Upgrade phone charges on cell phone bill

Recently had loaner phone given bec we had the insurance from the store. Looked at my cell phone bill and was charged upgrade fee of 38.97 twice because when we got the phone back it did not work so they sent it off again! We were never told about this fee and it was no where near an upgrade from our current phone that we had sent in for repair!!

Was this Sprint? I've seen this happen before. Please contact the Mobile Manager at your local store and they will work with their rep to get these charges reversed. Or, you may try contacting Sprint directly and let them know the details of the situation. This should be able to be resolved fairly quickly.

Thanks!!

There still won't be a charge, FaceTime calls can only take place over wifi so there won't be any mobile charge to either you or the recipient. The only charge is what your internet service provider charges you for your wifi/broadband connection

• When on=line banking, or checking my cell phone bill, I can't download my statement or phone bill, the page will pop up, but will remain blank. No problem with I.E. What setting needs to be changed???

When I'm on a secure site, like my bank, or my cell phone account, I can't download my bank statement or cell phone bill. If I click on my bank statement, it will take me to a page with the list of my statement months. When I click on a month, another page will appear that says "about blank", but then nothing appears on the page. I'm guess it's a security setting, or a proxie setting, but I don't know which, or what to change it too. Help?? If I use I.E. (which I hate to use) everything works okay. Same problem if I try and download my cell phone bill from Verizon. Thanks

Thanks for your help firstly.
No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?
Thanks again

• HT204023 I've been using my personal hotspot between my iPhone and iPad, but I don't believe I've changed anything with my phone contract, will I be charged on my next bill?

I've been using my personal hotspot between my iPhone and iPad, but I don't believe I've changed anything with my phone contract, will I be charged on my next bill?

Depends on whether your carrier supports Personal Hotspot & how/if they charge for this feature. Some carriers include Personal Hotspot as part of your data plan, some require it be provisioned on your account. Contact your carrier & see what their requirements are. The fact that you have the Personal Hotspot setting indicates your carrier supports this feature.

• Is there a charge for cell phone if from Verizon to Verizon?

Is there a charge for cell phone if from Verizon to Verizon?

Are you asking if there is a charge for a CALL between two Verizon Mobile phones? Depends on the plan
If you are asking about a call to a Verizon landline from a Verizon Cell phone, then there is a charge, unless the number is part of your Friends and Family List

• HT1711 When I download music, does the charged get added to my phone bill?

I'm a little confused as to how this works. I'm not sure if the charge of my downloads go toward my phone bill or goes to some other account. Will I see the charges on my debit card? How does it work?

They go to whatever card you have on your itunes account.

• Will there be charging to my local phone bill?

I signed up for the unlimited call package to call landlines/mobiles. So is the connection fee still applicable? And will there be any charge to my local phone bill. As I see no decrease of the minutes usage from my phone bill after I start to use Skype to call landlines/mobiles.

iMessage uses DATA, not SMS/MMS services.
What can and does happen, is if for some reason the data has any issues, the messages will and can be sent as an iMessage AND SMS message, showing up on your bill.
I often get duplicate messages - sent (received on my end) as Text and iMessage.
Sprint, like all carrier reps, don't usually know much about what they're talking about.
Here's a test: turn off cellular data, connect to WiFi, and send some iMessages. Mark the date and time the messages were sent. Check your bill. There will not be any SMS charges showing on the bill, since iMessages were sent as data, not SMS/MMS.

• If I get Total Equipment Coverage for Droid Charge, will I be billed $99 when my phone is lost

If I get Total Equipment Coverage for Droid Charge, will I be billed $99 when my phone is lost
and replaced with a refurbished Droid Charge? (because of the $99 deductible)

Thank you to the community for your replies.
Its very frustrating when a device gets lost. Total Equipment Coverage protects you from paying full retail price for a device. Yes the deductible is 99.00 for a smart phone prior to Asurion sending out a replacement device. Please click this link to see the great benefits of Total Equipment Coverage.

• How do I get my phone billed corrected without wasting another 3 hours?

On March 3, 2015, I ordered two “iPhone 6 plus 64 GB” along with 2 protective cases from verizonwireless.com/. The iPhones were on the edge plan, one was an upgrade and the other was a new line being transferred from Sprint. They were to be shipped overnight. FedEx attempted delivery on March 4, 2015, but we were not at home at the time. There was a snow storm on March 5, 2015 so I don’t think there were any deliveries that day. On March 6, 2015, I checked the tracking information as I had not received the packages yet. The tracking information said they were delivered but I did not have them. I had to call FedEx twice on March 6, 2015 to find out where they were delivered. They called me back and told me they were incorrectly delivered to the Verizon store and were going to attempt to retrieve the packages and redeliver them. I called FedEx back on March 7, 2015 and found out they were delivered to 14937-C Shady Grove Rd, Rockville, MD 20850, which is The Wireless Center, Inc. an authorized Verizon retailer. I went to this store that morning and the store clerk told me that he remembered them receiving two packages with iPhones and cases, and they didn’t know what they were for. He looked about the storage room a few times but was not able to locate them and called his store manager who was on his way to the store. I came back later to the store and spoke with the store manager and he told me they didn’t have my packages and that I would have to call Verizon to resend the phones. I called FedEx again on March 7, 2015 to let them know that it was unlikely that they would be able to retrieve the packages. I called them again the following week on March 10, 2015 and they confirmed that they were unable to retrieve the packages (Spent a total of 37 minutes on the phone with just FedEx trying to track down the shipments). I also called Verizon Wireless on March 7, 2015 to get new iPhones shipped. I told the customer service rep. the above information and requested to get new phones sent. She told me that she initiated a “ticket” and would call me back in 24 hours and she confirmed that she would be able to call me in 24 hours as the following day was a Sunday. I never received a call back from this customer service rep. I called Verizon Wireless again on March 10, 2015 to check to see if new iPhones were sent and when I should expect to receive them. The customer service rep. told me I should call back tomorrow as there was no update to the “ticket.” So I called back on March 11, 2015 and got the same response that there was no update to the “ticket” and to call back tomorrow. So again I called back on March 12, 2015 and at that point I just wanted the nightmare over and the orders canceled and refunded so I could maybe try ordering again at a later time(Maybe with another phone carrier as my years of loyalty was running thin). The third time was the charm so I thought, the customer service rep. on March 12, 2015 told me the orders were canceled and my plan would go back to what I had before the orders as well as refunds for the protective cases. Well that has yet to correctly happen. I received a refund for one of the protective cases on March 12, 2015 for $35.76, but still have yet to receive a refund for the other protective case that was charged to my credit card on March 4, 2015 for $27.81. I got a huge surprise as the nightmare continued, when I got my March 15, 2015 phone bill. It had all the charges for the new iPhones as of March 4, 2015 that I never received. So I called Verizon Wireless again to correct. The customer service rep. said it would be corrected on my next phone bill. So I waited for my April 15, 2015 phone bill and it was missing the credits that I was supposed to receive and still charging me for the edge installments for one of the iPhones that I never received. So here I was again calling Verizon Wireless, this time the customer service rep. told me that she initiated two forms to process the credits and I would be contacted within 7-10 business days. Which is where we are now, still waiting for billing credits and having already spent over 120 minutes on hold or speaking with Verizon Wireless customer service reps. and another 37 minutes speaking with FedEx customer service reps., not to mention the 20 plus minutes ordering the phones and the other 20 minutes spent trying to recover the packages at the Wireless Center, Inc. store. Over 3 hours of my time wasted and I have got nothing and the issue is still not resolved.

1st - any charges on a credit card, call the credit card company and dispute those charges
2nd - get all your paperwork together and in order of the timeline of events and file an official complaint with Verizon.

HOW AND WHEN CAN I DISPUTE CHARGES?
If you're a Postpay customer, you can dispute your bill within 180 days of receiving it, but unless otherwise provided by law or unless you're disputing charges because your wireless device was lost or stolen, you still have to pay all charges until the dispute is resolved. If you're a Prepaid customer, you can dispute a charge within 180 days of the date the disputed charge was incurred. YOU MAY CALL US TO DISPUTE CHARGES ON YOUR BILL OR ANY SERVICE(S) FOR WHICH YOU WERE BILLED, BUT IF YOU WISH TO PRESERVE YOUR RIGHT TO BRING AN ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS CASE REGARDING SUCH DISPUTE, YOU MUST WRITE TO US AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ADDRESS ON YOUR BILL, OR SEND US A COMPLETED NOTICE OF DISPUTE FORM (AVAILABLE AT VERIZONWIRELESS.COM), WITHIN THE 180–DAY PERIOD MENTIONED ABOVE. IF YOU DO NOT NOTIFY US IN WRITING OF SUCH DISPUTE WITHIN THE 180-DAY PERIOD, YOU WILL HAVE WAIVED YOUR RIGHT TO DISPUTE THE BILL OR SUCH SERVICE(S) AND TO BRING AN ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS CASE REGARDING ANY SUCH DISPUTE.

• Payment Plan for Upgrade Phones

I think Verizon should have a payment plan for new upgrade phones. I have been a long time Verizon customer and in years past when my plan would come up for a replacement phone I always choose one of the top phones and upgraded for about $50. In today's time, due to Technology, to upgrade to say an I Phone runs around $300 by the time you get tax (CA), new charger- home and car as well as a hands free device. To pay that Big amount the next month on my bill is the reason I am holding back getting one and I want the best because new phones are always coming out and we will have a better ones and the focus is everything going mobile. If I could split that total into 2 payments, it would be a lot easier for me and I would be at the store tomorrow buying one. I think Verizon should do this because they would increase their phones sales immediately. No Other Phone Company is doing this and they could pick up new customers from companies that do not offer this. First to the Marketplace to do this has BIG Value.
In this Economy, Verizon could create a way to increase their sales and a sense of Goodwill to help the consumer at the same time...Novel Idea!!!!!!

Pay for the phones and service up front or use a credit card (as SydneyK suggested) ...Verizon isn't going to finance the phone purchase. They are in the business of providing wireless service, not financing equipment purchases.
I can imagine prices would go up if they ever WERE to do this, since I'm sure there would be defaults that the rest of us would cover with increased rates. No, thanks...

• Dear Verizon I can not afford this $1500 phone Bill

I have been a customer with Verizon for over 10 years. I have stuck with Verizon even though Metro PCS would be much cheaper for my family. I got my teenage son a iPhone 4 for Christmas. When I added him on my plan I'm 99% sure I discussed keeping my bill close to what it was already, which is around $200 a month. I thought that included unlimited text messages. My son went over his allotted 1,000 text messages and was charge $0.20 for the extra 5,000 text messages he sent. Now I have a bill for over $1,500. I ****** for many reasons. First of all I thought he had unlimited text messages. I was able to correct my plan to what it should have been from the get go AFTER the fact. Your customer service rep who originally order the phone for me should have put that in place. Secondly, I received an alert when my son was at 50% of his data usage, so I was able to let him know to use Wi-Fi at his friends house. Why didn't I receive an alert when he was close to going over on his text messages? What makes you people think I can afford $1,500 for a phone bill? I don't make that in 2 weeks pay. What really has me ****** is I have called customer service TWICE since I found out about this ridiculous bill. Both times the rep was supposed to check the tape from when I ordered the phone and see about adjusting my bill. They promised they'd call me back. I'm still waiting on these phone calls. I am very disappointed in your customer service. It seems like you are trying to push a loyal customer away. There is no way I can afford that bill living paycheck to paycheck with 3 children. I bill that could have been avoided if your sales rep would have done his job correctly and made sure I had the best plan for my situation. Hopefully I get a call soon, but after this situation I'm really ready to just wash my hands of Verizon. Can you hear me know????

• HT5538 does adding a phone number cost extra on my phone bill?

i want to link my phone number to my ipad. will it cost extra on my phone bill? i have AT&T and an iphone 5s.

If you are referring to enabling the 3G option, then there is an additional charge (and I think a separate number, but not sure about that). However, on the Apple Store site, here is the breakdown:
3G rate plans
iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G expands your coverage by letting you connect to a 3G cellular network from AT&T or Verizon Wireless — the same network used by mobile phones — when you’re on the go. So you can connect to the Internet when you’re not within range of a Wi-Fi network.
Network Provider
Data
Plan Cost
Activation
250MB per month
$14.99
Visit AT&T site for coverage map.
3GB per month
$30.00
5GB per month
$50.00
1GB per month
$20.00
Visit Verizon site for coverage map.
2GB per month
$30.00
6GB per month
$50.00

• Strange item on recent Phone bill

Hi. Can anyone throw any light on a strange item thats appeared on my phone bill received via paperless billing, today. I've been charged 31p for a 6 SECOND phone call......it lists it as 123 in the 'person called' and the type of call is named a Timeline. I've never heard of it. I never made that call, and heaven forbid, at THAT extortionate amount for such little time....should 'it' have lasted any longer!! Nobody else in this house uses the phone - and the only number I MIGHT have dialled at THAT time of day would be 1471 to find out if anyone called whilst I was out. Who are these Timeline calls from and whats this 123 number ? If anyone can help solve my curiosity then I'd be most grateful. Thanks.
Solved!

Thanks for your reply - but I never dial a speaking clock and as it happens have dozens all around this house - so I don't understand why I'm being charged for a service that I'd never dream of using......but thanks for informing me. Time to get on to BT - 31p here and 31p there and how many millions could they make if folks just DON'T check their bills ? Thanks. Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Did the online bill give a date/time of the call ?
It is possible that you made a call to 0123 xxxxxxxx, and by mistake missed the initial zero ? Then hearing something down the phone, hung up after those 6 seconds.

• HT201232 I have called the support number given, was on hold for more than an hour and received quite unpleasant phone bill for trying to sort out AppStore mistake! Is there any other options of getting "support" apart from calling these telephone numbers

My account was charged for buying app that I actually didn't buy. I was trying to sort out these mistake by calling the support number given (Russia). There was no other options like sending an email or calling some other number. I was on hold for one hour and a half! Is that normal for Apple support??? So apart from being charged for the app I haven't given my permission to buy, I also got a phone bill for calling the only support number available. Where can I submit my complain and what could be done about it?
Thank you,
Natalia

There is an email way to do this. See here: https://getsupport.apple.com/ContactInfo.action
The Russian Federation is one of the countries listed under Other.
