Updated to itunes 10.6.3 and now it won't recognize my iphone or ipad

Itunes updated to 10.6.3 and now it will not recognize my iPhone or iPad. I have tried uninstalling itunes and the amds following steps provided on the support site. Still nothing. My computer does show both as cameras though. Any ideas?

There has to be a fix without doing that.
You're not using any sort of hub or extender are you? iTunes doesn't always like that.
Tried different USB ports?
what operating system do you have?

It has been shown there are problems with the latest update of iTunes and Windows computers. What you need to do is remove and reinstall iTunes, and make sure that you follow the steps in this support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923. If you do not follow them exactly, you will just compound your problems. Once you do this, you should have no trouble having the phone recognized in iTunes.

I updated to iTunes 10.2.2, and now it doesn't recognize my iPod Touch!

I updated my computer to Snow Leopard, and I was prompted to update iTunes to 10.2.2. Okay, did that. Now iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod whatsoever! But my computer does as a whole: i.e., Aperture automaticaly opens as it usually does when I plug in my iPod.
So this is great. And there's no bug fix; I've googled for the past hour now. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix? Because for now, I can't update my iPod at all!

Just updated to iTunes 11.1.3 and now music won't sync

I have an iPhone 5 and I recently bought several CD's and wanted to sync them to my phone. When I connected my iPhone to my Mac, iTunes said there was an update, so I went ahead and updated the software and then attempted to sync my phone. It says it's going through the steps in the top window but once it finishes, it hasn't actually synced.
I have tried closing iTunes, restarting my Mac, restarting my iPhone, checking for updates to iTunes and my iPhone but so far nothing has worked. I would delete all the music & reload it back on but I have over 3,000 songs & they are mostly from CD's. Any other ideas or advice to help?
Also, when I look at the tab "On This iPhone" when it is connected, all the songs that I have purchased through the iTunes store are in grey, as well as the songs from the CD's I just bought & am trying to sync. Does this help answer why iTunes won' sync? Any help would be great, thanks!

I have a 4s, and I've had that problem, too. I've tried every method mentioned on the boards. If Ellips's suggestion didn't work, try this, and please let me know if it worked:
(I did the following while the phone was connected to my pc...if that makes a difference.)
1. On the phone, go to Music.
2. Click "More."
3. Click "Shared."
4. My phone lists "iPhone" and my iTunes Libary. Try clicking the name of your music library.
5. Wait until the circle makes its loop.
The synch still failed to complete, but all of my music was on my iPhone, again. Whew.

Downloaded new iTunes and now it will not recognize my iPhone or iPad

I just installed the latest version of iTunes yesterday. Now it will not recognize neither my iPhone nor my iPad. Is there a fix coming for this?? I can see from the comments that numerous other folks are having the exact same issue.

Going to venture a guess your Apple Mobile Device service isn't started.

I updated to iTunes 10.5.3 and now it won't connect to the iTunes store.

I've done everything on the Apple iTunes support website. I uninstalled v.10.5.3 and installed version 10.4 and it worked fine and as soon as I updated back to 10.5.3 the store quit working. Anybody else have this problem?

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

I updated my iTunes to 10.5, and now it won't open after I restarted my computer.

I installed the new 10.5 iTunes and resetted my computer, and then I went to go open iTunes and it wouldn't open. I waited for a good 5 minutes thinking maybe my computer was just being slow, but it wasn't. I resetted my computer, and tried doing it again and it still didn't work. I even shut it down and still nothing. I have a Windows XP, it's really old, but I didn't have a problem with the other iTunes before. Can anyone help? :\ I just want to update my iPod.

Try this, but copy the files that you'll be replacing and put them in another folder in case you need to put them back for some reason:
-Go to your Documents folder where your iTunes folder is that has these folders: Album Artwork, iTunes Library Genius, iTunes Library, etc.
-Go into the folder that says Previous iTunes Libraries and select the most recent library from before you had problems
-Copy that file and go back to the previous folder that has Album Artwork, iTunes Library Genius, iTunes Library, etc.
-You're going to replace two different files in the iTunes folder with the file you copied from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder: iTunes Library, and iTunes Library.itl
-The first copy can be renamed to the same name as the first file, iTunes Library
-The second copy, which will replace iTunes Library.itl, will be renamed iTunes Library.old
I had read online to replace only the .itl file, but that didn't work for me, so after playing around, this worked for me and everything was restored.

Maybe a little bit more of an explanation would help. What is actually happening? Saying that you can't sync apps or music opens up so many possibilities and if you could narrow it down ....

Updated to OSX Mavericks on iMac and now unable to access internet on iPhone or iPad.

iMac seems to be working ok, but would like to know how to get my ipad and phone working again please.

Were you using your Mac as the wifi hot spot? If so, the settings might of been changed during the install.
Double check to see if your Mac is putting out a wifi signal and check your Sharing prefernces.

I recently updated my iTunes to the latest version, and now it won't recognize any of my apple products. I have a first gen iPod touch, 4th gen. ipod nano and 5th gen. ipod nano. The ipod does work still, and is chargeable through a dock or a AC adapter. I've gone through all of the five Rs and reinstalled itunes, and nothing is working. My ipod won't show up in windows either. When I plug in my 5th gen nano, windows says the driver did not install sucessfully and itunes won't even acknowledge I've plugged it in. Any help would be fantastic, I'd really appreciate it. I put new music on my ipod all the time, and not being able to do so *****.

Well yesterday I finally broke down and called apple service... I spent $29 and 1.5 hours on the phone, but the operator was finally able to fix my ipod. There was an issue with the itunes update, and it had corrupted. After uninstalling, installing, and updating several drivers, programs, and resolving other issues, my iPod finally works. Even better, the operator gave me a way to contact him again if I am having issues, free of charge. I would have much rather fixed this myself without spending the additional money, but I'll admit there was no way I could've done what he did, as there were certain orders to uninstalling Apple programs. My advice? Bite the bullet and call. They will get your iPad working again. (:

HT1386 Recently I updated iTunes on my PC and now the "Summary" for syncing my iPhone no longer appears near the top of my iTunes Window. The Summary lists items that I can sync with my iPhone such as "Music, Photos, Apps" etc.

Recently I updated iTunes on my PC and now the "Summary" for syncing my iPhone with iTunes no longer appears near the top of my iTunes window. "Summary" lists items I can sync such as "Music, Photos, Apps", etc with drop-down boxes I can use to manage how I sync those items. An icon for my iPhone does appear near the top right corner of the iTunes window; however, when I click on the icon, the sync automatically begins and there is no display of what is syncing or how much space has been used or how much space is left for syncing music, photos, apps, etc. The new iTunes window no longer lists "Devices" on the left-hand side of the window. Has anyone had the same issue?

In iTunes go to View>Show Sidebar.
