Hi, you can use this roadmap I've made for upgrading to EHP1 from SP17 or lower. Please remark that its a prerquisite that Your java stack is on SP17 (solman SP17 = NW Java sps16). Also, You should include SP04/SP20 for Solman while upgrading via SAINT (ABAp Wise) and JSPM (JAVA wise).

  • Dependencies between the SAP R/3 Plug-In (PI) and the SAP Basis Plug-In (PI

    Hi All,
    SAP declare:
"SAP R/3 Plug-In Support Package 10 for SAP R/3 Plug-In 2004.1 (scheduled for delivery in November 2005) will require SAP Basis Plug-In 2005.1"
    I have an R/3 4.6c with PI 2004.1 and a BW 3.0B with PI_BASIS 2003.1.
<b>Why using a mistake combination I work right?
Are there some restriction using this combination?</b>
    Regards
    Davide Ivanov
    [email protected]

Within SAP R/3 Enterprise, the SAP Basis Plug-In is a prerequisite for the SAP R/3 Plug-In, and both components always have to have the same release level, e.g. PI 2004_1 and PI_Basis 2004_1. When planning an upgrade for the SAP R/3 Plug-In within SAP R/3 Enterprise, you have to upgrade the SAP Basis Plug-In as well. As of SAP Basis Plug-In 2005.1, the releases will no longer need to correspond. However, the SAP R/3 Plug-In Support Package for  PI 2004.1, which contains new interfaces, will still require a specific SAP Basis Plug-In. SAP R/3 Plug-In Support Package 10 for SAP R/3 Plug-In 2004.1 requires SAP Basis Plug-In 2005.1. ...

  • Can SRM 5.0, ECC 6.0, Netweaver 2004S upgrade to SAP Basis 7.1/kernel 710?

    Hi guys,
For IPv6 support, based on note 1346768,
    ===================================
o You use AS ABAP with a SAP Kernel 7.10 and at least patch level
150 or a SAP Kernel of Version 7.11 or 7.20.
    ====================================
How can the SRM/ECC/Netweaver products use IPv6? As far as I know, version 7.1 has not been released for these products yet. Can we upgrade the SAP Basis support pack only to 7.1?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You already gave yourself the answer : "version 7.1 has not been released for these products yet".
So it means that IPV6 support is not yet possible for SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0.
You have to wait for SAP and most probably you will have to do a full upgrade of the product and not only of Netweaver.
    Regards,
    Olivier

Please go through Console guide which covers most of basis activities.
I am listing down links to guides which can help you administer :
After skimming through the functionality part of Console guide, you can go through this guide for Administration Cockpit, this also contains activity level details:

  • What are the sap basis administrator tasks for SAP CRM 7.0

    Hello Guys,
I am an SAP BASIS administrator. I have never worked on any CRM system.
Now a days people in market talk much about wheather you have worked on CRM.
I have  no idea how CRM basis administration is different from the basis administartion of other products based on netweaver.
I would appreciate if someone throw some light on "SAP basis administration of CRM system".
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Some excellent documentations are available in:- https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/crm-inst (search for the operation guide pdfs, if required you can also check inst/upg docs). User your S user id/password to login.
From my experience, in practical field most of the issues you will face with qRFC/BDoc message flow handling and JAVA stack administration. Stress on these two areas and go through the guides, CRM admin won't be a major issue.
Once you go through the basic operation guides and start working on the system then you will come to know there exists many CRM specific trx(SMW02,SMWP..etc) codes and CRM related tables(CRMPAROLTP,CRMRFCPAR.. etc),bgd jobs/reports - which you have to take care at times.
    Thanks

    Hello,
We are implementing SAP ECC 6.0 on iSeries, i5/OS V5R4.
The application server & the database server are implemented on one centralized physical iSeries server.
We recently attempted to copy one SAP system (DEV) from one iSeries server to another, through restoring from an Entire System backup.

  • Unable to register the SAP JAVA CONNECTOR sapjco3.dll file

    HI
I'm trying to intergrate BO and BW using SAP BO Integration kit, and following the manual at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/a00ee3b2-5283-2b10-f1bf-8c6413e0898f&overridelayout=true
But first i must install the SAP Java Connector, I have downloaded them from https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000719346&.
My server is a WMvare win 2008.service pack 2.
My problem is that i'm unable to register the sapjco3.dll file.
    I'm runnning the comand regsvr32 "C:windowssyswow64sapjco3.dll
but I only get the error message "The module "sapjco3.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "sapjco3.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file ant try again"
I hav tried both the 64 bit and the 32 bit version of the dll. same error.
    the dll version is 7110.34.16.7531
    Any ideas
    Thanks

    Hi Pal,
you need to use the Java Connector v 2.1.8 and there is no need to register the DLL.

  • Migration of ST03N data when upgrading to SAP BASIS 700

    Hi,
if you're planning an upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0 (SAP_BASIS 700) you might be interested in keeping the ST03N data from your previous release. By default the "old" data will be deleted, because the workload collector has been re-designed and implemented from scratch in SAP_BASIS 700.
To migrate the workload collector data of ST03N to SAP_BASIS 700 a few steps have to be performed. SAP note 1005238 describes the implementation of a tool for the releases 4.6C, 6.20 and 6.40. This tool will convert and save the workload collector data in a separate DB table.
SAP Note 1006116 describes a second tool which has to be implemented in SAP_BASIS 700 after the upgrade. This tool will finish the data migration. Then ST03N will contain both datasets from the previous release and from the new SAP_BASIS 700.
The important point is the implementation of SAP note 1005238 before the upgrade. Without this the data will be lost, sorry.
I hope this information helps. Feel free to ask additional questions.
    Kind Regards,
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,
thanks very much for your fast help!
I have made a first check with the 4.5B-version of rsmigr10 and everything seems to be fine.
    Kind regards
    Michael

  • Unable to start the SAP

    Hi
I am starting the SAP through SAP MMC but I am not able to see anything in MMC.
Also SAPC11_0 server is not getting started.
After initial investigation I found that there is some profile issue because event viewer says
    Cannot open Profile C:/usr/sap/C11/sys/profile/START_DVEBMGS00_sapserver
"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( SAP???_?? ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Cannot open Profile C:\usr\sap\C11\sys\profile\START_DVEBMGS00_sapserver. (Error 2 ENOENT*: No such file or directory OR: The system cannot find the file specified.  ) [ntservstart.cpp 578].
Can anyone pl advise on this

  • What are the sap basis daily activities  in support project

Hi Friends, recently i am involved in Support project, could you please tell me what are the daily activities to follow in support project
    thanks&regards
    suresh

    Hi Suresh,
Few of daily activities in which you as a Basis Consultant should involve are as below:
    - Day to day system administrative issues raised by users e.g. User ID locked or new SAP ID creations etc.
    - Daily watch on background batch jobs. If any job failed due to some reason, work on it to avoid such failure in future with the help of function consultant
    - Watch on system performance
    - Authorizations & Roles definitions & assignements depending upon requirement.
    - System Backup depending upon business requirement
    - Printer setup in SAP
    - Watch on Print spool to avoid failures in SAP doccuments printing
    - Watch on interfaces (IDoc/EDI etc), if any, with external system
Also talk to your earlier or senior Basis consultant to know more.
    Hope it will help you.
    Regards,

  • Unable to renew the SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version license

    Greetings,
My license for SAP NetWeaver  ABAP  7.02 Trial Version has expired and I was trying to renew the license the other day. I was able to install the new license but, unfortunately, I were not able to delete the old licence not activate the new one.
I logged on with user: SAP* to install the new license and it was installed successfully. When I do try to delete the old one the system gives this error message: " Only the administrator is allowed to delete licenses. When the valid system license has expired, only the user SAP* can log on to the system. in this case, it would be dangerous to delete a license.
This is why the user SAP* is never allowed to delete a license."
Anybody can assist me with the license renewal please ?!
    TIA

My problem is solved ,, thanx whoever looked at it :).
the solution was that I downloaded and NSP license key but for an other version of the product.
    Thanx.

I have installed 10g on server 2003. Initially I have tried with user names & pwds (system , system) . It was working fine. Later I changed my computer name and tried, it's not working. I also modfied TNSnames.ora file. but still not able conect. Pls suggest me.

I have a similar problem, but it appears to be caused by a missing log file. Is there any way to correct this situation? The console output is listed below.

  • Generating Proxies for SAP Basis Objects?

    All,
Is it possible to generate proxies for your interfaces under SAP Basis Component?
    1. I checked in SPROXY on my R3 and the SAP Basis Component is not displayed  here. What I also noticed is that none of the SWCV's containing Pre Delivered Integration Content is displayed in SPROXY.
Is it necessary that the options , <b>All Objects are Modifiable and Original Objects</b> be selected for Proxies to be generated on the SAP Shipped SWCV's?
    2. As a work around ( one which did not work ) I created a Depenedency in the SLD for my SWCV on the SAP BASIS Swcv and I am now able to see the BASIS Objects in the IR under my Custom SWCV .
But even then in SPROXY , (basis Objects )message interfaces are not displayed.
Has anyone tried something of this sort? Is there some setting we need to do to enable proxy generation for SAP Delivered Components?
    Regards
    Bhavesh
PS: I am able to see my custom SWCV in SPROXY and trigger proxy calls Successfully.
I can generate a Custom Messge interface using the Message Type of the SAP Basis Component and create the Proxy to this Message interface . But, I just want to know if anyone has had success with the above concepts

    ><i>but they are already generated... do you see that ?</i>
I did notice it. But didnt dig deep enough . Will give this a real close look tom morning .
<i>>>>>Does this imply, that we cannot generae proxies on SAP Basis Components?
    indeed</i>
That answered my Question  Thanks for the info.
I guess I will have to create a message Interface will the Message Type from the BASIS Component and use this Message Interface.
The only issue I am now wondering with this approach would be, what if the Message Type structure changes during some SP upgrade? Due to some new feature being added?
    Any experiences to share michal?
Thanks a bunch for all those inputs.
    Regards
    Bhavesh
