Unable to start Workshop on Solaris 8

Hi
I've a vanilla install of WL v8.1 sp4 on Solaris 8. I've been able to
define and start a server instance and do most tasks via the admin
console. I cannot though start the Workshop application.
When I run Workshop.sh I get the splash screen and then nothing.
On one occasion the following log was produced:
Unexpected Signal : 10 occurred at PC=0xF980AC2C
Function=[Unknown.]
Library=(N/A)
NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
reason and solutions.
Current Java thread:
Dynamic libraries:
0x10000 ?/usr/local/bea/jdk142_05/jre/bin/java
0xff350000 ?/usr/lib/libthread.so.1
0xff340000 ?/usr/lib/libdl.so.1
0xff20000
This means nothing to me - any tips?
Many thanks
Chris

    Hi,
Check the following link for more reasons.

It seems that current version is not matching and mostly not supported to the current version of workshop.

  • Unable to start ldmd on Solaris 11 IO Domain

    Hi all,
I have a T4-4 box running Solaris 11 as the control domain. I also have another IO domain within the box running Solaris, this is a brand new fresh install. I am trying to get the ldmd daemon running so I can export the virtual disk service both from control domain and IO domain. From the error output below, seems like I can't start the daemon because it is not a control domain.

I can't seem to get any information on this. Would really appreciate it if there's someone who can help.

The ldmd service runs only in the control domain. It does not need to run in any IO domain.

    Hi Anurag,
The problem is that OUI is not downloadable .
runInstaller file makes a call to .oui file, which is present in the install folder. Can you tell me the flow process or the algorithm used in this file?
Can this file be customized depending on certain requirements?

Solved the problem myself. Had to stop and restart cache agent using the timesten software installation account and not as root.
Documentation is not clear as to what happens when you install timesten using a "non root" account. Per documentation, we have to run setuproot script to create startup / stop scripts under init directory. With a non-root installation these scripts are created and on reboot agent process inherits the root account privs. This is a problem. For a non-root install the agent process should inherit the privs of the account that performed the installation and not root's.
May be a documentation correction is needed here.

just check the env file for the user who is starting or running that.
say if it is cshell, you can see the following variables in the .cshrc which will be under the user's home directory
    setenv JAVAHOME  WS_Root/jdk
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH  WS_Root/lib: /libnow source that file
    source .cshrcthen start the webserver.

This is almost always a result of not installing the service pack correctly.
You should check the documentation on the service pack to doublecheck that
    you have the correct settings.

I installed a fresh Solaris 10, it worked all fine. Because it does not support my NIC, so I downloaded a free sfe driver for my NIC, and installed it. The driver worked for me, but after that, ODE is unable to start. I think the new driver installation is the problem, but don't how to resolve it. Anyone can help me out of there please?

I have resolved the problem. I created /etc/defaultrouter for my office LAN. When I don't have connection to that router, the problem will ocur. So I just simply remove the file, then, it works!

    Hi,
I have had the same problem. Following solution. We have
installed the OWS under SUSE 6.0. In this release the Admin
listerner complains about a missing libstdc++.2.8.so. In the
distribution only the version 2.7 and 2.9 were shipped.
We uses the 2.8 Version of SUSE 5.3 and the symbol was missing
    again.
We get a other 2.8 version from a FTP site for Linux (don3t ask
me which one, I forgot) an this one works fine.
Obviously the libstdc++ is the major problem.
Hope I3ve helped you a little bit,
    So long and good luck

    hello,
did you check that the connection information you gave is correct ? the easiest way to check that, is to start the SQL*plus that is in the oracle_home/bin of where the reports server is residing and connect using the same connect-string. also check the server-logfile for further information.

  • Help. Windows 7: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002).

I just got a new computer. Windows 7. Toshiba. Intel 13-3110M Processor. 6GB DDR3 Memory. 1TB 5400rpm Hard Drive. Intel HD Graphics 4000. 2.40 GHz. 64-bit operating system.
I installed CS5 Creative Suite on it (which worked perfectly fine on my two previous computers--Windows 7 and Windows 8). Since then Photoshop and Illustrator have been giving me the same error message. "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application." The programs still open and remain open after pressing okay, but the message comes back every minute or so.
Then, with InDesign, the program won't open at all. It gives me the error message of "Cannot load the PDF.RPLN plug-in. It is dependent on the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in, which failed to load. Please check documentation for the EPS PAGE ITEM.RPLN plug-in." Then InDesign stops responding and closes itself.
I have to live with this computer for two more weeks (and then I go home and can use my old one again/return this current laptop), and I have schoolwork that counts on me being able to use these programs. If anybody could help me, I would be super grateful!
Oh, and I've already tried installing and uninstalling it.

Without system information nobody can say anything. also check the logs in the Event Viewer.
