Update to OS lion with UP TO DATE program

I purchased my new Macbook Pro on 28 Jun 2011 through the apple online store. It fell in the period when I should be eligible to update my OS to Lion free through UP TO DATE program. However when I tried to update, the system stated that it could not find my seriel number or the seriel number is not eligible. I am sure I key in the correct seriel number. Anybody here could help me to suggest what is happening here please. Thanks a lot.

Hopefully it will be fast.
The call center has closed at this moment here. Feel like cant sleep before get it done. hehehehe

    Will I be able to update to Mtn Lion with File Vault 2 running or will I need to unencrypt ?

    I disagree. You are doing a major operating system upgrade. That changes all the base OS files, including the file vault files.
    I would think it foolish to do that type of upgrade with File Vault enabled.
    But we will find out as many will do the upgrade with File Vault enabled and if they have problems they will surely post about it.

  • Button on Form to Update a specific field with hard coded data

    Hi Guys,
    This will probably be a nice a simple issue for you guys, but I have ben struggling on how to do this for hours!
    On my form created by a report I have a field called status that is pulling the data from the order_status column contained in the customer_orders table.
    What I am looking to do is to create a button on the form that once clicked will change the order_status to "Complete" and update the customer_orders table.
    I have attempted to do this by creating the button and also a proccess on the page, and have assigned the button to the process
    I have set the process as PL/SQL and have entered the following code:
    BEGIN
    UPDATE customer_orders
    SET order_status='Complete'
    WHERE customer_order_id =:P7_customer_order_id;
    END;
    However when I click on the button, the page just refreshes and the field has not been amended!
    Please Help
    Thanks
    kev

    I don't know of any example apps containing that off-hand. I've done this sort of thing several times before, but also can't post them as-is on apex.oracle.com due to sensitivity.
    I can tell you the steps I would follow:
    1) Create a button - in a region position or among region items - doesn't matter. If doing it as a button in a region position it will submit as the button name; if doing it as a button among region items it will submit as the button label.
    2) Create a PL/SQL after-submit process (On Submit - After Computations and Validations). Put the PL/SQL code in for the process (your update code looked fine to me, syntax-wise at least). Continue on in the process wizard and when it gets to where it wants to know if there is a condition, see the dropdown When Button Pressed - you'll want to select the button from step 1.
    3) Then, depending on what you want it to do next you would provide a branch - it could be a branch back to the same page refreshing the data with the new status or move on to another page.
    Are these the steps you followed?
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Problem after update to Mountain Lion with QuickTime

    Hello! I have a Macbook Pro early 2011. After updating to ML i have a problem with QuickTime player 10.2. I cant open any video with this player. For example i also have flip4mac + perian and i cant play an avi file. Specifically, i can open but it doesent play. I click to play button, but nothing works... I can see image but doesnt play normally.
    But the most strange is, that i cand open also a .mov (quicktime file).. I export a video from my Aperture Library, and when i press play, the video plays ,but i cant see anything... only black screen. The video plays normally within aperture app..
    Quicktime player 7 is ok... but QuickTime player 10.2 doesnt work.. why?

    Is the time capsule the only router in the network?
    Try setting the lease time in the TC to very short value.. 20min or even less, 10min. It will not add signficant network traffic but might keep the Air updated to the TC.
    I would also use SMB compatible name for the TC as well as wireless.. ie short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
    Set a different name for 5ghz so it cannot swap around.
    And lock the wireless channels. Try each channel in turn, to see if any are better.

  • Mac OS X Lion Hardware Up to Date Program

    I have been waiting for my code to get OS X Lion for more than a day now.. The up to date site said it wouldn't take more than 24 hours... Is this due to server load?

    I talked to apple care, and they said that since it was the first day..there was a huge load on apple's servers. Since they dealt with theapplications on a first come first serve basis. Gues well just have to wait

  • Ensure List/Menu populate my update form with the correct data before update

    Hello,
    Please how do I ensure my update form is populated with the correct data before update?
    On my update page I have text fields and select fields (dynamic list/menu). When I open my profile page to make updates, I see the field well positioned in the text fields but in the select list/menu fields, I see "Select from list" instead of the value that was initiated selected
    Correct Values before update
    Wrong values during update
    As you can see from the images below, when I open the update page, the list automatically populate the select fields with the last values in the list instead of the Initial values that where selected by the user before the update.
    Can anyone please review and let me know where I have gone wrong.
    Thank you
    Mike

    Hello All,
    Once more thank you. I have sorted the issue out.
    I observed that I was selecting the wrong field. I selected the field matching the record set of the select instead of the field matching the record set of the table I am working as seen on the image belew
    I was selecting this - This is the record set of the table that hold values for the city select list
    Instead of this. This is the record set of the table behind the form I am working on
    My issue is now re-solved.

  • Up to date program 404 for mountain lion

    Trying to update to Mountain Lion with the Air I picked up yesterday.  If I click link in the Up to Date page it just beings up a 404.  Known issue or am I alone?

    Yeah I am getting 404 here is exact text:
    Error 404--Not Found

  • Updating service contract line item's end date

    Hi,
    I am trying to extend the end date on a line item in a service contract via the DI and it is giving me the following error:  'Item's end date cannot be greater than contract's end date' and I don't understand why.
    I retrieve the service contract object, change the header end date then find the line item  I need, update it with the same end date and then issue call the SC update method.  Here's my code:
        Try
                 SC.Lines.SetCurrentLine(SerialNbrLineNumber)
                 NewStartDate = LineEndDate
                 'calculate new end date & extend service contract
                 NewEndDate = NewStartDate.AddYears(Warranty_Duration)
                'never make the contract end date earlier than it had been
                SC.EndDate = IIf(NewEndDate > SC.EndDate, _
                                                             NewEndDate, _
                                                             SC.EndDate)
                'update service contract detail with new end date
                 If NewEndDate > LineEndDate Then
                     SC.Lines.EndDate = NewEndDate
                 End If
                 If SC.Update() <> 0 Then
                    rs.RtnCode = -1
                    rs.RtnMessage = B1Comp.GetLastErrorDescription()
                 End If
    I did see something in the di help that mentions that B1 calcs an end date based on the "duration of coverage" field but I don't think I could use that because I might only change the end date for one line item.
    BTW I can do this in the application with no problem.
    Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Known B1 bug.  Should have checked support first.  More info on note # 1026540

  • A bug in Fire Fox's update that is conflicting with PLESK site builder

    I asked AISO.net support for help because when I opened the PLESK Site-builder to edit my website, all I saw was HTML code instead of the WYSIWYG editor. They replied: Try using Internet Explorer as the site builder is optimized for that browser. It appears there is a bug in Fire Fox's update that is conflicting with the site builder program.
    Until fire fox addresses this issue you will need to use another browser.
    I want to use FIREFOX! Thanks, Janet

    Yes, there is a solution for this, made by Apple. Unfortunately nobody here is allowed to tell you what that is. Rules.

    Not sure what exactly you did (or not), but it looks as if you should attempt doing it all again, only this time all right and by the book. Many millions have done so, and sure it'll work for you as well.
    If you've indeed purchased ML already, you'll find it exactly there in the App Store: under Purchases.

    I have Microsoft Office 2004 on my MacBook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).  It is currently up to date with Microsoft updates.  I am running Mac OS 10.6.8.  I just updated my Mac software with "Security Update 2012-001".  I am now unable to print (Epson NX510 printer) from Excel or Word.  When I click on the Print menu item in Excel, there is a flash in the background like it is trying to open the print window, but nothing else.  I am able to print from other programs like TextEdit, Mail or KakeidaGraph.  As far as I know I have the latest Epson print driver.
    Also, I am also unable to open an existing Excel or Word file from the open menu - both programs lock up and do not respond.  I have to force quit.  After I restart Excel or Word I can open an existing file by double clicking on the file, but if I again try to open another file from the open menu, Excel or Word lock up.
    Any similar problems?

    Howdy,
    Apparently some are reporting that this causes the older PowerPC (PPC) applications that are supported in 10.6 via 'Rosetta' to crash upon attempting to open/save/print using any dialog box, or fail in other similar ways such as simply not printing or quitting, or freezing/hanging/crashing of the application.
    I have read of some companies that have indeed submitted proper bug reports to Apple, but that is not a guarantee of a bug-fix being issued.
    You might wish to read:
    http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/snowleopard/index.html#d02feb2012
    If you are unsure if you are still using PowerPC apps, if the application is currently running, look under the 'Activity Monitior' (in Applications -> Utilities), or alternatively you could check in the System Profiler, Applications. Check the column "Type".
    Here is a fairly simple way you can restore you system and restore you applications functionality again, if you don't have a recent clone or good Time Machine backup that you can restore from. If you do, restore from your backup prior to having installed the Security Update 2012-001.
    Time Machine restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427
    If you are restoring a backup made by a Mac to the same Mac
    With your backup drive connected, start up your Mac from the Lion recovery partition (Command-R at startup) or Mac OS X v10.6 installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility. Select the backup prior to your issues, and it will be restored back to the state it was in at that time.
    If you can't easily restore from a backup, you can instead do the following:
    - You first start by reinstalling your OS X 10.6.x, this will preserve all your user data, your applications, no worries there.
    - Then install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 (links provided below)
    - Make sure you're printers are showing up correctly in your system preferences, if not, re-add the printers
    - Then finally, run the Apple Software Update (by pulling down the Apple Menu), and install any and all remaining updates, except do not then re-install the Security Update 2012-001. It is possible that you may have to reboot after installing some of the updates, and you may even need to run it a 2nd time to make sure that you've got all updates, except NOT the Security Update 2012-001.

    I got a refurbished mac yesterday, and it disent have the latest osxlion software, and i think it has snow leopard. When i clicked software update it says my software was up to date. Please help me get it freee, because i was supposed to.

    Apple includes Lion with its refurbished products. What you bought was a used computer. The best course of action is to try to get your money back and buy a factory-certified refurbished computer. Otherwise, you are likely buying someone else's problem.

  • I want to update the OS of the Macbook Pro I bought today to Lion, but at "purchase date" I can only choose 2011. Now what?

    I want to update the OS of the Macbook Pro I bought today to Lion, but at "purchase date" I can only choose 2011. Now what?

    Sorry but I don't completely understand your question or what you are trying to do.
    If you purchase a new MBP Today, Jan 3 2012, it should already have OS X Lion 10.7.x installed on it.
    Only some left over early 2011 model that stores may have had sitting around would of come with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Or even if you bought a Reburbished model from Apple it would of still came from them with Lion.
    So my questions are.
    1) Did you buy this new from a authorized Apple store or reseller?
    2) If not new was it purchased from an authorized Apple store or reseller?
    3) To my knowledge when trying to do updates to the OS there is no check of purchase date. So what exactly are you doing that asks for a purchase date?
    If new then just use the Software Updates in the Apple Logo menu item.
    If not new and it originally came with Snow Leopard or Leopard you will have to buy OS X Lion at the Online Apple Store. If that is the case then nyou need to put in the original date the unit was purchased NEW and or manufactured. That way the Online Apple Store can tell if Lion will function on that model properly.

  • Is it possible to downgrade to mountain lion with the help of a time machine backup after having updated to Mavericks?

    Is it possible to downgrade to mountain lion with the help of a time machine backup after having updated to Mavericks?

    Just to be clear, if by downgrade you mean uninstall, then the answer is technically, no.
    You can't uninstall an OS. You can erase and re-install the old OS, but if you don't have a prior backup of your data, you'll lose it during the erase procedure.
