Upgrade has caused many failures...can I do a reset to default software?

I upgraded my Galaxy III on 7/20/14 and have had many failures of the phone since then. I generally charge it every night and 3 mornings last week when I went to check my phone it was blank....like it was turned off. None of the buttons responded. I finally took the battery out and then it powered up letting me know that it was fully charged, so I know that it was not a discharged battery. It has also distorted the wallpaper picture on the lock screen. The camera failed 3 times last Saturday. I had to reboot to get the camera to work.
In the settings there is a factory data reset. What do I need to do to save all my info before I do something like that. Will doing that put the original software back on and thus solving this problem? I had no problems with my phone before the update.

Practically all who have Galaxy S III, the upgrade brings us problems. But from what I've researched, this problem is only Verizon because I have friends with the same phone but ATT and T-Mobile and have no problems. One year I have the Galaxy III and I have been 3 upgrade makes. Each upgrade makes the phone run slower. Call customer service and they suggested to change the device for other newest model. I think it's a ruse Verizon to sell new phones. Unfortunately we can not access the original software that was bringing the phone. When I bought worked very fast but now is a turtle. I will cancel Verizon and I'll go to another company. regarding your question, you can make a back up of your information by sending it to a Google account (g-mail) and then rescue her from there. I did it once but the phone just continued as reinstall the latest software. Luck.

Adding to tonefox's comment, if you had this upgrade button before and now you do not, it means your iPhone had previously been on iOS 5 or higher and now is at a lower level. That would indicate some type of hacking or jailbreaking, which would be a bad situtation.

It doesn't matter if it was unlocked. It still must be returned to Canada for repairs, either in warranty or out of warranty. That's the reason it's a bad idea to buy an iPhone in a different country than the one you plan to use it in.

Iphone 4 upgrade to ios 5 has caused many problems

Sounds like you will need to do a restore but don't restore from backup... Treat the phone like a new phone when you restore. It will wip everything. First you want to get all your camera roll pictures off the phone and into a folder in your pictures.
Once the phone is initialized you will have to check or uncheck all the apps you want and music and your photo folders from you my pictures folder taht you want. Then Sync.
On Itunes you may want to turn off the Sync when I connect option so you don't have to stop a sync in progress when you plug in. Then you can make all your choices and sync when finished. I once ran into a problem after stopping the sync that automatically kicked off when I plugged in

Broadband upgrade has caused iTunes to crash my computer!

Help - I've just upgraded to broadband (frustration over slow software / music downloads finally overcame my reticence regards security) but now, whenever I try to download software updates or music from Music Store my computer crashes (even more frustrating - where it took days for anything to download before with unreliable success, now I can't download at all).
I can surf the web fine (as you can see since I'm able to post this problem). I can even open iTunes & access the Music Store, neither of which cause any problem but as soon as I start to do anything which isn't passive access & try to download the computer dies - any ideas?

Installing Acrobat 9 Pro has caused a failure to download any pdf from any website.

When I click on a pdf file, including any of the help files on the Adobe site, I get a view of the file for a fraction of a second and then it is replaced by a grey screen saying ' Acrobat Plugin Crashed' and offering me the option of sending a report. I have sent many reports, to no avail. For example, I looked up some train times, and got only the briefest tantalising glimpse of the pdf before it was replaced by the grey screen. The system was fine previously, when I had only Acrobat Reader. How can I put this right?

I have tried using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, and I have the same problem, which is still being flagged up as a problem with Acrobat Reader. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium version 6.1.
Pdf files that are sitting on my desktop load successfully in Acrobat Reader, or with the Acrobat Pro that I loaded recently, but their ikons do not appear with the Acrobat red and white symbol. The error message and rapid disappearance of the pdf file, sometimes after a brief showing, occurs whenever I try to download a pdf file from the web. The problem is very annoying and I never encountered it until I purchased and loaded Acrobat Pro. What can I do about this plugin problem? V570 - Has too many partitions - Can I nuke one? I need a separate Data Partition!

I convinced a Buddy to buy a V570 two days ago. (I've used a Lenovo Laptop for work for a year, and it's been rock solid.) The box was delivered to his house a few hours ago. He lit it up and put his name on it, and then brought it to me, as I help his family out with their computers. (Our Wives are best friends.) I'm a bit geeky and usually know my way around these boxes. But I'm a little stumped on this one.
Normally on laptops they come with tons of bloatware, and it's usually faster to go up to the OEM's site, download all the latest drivers and utilities, then back up the original image before blowing it away, and installing a fresh Windows OS. One of the other main issues is most lappys have one big partition for the OS and Data. So if you get a Trojan or virus => it can nuke all of it. So I always divide the drive, and have a Data partition, so you don't lose everything if (when) something nasty occurs.
But in this case the Box really doesn't have too much bloatware, so I thought make the Factory backup disks, then uninstall the few unwanted programs, partition the C Drive, and create a Data drive in that space. I didn't even look at the hidden partitions so when I went to Create the Data partition I was warned Windows 7 64 Pro doesn't support more than 4 partitions on the operating system drive! If I go into Disk Management I see the typical small Win7 recovery 200 MB partition, a 654 GB C partition, a empty (?) 29 Gig Lenovo partition, and a 14.75 OEM partition. I'm used to the first 2 partitions but what's the rational for the last two from lenovo? One is the "factory" image, and I assume it's the OEM partition, so what's the Lenovo partition for? Can I shrink C, and enlarge the Lenovo partition, so it can become the Data Drive => without affecting the lenovo drives function?
I thought I may have to go with the new Windows install but I can find all the drivers /utilities software at the Lenovo Sites. So I'm a bit stumped and would appreciate your help.

     In one word, no.
     I would strongly advise you to just leave it alone, unless you want to spend hours on the phone to your friend, trying to fix all the problems your friend will encounter, with his "new" modded system.
     Please, I'm not trying to be nasty, or unkind. Those 4 partitions are the key to Lenovo's One Key Recovery. Lenovo has spent a lot of time, and engineering to make their systems as user friendly, and trouble free as possible. They built in the Enhanced Experience 2.0, and customized the Windows 7 software for fast booting. Just because you "can" repartition the drive, doesn't mean you "should".
     These forums are filled with users who messed around with their drive structure, used a modded BIOS, or just plain screwed up their programs and hardware, just because they "could". Then they want some urgent help for their machines that went wacky. The moderators on these sites have a hard enough job, keeping track of the various systems "as shipped", to do any troubleshooting on those systems that the user has repositioned the drive, or deleted the programs that Lenovo has included for recovery.
     As you've said, there's not a lot of bloatware on Lenovo's machines. You shouldn't have to reload a "fresh Window OS". If you do, some of the Lenovo's Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Win 7, and some other functions will be toast. That's why you don't see all of the Windows drivers on their site. Lenovo only includes the drivers that have been modified for your V570. Stick with them.
     So, in the end, yeah you can mess with the partitions, but you shouldn't. See this thread to know what you are getting in to, and be ready for your friend's late night phone calls.

Iphoto upgrader has caused a problem, iPhoto will no longer open its library

I had an old dvd of iphoto pictures which I wanted to bring into my current version of iphoto, I downloaded the iphoto upgrader and did as the instructions indicated but it seemed like I was in a loop, when I selected the library from the saved photos, the imac would indicate that I had to download the uopgrader (which I had, this is were it kept looping) So after several attempts I gave up, but when I treid to open my existing iphoto it came back with the same mesage saying
To open your library with this version of iphoto, it first needs to be prepared.
to prepare the library, use the iphoto library upgrader avaialble from Apple
So now it seems I cant access my existing iphotos ( I cant even tell you what version of iphoto I have as I cannot look at the "About iphoto" as it is greyed out) My imac is 2 years old.
Any help would be appreciated as I seem to have gotten myself into a hole and have no idea how I got there and more importantly how to get out.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you get when you launch iPhoto?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

It seems many of us are having problems with this new upgrade. I too now am having difficulty in sending messages. Really frustrating this upgrade - i fyou haven't upgraded yet then don't - not user friendly.

Apple are aware of and are working on a fix for the iMessage problem.
Downgrading is not supported.

Safari 5.0 update has caused many applications/options to bring errors

Like baltwo said, there's something wrong with the installation.
And because Safari hasn't been able to install properly, all your other internet dependent apps are failing, as well.
Are you on a reliable ISP? One that would not have a problem with a large install?
Do you have access to another Mac?
Did you migrate from a PPC to an Intel Mac?
This crash log is from June 13th.
Do you have a more recent one???

Upgrade has caused problems with hotspot, tethering, and "help"

I received notice that my Z10 os had an upgrade available, so I went ahead and upgraded to 10.1.0.2019. Now that I'm on a new version my wireless hotspot as well as tethering features no longer work. They worked the day before. I have an unlimited data plan with data roaming. Others in my org with the exact same phone and plan but earlier version os do not have this problem. The error message for both features (hotspot and tethering) is that I need to subscribe to a plan that allows these features. My plan is already unlimited data with roaming. After investigation with the provider, they reported that my features had not been "enabled correctly". They made some changes and these two features started working again. This is all very suspicious and dubious since the features were working prior to the upgrade.
The second issue is that now I constantly have "help" menu pop ups telling me how to use gestures to navigate on my phone. I don't want these but don't see where to turn them off. I guess this is the default behavior of the new OS. Apparently it introduced or modified some of the gestures. Until I actually went in and executed each gesture, it continued to display the help menu.
I'd just as soon revert back to the old OS if I have to live with all this new unhelpful stuff. I don't see a handy way to downgrade to a previous release either. right now my phone is far less productive a tool than it should be or was prior to the upgrade.
While all has been fixed now, it still points to some unfortunate issues with new OS.

As long as you are using the current version of firefox Firefox 7 sync is part of the browser. If you use the old version Firefox 3.6 sync was an add-on. If you have the add-on it may be removed see [[uninstalling add-ons]]

Activating sync should not be affecting the look of websites or webmail pages, possibly it is a separate problem.

SSL patch update has caused many issues with my iPhone 5c

Since the patch update completed, my iPhone is acting ridiculous. I cannot use safari. Every time I try to search something, it tells me it cannot connect to server. I also cannot delete voicemails. Once I delete, the phone freezes and the voicemail is not deleted. It comes back from deleted messages. When I hit the phone toggle button, it opens up my recent call list but it opens to the calls from Thursday, the day I did the update. It also deleted every text message that I had sent that day from my text history. I have shut the phone down, what other options do I have?

I have actually talked to a couple people that I know that have the 5c and it seems like it is a hit or miss. Some people have problems with the blue ones, im having issues with the white one, some people have no issues att all. COnsider your son luck that he has no problems. I have had problems with 3 different whote 5c over the coarse of 4 months now and contuining to have problems.

Lion has caused many problems for me. display , flashing blue.

I have a mac pro early 2009. Lion will not support two displays. It was running extremely slow but now that I disconnected a display it seems to be working fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have not tried new user or known good display I dont know what "know good display" is!
I still can not get my second monitor to even be detected now let alone the random blur flashing episodes
that keep happening. Almost feels like the more I try to fix this problem the worse it's becoming.
I will say this , my computer is running very well after all this troubleshooting.
FYI I do have two slightly different sized monitors, I've heard thats a problem.
Also a new situation is spotifiy is now indexing I am assuming this is happening because of all the shut downs
and reseting.

Question: How so I get both moniters to be detected and work with out Lion freaking out on my and flashing blue light back to desktop and then blue light again over and over in 20 second intervals. Its like its trying to find it the second monitor but can't.
Wait a minute .... both displays are on now, however blue flashing still happening at random. Now they are both out, now just blue , now falshing again .
Seems to be a pattern with whats happening.
