Unable to get Activity Type Plan price

When creating cost estimate for a product (CK11N),  the system prompt that "No prices could be determined for object Activity type N01/NEW01/NAT01".
And the Diagnosis in Performance Assistant shows that "No price could be found for object Activity type N01/NEW01/NAT01 with price indicator  and value type 4."
Could you do me a favor to explain and solve this error?   Thank you very much!

Dear sandhya,
While doing ck11n for a finished material, only material and material overheads are getting calcualted. The activity type and the production overhead are not getting calculated. Can you please guide me to solve this error?
The error log showing in green colour states that "no structure could be determined for internal activity typexxx"
Diagnosis
The system could not determine a cost component split for the internal activity with activity type XXXX of cost center XXXXX.
Procedure
Check the master data for activity type XXXX of cost center XXXX. It is possible that no activity price calculation has been carried out for the cost center.
I will award full points.
Thanks well in advance.

  • Activity Type Planning, Cost Center Planning

    Hi Friends,
I am learning SAP Controlling. I have few doubts.
    1. Activity Type planning (or) Activity Dependent Planning (Cost Center +Activity
       type) both are same.
    2. Cost Center Planning (or) Activity Independent Planning (Cost Center + Cost
Element +Activity type) both are same.
    Thanks,
    Rams.N

Activity Planning and Cost planning are different. The first in quantity planning, while Cost planning is Dollar Planning.
While planning cost ($), you can mention, if such cost is activity dependent or not.
The purpose is to derive an actitivity price. This is derived by dividing, the cost by the activity quantity. If a cost center has more than one activity, then the cost need to be associated with the activity. This is where we require to identify, if a cost is activity dependent or not. When you mark a cost as  an activity dependent, that cost is fully cosidered while deriving the associated activity price.
The activity independent cost are split amongst activities to derive the price for each activity. This step is done before the activity prices are computed.

  • Cost element/activity type planning upload

    Hi,
When doing the cost element/activity type planning upload via KP06, can I assign only one characteristic in the element definition level?   Because I want to put in the excel upload layout  the cost elements, cost centers and activity types.  But ECC 6.0 is allowing only one characteristic in the element definition level.  Has anyone encountered this problem?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Thess

    Hello,
This is controlled by planning are in your planning profile. You need to use "Cost ctrs: Cost element/activity inputs" planning area for this purpose.
Hope you are conversant with Integrated excel upload.
To do integrated excel upload of cost center plan data.
IMG ==> Controlling ==> Cost Center Accounting ==> Planning ==> Manual Planning User Defined Layouts - Create your own layout or copy from standard layout and change it.
IMG ==> Controlling ==> Cost Center Accounting ==> Planning ==> Define User Defined Planner Profiles
Copy the SAPALL to ZSAPALL. You cannot change SAPALL as it is standard.
In ZSAPALL planner profile, select proper planning area and enter your layout.
    Tick Integrate Excel.
Once the popup for KP06 comes, you need enter the data and save it. It would generate the file name.
With the same file name you need upload the plan data by using KP06.
    In KP06
Extras ==> Excel Planning ==> Upload
Select the file as prepared in accordance with format at the time of generating the file name.
    Hope this solves your problem.
Please let me know if you need futher help.

  • Activity type planning error

we want to CO planning for cost center/ activity type labor, but in kP06, it asks for cost element. how can we do planning without cost element
    also
second error says:Cost center C231000 has none of the activity types used here
    Message no. K8102
Activity type LABOR not planned on any of the cost centers used here
    Message no. K8103
when I check activity type setting, it is: activity type category:1, price indicator:1
how can I change activity type and cost center to allow kp06 posting

    Hello
You have to enter the plan against the cost element in KP06.
Check if the activities are assigned to work centers and work centers are mapped to cost centers. Also in the activity master You allow the cost center category in which the cost center C231000 is created. You may enter * in the field CCtr. category.

  • Routings and activity types planning

    hi,
can any body explain how we will fix values for acitivities like set up time, processing time etc.. in the routings. whether the cost center-activity price planning fixed first or standard values for activities would be fixed first.
    thanks in advance
    Robert

    Rob
if you have the workcenter with the activities defined in teh costing view it means that you have carried out the price planing for the activities for the Cost center within  a controlling area. after that while creating the operations in routing you can see activities defaulting in operation details.
So do carryout KP26 first and then go for routing.
    Hope this helps

  • Activity Type Prices upload

    Hi Experts,
I am uploading the Activity Type planning through LSMW and I recorder the the same in LSMW and when I am doing this it is saying that field BDC08 for Variable price cannot maintained. And when in source fields step I cannot fins any field for this.
So how to ulpoad the Activity prices ? Is there is any method for doing this in SAP Conrolling ? If it is available give me the steps by steps for this.

    Hi Edukondalu,
Normally it is not suggested to use LSMW for Planning Data Upload for Cost Element and Activity Planning in Cost Center Accounting.
There is "Excel Upload" menthod available which standard SAP feature. You will need to create Planner Profile, Planning Layouts etc.
Pls find the detailed procedure below for Excel Upload for cost element planning...
CREATE LAYOUT : (Example of cost element planning layout) KP65
    1. Create cost center element planning layout:
    2. To insert new lead column:
    i) Press New Lead column and select the required column. As shown in screen shot below.
ii) Click Lead column and select name and characteristic (to view both the field name and description).
    iii) Click confirm to save.
    3. For general data selection : click on general data selection button (Filter Symbol).
The following screen ( Fig C ) appears. Select the fields required and press confirm.
Then follow previous step to add new lead column.
    4. Save the layout.
    USER DEFINED PLANNER PROFILE: KP34
    1. New Entry: Give profile name and description. Then save the profile.
    2. Select the newly created profile and press General Controlling. Fig E appears. Select the planning area for which layout has been created. (In this case Cost element/activity planning). Select QUDK from selection list (i.e. the basis for distribution of the total cost over each period). Save the planning area.
    3. Select the newly created planning area and press Layout for controlling. Fig F appears. Select the layout to be attached to the planning area and check the integrated box. Save the layout.
    4. Select the newly created layout and press default parameters.
    5. Give the Version, period from and to, year, cost center, activity (if activity dependent), element. Check the form base button and press overview screen.
    6. Save Generic Name of file. (eg. Planning*.txt).
    7. Save file description.
    8. Save excel layout.
    9. Copy the file to another excel sheet and save as planner1.xls. In this file give the plan amounts and save in txt form with same name.
    10. Go to KP06 T/Code.
    11. From Menus select extras - excel planning u2013 Upload.
    12. Give path or file name. Choose the file description and execute. The file will be uploaded in system.
Hope this will help you...Pls revert back for further assistance...

  • Calculating Planned Prices

    Hi,
Can any one pls explain what is the exact function of T Codes KP06 and KP26 and KSPI.
I have planned quantities for the cost elements and activity wise, after that I have entered the price for that particular activity in KP26, and then I calculated the planned price using the TCode KSPI, and then I have run the KP96 ( activate integrated planning) to transfer the planned values to the cost centers.
Is this the right path?, please guide me. How does the price will be calculated in KSPI and please explain me what is "Total Value in report currency" and "Total Fixed and variable quantity"
    regards,
    Aman

    Dear,
    1) KP26-Activity Planning
    2) KP06-Cost element Planning
    3) KSPI- Price calculation
In KP06 we are planning input based on primary cost element. Sametime in KP26 we are planning the capacity based on secondary cost element.
The activity rate will be calculated only based on your secondary element. While creating an Activity type you will be assigning a secondary cost element in the master data, which will capture the cost during confirmation of order. Hence the planning cost by logic will also captured from the secondary cost elements only.
In KP06 u have to give ur COST ELEMENT and COST CENTER, in KP26 we have to give Activity Type rate for perticural time period say year  and  they are assign to the COST CENTER
KSPI is use to get average of planned price
    Hope it will help you.

  • Activity Types and Cost Centres

Our PP is not yet live now.
While going through the system settings, it is found that many activities (approx. 15 for indirect expenses also) are planned in the Production Cost Centres.
However, these activities are not included in the master data of the Work Centre. Only one activity type is mentioned there for machining.
Then, what is the purpose of other activity types planned if they are not mentioned in the Work Centre ?
Is there any other way these activity costs will appear in the Cost report ?

    Hi,
You are almost on the right line, activity quantities will be triggered in the  cost center report based on the routing master and through  the confirmation from the production orders.
For the creation of the  work center - Activity Planning KP26 is required. Cost center/Activity
where we can plan the activity quantities.
Prior to that KP06 is required to plan the  primary cost combination of (Cost Element/Cost center/Activity Type) where we can plan the cost.
Based on the above information we can calculate the plan price - KSPI
Based on the confirmation from the production orders activity quantities will be updated in the center report. cost will be updated with actual postings in the cost center.
So that you can calculate the actual activity price.

  • Activity Type ---------------kp26 --------------------Suggest

    Hi all
can any one give good suggestion ..
my client is asking activity type planning not fixed
    we have 4 activity type
    1) Labour -K.G
    2) Labour -Inch
    3) Machine Hour-
    4) Labour Cost Area
    But main problem
    when we plan in KP26
There is plan in labour wise
because one labour is taking some amount
other labour is taking another amount like
    pls suggest me
    it is very urgent
    where can plan

    HI Supriya,
You plan activity-dependent primary costs as follows on a cost center(s)/cost center group:
    By cost element(s)/cost element group
Based on the activity type(s)/activity type group
This means that you can plan a fixed amount and a variable amount for your primary costs. Variable costs are the costs incurred in producing a given activity, proportional to the quantity of activity produced. You can calculate target costs based on the costs split and the operating rate (actual activity quantity related to the plan activity quantity). Target costs for costs planned by value are comprised of:
    Plan fixed costs
Plan variable costs adapted to the actual operating level (= target costs of the actual operating level)
    Example:
To produce 1000 hours of activity type FST, costs of $400,000 are required. This amount represents the variable costs. The portion of fixed costs, $200,000, is incurred irrespective of the activity quantity.
For activity-dependent costs, which are planned based on quantity, the following formulas apply:
Variable target quantity = Variable plan quantity X Operating rate
Fixed target costs = Fixed target quantity X Fixed price
+ Variable target quantity X Fixed price
+ Fixed target quantity X Variable price
Variable target costs = Variable target quantity X Variable price
    If useful give me points.

  • ACTIVITY TYPE IN CO

    Hi sap gurus
plz spare few minutues with this
What is Activity type in CO
how will u give link with cost center
    plz look into this
    rgds
    prasad

    Hi
Activity types describe the activity produced by a cost center and are measured in units of time or quantity.
In activity type planning, control data determines whether the activity price for evaluation of the activity type is manually set or is derived iteratively through activity price calculation
Activity type creation at TCode KL01 - Create
Cost Centre creation at TCode KS01 - Create
Activity type and cost centres are assinged to Workcentre at TCode CR01

  • What are the difference between Activity types & SKFs

    Dear Friends
Can any body help me regarding, what are the main differences between Activity Types & Statistical Key Figures(SKFs).
    Thanks, in Advance

    Hi Prabhakar,
Both are used as tracing figures. The major difference is that Activity type has price on its own and its gets summed up at the time of allocation. The sum figures debited to the receiving cost object and credited to sending cost object. Activity type cannot stand alone.
But it is not the case with SKF. SKF are only used as tracing factors and do not have price unlike activity type.
    Example
In the case of activity allocation of Labour hours, the activity type of Labour with price shall be used.
In the case of statistical figure, take the example of Canteen expenses and its allocation between the Cost objects on the basis of head count of each cost object. :
Hope this answers to your query!

  • Activity Type and Cost Element Assignment wrong

The cost element appearing in Transaction code KP26
( Activity type planning), should come through the master data of the activity type.
What I am observing in my system, that for the combination of the Cost center and Actvity type , in KP26 the same cost element is not appearing as per the master data of Activity type. And also the cost element filed is gray. It is happening for 2008 financial year only.
    How to correct this problem?
Is there ant note to be applied.?
    Kamlesh

This is normally a result of changing the CE while the Activity Type was active and in use (planned against and/or activity confirmed for some production orders).
One solution is to curtail the activity to the end of the period you are in and create a new one from the following period. Just beware that you may need to change the routings, splitting rules, etc. as well.
    Cheers.
