Upgrade queries

So I received a graphics tablet for Christmas only to find out that I need the 10.6.8 version or later to run it. As you can see I have 10.5. I think for sure that I need more RAM as well to run the upgrades because I'm seeing that I have 1.64 GB of free RAM. So I want to really do this right. So Im thinking of the full works. Leopard to Mavericks. Not sure this is wise. So tell me if I'm correct. I purchase each for 19.99 or whatever and I can't skip one and then I download the Mavericks, but how much memory do I need for each? Im not great at this at all.

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
(NB: PowerPC applications can still be run in Snow Leopard using Rosetta, but they will not work in later versions of OS X.)
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
and in the UK:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
Xserve (Early 2009)
iCloud system requirements:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4759
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
or Mountain Lion:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

  • Warranty and Upgrade Queries

    Five questions
    1. If I change (upgrade) the Hard Disk / RAM Chip by myself (ie, not changed by Apple Care), will it void the warranty ?
    2. What is the maximum supported Hard Disk capacity for Mac Pro late 2011 model ?
    3. Can I 'just' buy an HDD / RAM (of specified specifications) from market and put that on Mac ?
    4. After upgrading HDD, how to get the OS X back ? Can it be downloaded (and installed) online ?
    5. How do I know warranty expire date of my Mac ?

But yes, and you might be interested in an SSD.
The ideal way is to remove the hard drive, put it in an external case and boot from there, and with the new drive installed internally, then just clone the system back.  You can do the reverse, clone first and then move to extenal - OWC sells kit to make it easier.

  • Hard Drive And RAM upgrade queries

I have a Mid 2010 Unibody White MacBook. I want to upgrade the Hard Drive and the RAM. I currently have a 250GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM that came with the MacBook. I want to upgrade the Hard Drive to either 640 GB or 750 GB. On checking a few other Forums, I found that the maximum capacity this model can use is 500 GB.  I'd like to know if the Mac would accept a hard drive more than 500 GB and what would happen if i used one. And I would also like to know the specifications of the RAM and the HDD that can be used.

    shldr2thewheel wrote:
You can put in the largest capacity hard drive that is currently available for notebooks, and that is 1TB.  If you use larger than a 500 GB HDD the only thing that will happen is you will have more storage space.  It must be the following size to fit :  2.5" wide x 9.5mm tall
You can upgrade your MacBook to as much as 8gb ram and this is the kind it takes:
    204-pin PC3-8500 (1066MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
Have you any experience of this, I have never seen a MacBook with a drive larger than 500G, have you?

  • Pre-plugin upgrade queries related to extractor delta

    Hi All,
as part of plug-in upgrade, i'm aware that as a pre-plugin activity the delta queue has to be emptied before the upgrade(LO and 0FI_AR_3 for eg).
Is it neccessary to pull in the records from datasources that uses the Delta process <b>'E'</b>(2LIS_03_S196 for eg) and <b>'CUBE'</b>(COPA) also ?
    Best Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,
this is not necessary if OSS plug-in related note doesn't require this type of activity !
General rule says only that you have to delete (always!) SM13, RSA7 and LBWQ...when you performed this activity, you have only to check if there is some additional needs linked to your particular plug-in version installation!
    Hope it helps!

  • Nw04s upgrade queries regarding compatibility

    Hi,
We are currently on EP6.0 SP10 and also are using standalone ITS
    620. We are in the process of upgrading to NW04s ie EP 7.0 .Could
    someone pls clarify  the following
    1) Will (our existing) <b>ITS 620</b> be compatible with EP7 ?
    2) Will our <b>R/3 version ie 4.7</b> and <b>OS WIN 2003</b> be compatible?
    3) Are there any specific hardware requirements for EP7.0?
Help on this would be very much appreciated
    Regards
    Vineeth

    Hi,
unfortunatly, the guy that configured the its/erp at that time does not work for us anymore, I don't have much info for that.
    Min hardware EP7 :
    Suitable backup system
    Minimum disk space:
    Database Software:
    1 GB (x86, AMD64)
    2 GB (IA64)
SAP system files (not including paging file):
    5 GB (x86, AMD64)
    8 GB (IA64)
SAP database files (not including paging file):
    2 GB
4.3 GB of temporary disk space for every required installation DVD that
you have to copy to a local hard disk
    To check disk space:
    1. Choose Start® Programs® Administrative Tools ® Computer Management® Disk
    Management.
    2. Select the local drive.
    3. Choose Properties.
    Minimum RAM:
    1.5 GB
To check RAM, in the Windows Explorer choose Help® About Windows.
    Caution
During the installation with SAPinst, make sure not to enter a value larger
than the maximum Java heap size of your platform. For more information,
see the corresponding documentation of your Java Development Kit - JDK.
    Paging File Size:
1 times RAM plus 8 GB
For 64-bit systems, also see SAP Note 153641. If you want to install only a small
system, contact your hardware partner for appropriate swap space values.
    To check paging file size:
    1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
    2. Choose Advanced® Performance Settings.
    3. If required, in section Virtual Memory, choose Change.
From my experience, you can add easily 10 gb to your EP6 portal for the upgrade to EP7.
At least 2.5 gb ram, and dual processor. I once used a dual 2.4 xeon, it was ok.
JDK 1.4.2_11 for usa and jdk 1.4.2_13 for canada because of the new timezone change.

  • Test scripts for queries before and after upgrade (bi7.0)

    HI,
i need to create a documnet for testing the over all functionality of the queries and wad before upgradation and after upgradation(bi 7.0) like structure, rkf , ckf variables, etc , please guide me and send me if any sample template available on this scenario
    Thanks in advance

You can spool (or put in a database table) in your 10G database the sql statements and their performance metadata (this should be done when the system is really used). After the upgrade you can do the same select as used to spool. the statements in the 10G database and compare them (again in a really used system). A sql statement to use could be:
    select inst_id, sql_id, hash_value, executions
    ,(cpu_time/executions)/1000000 cpu_time
    ,(elapsed_time/executions)/1000000 elapsed_time
    ,(disk_reads/executions) disk_reads
    ,(buffer_gets/executions) buffer_gets
    ,(rows_processed/executions) rows_processed
    from gv$sqlarea
    where executions>0
    order by inst_id, sql_id, hash_value

  • Input ready queries not working after upgrading to 7.4

    Hello Gurus,
for my application I have put the queries in WAD. Everything was working till 7.2. After upgrading to 7.4 I recieve error for ready to input queries. Rest of the queries are fine. Even in Analyzer I dont get the option to save the Values for input queries.
I couldn't find any document on this. Do you have any Idea why is the behaviour toward Input ready query changed after upgrade?
    Thanks in adv.
    Regards,

Yeah, that's happened to me a bunch, it's a pain the the arse. Delete your shortcut and create a new one.
To do this navigate to the c:\program files\iTunes folder (assuming you've selected the default location) and find the iTunes.exe file using the right mouse button right click on it and you should get a menu with an option to create a shortcut. Once the shortcut is created you can drag it and drop it wherever you need, start menu, desktop or quick launch bar.

  • Upgraded to v10 and now media queries aren't working.

I upgraded to version 10 and the media queries are not working on a new site I'm working on . They worked fine on 9.01 and still are working fine on another machine that has 9.01. But not in 10.0.
It doesn't matter if its a <link> Media query or a @media screen. They are not working!
I tried to reinstall and I'm getting the same result.

I have test my site and queries in all the browsers and Firefox is the only one acting up. It worked in v 9. It's like they are being ignored. Here's an example of a media query.
I'm testing by resizing the browser window and also by loading a site through an iframe.
    @media screen and (max-width: 800px) {
    body { background: #ddd; }
Can someone please get this fixed. Mobile designs rely heavily on css media queries.

  • Slow Queries After Upgrade from 9i to 11g

We are in the process of upgrading several of our databases from 9i to 11g. I am doing some performance testing using SQL developer and I have found that some queries are executed much faster on 9i than 11g. For example, the following query ran in 0.258 seconds on 9i and 836.50 on 11g (both databases have the same tables, indexes, data and there were no other jobs running at the time when I tested this query).
    SELECT a.seq_short as seq_short, a.seq_long as seq_long, a.MD5 as md5,
           a.upi as upi_key, a.len as length, a.crc64 as crc64, b.DBID as dbid,
           c.DESCR as descr, c.FULL_DESCR as full_descr, b.ac as accession, b.gi as gene_id
    FROM uniparc.protein a, uniparc.xref b, uniparc.cv_database c
    WHERE a.upi = b.upi
    AND b.dbid = c.id
;If you have any ideas what may be causing the slow down, or suggestions on how I can speed up the 11g query please let me know.

    1) ESS services : employee search, personal data, LMS(Webdynpro Java) are on EHP 3 as of now. Will the applications remain the same even if we upgrade to  EHP5?

    3) E Recruitment (BSP) is on EHP 3 Will this application remain the same even if we upgrade to EHP 5?
    4) We have MSS services: ERec Manager and Appraisal. Will these services affect if we upgrade to EHP 5?
    4) We have few custom applications in Webdynpro abap and webdypro java developed on portal. Will these effect if we upgrade to EHP 5?

    Hi Eric,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Can you let me know which version of ESS/MSS and E-Recruitment business packages are applicable for the above version? And are these versions of ESS/MSS available in market now? Otherwise we can suggest our client to go for a upgrade to EHP 4.

  • Upgrade Workbooks & Queries

    Hi!
We are currently in the middle of upgrading to NW2004s from 3.5. So far, we have completed a test upgrade on the development system.
When opening workbooks, we can see that the query and workbook objects being upgraded “on the fly”, which decrease performance. To avoid this we have to resave the workbook, in order to convert all objects.
    So my questions are:
    1) Does anyone know if it.s both the workbook and the query that has to be resaved?
    2) Which “upgrade strategy” has been used when it comes to migrating workbook and queries?
To let the end-users access via the 3.5 add-ins to start with
*To resave all the queries and/or workbooks after been upgraded
To let the end-user resave when appropriate
    Or any other methods?
    Thanks in advance!
    Bjørn

    Hello,
I thought I would share our experience with workbook conversion issues so far. We are upgrading the toolset after having done the technical upgrade, implemented new analysis authorizations, and implemented support packs up to 12.
In our area we have a set of reports (workbooks)that are formatted to a very high degree, using Excel more than the BEx (3.5) settings, although we have both. Some examples are 1) in general the column widths and texts have to remain static to retain the proportions of the report and for printing, and 2) we redid BEx Exception cell formatting with Excel Conditional cell formatting since the users wanted blue as a condition (this is what we did, maybe there is a better way...), 3) graphs, print settings etc.
In order to make some of these settings in 3.5 we had to turn off the query property "adjust format after refresh".  I believe the same setting in 7.0 is "Adjust formatting" checkbox on the Analysis Grid properties.  Another setting we used extesively in 3.5 was the query setting "adjust column width on refresh - set to "do not adjust".  In 7.0 the equivalent is also on the Analysis grid properties "Auto Fit".
My thought right now is that the "Adjust formatting" is not carrying over during the upgrade process, in other words turning off "adjust format after refresh" seems to convert to having the " Adjust formatting" checkbox checked, which wipes out everything after refresh, including the standard BEx format.  I have come up with a way to manually convert them, but ultimately involves a fair amount of rework.  Many of our other users create workbooks and queries in an adhoc process, so we are communicating to them that they will need to go through this process, and there may be rework.  We are finding the 3.5 vs. 7.0 workbook creation process to be significantly different which was unexpected for us at least.
Hope that experience might be helpful, we are still working on it ourselves.

  • Variants in queries behavior during upgrade?

    hi you all ,
we just upgraded our system from 4.6c to ecc6/.
and i found out that something is not all right with the query variants.
the variants are there but it aint show the data as it was in the old system (some columns are missing).
i read notes and excuted RSAQ_REPAIR_LAYOUT_VARIANTS but no help after all these are queries....
does any one know what should i do?
    thanks....

    Hi,
    Please check FM RSAQ_GENERATE_PROGRAM.
Perhaps you may need to write custom program for each record that you want in the query table AQGQCAT. just call the above FM.
