Unlocked phone turned to Locked after repair
Hi
Can anyone please help me with the below question.
I bought a new unlocked nokia lumia 710 from online vendor. I was using it for about 2 months and suddenly my phone hung. I reached to nokina support and they advised me to hard boot and several other steps which did not work. Hence, they asked me to send the phone for repair. I did so and 2 days back, I recieved my phone stating all the tests are performed and should work correctly.
When I tried putting my SIM card, it is now asking for unlock code. Looks like in the process of reparing Nokia team has locked my phone.
I have placed a request with nokia again and I am to hear back from them. But thought will ask the forum if any one had similar experience and how long will I need to wait for the issue to be resolved

Check with Nokia Care if the phone was originally sold as locked, they can check this. Then if so contact the retailer.

Do I have to use the apple's fast lane to resolve the issue or is it something that can be resolved quickly using the ITunes or combination of power and home key please advice...From where did you purchase the iPhone? Are you certain it really was factory unlocked? I can't say that an iOS update couldn't inadvertently lock an iPhone, but more commonly it would happen with a jailbroken iPhone. If by "from Irvine" you mean Irvine, California, then you don't have a factory-unlocked iPhone unless you purchased it from another country, as there are no unlocked iPhones sold through any authorized reseller in the US.

my phone is 3gs purchased from apple online store(unlocked), i used it with vodafone in ireland for 10 months, but on my holidays i tried sim card in dubai didn't work, tried also different sim cards in sudan and again didn't work, i brought the phone back to ireland and asked apple support, advised me to restore the phone but i failed to activate the phonesaying the sim is incompatible!!!!!!!!!!!

The phone was hacked to unlock it. It relocked when you updated. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. If you are not/never were an AT&T customer and you do not have an original store receipt from either an AT&T or Apple store in the U.S. for a no commitment AT&T iPhone, they will NOT unlock it.

Hi, I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 7.0.4 and the phone keeps going of whenver battery level drops to 20% and it give the warning. It turns off immediately after I dismiss the warning message. I LOCKED THE PHONE AT 21% and I was able to play music to 4% which means there is no problem with the battery, this seems to be a programming error.
Earlier suggestion include that the battery has a dead cell but it wouldnt keep playing music for over 2 hours it it had a dead cell.My issue with IOS 7.1 and higher is my Bluetooth for the phone still works...no problem but the music does not work with bluetooth...I have an Acura TSX 2010...Acura said there are no incidents reported, but me...I just upgraded to IPhone 6 and still no good....as soon as i hit the AUX button it say USB...not bluetooth...ugh

Sounds like your iPhone was hacked/modified/jailbroken to work
with wireless carrier other than the one it was purchased from. The
update has relocked it to the original carrier. Contact the original
carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify - only the
carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that the previous modifications to change from original carrier
to your current Carrier may have rendered the software unable to be
officially unlocked and may prevent future updates.
Reverting to a previous version of iOS is not supported. Even it it was,
such reversion would not solve your problem because the iPhone has become
relocked to the original wireless provider and that status will not change
no matter what iOS version is installed. -
Phone with busted screen turns on right after turn...
Hello everyone,
Thought i'd register to lay out a problem i have with my N95 phone. First of all, great phone, ive been using it for years and it still competes with everything out there for me. It did break down occasionally, but nothing i couldn't fix by cleaning the contacts or whatever, i always found a way to get it going again.
Last month somewhere i went for a run, but on my way there the derailleur of my bike (gear shifter thing) snapped off, my wheel locked up, i came tumbling off and i had to fish my beloved N95 out of my pocket in two bits, the screen and the main body. After carrying my bike home i ordered a new flex cable, a new screen and a new body for my N95, build it in with no problem at all (done it 3 times before) and popped in the battery to have a go. That's when it got interesting.
The phone turned on (giving the customary bleep), the keys lit up (although one keyboard led seemed to have broken) but the screen wouldn't turn on. Oh well i thought, let me just buy another screen since this one is obviously DOA. But with the second screen it still wouldn't work, and what are the odds of receiving two DOA parts from different stores? Not very likely.
I started looking for cases similar to mine and i came across tons of topics, they all pointed in the same general direction, format the phone using either the 3 * green button method or calling to #7370# and so on. Would be fine solutions if my screen worked, but since it didn't i was in for a blast. I tried the 3 button method and it seemed to be doing something, but since i couldn't see anything it was a little tricky to tell, but anyway i just assumed it did something. I left for a few days (i'm not one for half measures) hooked to the power and just let it format, or i thought so because i couldn't actually see anything happening because the screen wouldn't come on. After seeing nothing change i just turned it off. But it wouldn't turn off, because immediately after it gave a bleep and turned back on again. When i try to shut it down it happens again, comes back on. Only way to kill the power is to take out the battery, but when i pop the battery back in the same thing happens, the phone turning on after turning it off.
So to recap: phone busted, new flexcable, new screen and new body, after reassembling screen not working and after a seemingly botched attempt at formatting it won't turn off normally, instead it turns back on with the screen still not working.
The obvious question here is: what is going on and what can i do to get it going again? Either by formatting the thing and hopefully fixing corrupt video drivers and get the screen going again or some other solution i haven't thought of yet. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, as i said i think its a fantastic phone. Now im using my old 1100 which is of course a poor substitute to an N95, even if its more functional in terms of being able to use it to hammer concrete nails into walls :-) And i know what your thinking: just drop it in the bin and buy a new one. But i'd rather fix it, i always try to fix broken appliances, phones and computers and it has probably saved me thousands of euros. So again: any help is greatly appreciated!

You phone will need repair. Please contact a Nokia Care point in your country so they can take a look at your phone and help. You can find Care point locations globally from www.nokia.com/repair or your local Nokia website -> Support.
Also note that as your warranty may be void, a charge may be in place to get it fixed. Let us know how you get on.

Auto lock makes you unlock phone every time?
So if you turn auto lock off, the backlight never goes off, burning your battery. If you use any other setting (1-5 mins), you have to unlock your phone EVERY time you use it or receive a message? Really? Is this correct? This most aggravating and I find it hard to believe there is no way to turn auto lock off and still have the backlight operate normally, i.e. turn off after use.

My phone is carrier locked with telenor sweden and telenor is ready to unlock but payment must be paid through swedish credit card , that i dont have so what i can do to unlock , i m ready to pay for carrier unlock what can i do? I had a conversation through mail to telnor support , i got reply that only swedish credit card, no abroad credit card.
yes, when you bought the code, telenor tell you wait a few days, they offer to apple and unlock for your iphone, after a few days, you can check in the web, your imei Unlocked and you must restore your iphone with iturn, and conratulation your phone has been unlocked...

It seems after the latest software update, my iphone 4 has issues with the phone and voicemail locking up as well as opening random apps. Any thoughts?

My problem is that I cannot let me phone turn off or sleep too long without it going into recovery mode! It becomes very stubborn to get out and also extremely annoying! Need a permant fix!!

Whoever told you that is wrong. The warranty on a repair or replacement iPhone is still 90 days minimum. Quoting from their Service FAQ:
If defects arise as a result of service, Apple will cover the repair for the remaining term of the iPhone's warranty or 90 days after iPhone service, whichever provides longer coverage for you.
Call Apple Support and discuss your problem with them. If they agree that it's a hardware problem, they can arrange for mail-in service.

Why doesn't my phone auto-lock after one minute?
From the settings - it's checked to auto-lock after a minute, but for some reason - this does not always happen. I have tried turning off the phone and back on again - that did not work. How can this be resolved?
probably. turn it off for sometime , restart the phone and check.

my ipod 4 got locked after several wrong password attempts by my lil daughter and now even i enter the correct password it is still unlocked...jus my ipod speaks wenever i press a button like i press time it says it..wen i press unlock keys like 1, 2,3 it jus says it like "1, 2, 3 ....." or i press battery it says "battery"
