Unable to retrieve agent's schedule(SCHEDULER EXPERTS.. please come here)

Hi,
anybody encountered this warning while trying to view schedule for a particular agent? what do we do?

Hi B,
There is some cause for this issue.
Whenever u clicked "Scheduling Information" ODI queried your planned schedules (your Work Repository table, SNP_PLAN_AGENT) and did not see anything scheduled in the time frame of "Schedule from" and "To" to output for you (actually it wil take 2 hours from NOW, means will consider the current time when u clicked + 2 hrs).
So whenever you click Scheduling Information it will fail saying Unable to retrieve scheduling information.
The work around would be,
The default "Schedule from" timestamp is the current timestamp on your machine and you can set the "To" timestamp by selecting an interval from the drop down (2 Hour, 1 Hours..) and clicking on either of the two yellow arrow buttons.
When ODI finds a schedule in the time frame, it will automatically display it for you on the right, if there is none, you will see unable to retrieve agent's schedule message.
PS: I hope your Agent Scheduler is running in all cases. :)

I found a few others which pointed me to the event logs WindowsAzurePack\MGmtSVC-AdminAPi and AdminSite. In these event logs, I see a lot of event ID 12 and 1046. The contents of event id 12 is the following:

The other thing I notice is that when trying to connect to the VMM. It's trying to use domain\username, yet when I try logging in with domain\username via the SCVMM Console. I get the You cannot access VMM management server (Error ID: 1604).
I'm not sure if this is why I can not add the VMM to WAP. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello,
I am not sure about the answer but I guess these steps will solve your problem:
1) Log in to the SPF server by using an account that is a member of the SPF_Admin local group.
2) Open an elevated Windows PowerShell window.
3) Type the following commands, and press Enter after you type each command:
Import-module spfadmin
New-SCSPFTenant -Name Administrator -SubscriptionId 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
4) Close the WAP Server Management Portal, and then reconnect to it to update all items.

Unable to enter the amount in schedules

Hello Experts
I am Unable to enter the amount in schedule in package when opened via package manager.All seems to be greyed out and edit is not possible.

There are many reasons that could explain why you can not input an amount in a schedule cell.
You should check the followings items :
- category builder (account families, flow behaviors, dimensional analyses). Also make sure it is ditributed.
- schedule design (initialization of dimensions and grouping method, cell formulas, read only cell option)
- data entry restrictions associated to the current reporting
- user rights
- package lock/protection

Reporting Agent and Download Scheduler

Hello All,
    I have an issue with the Reporting Agent and Download scheduler. I am on BW 3.5. I am not familiar with the setup myself (I inherited it), and I would like some basic information.
   Essentially it was working fine until we added some new settings. Now, the Download Scheduler freezes mid-run - just stops - and I am guessing this has to do with the new settings that were created (not by me - again, I just inherited all this).
   Any help, suggestions, links to white papers (Google was NOT helpful) anything at all on this ancient technology would be appreciated.

I just pick the gateway 11.2.0.3 patch to the installation. Here I got error and patch installation failed.

Internal Error - Unable to generate SQL for this Scheduled Workbook

I am encountering the following error when loading the results of a Scheduled Workbook;
Internal Error - Unable to generate SQL for this Scheduled Workbook (If you scheduled this workbook using a previous version of Discoverer, please reschedule and re-open)
This only happens for one of the scheduled workbooks and I am struggling to find an explanation to the problem. There are no reference to database links in the workbook so I can rule that out as a cause.
Does anyone have any suggestions to what might be causing the problem?

Hi,
The version is OracleBI Discoverer Plus Version 10.1.2.48.18. Do you think this has anything to do with it?If you are on this version, then you have the recommended patches applied.
Did you try to reschedule the workbook and see if this helps in resolving the issue?
I would suggest you enable server logging as this may help in collecting more details about the error.

Unexpected behavior of SQL Server Agent on weekly schedules

Hello.
I have experienced a little problem concerning job scheduling.
Today (on Monday 01/13/2014) I have created a job with the following schedule:
Schedule type: recurring, occurs: weekly, recurs every: 2 weeks, on: Monday, Occurs once at: 16:00:00 (or any time in the future), start date: 01/06/2014, no end date.
After that I have the next job launch planned on today 01/13/2014, but not on the next week 01/20/2014.
Logically, if I count two weeks since the last week 01/06/2014 I must get my launch on 01/20/2014, but not on 01/06/2014.
So, is the job next launch calculated properly (if yes, why?) or this behaviour may be concerned as a bug?
SQL Server version: 2012 Developer edition.

AS your startdate is a past day, it would take the first occurence as 13th Jan as starting date and there afer the schedule takes like 27th Jan as next schedule. If you change the startdate as 14th, then it would take 20th Jana s next and there after two
week calculation.
I am not sure, if you can change the startdate as 5htJan would change the schedule as per your needs. Please check the same.

CrystalReportViewer Failed to Open the connection Unable to retrieve Object

I am getting the following Error on trying to view a report in the CMC and the Infoview.

I have recently re-installed Crystal Reports Server XI on a server after a disk failure. I had a backup of my CMS database. I reinstalled the Crystal Servwer without atttaching this database, however crystal did not create a new db so I attached my old one.
I have deleted all my old ODBC connections and recreated them with new names and then reconnected my reports in Crystal Reports XI using the "Set Datasource Location" option and the report works fine.But as soon as I try to view it after uploading it as an object onto the server, I get the above error.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am tagging into this unanswered question as well because I think I have a similar issue. In my case I have a report which runs correctly in Crystal Reports designer but when I move it to the scheduler it fails on a "Failed to connect" to the report. In have used "Set data location" to no avail. When I go to Admin Tools and look at the complete list of datasources for all my reports this particular datasource is listed twice. The group of reports under one of the datasources works correctly. The reports listed under the second datasource all fail. The two datsources are spelled exactly the same and when I sompare the database details for a successfull and a failing report using this datasource they are the same (in the console and in infoview).
I have also checked the ODBC connections on the Crystalserver and there is only one occureence.
Any ideas?

DPS6: Unable to retrieve a backend SEARCH connection to process the search

I have installed and configured DPS 6 but I cannot get it to proxy through to our back-end Sun DS 5.2 servers. The error message I get is:
Error while reading entry [LDAP: error code 1 - Unable to retrieve a backend SEARCH connection to process the search request]As I am not familiar with the DP server I maybe making a simple mistake and would appreciate any pointers.
Background:
I have installed the DPS 6 on both a Windows 2000 SP4 server and on a Windows XP SP2 computer from the Sun Java Identity Management Suite v5 package.
I installed DS Core Server, DS EE Command-line utilities, and DPS Core Server and I selected "Configure manually after installation".
On the Win XP computer the installation path was:

The error message indicates (not very clearly I agree) that DPS could handled the request but could not contact the appropriate Directory Server (no connection).
There are several possible reasons for this.
First is directory1.example.com a valid fully qualified domain name on your machine. I.e. does this name resolve into an IP address ?
Second the host:port used for directory1.example.com is 636 which is the default secure LDAP port. This implies that you probably wanted to have a secure connection between DPS and the Directory Servers.
Well, dpconf has no way to specify that the port is intended to be a secure one. And will always consider that the port specified is the regular LDAP port. (I opened a bug about this and I hope it'll be fixed in 6.1).
Secure connections and information must be configured afterward.
To configure SSL between DPS and an ldap-data-source, please refer to the Administration Guide : <http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0995/6n3cq3b3q?a=view>
As for the jmxmp issue, it looks like the JDMK component on Windows was not installed. Did you install it with an Administrative account ?
Could you try to uninstall and re-install ?

CR for Enterprise 4.0: Unable to retrieve the datasource configuration

Hello Experts, I have the following issue with CR for Enterprise: I can successfully connect to our BI server, but when I select a universe I would like to build a report on, I receive the following error message about the validity of my data source: "Unable to retrieve the datasource configuration: com.crystaldecisions.thirdparty.org.omg.CORBA.UNKNOWN minor code: 0x0 completed: No". The universe I am trying to connect to is based on a relational connection and was built using the IDT 4.0 SP 1.

Well that is very strange! Is Crystal Reports for Enterprise installed on the server machine or on the local workstation?
If we are using Crystal Reports for Enterprise which is installed on a sperate workstation, try installing it on the server machine and then try to connect to universe.

Unable to Retrieve Database Settings in MDM 7.1 Console

Hi,
I have installed MDM7.1 on AIX and on DB2 successfully.
Installed MDM Console 7.1 on my desktop and as part of Post steps I am able to mount the DB but while I am setting Database settings getting the error "unable to Retrieve Database settings" in MDM7.1.
Can any one please suggest on the same

Thank you for your reply, I have gone through that thread. I have done all the settings required for MDM and DB2.
Only thing I havn't done is DB2 Client was not installed. Because our DB2 expert is saying that he has installed full DB2 installation and since DB2 and MDM are on the same box,
client software is not necessery. Is this correct..please advice.

XML Report completes with error due to REP-271504897: Unable to retrieve a string from the Report Builder message file.

We are in the middle of testing our R12 Upgrade. I am getting this error from the invoice XML-based report that we are using in R12. (based on log). Only for a specific invoice number that this error is appearing. The trace is not showing me anything. I don't know how to proceed on how to debug where the error is coming from and how to fix this. I found a patch 8339196 that shows exactly the same error number but however, I have to reproduce the error in another test instance before we apply the patch. I created exactly the same order and interface to AR and it doesnt generate an error. I even copied the order and interface to AR and it doesn't complete with error. It is only for this particular invoice that is having an issue and I need to get the root cause as to why. Please help. I appreciate what you all can contribute to identify and fix our issue. We have not faced this issue in R11i that we are maintaining right now for the same program which has been running for sometime. However, after the upgrade for this particular data that the user has created, it is throwing this error REP-271504897.

If you cant reproduce the issue on other instance, apply the patch on the test instance and verify all the funcionality related to the patch works OK. Then move the patch to production. Or you can clone the prod environment to test the patch.
