Upgrading domain from 9.2.2 to 10.3.2

Hi All,
I want to upgrade a domain which is created in weblogic 9.2.2 to 10.3.2. This domain contains inventory application and below custom configurations like
i.Create File Store
ii.Create JMS Server
iii.Create JMS Module
iv.Create JMS Queue
v.Create Connection Factory
vi.Create Data Source
vii.Set the JTA time out setting
viii.Create Work Manager
I shutdown the 9.2.2 server and try to upgrade domain from Start---> Programs ---> BEA Products --->Tools ---> Domain Upgrade Wizard from 10.3.2. But I am getting error in Inspect Domain page.
Link to screen short of the error: http://i40.tinypic.com/1pgdqv.jpg (Didn't find any other way to share the screenshot)
I also checked with java 1.5.0_10(need for weblogic 9.2.2) and 1.6.0_18(need for weblogic 10.3.2). There are no other Managed Servers.
Location of Weblogic 9.2.2:D:\bea
Location of Weblogic 10.3.2:C:\fmw\bea
Location of Domain:D:\bea\user_projects\domains\PreSuiteDomain
Can anyone tell me if I need to remove any configurations in config.xml ? Am I doning anything wrong ? Is there any preupgrade steps for 9.2.2 to 10.3.2 domain upgrade?
I am following below links for upgrading my domain.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13179_01/common/docs100/upgrade/upgrade_dom.html
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13179_01/common/docs100/upgrade/roadmap.html#wp1068378

Update to this interesting issue, the issue has been solved by just 2 minor updates.
- Rename the */lib* folder to any other name, which MUST NOT be the same as the lib, lets call it */lic*
EAR/lib is specified by JEE 5 as the shared library folder. All jars in EAR/lib/ will be loaded by application classloader of WLS,
- Update the MANIFEST.MF files, change lib/xx.jar to lic/xx.jar

  • Upgrading domain from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2

I am looking to upgrade my domain from server 2008 R2 to 2012 R2.  We have 10 remote sites, each with a single physical ESXi host hosting 2 vms, 1 2008 R2 vm with the ADDS/DHCP/DNS/File Services (user home drives) roles and the second 2008 R2 vm
runs WDS/MDT and a couple applications.  At our main site we have a physical 2008 R2 DC which holds all the FSMO roles, a vm with the ADDS/DHCP/DNS/File Services roles, and another vm running WDS/MDT.
I've gathered from my research that Microsoft recommends clean installs when upgrading DCs but since our DCs are also file servers that's not an ideal course of action for us, it'd be a lot of additional steps.  My plan at this point
is to bring up a new physical 2012 R2 server, make it a DC, transfer the FSMO roles to it, then demote and retire the current physical 2008 R2 server.  For the virtual DCs, since they are also file servers, I'm leaning towards in-place upgrades
on them, unless anyone would advise against.
The other thing I'm considering is creating a 2012 R2 DC at each remote site, then demoting the current 2008 R2 DC, leaving some combination of DHCP/File Services on it, then run an in-place on it to 2012 R2.  This would requre another Windows license
though since our physical hosts are not on Hyper-v.
For the virtual servers running WDS/MDT, I personally prefer an in-place so I don't have to move the MDT deployment share, but I'm open to suggestions.
What are your recommendations?  Which server should I upgrade first?  How much time should I allow between each DC upgrade?  I appreciate the help.

As per recommendations, A DC should be solely utilized for AD/DNS/GC & if environment is small for DHCP. The problem in using DC for other purpose arise during upgrade scenario, when you have to demote the DC or performance. Demoting the DC is very simple,
but if its running with additional role, it becomes challenging, if demotion has to be performed forcefully.
Secondly, from the security point, its not a great idea to run DC with other roles esp file servers, if there is any infected file then the whole domain can be compromised or infected.
What is more relevant in upgrade is testing the applications before you perform or upgrade the schema. If there is no issues then you can perform the upgrade based on your convenience. But necessary documentation & testing prior & post has to be
    followed.
My personal recommendation would be upgrade the schema(surely test the schema upgrade in lab before you do in production), create a new server either VM or physical, configure it as an DC & transfer all FSMO role & slowly try to segregation between
    DC & non DC servers.
Yes, i know it will cost additional licensing burden, but from the environment point of view it will provide you an ease of administration & troubleshooting.

  • Upgrading domain controller from Server 2003 to Server 2012 R2, how will this affect Exchange 2010?

    Hi All,
Below is an AD and Server related post that I had submitted last week. While I did receive valid responses for the post, I was advised to check with the Exchange forums for the Exchange related  question in
bold. All responses are welcomed, thank you!
    ===========================================================
    Hi All,
I am hoping that someone could perhaps provide some insight on this topic as I apparently can't seem to google the best answer.
I have recently acquired an AD domain that is running on a 2003 domain controller. I have been tasked with upgrading our existing domain structure with 2012 R2 domain controllers for our main office and remote offices.
The domain name is company.mynetwork.com, and it is the default first site name. We have multiple offices throughout the US with their own domain controllers (i.e. FL.mynetwork.com, NY.mynetwork.com, DC.mynetwork.com, etc.).
Our main office, and default first site has one domain controller (mynetdc1) running Server 2003 R2. It is also our only DNS server for the main office. It also has an additional domain controller called mynetmaster3 which is running Server 2003.
Both mynetdc1 & mynetmaster3 NTDS settings show them as global catalogs under AD Sites & Services. Both servers are also in the AD Domain Controllers OU, along with all of the other satellite office domain controllers.
Additionally, our main office is running Exchange 2010 with the latest service pack. My questions are:
Can we demote and retire mynetmaster3, then replace mynetdc1 with a newly promoted 2012 R2 global catalog domain controller without harming anything in the domain tree and interrupting connectivity to the other offices (this of course goes without saying
after a 4 hour maintenance window to get the task completed has passed)?
Should we upgrade the satellite offices first after raising the functional level for mynetdc1, or should we do the opposite (upgrade main office, then satellite offices)?
MS Exchange 2010 is heavily dependent on AD, what effect will this entire project have on our email server? What steps should we take beforehand to ensure email continuity?
Finally, is there any shame for a Net Admin to suggest that we hire an implementation specialist for this task? :)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As long as the operating system on your Exchange servers isn't upgraded, and as long as you do the Active Directory domain and forest updates in the supported manner (the following link is a good example -
http://blogs.msmvps.com/mweber/2012/07/30/upgrading-an-active-directory-domain-from-windows-server-2003-or-windows-server-2003-r2-to-windows-server-2012/), Exchange will happily operate behind the scenes.  Exchange 2010 is supported in the Windows
forests (domain controllers, domain functional level and forest functional level) mentioned in the following TechNet article, which includes both Windows 2003 and Windows 2012.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff728623(v=exchg.150).aspx
Due to this, you should be good as long as you do the domain controller, domain, and forest upgrades carefully.  Oh, and before you start each step, get a nice backup.

  • Upgrading Endeca Server data domains from 3.0 to 3.1

Please explain the instructions mentioned below (link for reference where it is mentioned):
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40518_01/studio.310/studio_migration/toc.htm#Application%20data%20structure%20now%20uses%20data%20sets
When you upgrade Endeca Server data domains that were ingested using Integrator ETL, you will need to ingest the records into a single data set (referred to as a collection in Endeca Server and Integrator ETL) that has its key set to "Base". The display name can then be something to represent the actual content of the records.
Setting the data set key to "Base" allows any existing components that were tied to the Base view in 3.0 to be able to display the correct data.
What "key" we are referring here, is it collection key or view key. Also, which Integrator ETL version we are referring, is it 3.0.
I tried exporting the data domain from Endeca 3.0 and importing into Endeca 3.1 with default settings, it did not work.
    Thanks in advance!

    Correct.
Now, keep in mind that while this will get your data up to 3.1, it is very likely (assuming you have a production app) that you'll want to consider data model changes or other enhancements to take advantage of the new functionality.
Also, there are no more child data sources, so if your application used them, you'll want to consider separate datasets, not just a base dataset.

  • Upgrading Mail from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 Server - Help Needed, Please

    Hi
I posted a message a few weeks back with regard to this topic, but have had no replies. I don't seem to be any further on in solving this on my own, so I'm posting again in the hope that someone will be able to assist.
I have an Xserve G4 running 10.3.9 which is a Open Directory Master, PDC and also acts as a Mail Server for our domain. The system software is installed on one 60gb drive in the Xserve and the Mail Store is on a second drive. All the Windows clients can log into the domain and their mail is on IMAP using Outlook as their client.
I am now installing a second server in another office, and obviously this will be a new XServe running 10.4. I would like to make this an Open Directory Replica but now need to upgrade the first server to 10.4 before I can do this.
Each attempt has been at the start of a weekend when staff have gone home, so that I can shutdown Mail and clone the Mail Store before proceeding.
My first attempt was to install a new 10.4 installation onto a drive module and then attempt to upgrade the Mail. I removed the original 10.3.9 startup drive and I cloned the mail store drive before attempting and then followed the instructions given in this article:-
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301656
When running the first part of this script, I get a socket error and don't seem to be able to get beyond this point.
Next, I atttempted a straightforward upgrade. To do this, I again cloned the Mail Store onto another Drive Module, and so that I could roll back in case of problems, I also cloned the startup drive. Once this was done, I then removed the original drives for safety, booted and proceeded to upgrade the Server software from 10.3.9 to 10.4 performing all updates along the way.
When I first booted, I had quite a lot of errors, DNS zones hadn't come over, and I had to kerberize the system, but after doing this and several restarts to cure other problems, all seemed to be OK, but then when I invoked Windows services and tried to log into the domain from a PC client, it failed saying the Domain Controller wasn't available, and the server log shows "Broken Pipe" errors and I cannot seem to resolve these issues. Server admin, also now loses connection with various services at intermittant times and I have to reboot.
So, my conclusion is that the 10.3.9 installation on this server is way too flaky to be upgraded and I must find another way.
Ideally, what I would like to do, is install a brand new 10.4 system onto the server, setting up DNS, Open Directory etc etc ensuring that my clients can log into the domain (copying their profile to the new account if necessary) and then upgrade the Mail once it is all stable. Can anyone help me with this by giving me a step by step guide? I am willing to pay for someone who knows how to do this if they can help me with a guide or perhaps even provide remote assistance.
    Thanks in advance
    Paul
    PowerBook G4 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   G4 Xserve 1GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 10.3.9 Server

They've never heard of a G4? That's shocking, perhaps you shouldn't go there anymore :P.
OS X 10.5 requires at least an 867 MHz G4, unfortunately. You can upgrade to OS X Tiger (10.4) though (Just run software update after installation to get to 10.4.11).
You can find Tiger cheap on eBay or the likes, note you must buy the full retail version which looks like this:

    Hi Kalyan,
Thanks for the reply, i tried to clean up cache and tmp directory on all the Managed server and bounce the middleware along with nodemanager but i still have the same error.
Could you let me know what all steps are required for upgrading 10.3.5 to 10.3.6?

  • Upgrading AD from 2003 to 2012 R2

Hi All, I am hoping that someone could perhaps provide some insight on this topic as I apparently can't seem to google the best answer.
Can we demote and retire mynetmaster3, then replace mynetdc1 with a newly promoted 2012 R2 global catalog domain controller without harming anything in the domain tree and interrupting connectivity to the other offices (this of course goes without
saying after a 4 hour maintenance window to get the task completed has passed)?
Should we upgrade the satellite offices first after raising the functional level for mynetdc1, or should we do the opposite (upgrade main office, then satellite offices)?
Exchange 2010 is heavily dependent on AD, what effect will this entire project have on our email server? What steps should we take beforehand to ensure email continuity?
Finally, is there any shame for a Net Admin to suggest that we hire an implementation specialist for this task? :)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,
for upgrading to Windows Server 2012 R2 directly see
    http://blogs.msmvps.com/mweber/2012/07/30/upgrading-an-active-directory-domain-from-windows-server-2003-or-windows-server-2003-r2-to-windows-server-2012/
There are known issues with Windows Server 2003 DCs and Windows Server 2012 R2 so please see
http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2014/07/23/it-turns-out-that-weird-things-can-happen-when-you-mix-windows-server-2003-and-windows-server-2012-r2-domain-controllers.aspx#pi145002=5 to be up to date with required patches.
I would also recommend that you first install new DCs into the existing domain and assure they work complete correct with the support tools, dcdiag, repadmin, ADREPLSTATUS and dnslint. All of them MUST be error free BEFORE you install new OS DCs and
also after every new DC is added to the domain. Do NOT start or go on if errors are listed!
I would always start on the main office machines and then go on with branch offices.
For Exchange it should work as AD is already prepared for it BUT you should also ask the experts in
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/home?forum=exchange2010
And for your last question, there is of course NO SHAME to tell your boss that an expert is required as this steps with all detailed requirement may crash the complete forest and at least this should be also a reason for your boss to think about. If you
don't talk about this and it fails is much more worse then saying that you have concerns because this is the first time you have to manage this.
    Best regards

  • How to upgrade Domain - 2003 to 2012 R2 - task sequence

Could someone please sanity check this task sequence?  I need to upgrade a 2003 domain to 2012 R2 and would appreciate a second set of eyes.  thx.
    Goal:
    1. standup two new 2012 R2 DCs
    2. decomm three old DCs
    3. raise DFL/FFL to 2012 R2
    Current DFL/FFL = 2003 (one site, one domain, 3 DCs, 400 users)
3 Existing DCs (all to be decommed):
      OldDC1 = Svr2003 Std Ed SP2 x64 (holds all FSMO roles, GC=yes)
      OldDC2 = Svr2003 Ent Ed SP1 x86 (holds no FSMO roles, GC=yes)
      OldDC3 = Svr2003 Std Ed SP2 x64 (holds no FSMO roles, GC=no)
    New DCs to be added:
      NewDC1 Svr2012 R2
      NewDC2 Svr2012 R2
    Proposed task Sequence:
    * build and patch OS, then add ADDS role to NewDC1 and NewDC2 (do not yet add servers to existing domain)
    * in the network config of new DCs, set the DNS server IP to the IP of OldDC1
    * when installing ADDS, I will be prompted to run Adprep.exe - it will be run as part of installing ADDS - this will update existing domain schema as needed.
    * add NewDC1 and NewDC2 to existing domain
    * in the network config of the new DCs, set the DNS server IP to that of the local server
    * make both GCs, make both DNS servers
    * distribute FSMO roles thusly:
    * DC1 = PDCE, RID (more frequently used roles)
    * DC2 = SM, DNM, IM (rarely used roles)
    * run dcdiag.exe commands to verify functionality
    * power off OldDCs one at a time, waiting 24 hours between each shut down
    * raise DFL/FFL to 2012 R2 after all old DCs are decommed

    revised and updated
    Goal
    1. standup two new 2012 R2 DCs
    2. decomm three old DCs
    3. raise DFL/FFL to 2012 R2
    Current DFL/FFL = 2003 (one site, one domain, 3 DCs, 400 users)

      OldDC3 = Svr2003 Std Ed SP2 x64 (holds no FSMO roles, GC=no)
    New DCs to be added:
      NewDC1 Svr2012 R2
      NewDC2 Svr2012 R2

    2. build and patch OS on NewDCs; in the network config of new DCs, set the DNS server IP to the IP of OldDC1
    3. add AD DS role to NewDC1 and NewDC2 (do not yet add servers to existing domain)
    * NOTE: when installing AD DS, you will be prompted to run Adprep.exe.  It will be run as part of installing AD DS.  This will update existing domain schema as needed
    4. add NewDC1 and NewDC2 to existing domain, promote to domain controllers, add to existing domain at 2003 DFL/FFL.
    5. make both DCs GCs, transfer/distribute FSMO roles
    * DC1 = PDCE, RID (more frequently used roles)
    * DC2 = SM, DNM, IM (rarely used roles)

    6. verify time service on OldDCs are syncing with current DC1 (PDCE)
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/archive/2010/06/27/time-configuration-in-a-windows-domain.aspx
    7. run dcdiag.exe commands to verify functionality, address any issues
    8. Make new DCs DNS servers
    * in the network config of the new DCs, set the DNS server IP to that of the local server
    9. retest with dcdiag
    10. decomm OldDCs
    * reconfigure clients/servers so they no longer point to the OldDCs/DNS
    * disconnect network cable from old DCs and test with various clients, reboot clients, retest
    * remove GC from old DCs, (also remove DNS role?), then run dcpromo to demote them
    * verify that OldDC machine accounts have automatically moved from the DCs OU to Computers container
    * check DNS management console in NewDCs, verify all entries from the old DCs are no longer present, delete manually if nec'y
    * check AD sites and services and delete the old DCs if nec'y
    11. raise DFL/FFL to 2012 R2 after all old DCs are decommed

  • Upgraded Domain, DHCP Issues

    Hey
I have recently upgraded our domain controllers to Windows Server 2012 R2, which was, seemingly, a success. Running dcdiag and forcing a replication between the two domain controllers proceeded with no errors reported, DHCP and DNS is functioning correctly
This was monitored over the weekend, and all services (AD, DHCP, DNS) and no events were recorded to point towards faults. However, this morning, the DHCP Server Role did not exist on the two domain controllers, and Active Directory had many, many issues,
    which have now been fixed
I have looked in the Microsoft-Windows-DHCP-Server-Service event logs and cannot find events that point either to the scope being removed or the role removed from the server, and the security audit log does not yield any results. In this circumstance, what
should I be looking for to find out the cause of the fault?
    -- Matt

    Hi Matt,
According to your description, do you mean that after you upgraded Domain Controllers, DHCP service was running correctly, but after a couple of days, DHCP role was removed?
Sounds like someone removed it manually to me.
Have you enabled DHCP audit logging? If you have, you can view the logs under
    %windir%\System32\Dhcp.

  • Standard Upgrade Path from VMWare Server?

I've been using VMWare Server for years to test my software. Specifically I have 2 "beige box" PCs running CentOS running VMWare Server running various versions of Windows Server as domain controllers and file servers as well as numerous workstations. I have a complete mini multi-domain Windows network. When I run the tests for my software it really pushes the 2-3 vms involved with a lot of network communication and some disk activity.
With care and some brute force this has worked well. At least I don't need a stack of PCs. And it's free so it's hard to complain. But unfortunately it's not terribly reliable. The web interface stops working - sometimes only after a day. Clocks drift causing authentication issues. Generally bad things happen if I try to run more than 2 images on the same server. I've gotten to be pretty good at combating these problems but I'm hoping to find something a little more reliable.
So now I'm willing to actually pay for something (gah!) and I would like to upgrade. But VMWare has so many products I just have no idea what I should be looking for.
What is the standard upgrade path from VMWare Server?
    Mike

Ok. Two people say use ESXi so I guess I'll just try to burn an ESXi DVD and see what it's like. But ...
Is performance really good enough to compile large projects and do backups over and so on?
VMware Server has worked well enough for me over the years but performance was not like real hardware. But the real problem was reliability. If I ran more than 2 VMs at a time, eventually they would just get their tentacles in a tangle and I would have to kill them and delete lock files and bah! I'm going to assume by your endorsement that ESXi doesn't have any of these problems.
Also, the machine I'm using is a lowly DELL i660 i3-3240 with 8GB of memory. I paid $429 USD for it at a local consumer electronics store! This is no server. Will it even work?

  • Migrating/Upgrading NWDI from 7.0 to CE 7.1

    Hi,
Currently we have application developed on NW 7.0 (Web Dynpro, J2EE, EJB etc) and we have NWDI 7.0 for code repository.
Now we are planning to migrate the NW 7.0 (Web Dynpro, J2EE, EJB etc) to CE 7.1 (we have documents & procedure to do this).
    My question is:
    1. Does repository NWDI 7.0 supports for all kind of DC/applications if we migrate NW 7.0 (Web Dynpro, J2EE, EJB etc) to CE 7.1, If not what are the chanllenges?
    2. Is it required to upgrade repository from NWDI 7.0 to NWDI CE 7.1? If so how we can achieve/migrate the code to NWDI 7.1
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Patana

    Hi Patana,
Let me give you some background first...
*1) Yes, NWDI 7.0 will support all the developments that you will be migrating to CE 7.1
    2) There is no 7.1 version of NWDI, that means you ned not worry about NWDI version as, it is just a platform that acts as repository for your source code and version control.*
So you don't need to upgrade your NWDI.
But wait it doesn't mean that you don't have to upgrade anything from NWDI side .
As your Application Server will now be running on 7.1 version, you will have to get a compatible CE 7.1 version of developer studio too.
Also the Tracks that are present in your NWDI 7.0 version will be required to be upgraded with the latest build time dependent SCA files of the 7.1 version too.
This is a step-by-step guide for setting up NWDI for Composition Environment.
Link:[HOW TO SETUP AN NWDI TRACK FOR COMPOSITION ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT (SAP NETWEAVER CE 7.1)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7014086d-3fd9-2910-80bd-be3417810c6f?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
To update all the tracks with the latest .SCA files, follow the below mentioned steps...
    1) you need to copy all the standard .SCA files of 7.1 version from the path /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/EPS/buildarchives/ as mentioned in step 10 of the above manual to the CMS transport directory (<specified in the domain tab>CMSinbox) directory in order to make these dependencies available for your tracks.
    2) Then, in SLD you have to modify all your software components that are used in track and replace all their build time dependencies to the 7.1 version.
    3) Update the CMS,
    4) Remove and add the tracks SCs back for your track.
    5) Save the track, while saving always choose Save & Re-import button.
    6) Check-In the latest 7.1 version SCA into Development and Consolidation tab.
You have repeat this for all the tracks.
Please revert in case of any further clarification.
You can also refer to the thread Re: source code of a track nwdi, for understanding how NWDI works under the hood.

  • Upgrade WLS from 10.3 to 10.3.1

    Hi,
It's my first time to upgrade an WLS server installation.
When I upgrade WLS from 10.3 to 10.3.1 where I should install the WLS binaries?
(same directory than WLS 10.3 or a new one).
Maybe I missed something in the doc's but in the WLS 10.3.1 upgrade guide I could only find how to upgrade e.g. security provider, domains, .... AFTER installing the binaries.
    regards
    Peter

    Hello Peter,
    I had the same problem.
According to the install documentation for Forms/Reports you can only extend a domain which was created by the Portal, Form, Reports, Discoverer installer.
These domain type is called Classic.
So if you have already a domain which is still empty, remove it and create a ClassicDomain with the Forms/Reports installer.
If your existing domain is not empty you have to create a second domain of type Classic
    Kind regards
    Juergen

  • Upgraded AD from WinSrv2003 to WinSrv2012r2

    Hi Team,
I upgraded domain controller from WinSrv2003 to WinSrv2012r2 and faced a lots of account lockout after upgrade.
Now the issue calmed down, though still some users are frequently locked, and we need to analyze the route cause and I'd like to ask follows to keep continuing to upgrade rest of the 2003 servers.
In our domain we have some separated sites and we did upgrade on the weekend for one of the location, with KB2989971 installed then the day after we did for another location, which is different country, WITHOUT KB2989971. Will the server,
which was not patched KB2989971, affect to the other locations, even the sites are separated?
Furthermore, another sites, which is different frm above stated location, had their domain controllers as very busy state (CPU usage was almost 100%), such as like we couldn't do health check for the servers. Under this condition, would account of
the users who connected to these servers be locked out?
Without KB2989971, what will happen? Will account be locked out frequently?
Our environment has WinServer2003, 2003r2, 2008, and upgrading to 2012r2.
    Regards,
    Hiroki

You'll need to apply the hotfix to all 2012R2 machines in a mixed 2003 DC environment.
Also, when you update the DFL, be aware of this potential issue:

Many times my computer takes too long to connect to new website. I have wireless internet (time capsule) and I am running a pretty powerful real time financial work program at same time, what is the best solution? Upgrading speed from cable network? is it a hard drive issue? do I only need to "clean out" the computer? Or all of the above...not to computer saavy.  It is a Macbook Pro  osx 10.6.8 (late 2010).

Almost certainly none of the above!  Try each of the following in this order:
Select 'Reset Safari' from the Safari menu.
Close down Safari;  move <home>/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db to the trash; restart Safari.
Change the DNS servers in your network settings to use the OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Turn off DNS pre-fetching by entering the following command in Terminal and restarting Safari:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false
