A simple question: how do I update and SAP table (that I have created) from my BSP? Maybe there are tuorials out there, but I haven't found it ...

Hi,
if you have the table in your BSP as an internal table (example: wt_mytable), and the ABAP table is called mytable, you can use this code:
modify mytable from wt_mytable.
This will add new entries and modify existing ones, based on the contents of your internal table wt_mytable.

I think for that anyway you will have to use JCO as the middleware to connect to SAP R/3.
So what you can to do is to write three RFCs and call them through JCO from your JAVA application.
1. First BAPI for reading the dictionary information about an SAP table.
2. Second to read data from the table.
3. And, third to write data to that table.
But if you want to edit any table (and not a specific table) then your program will become even more complex since then you will have to pass the table name and information dynamically to the BAPIs.

I know how to update database table from internal table in one shot (batch) but is the reverse possible? Can I update some fields in an internal table from a database table in one shot (without looping) because my internal table is huge? You can do it MAYBE , i think you can reverse the update doing a ROLLBACK, but only after you update....not after the program finishes..
To update some fields at once use:
UPDATE DBTABLE FROM TABLE IT_TABLE

My requirement stands like this, I have a few z tables that need to populate from my C# application by use of the .Net connector.
I haven't found a BAPI or RFC that allows me to add records to any table, but I don't know all the RFCs.

sandeep DabralYou have to use SAP .NET connetor to make interface with SAP. This is better way of doing interface between .NET and SAP.
You create web service (wsdl) in .NET 2003 and try to use that in .NET 2005.
You're getting the two technologies confused ......
.Net Connector is used for RFC-type interfaces. It calls Bapi's directly. Web services are not involved for this type of interface.
WSDL files are used to generate proxies for the .Net client to call Web Services (typically web-enabled Bapi's). This type of interface uses SOAP protocol not RFC and does not use the .Net Connector. Enterprise Web Services may be discovered using the .Net Enterprise Service Explorer, which is a different component from the .Net Connector.

Calling SAP Transaction from BSP
I wonder whether it is possible to call SAP transaction from BSP application and pass to it some data; e.g., PO# when calling VA02?
The called transaction could appear in a separate MS IE Window (like in some Portal applications) or in SAP GUI.

Thank you in advanceI have launched the Java SAPGui from BSP pages before. I used SNC so that the users were logged on via Single Sign On. I store the Java Gui in the Mime directory. You can force the startup transaction. Theorectically you could also Gui Scripting to try and control the Gui and force in the default value for your PO field. I have not tried that however. You will probably want to check the Service Marketplace for documents on the Gui Scripting. The following is the code from my BSP page to launch the Java Gui in the Browser as an applet:

How to update Records of SAP table from .CSV file

I have written a code which takes a data from (,) delimited CSV file and adds it into the Internal table.
Now I want to update the all fields in SAP table with the Internal table.
I want to use Update statement.
Update <table Name> SET <field needs to update> WHERE connditon.
I don't want to iterate through thousand on record in sap table to check the where condition.

I've a scenerio where i've to updated LIKP table, when user save the HUPAST. I've created the BDC program which update the likp table using VL02N transacton. but when i'm calling the BDC from a BADI its giving a error, as i'm trying to update the same delivery number. (Delivery already updated by user).
I'm now trying using events, i've traced an event CHANGED in object type LIKP , which is fired when HUPAST is saved.
How do i update the event changed ??? and call the bdc program from the event.

You can do it PAI under module USER_COMMAND. and you can use standard UPDATE/MODIFY/DELETE statements to update ur database table and make sure u use a commit work after the use of ablove mentioned statements.

Updating database table from an internal table
Hi All,
I am updating a database table from an internal table.
I am changing the non-key fields in that table.
when I check sy-subrc = 4.
Record already exists, because I am changing non-key fields of the
database table.
Is there any addition like to accept the duplicate keys with update.
Alternatively, I have used Modify, It is adding new record,
Again, I have search the old record and use Delete on the database table.

You are right, the field which I am trying to change is a part of primary key.
Because, sy-subrc = 4. says,
No line with specified primary key exits in the database table.
I have a Z-tabel, with Kunnr Vkorg Matnr Bzirk Bztxt Split_percentage
In this table primary key consists of KunnrVkorgMatnr+Bzirk.
I am able to change the Split_percentage using UPDATE.
Now, my client want to change Bzirk, Bztxt also in the table.
How can I Go.

Updating SAP table field directly?
Hi all,
The client is using SAP for 2-3 years and this will be replaced by new SAP system ( same version - 4.6c) in few months.
So as to get data from old system we are doiong conversion right now. In this client, PO creator name is very important and it drives so many things. When we will do conversion and convert old PO into the PO in the new system, the username ( created by) will be "batch user".
Client somehow want to retain the username, the original username of old POs.
For this, they are asking to update the EKKO-ERNAM field directly once the new POs are created ( we will have old PO - new PO mapping and user name).
In my view, it is not advisable to update the SAP standard table directly. But i want the opinion from you guys that what are the implications of updating field directly. Is it advisable? Is there any other way to meet this requirement?

(It may stop support in future)
4. But for your requirement,
it the po user will be "batch user",
then
thru some Z program,
u may do so.

and concern from the FUNCTIONAL CONSULTANT !

Data extraction into sap table from legacy oracle database

I have a scenario where I have two different software systems (SAP and xyz systems), where a intermediate table will be created in between the two systems that is shared. Data will be updated by the xyz systems into this shared table. Now, my questions regarding this shared table.

1. Push mechanism
Write a RFC on SAP side to insert entries into the table.
Call the RFC from xyz application passing the data you want to insert.
2. Pull mechanism
Write a ABAP Program, where you can somehow read the data of the xyz application and insert data into the table.
3. Flat file
Dump the data from xyz application into the file.
Write a ABAP program to read the file and update the table. -
How to access data from SAP Tables from a Webi report

I have a webi report for financial data and from a Bex query which is build on a Cube (this has data from 2 SAP ECC systems)
i want to build a functionality where in i can call some SAP Table data from this webi report. i should be able to pass information or some hard code where it can understand the source system it has to pick data from.
in SAP BI, we have this ption wherein we can achieve this through RRI..
is this possible in Webi ?

Using hyper link /open doc we can call this report from the webi report created on top of your Cube .

I am working on a report to generate cash flow forecast, where in one of the fields is "Payroll", in which its being mentioned as:
In the selection screen: I am entering Project ID, profit Center and Period(in MM/YYYY format).
Selection of all entries in table COSP for selected cost elements above, value type 1, version , all periods and for all selected WBS elements and all objects underneath.
From this, update table COFP with information from COSP with value type 62 and same period.
For updation of various fields the following information is being given.
How should we update COFP?
New entries per OBJNR/PERIO and HKONT are required via using the information from COSP:
COFP-MANDT = SY-MANDT
COFP-KOKRS = if COSP-OBJNR begins with PR
