Updating AIR 17.0 Problem

Hi,
Because of the issue here, I needed to update my AIR SDK to 17.0 . But updating rendered my Flash Builder to not open or act weirdly, let me explain:
When I downloaded AIR SDK for Flex Developers from Download Adobe AIR 17 Beta - Adobe Labs, and extracted the files at FlashBuilder/eclipse/pluging/...compiler.../AIRSDK, FlashBuilder was behaving weirdly as such:
I guess it is due that these files doesn't include compiler, so I decided to download AIR SDK 17 & Compiler Beta, and copied the files to same directory (FlashBuilder/eclipse/pluging/...compiler.../AIRSDK). This time when I open FlashBuilder it showed this warning at start:
And when I tried to debug my application it doesn't show my application file at "Debug configurations...", and I was not able to "Set as Default Application" my AS file since it was disabled:
Also when I made any changes on my files and saved them, triggering project build, it showed this error:
And I decided to take the first warning seriously; I restarted FlashBuilder to see if the problem persists, this time FlashBuilder didn't even start. It showed splash screen, "Loading workbench" etc and silently closed. I repeated few times and it didn't change. When I restarted my computer it was opening once, behaving as described above and then when I restart doesn't open.
I also downloaded and installed AIR 17.0 end user application to my computer and repeated all steps but it didn't work. Also I tried overwriting AIR SDK for Flex Developers files on my previous AIR SDK 16.0 which was working, but FlashBuilder didn't open at all.
I would like to add that project was compiling and working normally before the update on FlashBuilder. Version of FlashBuilder is 4.7. I am a novice Mac OS user I may be skipping a very basic os-specific step.
Thanks in advance.

Ok it seems I was trapped by double trouble. First was that I used AIR SDK for Flex Developers, which doesn't include a compiler. So I was convinced that problem is about updating AIR SDK. But using AIR SDK 17 & Compiler Beta was actually solving this problem.
I was still not able to work on my project since I had another problem which I was blind to see: corrupted .actionScriptProperties file. It got corrupted with the last git merge I did, and it was not able to solve this problem from FlashBuilder since it was not letting me go into Project>Properties>.. Build Path, saying that it is corrupted.
Finally I reverted to my last commit and I was able to reach properties. Problem solved.

  • Cant update AIR due to adminstrator problems

    I am trying to update AIR but every time I get this message................An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.   As far as I am aware, I am the administratior.

    Download this file (TakeOwnership.zip)
    Unzip it and double click the file. Click Yes and OK to install it into your registry.
    Then, open Windows Explorer to the "Computer" window.
    Right click the C drive and select "Take Ownership".
    A command prompt window will open as permissions are changed allowing you "Owner access" to everything on your C drive.
    Note: It WILL take a while to apply permissions to the entire drive. Let it run completely. The command prompt window will close when it's finished.
    THEN run the installer.

  • Problem with updating AIR app

    I've had updating working fine until I recently started using
    a secure digital certificate. I realize that I can't update from
    the an old version that had the certificate I generated myself, but
    even after uninstalling the old version and installing a new
    version that was created with the new certificate and then trying
    to update it give's me this error:
    Sorry, and error has occured.
    This application cannot be installed because this installer
    has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for
    assistance.
    For my update process I'm downloading the updated .AIR file,
    saving it to the applicationStorageDirectory and then calling the
    updater. Once the update fails, if I then browse to the updated
    .AIR file and run it directly, it works fine and I'm able to update
    that way, so I know that the .AIR file isn't corrupted.
    Is there some other important element I'm missing that could
    be causing this to fail?

    The most common cause of a failed update with the same
    certificate is that the version number passed to the Updater API
    doesn't match the version number in the AIR file.
    BTW, starting with AIR 1.1, you can perform an update between
    two different certificates. See e.g.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/simplicity/2008/09/switching_certificates.html

  • Cannot update AIR from 3.5 to 3.7

    When trying to update AIR I get this message "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."  Get similar message when I tried1 to uninstall AIR so I could do clean install.  Am running Windows 7 Professional SP1 (64 bit) on Dell Inspiron 580.

    I'm sorry you're running into installation issues with AIR.  Microsoft has a utility that can help resolve installation problems.  Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system.  Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.

    If you still encounter problems, we'll need to review the AIR installer log to better diagnose the issue.  Please post back with the log contents.  You can find instructions for finding these logs here:

  • Air and sqlite problem - cumulating results

    Hi,
    I got problem with sqlite in air.
    The problem is that sqlStmt.getResult().data is gathering data from separate Select statements, when  it should be separate results. As in this example, where I call "select" function once, and AFTER geting it's result I call it again with different query.
    public function select(q:String):void {
    conn.open(dbFile);
    sqlStmt.addEventListener(SQLEvent.RESULT,selectComplete);
    sqlStmt.text = q;
    sqlStmt.execute();
    private function selectComplete(e:SQLEvent):void {
    oSqlReturn = sqlStmt.getResult().data;          //this is where sqlStmt.getResult().data remembers previous results and adds current ones to the array.
    conn.close();                                                  //but here sqlStmt.getResult() is null
    sqlStmt.removeEventListener(SQLEvent.RESULT,selectComplete);
    So  after second Select returns I got sqlStmt.getResult().data with results from the first and the second statement.
    Maybe one of You had some simmilar problem and is able to help me with this.

    Thanks for help. It is recomended to use different instances of SQLStatement. But it wasn't the case.
    I changed to asynchronious connection and I added SQLMode and now it works.
    So instead of
    conn.open(dbFile)
    now I got this:
    conn.openAsync(dbFile,SQLMode.UPDATE);
    So I think that the problem was becouse I was listening to result events of synchronious connection.

  • Macbook air Shut down problem

    Hi everyone,
    I used to have the shut down problem with my Macbook air. I have an 11" Later 2011 Macbook air.
    The problem did not go away after updating to Mountain lion.
    I just realized that although I was closing all programs, I was not ejecting my 3G modem/dongle.
    Once I ejected it before commanding it to shut down, it did shut down properly.
    I thought I should share it with you. May be there is a program that has not been closed or a devise that has not been unplugged/ejected properly and is restricting the shut down.
    It worked for me. Hope it will work for you.
    Enjoy your Mac.
    J.

  • Updating AIR

    To use Acrobat I am told I need to update AIR. When I try I get a message saying an error occured. The only option than is to try again. The Quit button doesn't work. Tryin Udate again doesn't work either. Hours later, including an unhelpful online chat with Adobe, I still have the problem.

    Hi there,
    Adobe Acrobat doesn't require AIR to run.  That said, the Acrobat.com Desktop Application was AIR-based and would often require an update prior to launch.  If that's what you're trying to launch, I'd recommend that you simply uninstall it.  It's no longer supported.  To use Acrobat.com, we recommend logging into the web-interface directly here: http://acrobat.com/signin.html
    If I've misdiagnosed the problem you're having, could you provide us with a bit more detail?
    -David

    I am having the same problem.  I even changed my password and updated all of my security information.  Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work.  Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00.  So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid.  Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

    Do you have a bootable clone from prior to the update? If so, roll back with that.
    Are your apps that won't open PPC and do they need Rosetta? Do you need to activate Rosetta?
    Have you considered reinstalling 10.6 from your install disc and then coming forward with the 10.6.8 Combo Updater, then doing software update and not including whatever it was you installed that caused this propblem?
    By the way - what update was it that caused this problem?

    Highly unlikely that it says any such thing.
    Try telling us exactly what version of iTunes is installed and what if any messages appears when trying to update it.
    What Operating System is the computer running?

    Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:
