Unknown error blocking purchase of apps

What do i do when Could not sign in an unknown error has occurred ...I just set up payment details on my iPad so I could download an app...but can't access anything as this unknown error keeps appearing...I cannot get into payment details... As I am being blocked by requests for my username and ID.which it then tells me again that an error has occurred. I have not changed ,my password etc and am going round in circles. Maddening.

Im sorry I will try to be more clear.. and I appreciate all of ur input. Wi-fi works fine.. everything opens and functions fine on the I pad. The problem is I will click on app store or the I tunes store...it opens fine and I am able to look at and download apps etc... but after being in the appstore or I tunes store for a couple of minutes I get kicked out to the I pads home screen. Its like pushing the home button but I didn't. It only seems to do this when im in the app store or I tunes store. I have been using the chrome browser and other downloaded apps such as ebay just fine with out this problem occurring. Not sure about safari as I dont use it and use chrome instead. Um I don't think the home button its self is faulty because it works fine and as stated before this only happens when I am in the appstore or I tunes . I've only had this I pad 1 64gb wi-fi for a few days .. I got it off of ebay it was stuck in restore mode getting error code 1611. I was able to successfully Restore it with I tunes and it running ios 5.1. Seams to work great besides the problem being mentioned.

Had the problem also. Found in the forums and it worked for me:
go to settings
go to app store or "store" on my ipad
click on the apple id
sign out
sign in, again with id and password
then do update.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

An error on purchasing an app in Applestore

I have recently bought an iPad for my daughter so quite new to using apple products. I have tried to purchase an app through the Apple store but it does seem to have worked successfully. The app appears in my purchases but nowhere on my home pages. It will not allow me to ope the app from my purchases page or gives me an option to uninstall the app?

Internal Server Error when purchasing an app in Blackberry App World

I have a Torch 9810. I have been trying to purchase the Baamboo Premium player. If I do it in the app world on my desktop, I get:
Internal Server Error
An internal server error has been detected. Please try your operation again. (EC )
If I try from the app world on my phone, it keeps saying "Please wait" upon selecting purchase until I reboot - waited over 2 hours one day.
So, it won't let me complete the purchase via my phone or desktop. How can we fix this?

I think we have made some headway. Apparently, purchases billed to AT&T (my provider) go through Bango, which I did not accept the terms on my phone previously. When trying the purchase, it never prompted until the uninstall/reinstall of app world. Now that I told it I agreed with the terms, I found that it won't go through because I blocked a similar purchase type through my provider (for Facebook credits - apparently through Bango as well).
So, once I tell it to bill through PayPal, it should work.
My concern is that even when connecting my phone to my desktop and trying to purchase online, I would just get a cryptic "internal server error".
Thanks for your help! This should solve it now - have to wait until payday.

Unusual 8003 error - iTunes - Purchases or Apps

Experiencing this error on a Win7 based machine, MacBook Pro and iPad 2 under the same profile. I am able to access and browse the store Ok, I am able to make purchases, songs, books, apps etc however, they simply will not download and the 8003 error is experienced. I followed Apple Q's steps - HT2292, TS1368 but no joy. All devices access the net via my home network device, a Linksys X3000 modem/router with latest firmware update.
One option I tried that did work was to tether my cell/mobile phone to my iPad and was able to download all updates to Apps and book purchases to my iPad. The cell phone accesses the interent via my providers 3G network and not via my home network and ISP. However, when I sync the iPad to either the Win 7 or Mac Book the new downloads and updates will not sync with iTunes on either device. My purchases still show up as available downloadable content in iTunes for either device.
I checked to see whether the problem is experenced for other forms of content on iTunes. I purchased a song via iTunes and experienced the same 8003 error, so the problem is not isolated to books alone. All current relevant updates for OS's to Win7, MacBook and iPad have been applied. This is not a firewall problem as I can access the store fine. The last time I accessed the store prior to this was about 1 month ago and everything worked fine.

Very interesting! I'm having the exact same problem but am using a Linksys X2000. Everything was working great until I upgraded the firmware yesterday. Since then, I'm unable to download anything from iTunes (-8003 error) on the AppleTV or my PC, but I can still browse the Apple store and watch previews.
I've restored the router to factory settings a few times just to be sure something wasn't disabled.
Interestingly, I'm also unable to connect to GW2 at all, and another website I regulaly log into won't redirect. It seems something is blocking certain ports or traffic. I thought maybe some sort of SSH error, but some sites I can log into just fine (like Gmail for instance).
Going to try it with another modem / router to see if I have any luck.

Unknown error 400 when updating apps through iTunes.

I have been getting an error message 400 when trying to update apps from the app store on my macbook. I can only update them from my iphone. I am able to purchase and download the original apps as well as music and movies. Are there any fixes for this issue? I do not have this problem on my imac.

I had the same problem and after a full day on the phone with Apple, there was no solution. Then, I tripped over it! The issue was with a third party program that was supposed to be allowing all traffic, but wasn't. The program is NetBarrier and once it was removed and my MacBook Pro was rebooted, all was great. The iMac wasn't affected (in my case) because I never installed that program on the iMac.

The strategy is defined correctly, but continue with the error.

I keep getting 'unknown error' after clicking 'install app' when trying to download Mavericks from the App store.

Trying to install Mavericks from the App store on my 2011 11" Macbook air, (wihch has more than 15GB free space). After clicking 'Install App', and entering the Apple ID password, I get 'unkonwn error'.

You can't use Safari to download iPad apps. Only use iTunes/App Store.

Ok I'm getting mad!!! I have spoke to 3 apple techs and they keep telling me it's something on their end... If so wouldn't you think they would fix it so I can buy apps? My itunes works fine and shows my credit.. So Please someone who knows this issue and knows how to fix it... Please help me, or I'm going to get rid this anchor weight..

"Unknown Error" everytime I try to install a new app

Literally ten minutes ago, I was able to download apps, then all of a sudden, I got this "Unknown error" message and the app I'm trying to download disappears. I've hard rebooted my phone several times, to no avail. Is this something that I can fix, or is this something horribly wrong with my iphone4? I've asked several others who have AT&T as well, and they have no problems. My wireless is working just fine, as well as my service. I'm lost as to what I should do at this point?

I decided to try to go to my apps in the itune store on my computer. When I turned on my computer I could not open itunes. I got an error message saying that some components were not installed properly during last itunes update, and that i should reinstall itunes. I recently updated my itunes software and my iphone software (last time I synced my phone). The unknown error message only showed up on my iphone after those updates (last week). Anyway, I just uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my computer (pc, not mac). After I re-downloaded itunes i was prompted to update my credit card info (only the security code was missing). Then I went to the apps and was able to update all of them on my computer. Then, I synced my phone and all of the apps updated. Then, I disconnected my phone from the computer. I went to the apps icon on my phone. I went to free apps and picked a free app to test if I could now purchase an app. and it worked fine. Try this. I hope it works for you. I thinbk that it all had something to do with having to update credit info after last itunes update. The app store always needs updated credit info. It was probably erased during last itunes update and was probably also lost on the iphone. This would account for the inability to update/purchase any apps I think. Good luck.

HT1338 if my apple id is coming up with an unknown error?

What am i suppose to do. I know my user id and password are correct but everytime i try to login the same error message appears. "The apple id is having an unknown error"

If there are apps on the device that were purchased with someone else's Apple ID, then their login credentials will be required to update those apps.
Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID they are acquired with.
