"Unknown Object :unexpected AST node" prompt error when translating T-SQL

Hi,All
We are using Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 to do a migration from Sybase ASE to Oracle.
When we use Scratch Editor to translate one of Sybase T-SQL stored procedures,it failed.
In the migration log ,we just get the following error:
"Unknown Object :unexpected AST node: PROCEDURE: Line -1 Column -1 "
But other T-SQL SPs can be translated smoothly Scratch Editor.
Anyone has met this error before?
Hope for your advice.

Hi Mary,
what is your version of Sybase ASE? Only versions 12 and 15 can be migrated using SQL Developer.
I found no source that reported the same issue. To be able to find the cause of the problem it would be helpful if you post here a T-SQL SP that shows up the error.
I suppose you have read the "Oracle® Database SQL Developer Supplementary Information for Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server Migrations" manual, available at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12151_01/doc.150/e12156.pdf ?
Best regards
Wolfgang

  • Call failed. Error: An unexpected 'PrimitiveValue' node was found when reading from the JSON reader. A 'StartObject' node was expected.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to add a new task to a Tasks list called CATasks. The list was created via Visual Studio “Add > New Item > List” process and not by custom code. The code I am using to add a task is shown below.
    What I have noticed is if I use my code to add a Task to a Task List created by Visual studio “Add > New Item > List” process, I get an error. Error message when adding an item:
    Call failed. Error: An unexpected 'PrimitiveValue' node was found when reading from the JSON reader. A 'StartObject' node was expected.
    But if I create the same list using custom code I don't get an error.
    Am I missing something in my custom code or is this a bug?
    I hope you can help.

    Hi,
    I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience.

  • "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found" error when double clicking on an ics file

    Operation System: Windows 8 Pro
    System Type: 64-bit Operating System
    Office: MS Office Professional Plus 2013
    I am getting "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found" error when I double click on an .ics file to an appointment to my calender. My outlook.com account's data file is set as default and this error only occurs if
    that is the default data file. I thought that maybe my profile is corrupted. So, I opened up a new profile with the below steps and only add my outlook.com account there:
    1-) Open up the Control Panel and go to Mail section
    2-) Click "Show Profiles"
    3-) Click "Add" and give a name to your profile.
    4-) Configure your outlook.com account (with Auto Account setup, not manual steps)
    5-) Finally, set that profile to be used always.
    Then, I opened up the Outlook 2013 and clicked on the .ics file to add that appointment but got the same error.
    Is this a known issue or specific to me?
    Thanks!

    yes, I have the same problem.
    The workaround of saving the ICS file and then importing it into the current calendar
    works,
    but the ICS calendar
     displays in other section, NOT in the section of my old events.
    why  ??

    I've recall that I've tried to help people with this error before, but I'm sure they were able to sort it out.
    Anyway, this blog post,
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqljourney/archive/2012/10/09/sql-2008-service-fails-to-come-online-with-a-valid-certificate-could-not-be-found-and-it-is-not-possible-to-create-a-self-signed-certificate.aspx
    suggests the issue is a corrupted user profile, and you should try to use a different service account.
    This blog also seems to have a simple solution, but I cannot vouch for that it will work:

    plaese help.

    Hi
    Checking the dbsl_w<NN> as it is explained in point 3 of the 'Troubleshooting' section of [SAP Note 738371|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/738371] would help a lot to know the reason of the failure.
    It is most likely that, the information provided in DBCO are not complete/accurate

  • Invalid node structure error when verifying hard disk, please help

    My 27" Mid 2011 iMac is having hard disk issues. I attempted to repair the disk but received an error that said the disk cannot be repaired and needs to be re-formatted. I have all my files backed up to an external hard drive so I erased and formatted the disk. After reformatting, I ran the verify disk function and got the message saying the HD appears to working properly. I reload OSX Lion and within a day, my computer freezes up and acts as if something is wrong. When I run the verify disk, I get the Invalid Node Structure error multiple times and then the message saying the disk cannot be repaired and I need to reformat the drive. I have completed this process several times and have had no luck. I have looked at a few forums with people who have had somewhat similar problems but am still unsure. I have seen people recommend programs like Disk Warrior to repair issues the hard disk utility cannot but I don't want to spend $100 dollars on this program if my hard disk is damaged and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions? Thank you

    Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
    Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.

  • Unexpected (Bug?) Compile error when DataGridColumn has 'id' in Repeater

    When I attempt to create a small number of DataGrid controls
    with a Repeater, I get the following compile error message:
    Unable to generate initialization code within Repeater, due to
    id or data binding on a component that is not a visual child.
    Here is the minimal amount of MXML that generates the compile
    error:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="absolute">
    <mx:ArrayCollection id="myAC"/>
    <mx:ArrayCollection id="headersAC"
    source="{headers.header}"/>
    <mx:Model id="headers">
    <headers>
    <header>Header 1</header>
    <header>Header 2</header>
    <header>Header 3</header>
    <header>Header 4</header>
    </headers>
    </mx:Model>
    <mx:VBox>
    <mx:HBox>
    <mx:Repeater id="repeater1"
    dataProvider="{headersAC}">
    <mx:DataGrid id="datagrid1" width="125" height="210"
    dataProvider="{myAC}">
    <mx:columns>
    <mx:DataGridColumn
    id="anything"
    headerText="{repeater1.currentItem.header}"/>
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    </mx:Repeater>
    </mx:HBox>
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:Application>
    <mx:DataGridColumn/> compiles correctly.
    <mx:DataGridColumn
    id="anything"/> receives the compile error message above.
    <mx:DataGridColumn
    headerText="{repeater1.currentItem.header}"/> receives
    the compile error message above.
    I'd like to be able to address the repeating DataGridColumns
    via their id array. I'd also like to be able to assign the
    headerText to each of the DataGridColumns at initialization.
    There is a claim of a workaround at Nischal's blog:
    Referencing components inside
    the mx:Repeater, but there is no source code to show how to do
    this.
    He says:
    quote:
    Recently when I was working on Flex application and found
    that there is an issue with the columns of DataGrid, which is
    defined inside the repeater. Flex throws following error when you
    try to assign id or data binding values to DataGridColumn
    “Unable to generate initialization code within
    Repeater, due to id or data binding on a component that is not a
    visual child.”
    Which means if you want to assign dynamic value to say
    HeaderText of the column then you cannot use dynamically or id to
    assign value. Work around to this issue is to use columns array of
    datagrid to define the value. Click
    here
    to see the example and source code to use the column of the
    DataGrid.
    I'm not sure what "...use columns array of datagrid to define
    the value..." means.
    Any ideas on the workaround for this problem?

    Peter:
    You can see the example on
    Refrencing
    Datagrid and right click to view source.

    There are more detailed logs for the various components. The one of interesting is the one for the engine or possibly the one for full-text.
    These logs are extremely verbose, and the errors are rarely crystal clear, but at least give them a try. If you have problems, find a place to upload them (Dropbox, Skrydrive etc), so that we can look.
    The closest at hand is that "group" that cannot be found is an AD group.

  • 404 error when downloading Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 (2.1.0.63.73) for Mac

    Greetings,
    I'm getting a 404 error when I try to download the Mac OS X version of Oracle SQL Developer. The download page is at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
    And it links to the Mac version at:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73-macosx.tar.gz
    Which doesn't exist.
    Is this the correct forum to report this problem?
    Thanks
    Mick

    I don't know what to say: I went to this link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html
    Clicked on Download in the upper right corner, re-accepted the whatever-they-wanted-me-to-accept and then the OSX download suddenly worked. Give it a spin and see if a circuit like that works for you.
    Good luck!

  • Why an "ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist" error when no dynamic SQL?

    Hi all,
    While running PL/SQL in SQL Developer 3.2.09, I got the following error after adding a section of code. Note that nothing I'm doing has anything to do with dynamic SQL (which is what 01006 is supposedly about).
    Error report:
    ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist
    01006. 00000 - "bind variable does not exist"
    *Cause:
    *Action:
    After commenting out the new chunk of code that caused the error, the error persisted.
    After deleting the new code, the error went away.
    What the heck!?!? If you have any ideas, please lay 'em on me.
    Thanks so much,
    Kim
    P.S. It's a few hundred lines of code, so I didn't append it to this post and I don't see how to attach a file.

    Let's review a few facts:
    1. You post a question in the sql developer forum that has no apparent relation to sql developer. You could confirm this by doing the test using sql*plus or some other tool.
    2. You provide NO information about what database you are even using. The only clue is an ORA -xxx message that means SOME version of Oracle is involved.
    3. You provide NO information about what the four digit version of Oracle DB is being used.
    4. You provide NO information about what the code in general or what that specific section of the code is even doing. The code could be doing literally anything that Oracle is capable of doing.
    That's a bit like calling a mechanic you don't know, telling them your car is making a funny noise and asking them what the problem with your car is.
    >

    >
    Your first clue that your troubleshooting method is seriously flawed is when you make statements that aren't supported by any evidence at all but appear to be nothing but your opinion.
    Your second clue is when those statements appear to directly contradict what Oracle is telling you.
    I'm talking about these two statements you make; which you state as if they were universal truths
    >
    nothing I'm doing has anything to do with dynamic SQL
    (which is what 01006 is supposedly about).
    >
    If thoe were true then your 'unstated' conclusion appears to be that Oracle is wrong in saying 'bind variable does not exist'
    Sorry - but I would place my money on Oracle.
    I'm sure the above may sound harsh - it is intended to be. My four major rules (there are more) when troubleshooting Oracle problems.
    1. Assume that Oracle is CORRECT when it tells you there is a problem.
    2. Assume that you are WRONG if your opinion conflicts with what Oracle is telling you - see rule #1.
    3. Don't make ANY other assumptions. You can form hypotheses but don't state them as facts until they are proven.
    4. Your 'opinion' is only useful to the extent that it can help you form meaningful hypotheses - see rule #3.
    >
    To reiterate, there is no dynamic SQL in the code.
    >
    To reiterate - if, as you state, that error relates to dynamic SQL and bind variables then it can not be disputed that:
    ORACLE DOESN'T AGREE WITH YOU!
    So let's try it my way and hypothesize that Oracle is correct (see rule #1 above).
    Then by definition this statement by Oracle is correct
    >
    ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist
    >
    And that should immediately raise this question:
    1. where might there be a bind variable that does not exist?
    which leads to a prerequisite question:
    2. where are ALL of the bind variables that might be being used?
    Question #2 is where you need to start your search. Here are at least five possibilities (there are more)
    1. your code - this should be easiest to check and you state that your 'anonymous' block does not have any.
    2. a table trigger - triggers that use the :NEW, :OLD or :PARENT pseudocolumns. Those psuedocolumns are BIND variables and the trigger code that uses them is, by definition, dynamic sql.
    3. a pl/sql package/function/procedure - any of these might be being called from trigger code or a view that is involved in the transaction. Any of these could take a parameter and/or use bind variables and cause your problem if that bind variable does 'not exist'.
    4. a functional index - can also trigger code from #3 above

    See rule #1 - Oracle is CORRECT. Until you have identified and examined ALL of the code (not just your anonymous block) being executed and ruled it out you should continue with the hypotheses that Oracle is CORRECT.
    In the (extremely) unlikely event that you can show that Oracle is NOT correct you should file a SOR with Oracle.

  • Tree table-initially expand all nodes raises error when closing a node 11g

    Hello,
    Frank Nimphius posted a blog entry about how to initially display all the nodes in a tree or table here:
    [http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/12/19/adf-faces-rc-initially-expanding-all-nodes-in-a-tree-or-tree-table/|http://thepeninsulasedge.com/frank_nimphius/2007/12/19/adf-faces-rc-initially-expanding-all-nodes-in-a-tree-or-tree-table/]
    This works very well. However, when the user tries to close a node, a NullPointerException is thrown.
    Below is the stacktrace.
    Does anyone know how to work around that issue?

    OK I have tried Frank's suggestion about the 2 entries in the managed bean and it works but I cannot collapse my child node !
    I have a Master-Detail-Detail setup.
    In the Grandparent I have this :
    RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySet(true);
    table1.setDisclosureState(rks);
    this.grandParentTable = table1;
    and in my Parent table I have this :
    RowKeySet rks = new RowKeySet(true);
    table2.setDisclosureState(rks);
    this.parentTable = table2;
    ie the same.
    In my child I have nothing just the default accessors.
    The collapse works OK for the Grandparent but when I click Hide for the Parent it does not do anything - no error message either.
    cheers
