which is used to create a new web application within the local farm:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607931(v=office.15).aspx. Only two parameters i.e. ApplicationPool and Name are required, we could try a simple command at first:
    Please run Get-SPManagedAccount to check the managed account, then execute the command below:
    $ap = New-SPAuthenticationProvider
    New-SPWebApplication -Name "Contoso Internet Site" -Port 2014 -ApplicationPool "ContosoAppPool" -ApplicationPoolAccount (Get-SPManagedAccount "Domain\Administrator")
     -AuthenticationProvider $ap -SecureSocketsLayer

  • Unable to connect backend applications through EP in DMZ1 firewall?

    Dear all,
    To brief our landscape, its look like below.
    Internet -> DMZ1(Webservers)->Portal(DMZ2)->Internal(Backend Systems).
    We tried to access the backend systems through portal in DMZ2..its working fine. When we tried to access the portal in DMZ1...its coming perfectly, when we access the backend applications through portal in DMZ1...its not coming...it says...operation timed out...
    Kindly suggest me what would be the problem...all the ports are open in DMZ1 and DMZ2... But we hav not done reverse proxy in DMZ1(Webservers), Can we try after doing Apache reverse proxy in DMZ1. Pl suggest me

    Hi Netanel,
    Thanks for ur reply...
    See, we hv writen a rewrite rule for all three systems like R/3, BW and SCM
    RewriteRule ^/sap(.)/public(.) http://myr3sever.company.domain.com:r3port/R3$1 [P]
    RewriteRule ^/sap(.)/bc/bsp/sap(.) http://myscmsever.company.domain.com:scmport/SCM$1 [P]
    etc..
    We are differentiating the systems with their names...but when it rewrites..its taking R3 string as well in the path...
    Like
    http://webserver.company.domain.com/R3/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui.
    I think if we remove R3 string at the time of rewrite, then we should be able to get i belive.
    kindly suggest me

  • Unable to create a folder through java code on weblogic server 10GR3

    Hi,
    I have java code which creates a folder and writes an XML file in to it.
    File saveDirectory = new File(storePath);
    if(!saveDirectory.exists()){
    System.out.println("directory doesnt exists");
    boolean isDirectoryCreated = saveDirectory.mkdir();
    System.out.println("directory doesnt exist creating status :"+isDirectoryCreated);
    This code works fine on my local weblogic server.Whereas the one installed on Unix box is not.
    saveDirectory.mkdir() is unable to create a directory at the given path.
    I feel there is some permission problems.
    Please let me know what can be done.
    Thanks,

    I have my Linux/Unix Admin either add me to a group that can do this or create one that can and add me to it.
    If you command prompt can you manually do it now?
    Best Regards
    mseberg
