Unlock User and Reset Password via DB

Hi,
I've a SAP FI running on Oracle. I have the SAP ID but no password.
I've the access to the Oracle DB. How do I unlock the ID and reset the password via the DB.
Please advise.
TIA !
Desmond

Hi Desmond,
You can unlock SAP user id from DB level, but there is no way you can reset password for SAP user id from DB level.
Below is the command for unlocking user id from DB level.
Connect to orasid.
sqlplus "/as sysdba"
SQL>update sapr3.user02 set uflag=0 where bname='userid' and mandt='<clientno>'; -- for older SAP versions
From ECC 5
SQL>update sap<SID>.user02 set uflag=0 where bname='userid' and mandt='<clientno>';
Thanks,
Phani.

  • HT4798 Resetting password via Apple ID (fail)

Macbook 2010ish. I am changing my password via the Apple ID reset option, which I enabled. It's failing after I go through the process to change it (even to 1234 so I know there is no typo).
    10.7.2
I gave this laptop to my daughter and she can login, but I now need to access a few files I left on the machine. I cannot access my account. I made my daughter an administrator and I am also an administrator. I can see that I assigned my account my Apple ID. When I try and login, I choose to reset using the Apple ID. If I enter my Apple ID successfully, I get a screen to reset my password. I reset it to 1234 or 123456 or abCd123& -- whatever. Everything fails once I submit it.
I just need 6 files I worked on last summer (outlines) for a class I start teaching again this summer. Help!
When I am logged in as my daughter, I can visit the Users & Groups and see my account. I have an option to change my daughter's password, but this same option is not available on my account. I checked, "Allow user to reset password using Apple ID" and "Allow user to adminster this computer." I also made sure the Apple ID listed here is the same one I have and use. But I have yet to get this to work when trying to login.

I updated to 10.7.4 hoping that would help. Nope.
As soon as I try and reset the password by using the Master Password or my Apple ID, it fails (wiggles to show it failed). What could be rejecting these password changing attempts?

  • Create new account and reset password options on AAD signIN page

    Hi there:
When using Azure Active Directory as an authentication provider for Azure Mobile Services, authentication works fine, but what about signing UP. How can I add the typical links like "Create new account" (with a confirmation link via email) and
"Reset Password" to the SignIN page?.
    Thx in adv,
    Gerardo

This is actually a question relating to AAD, not Mobile Services, as AAD is in control of that page, etc.
However, Azure Active Directory is intended as an enterprise identity management solution. There is no sign-up process, as users are managed explicitly by the organization.
My understanding is that you are looking for a custom authentication solution where users have usernames/passwords associated with your application. AAD is not meant for this use case. We do have
a tutorial for working with your own database, but you are responsible for the security, etc.

  • User and owner password have same access permissions

    Hi,
I'm trying to implement standard encryption (128 bit RC4 for now), and as far as I can tell it works.
The one thing that worries me is that, even when I use the owner password, I have restrictions. I get access to the document with (and only with) the user and owner passwords, but in both cases I can't print if I disable it. In PDF 32000-1:2008, pag. 59 it says: "opening the document with the correct owner password should allow full (owner) access to the document".  Both Acrobat Reaqder 7.0 and Foxit do this, and I've tested other encrypted documents that show the same behaviour.
What can I do to enable printing as owner, but not as user?

    Wiebe.

    Hi Aandi,
Thanks for the help but I am able to change the title, authors name etc from the Postscript file so that prompted me to think that we may well be able to set passwords using the same. Any other source via which I can set password like ghostscript or some other open source , third party tool ?
Thanks for the help Dude ...

  • Problem with both user and cmos password

I have problem with my user and cmos password, can formating clear the passward with remove the cmos battary.

It depends on the model. Formatting will not touch the BIOS or power on passwords but will take away the Windows user password and allow you to have a different one, but will kill all the data on the machine. Removing the CMOS battery might clear the BIOS password and power on password, but on most current laptops even that will not help. The BIOS data is on a chip that holds its contents even when all power is removed.

  • Reset password via OPSS?

    ADF 11gR1 PS1
    Hi,
I've got user security managed via OPSS APIs (a la Josh Bregman's sample app http://fusionsecurity.blogspot.com/2009/07/opss-sample-application.html ) which is great as it allows some basic user profile management.
With regards to setting/resetting passwords, the APIs only allow the initially setting of a password for a newly created user via
    oracle.security.idm.User createUser(java.lang.String p1, char[ ] p2, oracle.security.idm.PropertySet p3), where p2 = password, or changing the password when you already know the old password (like password expiration) via oracle.security.idm.UserProfile.setPassword(char[] p1, char[] p2) where p1 = oldpassword, p2=newpassword.
If the user forgets their password, there's no method that allows me to retrieve the old password, or provide a new password without knowing the old one.
I really rather not drop and recreate the user.
    Ideas?

    Hi,
the question is if the identity management system provides you the password in clear text. Usually it is considered best practices to not expose the password in clear text. Systems that do this usually use RDBMS tabes to keep track of users, which is what you could do with the RDBMS authentication providers. Since OPSS works with the integrated LDAP server (as far as changing passwords goes) you may want to explore directly accessing the integrated LDAP server. Instead of reading the password, I would suggest to reset it to a new value that the user then can change using the OPSS APIs
However, this forum is not the right one to ask OPSS specific questions (the forum title sys JDeveloper and ADF), so try

  • Prevent user from resetting password more than once in a day

    Hi,
    1) my requirement is that, i want to prevent a user from resetting his password more than once in a day in OIM 11g.
i guess that has to be implemented using a pre-process event handler on reset password page.
is that achieveable? i dont have much idea on which places i can attach a pre-process event handler to.
    2) I want to restrict a user from using sequential passwords. eg: abhi1, abhi2, abhi3
This is not present OOTB. just want to know. can we do it via custom code.? but this will expose that password (security breach- which i dont want)
is there any way i can achieve this via configurations in OIM or some event handler.?
    Thanks in advance.

1.yes, update "Minimum Password Age" to 1 for the password policy.
    2. you can't achieve this by configuration. But, yes write an event handler and put your validation there. probably this is required on manual create or update so use pre-insert and pre-update eventhandler for validation.

  • How can I get a list of users with reset password ability?

We are trying to tighten our security, but thanks to the environment we are in this is a bigger task than it should be. As part of this I have been asked to get a list of users who have the ability to reset other users passwords. there are the obvious suspects,
domain admins, service desk etc., but we also appear to have random people who can do this because of a requirement during test or development stages way back. Is there a way to get this, I looked at using powershell but there doesn't seem to be much out there
to give me a pointer, things like ADManager+ do not work, when I try to search on permissions it sits there doing nothing then crashes.
Is there a way to build a function using powershell that can do this or is there some third party cmdlet or app that will provide me this info?
    Any help gratefully accepted.

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, except for those default groups users, such as domain admins and enterprise admins and so on, have reset password ability for other users, we can use delegation control to give other common users permissions to reset password for others,
to view or delete Active Directory Delegated Permissions, please go through the below article:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/6477.how-to-view-or-delete-active-directory-delegated-permissions.aspx
And if you were editing single user's security tab to give specific users reset password permissions, then I think we should create a script to get all those users, for scripting, please also post in the official scripting guys forum:

  • IDXML for LostPassword and Reset Password

    HI All,
I am new to IDXML and OAM Webpass, but I have tried my best to work on assignment. I have to implement User Credentials Mgmt. which includes Change Password, Reset Password, AddUpdateSecurityQuestions and Lost Password.
I have found IDXML for Change password and Adding or updating Security Questions and implement it. But I am not able to find any IDXML for Lost PAssword Mgmt. or Reset Password.
I have read something about Lost Password Mgmt in OAM Manual but it was for implementing Event Plugin - which I am totally unaware of.
I will really appreciate if Somebody reply soon, as I am running out of time...tic..tic..tic....
see... I have very less time.... :)
    Please help..
    Thanks in Adv.

    Hello Himanshu,
The functionality of LPM is not directly available within IDXML (specifically the functionality provided by the lost_pwd_mgmt.cgi urls is not available). However, you can use IDXML to check for LPM conditions and then take appropriate action as an admin user.
For example, you could make a check for password reset by checking the value of the obpasswordchangeflag attribute with an IDXML call that logs in with an admin account (so that the user is not redirected to the change password page). Then, if the value is true you could make another admin call to change the password and to reset the obpasswordchangeflag.
In order to do this, you first need to make the LPM attributes available to the Identity System, for which please see Note 743075.1

  • What is the best practice to create IDM user and target accts via recon

    usecase:
    LDAP<--->idm---->AD.
User exists in LDAP. IDM and AD are empty. Need to create IDM user and AD acct from LDAP data.
I can recon against LDAP and create the IDM user. But I cannot create AD acct in the same recon process. What is the best practice to do the above.

i think you have to have a "Per-account Workflow" set which creates the user in AD.
