Updating for an hour

I just downloaded Photoshop elements 11 and premier elements 11 and it said to Restart my computer. I did so and it has been updating, stuck on 4 of 7 for over an hour. Help

Updating what? If you are on Windows, only Windows Update updates during the restart.

That error is usually a hardware error. Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and have it checked.

I have a disabled iphone 4 and when i try restoring it, it says i need a update and restore it and its been downloading the update for 6 hours

i bought a iphone from my freind and its disabled and i have tried to restore it but when i do i tells me i need a update, and when i do this it tells me i need to wait 6 hours for the update and i just need to restore the iphone. i need help

I'd say it's possible that you internet connection is slow. I would try to cancel the download and possibly restart the router, then try the update again.

I tried to restore my iPod Touch after too many incorrect passcodes were tried. iTunes downloaded an update for 4 hours, but nothing changed with the iPod.

My daughter's friends tried to guess her password on her iPod Touch 4th generation too many times, and now she is locked out, and the iPod displays the message, "iPod is disabled. connect to iTunes." I connected it and tried to restore it. iTunes recognizes the iPod. iTunes said it needed to download an update, although everything on both the iPod and iTunes should be current. The update ran for over 4 hours, but when it ended, nothing else happened. The iPod is still disabled. How can I fix this? Thanks.

- Try a reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try a manual install. See:

- Place in recovery mode and the retore. For recovery mode:

Satellite U505-S2970 has been installing an update for 2 hours.

I just got my Satellite laptop yesterday and it has been working fine. Today I went to shut it down and it said it had to install updates. So I shut it down and when it got to the 13th update it just stayed there. That happened 2 hours ago and it still hasn't changed. I tried restarting it by pressing the button and it just came back to the same installing update 13 out of 29 screen again.

Leave it there another couple of hours.
If it doesn't finish properly, restart it the same way. If the same thing happens or it doesn't boot normally come back here for instructions.

HT1222 ios 7.02 update stuck... I've turned computer on/off. Trying to avoid resetting iPad. Been updating for 15 hours.

Does anyone have any issues with ios 7.02 update? It seems my update is stuck for the last 15 hours and I am trying to avoid resetting my ipad.

The actual 7.03 update should take an hour to download. Fifteen hours is way too long.
Resetting is probably your best option at this point.

AppleTV will not update. for 12 hours my product has been stuck on step 1 "preparing update"

For the last 12 hours ive been stuck on step 1 of the update. I know you are not supposed to unplug the product during update, but i have no patience and after 12 hours i did unplug and attempted a restore. However before it shut down it started the update and now back to where i started, even before the restore could happen. HELP!!!!! Please

Nano has been updating for eight hours and counting...

I started to update my Nano over eight hours ago and it's still not done...it's the latest update and I figured I'd better do it. The first time I tried to update it, I got an 'unknown error' message, then tried again. Is the update just not working and if so, would it be bad to disconnect the iPod if it never finishes updating? iTunes does not display the iPod under 'Devices'. This is the first time I've tried to update my iPod. It doesn't normally take this long to update, right?

i had the same problem with my nano i think it is something to do with the actual update and not the nano's. what i did to make it stop was when you plug your ipod in the computer when the update flashes up dont accept. add music and artwork or whatever you need to put on the ipod and then click on devices where the ipod should be and on the front page click update and after a minute or two mine updated and worked. maybe a lucky coqincisdence but if it dont work just keep on trying.

I Am updating my 5s to the new software Using my laptop. In doing so it seems stuck on step 6 of 6. I just don't know if this is normal to take so long or I need to start over, restore, etc.

My FireFox for Win 8.1 has been updating for 2.5 HOURS. Why is it taking so long.?

After my win 8.1 laptop came out of sleep mode, Fire Fox told me it was running (where and how I do not know) and I could not access it unless I restarted. I shut down and restarted. FireFox asked me to "update" firefox. It has been updating for 3 HOURS. What is going on???

ICloud Mail file is not updating after many hours, many new attempts

I installed Lion OS on my MacBook Pro (2010) and moved from mobileme to iCloud. When I open my Mail program, it has said it needs to update my Mail files (of course), and I told it to do so. After letting it sit there literally for 8 hours, power supply plugged in, the bar showing progress of the file update goes only to the 25% finished mark and then just sits there! I have cancelled that and started over several times and left it updating for 3 hours or more, several more times.
I realize that my file is big, but if it were too big or choking and freezing, it would show "Not Responding" if I tell it to Force Quit. So far this mail file update process has NOT made Mail show as "not responding" upon Force Quit.
I have set my power supply Energy Saver settings in System Preferences to "never" shut down (only for this time period as I migrate to iHell) and I've told it not to shut down the hard disk nor to sleep.
The Progress/Status bar just keeps humming along as if it is working on the mail file update....but never moves past about 25% complete.
Help!!!

It is not normal and something has most likely gone very wrong.
On a fast internet connection it should only take between 2 to 15 minutes to download the firmware then around 5 minutes to update the phone.
You should never attempt to update on a slow or unstable internet connection.
If the phone is still on and working it is safe to disconnect the cable. If the phone is off all you can do is remove the cable, then try it to see if it's working.
