Underlying adt command in cs5.5 ... for AIR Android

Hello,
I am trying to submit my app to the amazon market.  I got back a message from them that says I need to override the air download url by using the adt to package my app.  So, I found a couple links on how to do this and did it.  Problem is that when I try to use adb and install the apk on my phone (with the amazon version) it installs ok then I just get a blank screen when my app loads.  So, I'm assuming I have something wrong with my adt command and was wondering if there is anyway to see what cs5.5 actually passes to adt and just copy that command.  Is that possible.  Also, here is my adt command and my adb command.  Any help would be great.
adt command:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR2.6\bin\adt" -package -target apk -airDownloadURL  http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/dl/android?p=com.adobe.air -storetype pkcs12 -keystore keys.p12 -storepass whatwhat superKaleidoscope.apk superKaleidoscope-app.xml superKaleidoscope.swf newThumb36.png newThumb48.png thumb72.png
I get back this weird "test" word like below
test
then to install it I do :
"C:\Users\J\Downloads\android-sdk_r11-windows
\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools\adb.exe" install superKaleidoscope.apk
1669 KB/s (160722 bytes in 0.094s)
        pkg: /data/local/tmp/superKaleidoscope.apk
Success
Am I missing something?

Thought maybe it's some problem with my app xml file, but I don't think so.  Here is what I've got... Anybody, anybody at all got any ideas?

    Hi Colette
Are you saying that there should be .hhc, .hhk, .hhp, etc. files for each topic?
Those are project files and you would not see one for each topic. There is one (maybe more, depending on what you are doing) for each project.
One thing you may wish to try is to enable the "Use lowercase file names" option in your SSL recipe.
After you do this, generate and publish again.
    Cheers... Rick

  • How can I use a file in flash cs6 that I made in flash cs5.5 air for android

I have made an app in in air for android in flash cs5.5 air for android, and I want to edit it in cs6 and play it in cs6.
But if I put Ctrl+Enter I got an error: createWin process failed with error 2: system couldn't find the file. I think the problem is that I'am using air for android 2.6 version in flash cs5.5 and version 3.2 in flash cs6. I have searched the web and found out that you can add older air versions using the sdk manager and I have tried it but first I get the error that the version of the sdk I am trying to install is not valid and after some files that I added to the sdk folder I get this error:Only SDK higher than version 3.4.2540 may be added.
I there a possible way to update the air for android for an fla or apk? Or how can I let my originally file work fine in flash cs6??

    system couldn't find the file
If you can´t get a more specific hint why your project can´t compile then I can think of some reasons theis error might occur
1.You had files included besides the swf, like videos, audio files, xml files, that are not present in the place air expects them to be
2.somewhere in your createWin functions there is a class import needed that isn`t present in 3.2 anymore, for example some classes or functions from classes that were valid in 2.6 are not any more in 3.2
    3. to achieve better eror logging, allow for debugging in the publishing options and see what specific lines in your code throw the error
4.any air app needs a cert file, this needs to be created once, if you migrated to e new system it might be you never created that file which air expects to even begin the compiling process
once you isolate the problem, report back

  • How to compile an .air app from the ADT command line?

    Hi,
I would like to compile an .air app from the ADT command line.
    Does anybody have an example?
I don't know how to add the AIR SDK path and a folder to it.
Is there a generator for the command line availabble?
    Thanks

Correction: it seems that Applescripts and some similar scripts can be called from the command line using "osascript scriptname". I don't speak automator but you might like to try it. osascript seems to come with severe limitations though, for instance it doesn't allow user interaction such as dialogue boxes.

  • Air for Eclair (Android 2.1)

Okay so I followed this video tutorial to the T.  http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play.php?id=123 One thing the Lee did not mention in this tutorial is that when you download the USB drivers from the Android SDK you still have to install them to the device. At least that is what I had to do for my Nexus One. Here is the issue I am having I can install the runtime just fine but when I publish the .apk file through flash an push it to the phone to start, it starts but it is just a black screen. I even tried it with various simple apps and still no luck. Has anybody ran in to this issue? Any advice will be appreciated thanks

well I just go this email:

    Hi,
Many of you have found that older apks packaged with an older version of our AIR SDK do not work with the newest version of the AIR Runtime we just dropped to this prerelease (6/4/2010).  Specifically, a black screen is shown instead of the application.
Please make sure you package your application with the latest AIR SDK (6/4/2010) when running your application on a device with the latest 6/4/2010 AIR Runtime.
We are currently making significant changes to the AIR Android SDK and Runtime, so this may happen occasionally with our prerelease drops.  To be sure that your app works properly, please make sure that your apk is packaged with an AIR SDK that is included in the same drop as your target AIR Runtime.

  • What is the minimumPatchLevel for Air 2.7.1 ?

I have an Air/Android app and I would like to make sure the user gets prompted to install the latest AIR runtime, in case he/she haven't updated in a while.
I understand that setting the minimumPatchLevel in the manifest will do the trick, but how do I find out the one that corresponds to Air 2.7.1 ?

In general, NativeApplication.nativeApplication.runtimePatchLevel reports the patch level of the runtime hosting the application.
However, unless you're interested in a specific minimum patch level (under a major runtime version), specifying the correct application descriptor namespace (e.g. http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.7) should be sufficient. For submission to the Amazon App Store, you'll need to ensure that the correct link for AIR is specified when packaging your application's .apk. • Creating .swf from .fla file using ADT command line

    Dear Adobe Community and Moderators:
Is it possible to use the ADT command line to directly compile an .fla file into an .swf file? Context: I have an app created in Flash Pro CS55 (6 months worth of work), but now found Adobe has dropped Flash Pro in favor of Flash Builder or Flex. I have some native extensions I want to use for iOS, but they require Air 3.1 to compile (swf-version=14) i.e. using the MessageUI framework in a static .a library for an Air app. Flash Pro CS55's top end limit seems to be swf-version=13 (Flash 11). Because of heavy investment in time and energy into our Air app in Flash Pro, it's not feasible to convert to Flex by end of week. I tried creating an .swc file, and taking the library.swf from that, but alas, a catch-22, Flash Pro CS55 only compiles to swf-version=13.
Is there any way to either (a) directly compile my root .swf file (from the .fla file) using a command line (so I can use ADT from Air 3.1 SDK) or (b) some way I can marry a native extension I've found I can use on GitHub which is swf-version=14? Again, my issue is that I have to use Air 3.1 since only it supports iOS5.
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments are highly appreciated (including if it's not possible to do what I'm trying to do).
Thank you Adobe community in advance,
    Alex

I have the exact same question, please respond if you hold the answer to this! mxmlc won't work for me since I have created too many assets within the fla already! Thanks!

  • How do you get USB debugging for AIR iOS working?

How do you get USB debugging for AIR iOS working?
    Here is my current configuration:
    Flash Builder 4.6
Flex 4.6.0 (build 23201) with AIR 3.3 Beta and Flash 11.3 Beta playerglobal.swc (both merged in to the current Flex build)
    Flex 4.6 release: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/flex-sdk-download.html
    AIR 11.3 Beta: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplatformruntimes/air3-3/
    Flash Player 11.3 Beta: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11-3.html
I read through the Flash Player 11.3 and AIR 3.3 release notes (http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/shared/air3-3_flashplayer11-3 _p1_releasenotes.pdf) and this is all that is stated:
USB debugging for AIR iOS iOS developer can now connect directly? to the desktop via USB to debug mobile applications.
Every other feature seems to have a description of how to accomplish it other than USB debugging for AIR iOS.
    Anyone else get this working?
The main reason I want to get this working is because our IT department is very strict on our firewalls and it is relatively hard to open the required ports to debug on our own devices through the network.

I've found one way of doing it using command-line on Windows.  I'm sure someone will make it easier by building it into something like a FlashDevelop template soon.
    Steps are...
    1. Add a "-listen 7936" param to the packager.  Something like, "adt -package -target -debug-interpreter .... -listen 7936". Install IPA on device.
    2. Find out the handle of your iOS device by running "lib\aot\idb\idb -devices".  In my case it is "2". Will look something like...
    List of attached devices
    Handle    UUID
        2    {your UUID here}
    3. Forward the local_port to the remote_port for the device_handle.  Something like "lib\aot\idb\idb -forward 7936 7936 2".
    4. Start Flash Debugger in another command prompt from your FlexSDK directory.  Something like "flexsdk\bin\fdb -p 7936".
    5. Run your app.
    6. Type the "(fdb) run" command in the debug command line.
    7. May need to type "(fdb) continue".
    Hope that helps.

  • AIR - Android -- A piece of ****

    Hi,
I spent my precious 2 days time to write an application (AIR-Android) which can play internet radio stations (streamed audio). Every thing worked great when I used 'Test Movie' or Ctrl+ENTER. But same is not working when I generated the .apk and installed on HTC Desire HD (running Android 2.2 and have AIR with latest updates).
I have predefined few internet radio stations and clicking on the station name should start playing the radio. I have used the SoundChannel with 3 second buffering option. On the device application triggers the buffering event but never comes out of that or plays the audio.
    I have tried few things:
    1. Prepared a test file with only one station
    2. In publish settings --> Audio Stream set the bit rate to 24kbps which is same as that station is streamed
    3. Increased the script limit to 30 seconds
    4. Tried to use Security.allowDomain() which caused runtime error (3207 Application-sandbox content cannot access this feature)
I used the station "http://stream.radiosai.net:8004" for testing. The station is active, streaming in MP3 format and able to listen through the Windows Media Player / VLC.
I prepared a self signed AIR for desktop as well and installed on my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) but same problem.
I have prepared this using Air for Android extn for Flash CS5.
Please let me know if anybody has faced the same problem, suggest me if I am really missing anything.
Here the AS3 code used for testing.

Its very sad that adobe has created something fully buggy and works only on IDE but not on actual device. More sad part is adobe is not even cared to have a look into the issue.

    Hi Chris / tzeng,
Let me put it in much cleaner way :
What I am trying to achieve?
    - Listen / play internet radio (IR) stations.
    - Links are taken from : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Music_streams & few from Shoutcast
What are all the available formats for IR station URL?
    1. http://server_name:NNNN/ where NNNN is port number
         - http://stream.radiosai.net:8004
         - http://wjab.streamguys.net:80/
         - http://radio2.trancemission.fm:80/
    2. http://server_ip_address:NNNN
         - http://65.60.19.44:80/
    3. http://server_name_OR_ip/stream/xyz
         - http://scfire-ntc-aa03.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1025
         - http://208.80.52.246/ESPNRADIOCMP3
    4. http://server_name_OR_ip:NNNN/xyz.mp3
         - http://stream.transmissionfm.com:8000/techno-high.mp3
         - http://av.adobe.com/podcast/csbu_dev_podcast_epi_2.mp3
Please share if anybody came across different format than these.....
What is working on device and what is not working?
Any URL of format 3 & 4 is working on the device.
Any URL of format 1 & 2 is not working on the device.
What happens if the swf is opened in flash player like debugger version (flashplayer_10_sa_debug)?
Tried with 4 URL each of different format. Debugger player is able to play all the stations.
What happens if the swf is opened in IE browser with Flash plugin?
Only URL of format 3 & 4 works.
What happens if 'Test Movie' is used in IDE?
Only URL of format 3 & 4 works.
Now question is why URL with format 1 & 2 fails? Why same links work on debugger version or VLC or windows media player?
I have captured the packets sent(received) from(at) device (HTC Desire HD) using WireShark (on Windows 7). I dont see any option to attach the files. Will try to send as private message.
After a deep search I found that this issue is already faced : http://forums.adobe.com/message/3027799

  • Feature Request for AIR 2.5 Packager for iOS

1st please include the AVM2 - other VMs are being allowed, it may be possible that your VM will be allowed as well (if it doesn't load remote code).
2nd - a publish mode that does direct to iOS publishing/testing - like on Android devices. This could be achieved with a publish mode that creates a decoupled AIR app shim that can receive an ABC binary blob (a swf essentially) that we can sync with iTunes (and have running/ ready to receive binary data from Flash CS5) for development and testing purposes.
3rd - even if Apple will not allow #1 above, still produce #2. ;-)

I'd like fast app testing, like is in GameSalad, but in the meantime I work with Flash in a way that's reasonably quick, at least if you're a Mac user:
    1. I publish the ipa file, and I have ipa set to open in StuffitExpander.
    2. Double click on the ipa, and you get a Payload folder with the app inside.
    3. Drag the app straight to any of your connected devices in the Organizer window of Xcode. No need to even delete the previous build.
Between Test Movie and the ability to quickly get things onto the devices, without the documented iTunes sync approach, I often go through dozens of test builds a day.

  • AIR + Android audio playback in background

    Hello everbody,
at the moment I am evaluating the realisation auf a radioplayer using a rtmp stream for android devices.
There are two question for which I could not find any advices or resoltions.
    My questions are:
1.) Is it possible to play/continue an audiostream, even if the app itself is pushed into background?
2.) How are updates handled for apps in Android-Store? Is it the same as with the updateroutine for AIR on Desktops?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    wman

    Hi Varun,
    thanks for your answers.
Are there any ressources/links, maybe on adobe devnet, available for audio playback while app is in background?
I already searched the web so far, but could not find any hints.
but anyway thanks for your response!

  • How can I read a document created under "pages" on a Mac book air on an other computer

How can I read a document created under "pages" on a Mac book air on an other computer or even send this document in a mail to anyone ?

Only Pages, Preview, Pages for iCloud beta, and Pages v2 or later on IOS 7 can open native Pages v5.2.2 (.pages) documents. Sending a Pages v5.2.2 document to someone without Pages v5.2.2 is futile.
If you are using Gmail or Dropbox, you will need to right-click on that Pages document, and then choose compress from the contextual menu. You can then attach filename.pages.zip, because it appears as a single document, and not a folder.
Pages v5.2.2 has a Share button on the Toolbar. Providing your document is already in iCloud storage, you can Send a Link to iCloud via the following:
The Share toolbar icon also allows you to Send a Copy to Email, Messages, and AirDrop. This will present you with the document export sheet, the same one you get if you chose to File > Export To menu item, as the alternative.
If you are sharing document content with an MS Office user, then the document you want to send them is either a Word .docx, or .doc. If they want just a read-only view of your content, send a PDF, for improved cross-platform exchange.

  • Here is how to enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Apps

I just discovered that with a very simple native extension method, I can enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Applications.
This gets you the full screen icon in the top right, and it works perfectly with no changes to my code. (Obviously only works on Lion and above, since this is a Lion feature)
    Enjoy.
    Here's the code:
FREObject _EnableFullScreenMode(FREContext ctx, void* functionData, uint32_t argc, FREObject argv[])
//We should be okay to do this, even on 10.6, according to this post:
            //http://www.cocoabuilder.com/archive/cocoa/311124-implementing-full-screen-for-10-7-but-app-should-also-run-on-10-6.html
//We can't use [NSApp mainWindow] - didn't appear to work
            //This seems to though:
            NSArray * allWindows = [NSApp windows];
            if (allWindows.count > 0)
                NSWindow *mainWindow = [allWindows  objectAtIndex: 0];
                NSWindowCollectionBehavior behavior = [mainWindow collectionBehavior];
                behavior |= NSWindowCollectionBehaviorFullScreenPrimary;
                [mainWindow setCollectionBehavior:behavior];
//TODO: Return a boolean instead depending on if we found the main window
            return NULL;

How can I target Adobe Air 2.5 when using Flash Builder 4.5 so I can develop for Adobe Air for TV?
When I change the app.xml file to point to 2.5, I get the following error:
"Namespace 2.5.0 in the application descriptor file should be equal or higher than the minimum version 2.6.0 required by Flex SDK."

I was finally able to get my app on a Samsung TV. Here's some more info on this subject. You actually have to overlay the Air 2.6 SDK - not the 2.5 SDK.
Also make sure when you finally package the TV app to change the application XML to point to 2.5,. During development you can leave it as 2.6.

What tools do developers use to create AIR 2.5.1 apps for TVs?
Developers can use the following tools:
    AIR 2.6 SDK
Flash Professional CS5 Extension for AIR 2.5 (now an integral feature in Flash Professional CS5.5)
    Flash Builder 4.5
Note: Developers can use the AIR 2.6 SDK for developing apps for AIR 2.5.1 for TV. In Flash Professional, set the publish settings to Adobe AIR 2.5. In Flash Builder, set the AIR namespace to 2.5 in the app descriptor file:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.5">.
If you are using Flash Builder 4.5, you must do the following:
    Download the Flex 4.1.0.16076 SDK.
    Download the AIR 2.6 SDK.
Copy each file from the AIR 2.6 SDK into the corresponding directory within the Flex 4.1 SDK, replacing the Flex original variants.
To use this SDK within Flash Builder, select your project in the Flash Builder package explorer.
Choose Project > Properties to open the project's Properties dialog box.
Select Flex Compiler in the list and then click the "Configure Flex SDKs" link to open the Preferences dialog box.
Click the Add button, browse to the SDK, and then click OK until you get back to the project's Properties dialog box.
Click the "Use a specific SDK" option and then pick Flex 4.1 from the drop-down menu.
You must also replace the default WindowedApplication element with Application in your project's MXML file.
