Unable to verify credentials, 9i on NT - works with 7x ver9001100

I am able to connect to our 7x database (which is on a Solaris/Sun server) using the 9001100 ODBC driver from either an ASP or ActiveX object. Recently I attempted to use the same code to connect to a 9i database running on a Windows 2000 server, which uses Active Directory.
I am able to create a DSN, and the connection tests as functional, but when trying to connect from the website I get a "Unable to verify credentials" type of error. I can switch the DSN over to Microsoft's Oracle ODBC driver and the application will run without a problem.
I would like to resolve this and use the Oracle driver, it makes using stored procedures etc much easier, and in general I've had better luck with it in the past.

I would run Credential Manager on the client and try deleting the stored TERMSRV credentials, or adding the credentials if they are not there.  Your Internet or network address should be in the form TERMSRV/servername and user name should be Domain\User. 
I would compare the connection security settings between the Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 R2 servers.  In server manager on the Connection Broker of Windows 2012 R2, select Remote Desktop Services then the Collection for Remote Desktop.  It
will be the one that has Remote Desktop listed after Resources in the Property pane of the collection.  Select Tasks the edit properties.   Select Security.   In Windows 2008 R2, click Start/Administrative Tools/Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration.
 Under Connections, right click RDP-Tcp and select Properties.  The General tab will list the security settings.  Compare these and look for differences which might provide a clue.

  • I am unable to get Airport Extreme WiFi to work with Windows 8 Sony Laptop

    My Airport Extreme WiFi works with my Mac Book Pro, iphones, ipad and DVR's, but will not work WiFi with my Sony VAIO laptop running Windows 8.  Although it does work with the laptop using a ethernet cable.  Has anyone else had this issue and can you please tell me how to resolve the problem?

    Windows can have issues with the wireless name.
    Make sure the name conforms to windows standard.
    Short, 2-20 characters
    No spaces,
    Pure alphanumeric.
    eg AEwifi is a good wireless name.
    Fred Blog's Airport Extreme Wireless87AD34 is a really bad name.
    Test also by removing the security and just see if you can connect if the short name doesn't help.
    WPA2 Personal is really the only security worthy of the name and the password should be mix of upper and lower case plus numbers.. keep it pure alphanumeric also.
    Set fixed wireless channels at least for 2.4ghz may help, depending on your location geo standards wise.
    Test 11, 6, 1 in that order. With no security briefly. And a short name. (different name on the two bands is also a good idea).
    Then wireless is not compatible.. you should download another driver for whatever wireless card the Sony uses.. intel most likely and they have a reputation as lousy. So download latest and a few prior to that as well.

  • Unable now to import TIFs or to work with existing TIFs

    This has been observed by other people but no answers forthcoming. I used to be able to import TIFs into an earlier version of iPhoto without any problem. However, now I cannot either import TIFs (error message warning of incorrect file type or similar text). Neither can I preview or work with those already imported prior to installing iPhoto6 and/or latest OSX updates.
    Is there anyway of extracting the existing TIFs in the library ? I can't find any easy way to select by file type or filesize.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are those tiffs located that give you the error message when you try to import? If they are inside the iPhoto Library folder then that's the reason. You must move them out of that folder to be able to import them.
    What do you get in the Edit window when you try to edit an existing tiff, a white window with the spinning cog? If so Download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.

    If you wish to run a third-party 802.11g 54Mbps wireless card, 10.2.8 will support it, but I believe you also have to install AirPort 3.1.1 available here:

    The above software supports a wireless card that uses the Broadcom chipset, but no other. Here is a list of older, supported cards:

    Almost all of the newer cards that use the Broadcom require 10.3.x or newer; I believe it has to do with firmware changes on the card.

  • I'm unable to get my macbook pro to work with an Optoma tx542 projector.  I've got a VGA adaptor, and the projector works with my old iMac, just not with the new macbook.  Any ideas?

    The projector recognizes it's a mac, since I see the mac desktop background on my screen when I connect, but I'm not seeing my desktop.  Any ideas?

    ugh...i'll be sure to let you know...i'm beginning to regret buyin a mac now...one usually spends the bucks most of have dropped for a premium machine, to actually work. I don't expect every aspect to be perfect, but simple things such as functionality of applications developed for and by the same company making the machines should work...maybe its just because i'm more than a little peeved that i'm going through such trouble to do something as simple as put two pictures next to each other and upload the site (as it appears in iweb) on to the mobileme...
    I finally got it to upload, thanks Old Toad, and i got the pictures to upload...now they just don't appear next to each other as they do in iweb...i guess the good thing is that they are no longer covering text...
    now i'm presented with a second problem...i add a second entry to my blog and when i click on that directly i'm taken to a page saying it is not found...but when i go to the first entry and click next it takes me to the second entry page...although that page is ALMOST correct (the links do not have the same styling i applied to them in iweb)...
    and now i'm presented with a third problem...after adding the second entry i noticed on the blog listing page that my photo from the first entry did not move with it (another photo covering text problem)...so i tried using the graphic placeholder, but the image still does not show up on the main page...

    I assume you have verified that the iPhone hotspot works with another computer.
    It might help to reset the iPad's network.  Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You will then need to reconnect the WiFi.

    The M-audio techs were unable to tell me if Quattro would work with LE8, so I've been wasting my time and money trying to make it work.
    They also gave me conflicting opinions as to whether or not "tip" polarity was an issue when using an after-market adapter. One said definitely yes, one or two others said definitely no.
    Their phone tech line has a 20 to 40 minute wait when I call. The online support system is confusing, which even they admit. I don't think my next interface will be from M-audio.

  • Old USB Quattro interface--will it work with Logic Express 8?

    I have an old m-audio USB Quattro interface (4in/out) which I used with Cubase years ago. I have it hooked up to my wife's intel iMac with more than enough RAM. Logic seems to run fine, but I get a very weak signal through the interface. Apparently I have the correct driver. I don't mind buying a new interface if this one is not going to work, but the hard part may be in determining whether or not it will work. M-Audio doesn't seem to know (I'm less than thrilled with their support). Any experience or thoughts on this?

    I spoke with Apple Support this morning and they believe anything MobileMe related is due to the conversion over to iCloud that's taking place.
    As for other email clients, check with your host to see if settings have changed on their end. I use inmotionhosting.com and over the weekend the updated their outgoing requirements so that a password authentication is now needed.
    Hope that helps get some on the right path to resolving their issues!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    You might try the following steps:
    Restart the device by holding down the on/off button until the power down slider appears.
    Try entering your password in another location (i.e. when you are using a different wifi network)
    Reset all settings (settings > general > reset), this resets some of your settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It does not remove any of your data.
    If this doesn’t help your best option may be to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

    Is the exchange server run locally in the office or is it an outside provider?
    If outside, is it Exchange from Google services or someone else?
