Unsupported product patches being removed 1st January 2015

Greetings all.
The news banner on the support site stated that from 1st January 2015 all patches for unsupported products will be removed from the site.
That news banner was replaced when I just checked with the latest news, so I cannot confirm whether this decision is still valid.
Previously, the existing patches for older products continued to be available.
As a person involved in persuading people to stay with Novell products, I first have to fix what they have (which is typically older versions), then upgrade them after proving that the product CAN work properly. The upgrade process in many cases also requires patches for the existing product or an intermediate product.
I recommend people that may be affected:
1. Download any required patches and updates now.
2. Contact Novell requesting they reconsider this policy or extend the deadline.

Your forum post regarding the scheduled removal of patches for unsupported products at the beginning of 2015 was forwarded to me. The decision still holds and the banner is still up at http://download.novell.com/patch/finder/.
Patches will be archived and customers who need a patch for an obsolete product will still be able to request an older patch by contacting Support and opening an SR.
You suggest we extend the deadline for taking the patches down. How long would you recommend? Keeping outdated products listed on the download sites is expensive and confuses customers; but I am curious to hear how long of an extension would be adequate and how else you think we can warn our customers that the patches will soon no longer be accessible via Patch Finder.

Is what you're saying that you only want backups in TM of the state of your Mac from January 2015 to the current date and nothing before then? I'd think the simplest solution would just be to delete in TM all the backups prior to 1/15 and then let TM do its thing. The ultimate source for all things Time Machine is here. On this page, note the comment that "Time Machine will never delete the backup copy of anything that was on the disk being backed-up at the time of any remaining backup" which I understand to mean that if you delete all the backups in the TM file prior to 1/15, any file that wasn't present on your Mac as of 1/15 will no longer be represented in the TM file. Note that the second link also has instructions for how to delete TM files.

I currently have SE via creatieve cloud - one of the only reasons we switched to CC was for the DPS SE.
Does anyone know if this capability will just be 'switched off' at midnight 1st May 2015?? There are huge costs for going the enterprise route but with no date in sight for Publish to be launched I am not sure I can wait for this, or should I???

It is always a useful precaution to make manual bookmarks backups

The above article also explains about the autobookmark backups that firefox generates, but be sure to make manual backups as you work, it is very easy to overwrite the wrong set of backups.
I am not entirely certain what firefox is doing in your case, perhaps the synced Netbook does not have the expected set of bookmarks on it.

User being removed from Domain Admins...how to find all servers his account is being used.

We have a user that is being removed from IT (more like being forcefully demoted) and our owner still finds him valuable in other departments. My challenge is to find all servers that he may be using his account locally on (as a service or added to a local
admin group). It hasn't happened yet, but we need to be prepared to say we know all the servers his account is on when the owner demotes him.
I'm hoping someone has an approach to this that doesn't include going through tons of Event Viewer Security logs. We do have System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager 2012 w/ SP1, but the guy that is responsible for those is the guy we are removing
and none of us are aware on how to use the possible tools that those have. If you feel that those would do the trick then please point me to a "how to" and I'll try to learn on the fly. Otherwise I'll take any other suggestions.

Attributes being removed when creating a Purchase Order

Hi,
We are running SRM 4.0 ECS.
I have an issue when creating a PO directly (BBP_POC).
When I have enter the item line information and then go details to enter a G/L account, the attributes UOM and Gross Price are removed. I need to go Back to Item overview to fill them in again. If I do it in Item detail in the Basic data tab, the attribute data keeps on being removed.
Does anyone know why this happens?

HI,
That means the PO print program is using some table (EKKO, EKPO,KONV and may be other for condition record) to get the value of the PO.
now those table get updated only after you save the PO.
That's the reason you are not getting any value in print preview before saving.

11i upgrade - Step: Apply latest product patches (required)

I am in the process of upgrading 11.5.9 (DB 9.2.0.4) to 12.1.1 (DB 10.2.0.5).
As part of the upgrade steps in document titled *"Oracle® E-Business Suite Upgrade Guide Release 11i to 12.1.1 Part No. / E16342-04 / August 2010"*, I was directed to apply the latest product patche. Chapter 3, section 5.
I downloaded the latest copy of the patchsets.sh from Oracle and ran it with the following parameters:
patchsets.sh connect=apps/<apps_password> available=metalink
This tool generated a bunch of reports including one called "Report.txt" and "Report_R12.txt"
Which one of these patches am I supposed to download and apply to be able to continue with the upgrade?

Emails are being removed from my inbox after a few weeks

I have recently notice that old read emails are being removed from my inbox on my iPhone 6. They aren't in my trash, they just disappear.

I Have tried deleting and then re adding I have also turned off my phone for a while..

Error message "Product Recovery Function" removed

Hi all........I am in a big trouble at this moment.I have installed OS XP which i am having from university. I am trying to reinstall my original Winxp using Rescue & Recovery 3.0. I repaired my MBR using MBR repair diskette and installed RnR 3.0. After that when i pressed F11 key it enters in rescue and recovery but when i click to bring my laptop to original factory state it gives me an error "Product Recovery Function removed from the system". I am service partition is still intact with the hard disk. It would be really helpful if someone can share his knowledge and experience.

Hi,
The recovery DVDs from Lenovo should get you going.
Are you trying to shrink the C: partition from within Windows? It's probably the page or hibernation file that is the problem. If you want to keep trying while waiting for the DVDs you could try an off-line partitioning tool. gParted on a Linux live CD or USB flash drive for instance.
There is some cloning software that can do a shrink during the clone op - Acronis for instance.

R12.1.1 - Step 12 - Apply latest product patches

DB: 11.2.0.3
OS: Linux x86
I am upgrading from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and am trying to understand what is needed for step 12, page 3-5 of the R12 upgrade document (Part No. E16342-04), "Apply latest product patches".
I have searched around and there seem to be multiple methods, all of which seem a bit ambiguous.
I have downloaded and run the patchsets.sh script. Can I use that to get an answer for this step?

I am upgrading from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and am trying to understand what is needed for step 12, page 3-5 of the R12 upgrade document (Part No. E16342-04), "Apply latest product patches".
I have searched around and there seem to be multiple methods, all of which seem a bit ambiguous.
I have downloaded and run the patchsets.sh script. Can I use that to get an answer for this step?
