Hi,
You try to build the rpd with the view and pull the view in answers and check the results. In the physical layer, you might have the logic for getting the view and you need to check its results in answer.
The table which you are using in the view, check for the data in that table in the physical layer. If thats producing results then you should not have trouble in answer.
Or you need to deploy the view.

  • View data in client B from client A in the same SID without a valid logon?

    Hi Folks
    We are planning on upgrading our 4.6C system to ERP 6.0, and are initialy considering having two clients in the same sandbox SID.  One would be for the developers to perform code remediation checks (client A), and one would contain a copy of production data for performing testing of functionality over live data (client B).
    Would it be possible to view data in client B from client A in the same system without a valid logon to client B or RFC connection to client B from client A?   For example via the use on an ABAP program to SQL the database?
    I know one can use transactions like SM30/SM31 to view, compare, and adjust data between clients, but this requires an RFC connection and valid logon to the target client.

    Short answer: yes.
    If someone has the right to write and execute ABAP reports on the system he is able to access the data of all clients. So I don't think that this setup is advisable. Don't mix development and production data in one system.

  • No data When click view data in physical table.

    Hi all,
    I am a new one for OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
    I met a problem when I creating a RPD.
    After I load all table to physical layer, I found only one table show me no data, then I go back to check the DB and existing data in that table.
    Would someone tell me how to fis this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Anne

    Steps to check it your end
    1)did u update rowcount for that table? try to update row count in that table and then try to view data in physical layer.
    two ways--
    (RPD-->tools menu-->options-->update all row count and also u can do it in physical layer -->just right click of required table and u can see update row count just select it then it will update it. after that u can try to test it.
    1) if you past it screen short/error message it could help to find the root cause
    2) make sure that table --> pointing connection pool info and user and password etc
    Thanks

  • Unable to view data in Physical layer of RPD

    I have OBIEE installed on my local machine using Oracle 10g as the database installed on a remote machine. I am able to create the DSN and test the connection pool on my local machine.
    The Call interface is OCI 10g in the connection pool. I am able to import tables into the database in the Physical layer of the repository but when I try to VIEW Data in the physical layer, it throws me an error stating,
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor at OCI call OCILogon.
    nQsError: 17014 Could not connect to Oracle Database.
    I have oracle 10g client installed on my local machine. I am able to view the tables and the data from SQL PLus. In OBIEE i am able to import tables but cannot view data.
    Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

    Sounds like one of my common issues. After you do the import, go back and check the connection pool. What I typically run into is that it has switched to the OCI connection rather than the ODBC connection used for the import, but it is still using the name of the ODBC DSN that was used for the import. Change it to the TNS name or the host:port/service and try again.

  • Admin Tool Error When Viewing Data in Physical Layer nQSError: 43093

    I am trying to view the data in my Admin Tool in the Physical Layer, I am getting:
    [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.
    [nQSError: 43093] An error occurred while processing the EXECUTE PHYSICAL statement.
    [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 904, message: ORA-00904: "STUDENT_NUMBER": invalid identifier at OCI call OCIStmtExecute.
    [nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed.
    I know why I am getting the ORA-00904 error (the data structure in the external database has changed the the column STUDENT_NUMBER does not exist). However, I am getting TNS Listener errors when trying to re-import the changed data structure (import -> through server). I have checked my ODBC connection and it seems that is not the issue. This functionality existed before (I did pull in the data structure, that is where my error is originating from). Is there something I am missing?
    Any insight is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kyle

    Hi,
    After an upgrade, these kind of issues can happen for several reasons as below
    1. Wrong OCI Call Interface. If ODBC 3.5 has been used an Interface in 10g, then the upgraded .rpd might still be using the same even when you have got a number of different options to choose from in 11g. To resolve issues of this type change the underlying database version in the physical layer of the .rpd. Once, you make this change you can see a variety of changes in the queries, performance etc for good.
    2. After you did a 'View Data' on the table, go through the NQQuery.log to see the query it is firing (Yes, you need to have log level set for this user though) and analyze it from the DB end. See, if you run the query in the DB it is fast, but if it is the Admin tool that hangs up with this query. In this case check the network speed, database settings, system DSN driver etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

    Hi,
    I'm confused about the last bit, you did a database import to get the tables into the RPD, which worked, but now they are not showing in the phsyical layer of the rpd? They should be there under a database with the name of the ODBC/OCI that you used when you imported them.
    If they are not there then this would make me think that the import of the tables has not worked, try importing just one and see what happens.

  • Activation Date 17 days later from Installation Kit! Ridiculous!

    Has this happened to anyone else out there? I ordered my DSL package on August 12th and my activation Date is on August 29th! Whats the point of receiving the Installation Kit quickly but having to wait 2 weeks for it to work! My job requires me to have the internet and its very disappointing to know I have to wait this long for it to work! I would have chosen another service provider if I knew this! Then I called yesterday expressing my frustration and they said they would get back to me today and they have yet to call me! What a bummer and my service hasnt event begun yet!

    If you have a NID outside of your home, you may want to see if one of the test jacks within the NID give service. It could be possible the inside wiring isn't connected to Verizon's network. You might have already tried this already, but check this FAQ out: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6110

  • Setting current row of a view based on row selected from another view.

    Hi,
    We have two Views V1 and V2. Both views are based on the same tables except that V1 is based on multiple tables. In our application we are showing a read only table which is based on V1. The user can select a particular record for edit. But the edit page is based on V2 and as a result the first record always shows up for editing even though the user may have selected another record.
    Is there a way we can pass the primary key of the record selected from V1 to V2 and set that record as the current record.
    We have tried setCurrentRowWithKey, but this did not help.

    Hello,
    post the PK as an URL parameter within the link you open the edit page. Then read this parameter in your page (the page with this link) action class and send it to an ActionBinding:
    JUCtrlActionBinding action = (JUCtrlActionBinding) bc.findCtrlBinding("nameOfBinding");
    ArrayList arrayList= new ArrayList();
    arrayList.add(0,primaryKey);
    action.setParams(arrayList);
    action.doIt();
    In your AppModule create a method nameOfBinding with primaryKey as in parameter
    public void nameOfBinding (Number primaryKey )
    getV2().setWhereClause("PRIMARY_KEY=:0");
    getV2().setWhereClauseParam(0,primaryKey );
    getV2().executeQuery();
    In the AppModule you have to publish this method in "ClientInterface".
    Create an Action binding for this method in your list jsp.
    Hope this helps

  • Can't view data from BI Anaytics

    Hi,
    I am new to BI suite. currently our repository has two different connection pool associated with two different schema. Since my ex-coworker built the first one and left. I don't want to mess up with his work. I built another connection pool with different schema. There is no problem with deployment and i am able to view data in physical layer. But when i login to BI analytics and i found i am not able to view data. The error is:
    Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P

(HY000)
    SQL Issued: SELECT 0 s_0, "Sample Sales"."Products"."Brand" s_1 FROM "Sample Sales" FETCH FIRST 65001 ROWS ONLY
    My DBA told me it might be ODBC driver problem since he told me he didn't even see the query from database monitor. When i check ODBC setup in BI server and found there is default odbc setup under System DSN.
    does anybody know what this problem is?
    Thanks

    Good day !

    Hi,
    *• Relational Database System* including Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle TimesTen In Memory Database, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Informix, Sybase and other ODBC compliant data sources
    *• OLAP Sources* including Oracle Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle Database OLAP Services, Oracle RPAS, Microsoft Analysis Services Cubes, and SAP BW Infocubes.
    *• XML Data Sources* including access to other types of data servers (e.g., other non-relational servers), Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and Web Services.
    So, we should use ODBC 3.5 as Call Interface for Sybase.

  • Viewing dat attachements

    I am unable to view dat attachments that come from my friend with a PC. They quickly flash into view (which makes me think they are viewable) and then disappear. What gives?? Any setting that I am missing??
    Many thanks,
    TheBearTrack

    If your friend is using Outlook, ask your friend to use Plain Text or HTML for message formatting (Plain Text being preferable) and not RTF. This is a problem with Outlook when the sender uses RTF for message composition with attachments.
    If your friend does not want to make a wholesale message formatting change for all sent messages, this can be designated for your contact preferences only in Outlook's address book. Outlook includes an option to send all messages to a particular contact in HTML, RTF or Plain Text regardless the default message formatting settings.

  • IS_Data Insight View Data Function Limitation

    Hi Experts,
    Is there any limitation to view data of a table using View Data function in Data Insight module in Information Steward. I come across a strange issue with this, the details are explained below.
    I am trying to perform Data profiling on table, as part of this I imported table into a Data Insight project. When i tried to view data of a table using View Data function, it is showing blank like (0 from 998987). I am able able to see data in database and even in DS designer too.
    Then i created a view on top of this table by selecting all columns and tried to view data, again showed blank. Then i removed some columns in view and tried, now it showed data. The table contains 150 columns, I used around 110 columns in view.
    My question here is, is there any limitations in Data Insight for viewing data apart 500 records. Will View Data function consider the number of Rows or the size of data to display the data. If it consider these two, is there any option available in IS to control these two parameters i.e., increase / decrease the size or no of rows.
    If anyone come across with this issue, could you please help me if any solutions to fix this.
    Thanks,
    Ramakrishna Kamurthy

    Hello Rama,
    In IS 4.2 this limitation is actually stated.
    See here: IS_421_user_en.pdf in Related Information section pg 44 which states that:
    The software displays only 500 records when you view data from an SAP table.
    Also more details available in section: 2.5.10.2 Limit of 500 records when viewing data from SAP tables.
    The software displays only 500 records when you view data from an SAP table.
    Views that contain SAP tables have the potential to be quite large, especially when they are joined with other SAP tables. The limit of 500 records when viewing data prevents your computer from hanging or never completing the task because the tables were too large.
    In addition to the 500 records limit, you can take steps to enhance performance in the following ways:
    ● Reduce the size of the file by mapping fields, join conditions, filters, and so on to limit the data in the table to information that you really need.
    ● Use SAP ABAP-supported functions in forming expressions in views. Using non-supported functions is allowed, but doing so may adversely affect performance.
    ● Use the View Data filter tools when you view and export data from SAP tables.
    With the 500 records limit for viewing SAP table data, there is a potential for no records showing up in the View Data window.
    This could happen, for example, when the view contains a child view, the child view contains one or more SAP tables, and a join is set up to join the entire data set.
    A message appears at the top of the View Data window that instructs you to export the data to an external source (text file, CSV, or Excel file) to view all of the records.
    I hope this is helpful.
    Mike
