Updated software-do I need to buy a wall charger????

I only have a usb cable to charge my ipod by. Itunes asked me if I wanted to update the software-I clicked yes, but then, after it was done, it told me that I needed to unplug it from my computer and put it in the wall charger-and it will not do anything but show me a picture of a plug and a wall-if I try to reset it, it shows a pic that shows that it is not charged! I have hunted around the apple site, but cannot find anything that addresses this.
do I need to go and buy a wall charger?
Is there another way to take care of this (preferable at the moment!)??
HELP!

it IS plugged in through the computer!
Yes, but not via a firewire port as was mentioned.
When updating or restoring some iPods via a usb connection, it needs to be plugged into power via the charger to complete the process, and this is why you see this icon displayed.
It's also why older iPods that required this step were supplied with a power adaptor as standard.
You may be able to complete the process via a car charger, or via a powered firewire port on the computer (with the required 6 pin cable of course) if you have access to either of those. Or maybe visit an Apple store if one is nearby.
Or you can try this.
No power adaptor? Try this.
Other than that, your iPod cannot be used until you complete this process.
You need to do this because you have (according to your signature) a 4th gen iPod. This is not an iPod Classic (which is the forum you are posting in).
