Unable to open audiobooks section

Hey I'm having a really weird issue with my new 32g iPod Touch. It was working fine, but this afternoon when I tried to open the 'Audiobooks' section (under "more") it wouldn't let me open it - the screen goes black and then goes back to the home screen. It might be relevant, I bought two audiobooks from itunes this afternoon, and the problem occurred first after the sync I started after purchasing them. However, not syncing these audiobooks to the ipod hasn't fixed the problem, nor has restoring the ipod to factory settings/ resetting all settings. Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused this? What can be done to fix it?

I have this exact same problem. EXACT! I just bought a book, sync and its going to the home screen just like you said. Im gonna do a search for what you said to do, hope it helps!

  • I am unable to open a section of cPanel for Awstats

    I am using Mozilla Firefox,BUT all programs work correctly excepting for Awstats,which when open,all I get is all the data and information down the left hand side of the page and I am unable to open any of this program.
    Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you

    Usually reinstalling Firefox doesn't change its behavior.
    Do you have any notification icons in the address bar, such as the gray shield icon indicating mixed content?
    Do you want to test in a clean profile? This is the fastest way to determine whether it's a settings issue or more likely a Firefox or external software issue.
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
    A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
    Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
    You'll click the Create Profile button. I recommend using the default location suggested, and to avoid data loss, not re-using any existing folder. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Do the framed pages work any better in the new profile?
    When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • [SOLVED] Rad 7790+Catalyst = Error: unable to open display (null)

    Radeon HD 7790 + Catalyst = Error: unable to open display (null)
    Greetings,
    I've installed Arch 2 days ago(migrated from Fedora), but I'm still a newbie to linux, so please have patience.
    I've bought AMD Radeon HD 7790 recently and decided that it's time to upgrade system, but since then I had only problems with it. No LiveCD I tried (Fedora 20, Mint)  worked properly in graphics mode, so I suspected problem in built-in drivers and moved to linux with text-only installation (Arch), so I could install drivers later.
    I've followed wiki manual and installed catalyst, removed open source driver, added nomodeset parametr to GRUB etc. but I'm still stucked, because Xorg won't start(black screen and errors presented in Logs). Tried googling, but learned nothing except Radeon proprietary drivers are comparable to suicide.

    I've managed to solve this error:
    (EE) AIGLX error: failed to open /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so, error[/usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    There was missing library and few directories, which I found according to this http://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comme … _correctly at /usr/lib/dri, so I had to just symlink it. However, "unable to open display" error is still annoying me and Xorg is not working.
    EDIT: Found EE about missing commands in new Xorg.0.log and installed xterm to solve this. Now I don't have entirely black screen after startx. There is white rectangular terminal and fglrxinfo seems to be all right as it detected my Radeon and OpenGL. Now I have to install some DE, but that's another story. Marking as [SOLVED] and once again thanks to clfarron4 for reply.

  • I am unable to open pdf files in firefox, and I have tried all the solutions proposed by others. How can I re-enable pdf viewing in firefox?

    I have recently switched to Firefox from Google Chrome, and I am finding that I am unable to open any pdf files from the web in any way in Firefox. I cannot download them and open them in Adobe Reader, and I cannot preview them in Firefox, nor can I use the Adobe plugin. I have tried to use the solutions posed by users on this site, but none of them have worked. Any time I make a change to settings to try to solve this issue, the change never allows me to view the pdf file, and the setting reverts to the previous setting after the browser has been restarted. I don't care how I view the file, but I need to either be able to view it as a preview or I need to be able to download it.

    I don't know if this is any help I have had a problem where the pdf files were not opening correctly which I think was the problem here. I spent hours of head scratching and have now found out what the problem is. Right click on the Adobe Reader Icon on the desktop. Select properties and then the compatibility tab. You will see the uppermost section in this screen is Compatibility mode. I have Windows 7 and mine was set to Windows XP. I changed that to Windows 7 and now the problem is resolved. In short use the above instructions to check you are using the right compatibility mode for the version of Windows you are using and your troubles should be over!!

  • I need urgent help with my macbook pro, installed a theme and now unable to open windows, please help !

    Hello,
    I installed a theme on OS X Lion that was actually made for snow leapor, because on a youtube video someone said it works with Lion too,
    After installing it I got problems seeing close and minize icons.
    And After reinstalling my Macbook pro, I am unable to open finder, Safari, Terminal etc.
    I have tried to get help from several help forums, and tried changing files as described here
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3256533?start=0&tstart=0
    Theme was downloaded from here
    http://www.fif7y.com/themes/sog/

    Okay, it's both for your first question: When I import the songs to the library, the songs are not in the correct order as they were on the CD. And, in the process of my importing the songs, the library scrambles the songs in different sections of the library (I explain further below)
    I don't know what you mean by "little triangle" pointing up or down. What's that got to do with the price of fish in China? lol
    When I get the music in the library the songs come out sorted this way: 2 songs from CD 1 appear one section of the library, then 1 song from CD 2 appears in the next column, along with the album work. Then, I go down farther, and there's a few more of the songs from CD 1 in the next section. I go down again, and maybe 2 or 3 songs are in that column. Along with the artwork for that CD. Then I scroll down again in the library, and there's maybe 3 or 4 songs from CD 1 there. Get the picture? It keeps sorting the songs in that order. And yes, the CDs I was importing were compliation dance CDs, along with some from the same artist, like Barry Manilow.
    I hope I answered the questions better so that you can help me Thanks in advance, Glenn

  • Unable to open files associated with Adobe Reader - program goes into a loop

    i am unable to open any file associated with adobe reader or adobe pro.  when i double-click the file, adobe reader opens up but it goes into a loop.
    adobe reader opens, then a progress window opens, as if the file will open but adobe closes and opens again and the same cycle repeats itself until i manually close the program.
    any advice?
    update:
    i can open regular .PDF files when i double-click the icon and i can also open .PDF files when i open adobe reader first and then choose open file.  it's just the .FDF files that are the problem (so far).
    the file in question happens to be an .FDF extension, which is an internet generated form. i attached a screen shot of the screen that pops up, goes away, and pops up again that creates the loop.
    the white out section is the server name where the file was saved to.  but i also get the same symptoms when i am in internet explorer, hit the generate form button.

    hey ankit,
    sorry i didn't see a notification that you replied to this discussion.
    "1. Generate a new PDF and a FDF file. Try opening the same and see if it behaves the same way."
    yes, it does behave the same way, it's just a continuous loop until i have to kill the process.
    "2. Check if you have access to the PDF that is being used by the particular FDF."
    by this do you mean the correct permissions?  if that is what you mean, then yes, the permissions are set correctly.
    "3. If possible, please send me the FDF and the associated PDF that is behaving in this way on your system."
    i really wish i could but the information in the form is sensitive and cannot be sent.
    as an update though, i reimaged the customer's workstation, installed Adobe Reader 10.1.1 and it worked perfectly (finally).  HOWEVER, after about two weeks the same symptoms returned!

  • I am unable to open attachments (Word Documents, Excel file, Adobe) from my Gmail with Firefox.

    I am unable to open attachments (Word Documents, Excel file, Adobe) from my Gmail with Firefox. My computer freezes when I try to open the (email attachment) file. Task Manager says "not responding".
    You can respond to [email protected]

    You may first want to look into Safari's "Installed Plugins" section within the browser. This is (usually) found under the Safari Help header in the top of a browser. I say usually, because I don't use Safari often and mine is an older version. They handle applications and plugins like most others, to a point.
    I see in Safari Installed Plugins that mine would use
    application/pdf
    Acrobat Portable Document Format
    Acrobat Reader & reader plugin v9.5.5 for web browsers
    (in Safari 5.x, where I looked into this)
    While I use FireFox, SeaMonkey (Mozilla) and others, where I can choose in preferences the helper applications to open from the browser, Safari has different methods; so if you can change this in the preferences or settings of Safari in a later version I am not certain.
    You could see what the defaults are by using Safari help menu to open the Installed plugins, and maybe find out what happend to Adobe reader plugin. Could be it was 'sandboxed' in a later OS X and needs to be installed differently to be accepted as safe.
    It is easier to set how a file type is handled once it is inside the computer and not held in the browser; by file type in general or specific to each single document. I do both, and seldom let an a browser do these things due to security considerations. I download and open them, only then if I feel they are safe.
    Sorry to not have a specific answer for that anomaly.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How to find/erase books?No AudioBook Section anymore??

    Hi,
    I'm updated iTunes to 7.1.1(5) as of today.
    Shouldn'ta oughta dunnit.
    When I look at my iPod, I can see the separate AudioBook section at the same heirarchical level as Artists, Albums, Songs, Genres etc. and I can access all 12 audiobooks (they are .aa files, downloaded from audible.com)
    When my iPod's connected to iTunes however, there is NO way to find these audiobooks anywhere... NOT in the music library, and there is NO AudioBooks section at the top heirarchical level in iTunes as older iTunes versions had. How the heck can I erase my books once they're read? What the __ is going on? Please help...
    By the way, my iPod has the latest software, iTunes assured me.
    Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    iMac 24" 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM Mac OS X 10.4.9 Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    embarrassed, but hope this helps someone else...
    I opened preferences and found under general the appropriate box to check, et, voilà... there was my Audiobooks section back again. Must have gotten unchecked by something in the update.
    Thanks, me, I've been a real help

  • Unable to open files properly.

    I have been giving Premiere CS5.5 a go recently. It's something I want to make use of for a living so I got myself one of the classroom in a books for the software. I'm aware it's for CS5 rather than .5 but I'm trying.
    Anyway I'm just starting with the lessons. I've created the lesson folder like the book wants me to. However I'm running into a problem that is stopping me from progressing:
    When I open the Lesson 1 file, I am prompted that "This project was saved from a previous version of Adobe Premiere Pro and must be converted"
    So I continue and I don't know where I'm meant to be going. While the book tells me I may be prompted to tell adobe Premiere Pro where the file is in the lessons/assets folder, I don't know if this is the same prompt. Either way the software keeps crashing when I'm unable to complete this section. I don't really know what I'm meant to be doing. Any help would be appreciated.

    The assets folder is located in Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\5.0\Lessons\Assets. When I go into Assets to try and use that, all files and resources are greyed out, stopping me from trying it. Furthermore I've reinstalled Premiere so I can try and see if that's fixed the crashing later on.
    EDIT: The software crashed again. This happens after I attempt to open lesson 1 from the criab and then have to click cancel because I can't find/don't know which of the files/assets is required to fix the prompt.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
  • UNABLE TO OPEN FCP 6.02 PROJECT FILES AFTER INSTALLING LEOPARD!
    **Unable to open FCP 6.02 project files after installing Leopard**. Tested and found that the files can be opened on another computer with OS 10.4.10, but not OS 10.5. Spoke to apple support many times, and have tried reinstalling FCP, but it didn't work.
    Apple is now saying to erase my HD and reinstall from scratch. This presents a problem since i have software installed but no disc due to a move, (they are deep in offsite storage).
    Anyone have this problem? Anyone know a fix?
    Lynne,
    There is a section in the manual on the migration tool... I don't have my machine fired up right now so can't direct you to the exact page. I think a search for migration or migrate should do it.
    Two other things to try:
    1. There have been numerous reports that Quicktime 7.3 is what is killing older projects. According to one of the third party program makers Apple re-wrote Quicktime changing the null value to Zero from minus-one. I'm not a code junkie so can't vouch for this but the upshot would be, go back to Quicktime 7.1 or 7.2 not 7.3
    2. There is a Quicktime plugin called "Perian". For lots of people it has caused numerous problems.
    Look for Perian on your machine and if you find it, drag the app to the trash... re boot and try again.
    Of course the ultimate solution would be to reinstall Tiger, Final Cut Studio 2 and Quicktime 7.2. So far the most stable combined setup for me and lots of others on G5 machines.
    36 degrees and thunderstorms with sleet here this afternoon. The door on my storage unit is staying closed.
  • ASO Custom Calc -Error-1241109 :Unable to open file
    Hi,
    I am trying to implement ASO custom Calc in version 11.1.2.1 ,using following Version DataCopy script in Maxl Editor
    In POV i have included 1 set of base level member from each dimension just for testing purpose.
    TestScript.csc Content : [Final] := [Working_0] ;
    execute calculation on database 'EFXBASE'.'EFXBASE' with
    local script_file "/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/achd1rka001/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1/app/EFXBASE/EFXBASE/TestScript.csc"
    POV
    "Crossjoin({[FXEXP]},Crossjoin({[Jan]},Crossjoin({[FY06]},Crossjoin({[CH_None]},Crossjoin({[PJ_None]},Crossjoin({[PD_None]},Crossjoin({[CC_0300]},
    Crossjoin({[0004]},Crossjoin({[CurrFcst]},Crossjoin({[Local]},Crossjoin({[ICP_None]},{[LSTB]})))))))))))"
    SourceRegion
    "[Working_0]" ;
    I am getting following error on execution of above script
    Unable to open file ['/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/achd1rka001/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1/app/EFXBASE/EFXBASE/TestScript.csc']
    Custom Calculation terminated with Essbase error 1241109
    what could be the reason .. I have tried using '//' or '\' in file path but still getting same error.
    Can you post your script. (change " to ' in POV and SourceRegion section)
  • GNOME in failsafe and unable to open new windows
    Hello,
    Since yesterday, I have many crash in GNOME Shell. The display goes in a kind of failsafe mode (very simple graphics and effects) after some time and I am quickly enable to open new windows after the start of gdm.
    I'd have posted a screenshot but I'm not able to do it.
    When I try to open a new window in a terminal it fails, seems like an error with the display
    $ epiphany
    No protocol specified
    Failed to parse arguments: Cannot open display:
    $ echo $DISPLAY
    :0
    $ import MyScreenshot.png
    No protocol specified
    import: unable to open X server `:0' @ error/import.c/ImportImageCommand/368.
    I have the Xorg or opened windows process which take way too much CPU than the usual. For example Firefox easily blocks during a few minutes and I have errors related to a script in an extension which does not run.
    Here is my ~/.xsession-errors file
    I have not made any configuration change lately except the usual updates. I have to restart GDM each time it happens.
    Any idea what is causing that ?
    Thank you
    You mean the graphical card ? I have a nVidia GeForce 8400M GS.
    I just noticed I don't have a xorg.conf anymore, just in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ 3 files with nothing related to the screen
