  • Unable to import table or columns in OBIEE 11G RPD

    Hi All,
We are unable to import table into the RPD using OCI 10G/11G to import the table then the import box open but we are unable to see the tables below the schema name. When we use ODBC 3.5 and created a DSN for the database then we are able to see all the tables and import them. But the problem here is that when we are using window server 7 64 bit to install client and then importing the table ODBC is not working fine as well.
Please note that we are using OBIEE 11G which is installed on unix box and we connect to RPD using client installed on windows server.
Appreciate all the help in advance.
    Thanks,

  • DATAIMP-ERR-1124: Unable to import table "S_CS_ANSWR_LANG"

    Hi all,
hopefully can someone here help me. I can not manage to make the Database Configuration successfully til now (already 2 months working on this, because I can't get help in any forum most of the time).

I guess that the command line I executed to drop some tablespaces (SIEBELINDEX and SIEBELDATA) dropped the links to these tablespaces and the table which causes the error. I used for that:
    drop tablespace siebelindex including contents
    and datafiles cascade constraints;
Can someone confirm me, if this can cause the error?. I am not an Oracle specialist.
I would really appreciate if somebody helps me. I am itrying to do this since months on Windows. Installed already the Oracle Client as well, Database connection works.
What should I do in this case if the Wizard doesn't run anymore because of this error?...I wouldn't like to install and reinstall what I already installed (Siebel Gateway, Siebel Enterprise, Siebel DB, etc. it's a lot of work and stress. Please help me :-(.

    I suggest you the following:
    1. recreate your tablespaces to make sure there is no previous data imported or tables created.
    2. rerun grantusr.sql
    3. make a backup of all master_*.ucf files under siebsrvr/bin folder
    4. delete all master_*.ucf files under siebsrvr/bin folder
    5. make a backup of the siebsrvr/log/install folder.
    6. remove the siebsrvr/log/install folder.
    7. launch the db config wizard and check if it works now.
I suspect there is some old parameter being used from your previous tablespaces.
If above is not helpful, provide the contents of the log file generated when process failed and upgwiz.log.
    Hope it helps,
    Wilson

  • OBIA / OBIEE Unable to Import Tables to DAC

    hi all,
When I am trying to import tables or synonyms from the DAC console , it brings up only views like the _DFV which are views.
It does not import any tables or synonyms.
I am able to connect to the database thru sql developer /toad and can check that the tables exist in DB.
The process I follow is DAC -> Design -> Tables -> Click any of the table line and 'right Click' -> Choose 'Import from Database' -> Choose 'Import Database Tables' -> Choose the EBS data source and just enter a % on the table name filter -> click on 'Read Tables'
it brings up the _DFVs / views but doesnt show up any tables or synonyms.
Plz help if anyone has resolved this issue.
    Thanks
    User

    Hi,
If you are using DAC for OBIA ,then create olap table structure using dac console, why you trying to import EBS tables directly?

Since you are using Oracle 8.1.6, you can use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE instead of DBMS_SQL. Make sure that the necessary privileges have been granted directly, not through roles. Click on the link below for more about privileges and roles and the error message that you got:
    http://osi.oracle.com/~tkyte/Misc/RolesAndProcedures.html
Once you have the privileges granted properly, you should be able to use the code below. I should point out that this is still doing things the hard way. You can just issue the create table statement from the SQL prompt. I must assume that this is just a minimal experiment and that the eventual code involves more.
SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE executesql
      2    (SQLStatement IN VARCHAR2)
      3  IS
      4  BEGIN
      5    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE SQLStatement;
      6  END executesql;

    Procedure created.
SQL> EXEC executesql ('CREATE TABLE test (name NUMBER)')

Is it Compulsory to give Schema and Work Schema while creating the Physical Schema in Oracle Data server?
This is mandatory to have a schema and a work schema here.
The schema and work schema could be the same user as the user who is connected to the dataserver!

    Hi Thnaks for the reply.
We are able to open the same repository in offline mode and furhte rmore even we are able to create the new repository with th esame database. One thing we noticed is our ip address has been changed, is this cusing the error..??
    One more question:
Our database has been SHIFTED to new system and got new tns details(hostname, service name etc). What changes do i need to do with respect to the new database in obiee 11g application so that I can connect to the database with same repository.
    The things I have done:
1.Copied the new tnsnames file to oracleBI1\network\admin
2.Created the new DSN with respect to new databse service name.

    Hi Gurus,
I was trying to integrate Active directory into OBIEE 11g. Followed the Oracle documentation and Rittman Mead too but cannot get past a connection issue. I create a new provider, provide the connection details, use bissytemuser in AD as the Principal but when WLS is bounced/restarted, it fails to connect and throws the below error:
"Cannot initialize identity store, cause: oracle.security.idm.ConfigurationException: javax.naming.CommunicationException: <hostname>:389 [Root exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: <hostname>]".
Not sure if this makes a difference but admin and managed server come up but not analytics.
