Uncaught exeption:java.lang.Error when i click on options.

Hello Guys.
I bought my BB 8900 curve last week.I was really happy until 2 days ago.I downloaded appworld to my device.But when i try to open appword it says upgrade your service plan and etc.So try I tought maybe i can change some preferences in advanced options.
   After that time, when i click options,it wouldn't open.it says   UNCAUGHT EXEPTION:JAVA.LANG.ERROR.So i can not use options choise anymore .Because of that i can not changed anything and i couldn't turned back to factory settings.
  IS anyone idea about that?I mean i bought a week ago and I am so pissed off.I am waiting your replies guys.

 I think is time to reload the Software
Follow this exact procedure originally posted by Bumblepie
The software seems to have come corrupt.
Make sure you  have the latest Software for your device and carrier installed onto the computer.
click here to get ur carrier software - http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
This is the device Software, not the desktop manager.
Download and double click to install to your ur computer. Don't plug the device in yet.
Once done that, go to C Drive: Program Files: Common Files: Research in Motion: App Loader and double click on loader.exe.
Once the welcome screen comes up, plug in the device the battery and hit next. When you see the PIN number appear after maybe a few minutes press next.
Once it gets to the device application part, Select only things you need, untick all other languages etc.
On the last page before you hit finish, you will see a 'ADVANCED' option, click this and make sure both the check boxes are fixed.
This will fix ur issue.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
If your issue has been solved, please mark the post was solved.

  • The technique to solving Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error (and probably many like it too)

    It was a blessing in disguise that the above error came about or else I wouldn't have taken the effort to find a solution. At first, I tried to delete several apps, do a hard reboot several variations but it still wouldn't go. Then I thought of downgrading the OS back to the default version so that made me give the Blackberry Desktop Manager a try. Linking handphone to notebook, it was only then I found out an updated version was available so immediately I decided to update since the jump from version 5 to 6 was worth it. After the corrupted version was wiped out being replaced by a newer one, my problem was solved!

    1. Try to remove the batteries first reboot that will clear the application error
    2. Also try uninstalling the last application you installed before the error appears and reboot / unplug the battery. You can reinstall these applications later.

  • Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error: 137 in JavaFX

    Hi
    I am getting the error mentioned in subject while trying to Run a JavaFX application "Run in Mobile Emulator" mode. I am trying to use split() to separate concatenated String. The code snippet is given below :
    *onMouseClicked: function(e : MouseEvent) : Void {*
    println("Inside on Mouse Clicked...");
    var sample = "Sherlyn|masrrev|Other";
    var names = sample.split("\\|");
    *println("{names.toString()}");*
    The error that I get is pasted below:

    testsplit is the Javafx project created in Netbeans.
    However the same application executes without any error when run in "Standard Execution" and "Run in Browser" mode. I am using Netbeans --> right click on the project --> Properties --> In Project Properties Window choose --> Run --> Standard Execution. or --? Run in Browser.
    Is it that split() is not supported by Mobile Emulator? Please do get back to me if anybody has any answer to this.
    Thanks in advance..

    I don't have NetBeans, so I can't answer for sure.
    I had to [read a bit|http://developers.sun.com/mobility/personal/articles/pbp_pp/] on differences between profiles, in particular [between CDC and CLDC|http://www.java-tips.org/java-me-tips/midp/what-are-cdc-and-cldc.html]. Apparently StringTokenizer belongs to CDC, which is available only to high end mobile devices. If I look at [Semsung phones' Device Specifications|http://developer.samsungmobile.com/Developer/index.jsp], most of them, for example, support only CLDC 1.1 with MIDP 2.0.
    On the other hand, [MIDP 2.0|http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/] seems to have even less classes & interfaces than you show, so it is confusing.
    Here is the dumbest method, doing all the work by hand. Not properly tested due to lack of time (check with separator at end, at start, consecutive, no separators...):
    function SplitCLDC(string: String, separator: String): String[]
      var parts: String[];
      var prevPos = 0;
      while (true)
        var pos = string.indexOf(separator, prevPos);
        if (pos < 0)
          var lastPart = string.substring(prevPos);
          insert lastPart into parts;
          break;
        var part = string.substring(prevPos, pos);
        prevPos = pos + 1;
        insert part into parts;
      return parts;
    }

    NOW I HAVE RELOADED THE OS AND DONE MANY THINGS TO CURE IT I RESEARCHED EVERYTHING TO FIX THIS ERROR BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK ANY IDEAS ???

    Hi psn93
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
    If you already tried reload without success, then you may need to use some third party software like BBSAK to compltely wipe your device and then load a fresh OS pack on your device.In addition please remember after installing the OS don't restore anything from the backup files,do a selective restore i;e , restore only your Contacts and calander entries. Try this again :
    1.Locate your Carrier and Download the OS you desire from here and Install it in your PC or Laptop Carriers
    (make sure you are downloading for the same model as you have )
    2. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
        Then if it allow  perform your backup of your device.
    3.Search your C: drive for Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your Pc change your folders option to show hidden files/folders ) Skip step- 3 if using your Carrier OS pack .
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
        C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    4. Use BBSAK from  http://bbsak.org/   and wipe the device then after you get the error 507 ( no OS ) then proceed to next step.
    5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path       will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double click Loader.exe.
    Update will continue just follow the onscreen instructions,when it completes see if problem resolves.

  • "Crash in progress" Error when I click "Format Options" under "Audio Output"

    In the Render Queue, I selected Custom under "Output Module". I changed the Format to "QuickTime Movie" using the JPEG - Photo codec (is it a codec?) However when I clicked on "Format Options" under "Audio Output", I got this.

    There are two things here. The first and most important part is that, if there's a button, it shouldn't crash when pressing it. Agreed. Looks like a QT-related issue (if reverting to an earlier version of QT will fix it). But in any case, please feel free to file a bug report explaining the problem here.
    The second thing would also be true if the button worked flawlessly: If you want to send to a client a video/audio file with reduced file sizes, bear in mind that Quicktime has not added a specific codec for this purpose since the early 2000s. They chose to follow the standards-based MPEG-4/H264 format. After Effects will make much better H264 files with compressed audio as well, if you pick "H264" as a format in the Output Module. An H264 file with MP4 extension will play perfectly on both Quicktime and the latest version of Flash. An H264 file with MOV extension should have the same quality (but not when done from AE), and it will only be compatible with Quicktime. They are otherwise identical.
    Again, nothing in point 2 contradicts the fact that it shouldn't crash.

    There is a loader.exe tool located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (or if you are using a 64 bit C:\Program Files (X86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    Remove the battery from your BlackBerry and launch the Loader tool. You will see either USB PIN: Unknown or your actual device PIN.
    As the loading process starts, there will be a list of steps to be completed in the loading process. One of those steps listed will say "Wait for Device Initialization". When you see the arrow get to this steps, reinsert your battery.
    If you still get the same error, let me know and we will investigate further from there.

  • Java.lang.error

    Hi, I have BlackBerry Curve 9220. before I get to sleep last night my BB was okay until when I woke up its already
    Uncaught exception
    java.lang.error
    and many more pops up.
    The main is plain white and the apps are alined left.
    can you help me please

    Hello Vilorosheramy
    This error usually means you have a data corruption , then what you can do:
    1. Performing a backup
    2 . Remove the device
    3 . Restore Data
    To make a backup using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager
    Connect the BlackBerry to the computer running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    You click on Device - make backup.
    Select Complete.
    Choose a location to save the backup file and then you click Backup .
    Then to remove the device from the main menu go to options - security options - security wipe.
    Post . - This step will erase all your data and will return to the state the BlackBerry out of box.
    Once you restart your BlackBerry , use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager again to restore data.
    If your problem evidences the persistence you'll have to make an OS upgrade your Blackberry.

  • Uncaught exception java.lang.nullpointerexception on 9300

    Help - please can some one help. I get the above msg (uncaught exception java.lang.nullpointerexception) when I try and access my emails or txt msg. I can make & recieve calls. Have tried removing battery and resetting, also removed the email and reinstalled, but still get the same error. I havent added any new Apps or downloaded any thing on the blackberry.
    Thank you in advance for your help

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
    Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
    There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
    Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
    KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
    The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • MediaPlayer crashes with Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Errror: 137

    Hi,
    I have a media player running on JavaFX 1.2 Mobile using Netbeans 6.7.1 with DefaultFxPhone emulator using JDK 1.6 Update 14.
    When starting or stopping the media player (ie. calling mediaplayer.play() or mediaplayer.pause()) using a onKeyPressed or onMousePressed event it causes this error. If i call mediaplayer.play() anywhere else in my code the media plays fine.
    the complete error is:
    Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error: 137
    - net.demo.javafx.mobile.defaultmediaplayermobile.DefaultMediaControlComponentMobile$2.lambda(), bci=190
    - net.demo.javafx.mobile.defaultmediaplayermobile.DefaultMediaControlComponentMobile$2.invoke(), bci=2
    - net.demo.javafx.mobile.defaultmediaplayermobile.DefaultMediaControlComponentMobile$2.invoke(), bci=5
    - javafx.scene.Node$NodeInputListener.mouseClicked(), bci=114
    - com.sun.fxme.input.ReleaseEvent.dispatch(), bci=131
    - com.sun.fxme.input.MouseEventDispatcher.run(), bci=71
    - com.sun.fxme.runtime.RunnableQueue$Worker.run(), bci=222
    The event listener contains code like:
    onKeyPressed: function (e:KeyEvent){
    mediaPlayer.play();
    Also the exact same code works fine when run as a desktop application in netbeans (as opposed to mobile).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Dave.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't quite solve the problem. It looks to me in the media browser tutorial the user has an icon on the screen to re-orientate it. I'd hoped the system could detect the screen orientation changing automatically - hence the need for the bind. I guess that the fact that the medial browser tutorial doesn't do this suggests its not currently supported functionality.

  • Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException error after connecting to BlackberryPlaybook

    Hi,
    I know that there are many other threads about this error but they're all to do with bbm.
    I have this error with my web browser, whenever I press the button for options, everything in the browser freezes. If I hold down the options button my multi task bar DOES pop up, but my browser is still frozen and if I leave and return the error ( Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException ) pops up.
    I noticed this started happening after I began using bridge and tethering with my playbook.
    The first time it happened I rebooted my phone and it DID work but I can't keep rebooting my phone for this, can I?
    My phone is now almost two years old (come this December) somebody please help? I don't want to send it in for repairs.

  • Hi plZ help me to fix the error to my Blackberry 9300 Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

    ;   hi good plzz do help me to fix the error to my bb9300 i just update my bb9300 the the i see
    error b    Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException    anyone here can help me to fix i appreciate

    I am guessing that you are not a Java developer, and it is not your application that is causing the Null Pointer Exception.
    It sounds like you have updated the OS on your Blackberry device and one of the applications that you have installed is not coping with the upgrade.
    If you press on an application icon and then that causes the error, then you know there is a problem with that application and so you need to report this to the developers of that application and get an updated version.
    If this is happening when you restart your device, then it appears that one of the installed applications is failing at start up time and so it is not obvious which application.  So you need to see which of your applications doesn't appear to be providing all the functions it used to, and it would be a good guess that it is that application that is causing the problem.  Again you need to go back to the developer to get an update.
    Let us know if that does not help.
    Also you have posted in the Java developer forum.  If this really is not your program causing the problem, then I suggest a better place to post a question relating to the 9300 is in the appropriate device forum here:
