Unwanted sounds when logic plays from the start of the track!!! help!!

i would really appreciate if anybody helps me here!
i have logic rewired with reason. i have numerous tracks and instruments on both
all my drums are in reason and when i play the tracks back in logic i get an unwanted kick and a crash at the point i start the song, this happens anywhere between the count in and the first audio in logic.
whe i play it back from the start in reason i dont get these sounds, only when i play it from logic!
there is definately no loose midi data in reason(as there is no place for it ) and i have had draw a long count out in logic just so the track starts after these sounds have faded away?
any advise???

Correction:
This has happened to me lots too, to sessions where I am using a lot of virtual instruments. I don't think you issue has anything to do with ReWire.
I think it has to do with stopping a song before it ends, returning to the start and playing song again. It has to do with lookahead and ram etc ....
The way to avoid this is to back your song start up, or nudge your tracks forward a bit. One bar or less seems to do the trick for me.

if you have sound icon on your menu bar: press alt on your keyboard and click mouse on sound icon - check is the correct audio output is selected.

Play from region start

Hi all,
After searching around in the key command menu, I still cannot seem to find a relatively simple operation: play from selected region.
I have a ton of regions I need to jog back and forth between and I'd like to just highlight them by using the cursor keys (which I know how to do) and then hit some key command so that Logic plays from the beginning of the selected region.
Surely I am missing something completely and painfully obvious.
Any help?

Maybe not painfully - but yes, obvious, once you know it...
What you are looking for is called *Play from Selection* and the default Key Command is ⇧-⌅ (⌅ meaning Enter, on the numpad). This command is only available as *Key Command*, not as a menu item.

You may want to do a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If it's a software or data corruption glitch, the Restore should fix it. After the Restore, reload or resync your songs, and try it again. As a test, you may want to initially select a small number of songs to put back on the shuffle.

It could be that the CD player will only playback "Redbook" CD's from the previous position.
And starts mp3 type CD's from the beginnig.
However.. it's not Logic related.

Then install iStat Menus 4.04 so you can provide us with some temperature and fan speed data.
What about before you start the game? After you start the game do this:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If it's the game causing the problem then either something is wrong with the game or it's not compatible with Lion.

This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

How to start midi event playing from the middle of event?

I'm not sure if my post title is correct but...
I have a two minute piece of music with various instruments playing. There are some strings that play the same couple of notes throughout.
At the moment I am working on a middle section but as I loop, the srings aren't triggered - I have to play from the start (before the event starts). I did not have a problem with Cubase but I can't find a way to do this in Logic.
It's probaly quit simple though?

This typically means the midi notes themselves start before the beginning of the loop point you have choosen
You can quantize or manually move the first notes so that they start at the beginning of the loop and not just before... to resolve this..
Select the regions and then check the event list for the region to confirm this is what is going on...

DVD doesn't play from the beginning when inserted a second time into a dvd player

DVD burnt in DVD studio pro, when ejected and inserted again into dvd player, the dvd plays from where it stopped the last tome it was ejected. It doesn't rewind and play from the beginning.
Is the problem in the burning settings in DVD studio pro? any help is really appreciated!

My DVD Player setting was Last option played, I changed it now to "beginning". It now starts from the beginning when I insert it again, thanks.
Another issue is that my First play in the DVD is a Track, then comes a Menu. When I leave to the Menu while the Track didnt finish, and then click the dvdmenu on my remote control, the Track resumes from where I exited to the menu last.
Is that something i can control ? To make that intro track start from the beginning?

Why won't my adobe edge animations play from the start each time they are loaded on an Adobe DPS layout?

I have an adobe DPS document with several pages, and edge animations on each page. I want each animation to play from the start when each page is opened, however, the playback seems to be very inconsistent. Some animations play from the start, others half way through, and some playback incorrectly. I want to also be able to return to each page and have the animations reload, instead of just displaying the final frame of the animation.
I have played around with the delay time which doesnt seem to fix it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Start playing from the middle of a playlist?

Hi all,
I was wondering how to start playing from an arbitray song in a playlist on iTunes. When you go to a playlist, you see a play button next to the title of the playlist on the upper left corner of the playlist pane. If you press it, iTunes starts from the first song of the playlist. What do you do when you want to start from a song in the middle and continue to play songs in the order of the playlist?
I selected the song from which I want to start and pressed the play button on the upper-left corner, but iTunes started to play from the top of the list. When I double-clicked on the song, iTunes started to play the song but it stopped at the end of the album, not at the end of the playlist.

Oh hi... seemed like I've got the problem fixed. :") For this particular case, just get the server side to stream the video to the clients (possibly one instance is created for each IP address, if resources allow). The server can quickly seek to any particular position within the media clip, and start streaming from there. The clients' players just need to listen to the stream from the appropriate instance on the server.
JMF can do the streaming just fine. I've switched to VLC before I knew that, so now I'm having problem making the JMF on the client work with the VLC streaming. This is weird, considering the streaming protocol to be identical. But I should get that fixed soon.
