Update "Is not required" when it is required for some workstations

Hi all - Question in regards to how SCCM/WSUS determines if a patch is applicable to a machine.  Some background info.  We have 168 Dell Venue tablets running Windows 8, not 8.1 (that's another story).  All were imaged from SCCM with
the same image so they should all be identical in regards to software and patch levels. I'm trying to deploy KB2756872.  Of the 168 machines 150 are showing as "Not Required" for the patch, 18 are showing as "Required". 
I've successfully manually installed the .msu on a couple of the "Not Required" machines with no problem.  Running the "My Dell" utility shows the patch as required on the machine so why does SCCM think it is not?
Questions is why are most showing as "Not Required" when the patch is applicable?  Is there a way to figure out what exactly is being evaluated to determine whether a patch is or is not required?

The ConfigMgr client agent just controls the Windows Update Client agent (which performs the scan against the SUP's catalog). Any chance that the update is classified as an optional one?

  • Trying to deploy MS14-051/KB 2976627, SCCM reporting 'Update is not required'?

    hey all,
    i'm trying to deploy MS14-051/KB 2976627 as part of our August Windows updates, and i've noticed that over 90% of our computers have not installed the update yet, SCCM report shows 'Update is not required'.
    if i dig through the links in the report to any computers that are affected, i get a blank page with no details where there should be a description/reason outlining why the update is not required.
    from what i've read, there aren't any other updates required for this to be installed, and it's a critical update so i'm confused as to why it isn't installing.  we're running IE 9 on Windows 7 x64 for most of our computers.
    i reviewed the other August updates that are part of this deployment, and they appear to be installing fine.
    any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Mapping Error: Mappings are not required for this Integrator

    Hi,
    when I created my upload integrator with the Desktop Integrator Manager (12.1.2) I am not able to attach a mapping to it. I get the following error:
    Mapping Error: Mappings are not required for this Integrator because the ability to download information has not been enabled.
    Does anyone know what I've missed?

    Without creating the content if you are trying to do mapping this error will come.
    Solution:
    Create the content and then do mapping..

    While releasing the billing document to accounting the error is coming like "An accounting document is not required for this billing document"
    Diagnosis:
    The billing document has the net value '0' and does not create an accounting document. Despite this, the posting status 'C' (Posting document has been created) is set internally for this billing document.
    But the net value is coming in the sales order and alsi into the Billing document.

    Goto VOFA screen and check for ur billing type , what is assigned in the document type field?.
    Also please check, the posting block is activated. if it is, please remove.
    Also goto the accounting document type settings at OBA7, check whether the customer field is ticked under the account type allowed tab.

  • Goods receipt not required for freight items

    Hi Experts,
    We are using freight charge as extra line item in purchase order. Now client want that there shouldn't be any goods reciept if it is "Freight" item. I am thinking to use different material group or item category. Please advise if it is possible that if user enter PO number in MIGO then freight item should not appear (Based on material group or item category).
    Also we are using quantity variance in Invoices, is it possible system don't block freight items as goods receipt is not required for these.

    For not receiving the goods with respect to freight line item in PO,
    1. First uncheck the Goods receipt indicator in PO delivery tab,.
    2. also uhchek GR based invocie verification in Invocie tab,
    3. As GR based invocie verisfication is not activated system will not block for quantity variance.

    Download the update.
    Re-enable the AV and Firewall software.

    We normally run /sapapo/rm60rr20- /sapapo/md74.....for reorganising independent requirements in SNP.
    But we found that its not deleting requirements for some part numbers. Can any one please tell me why?.
    Is this anywhere linked to master data?

    In the main SAP menu under Master Data, there is a link to look at the change documents of master data. You may want to go to product change documents and see what are the changes that were made to the products where you are unable to reorganize the PIRs. There can be some common changes that you should be able to figure out.

    What computer operating system is involved in the Premiere Elements 11 and 13 issues? Same computer or different ones? Are you installing from purchased download installation files or from purchased installation disc? Does Premiere Elements 11 work completely on this computer whereas 13 will not?
    Let us go through the typical drill so as to take nothing for granted.
    1. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working with an individual home computer or in a
    school or company network?
    2. Are you running the program as Administrator and is there any "domain" account involved?
    3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on the computer with Premiere Elements?
    Let us start by ruling in or out any of the above, and then we can decide what next.
    Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
