Upgrading Robo 5.0 files to 7.0

Hi,
I need to upgrade the Robo files created in Robo 5.0 to 7.0.
Can anyone please let me know what are the issues that would
encounter while upgrading?
As of now, I have not faced any problems with styles, links
and others when I have upgraded. But will there be any problems
while integrating with the product.

You could do a lot worse than visit Peter Grainge's

Other than that, you'll have to come back the detail of more
specific issues and the output type you are generating.

I select the images I want uploaded, NEF files, click the "IMPORT" button, process bar comes up and shows work in progress, but no progress. after about 2 minutes, dialogue box appears with message: "unable to import because the following files are unreadable: NEFxxxx, etc."

Upgrade direct from 9i File System DB to 10g ASM instance

Can I upgrade from a 9i file system based instance directly to a 10g ASM based instance? without the middle step of a 10g file system instance.

The minimum compatibility for ASM storage system is 10.1.0, it is not possible to manage 9i instances in ASM, and there is no way to waive the 10g migration requirement.
If you are planning to use 10g ASM storage then you will have to migrate or upgrade your database to 10g first. Next you will have to move your datafiles, control and log files into the ASM storage.
0. Configure your +ASM instance
1. Upgrade to 10g (Upgrade procedure) or Migrate (exp from 9i/imp to 10g)
2. In case you upgraded then use RMAN as stated in the below given reference to move your datafiles to the ASM instance, or if you created the database in 10g make sure you defined +ASM as the default storage mechanism

Can't upgrade because of confilicting files

I haven't upgraded one of my machines for quite some time, probably a year or more.
I tried upgrading and got a file conflict problem. Here are the commands and output -

Try 'pacman -Syu sysvinit'. Not sure why pacman doesn't list sysvinit as a package that needs to be updated. sysvinit 2.88-3 is in the repos since September and you're still using the previous version.

No manner of installing an OS will erase any files.
However, you have two options with an new OS installation.
1) A simple install "upgrades" your system, by replacing any part of the OS that is new and leaves many older files (especially any 3rd party extensions and add-ons) installed where they were originally placed. Some applications that are unable to run may be placed into a special folder. The risk here is that the older stuff may keep the new OS from performing properly or as efficiently as designed. It would be up to you to find those things and update or weed out what seems to be hurting performance.
2) A clean install will wholly replace your old OS installation and everything will be completely and safely working the way Apple designed the OS to operate. The old OS will be stored away into another folder called something like "Previous Operating System." The downside here is that you will probably lose many of your previous settings you liked (like your desktop pictures, etc., anything you customized over the use of your iMac) and you will have to reset those things. And you will have to reinstall every non-Apple application, printer and/or scanner drivers, etc. that you desire to use with your iMac. One advantage may be that you can see if the new OS performs for you well, and then as you install new non-Apple stuff, if anything starts to go wonky, you will have a good clue what might be the culprit.

Is the G3 not recognized by the PC? Or is it recognized and you don't see the ext SD card? Are you able to use the Wireless Storage feature to transfer? Do you have updated USB drivers from the LG support site?

Robo 8 Topic files not displaying in project manager

I am working on a project upgrade and have made new topics in Robo 8 project. When I view the topic files for a particular folder in the Project Manager view only 1/2 of my topics are displayed.. When I look in the folder (behind the scenes), all my topics are there, just not displayed in the Project Manager. What do I need to do? Thanks!.

I have a project that I tested with RH 8.0.2.208 using the following steps/results.
October 5, 2009 – last date the project was modified – based on the modified date of *.htm files and *.xpj file.
Copied the project.
Opened the copy using *.xpj.
Broken links exist.
Opened a 10-5-2009 copy of the actual HTML help file. Checked one broken link topic. The topic exists in the output and looks correct.
Copied the project again.
Deleted *.cpd.
Open the new copy using *.xpj.
Broken links exist.
Generated (HTML) primary output.
Checked one broken link topic (same as above). Topic content exists, but the screen captures in the topic do not. A red x appears in place of the screen captures.
I do not know how to uninstall only the patch. I looked at Add or Remove programs, and I do not see a stand alone entry for the patch.
To uninstall the patch, do I have to completely uninstall RH 8.0.2 and reinstall the older version fresh? That seems like a major bother. An uninstall and fresh install of the earlier version will likely eliminate some styles and other settings that I have saved.
Is there a way to uninstall just the patch?
As an alternative to uninstalling 8.0.2, I opened a fresh copy of the project (last modified 10-5-2009) on a machine with RH 8.0.203 installed, i.e., a machine without the patches installed.
There were no problem with the project, i.e., no broken links.

Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

11.1.2 essbase upgrade not recognizing application files location

I am upgrading an essbase database (Planning) from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2,
I trying to configure 2 essbase servers (original 11.1.1.3 and new 11.1.2) running on 1 physical server using different ports and filesystems
Following all the steps in the Deployment guide in Preparing Essbase Data for Upgrading,
I ran all the steps in the Manual file transfer instructions to copy from source machine to target machine.
I have started the steps in rehosting the essbase applications,
- Completed enable lookup by cluster name:
- I completed the server to cluster script on the HSS box (updateEssbaseServer )
when i went to run EssbaseUpdateEssbaseServer one of the planning databases did not update i got this error

I followed these instructions and specified a different directory when running the staging tool, the script was empty, i do not believe it should be, it should contain mapping info to update essbase.sec, which it did not

I have an issue with your software on my PC and iPad, iPod, and shuffle! Everytime I download and update or try to reinstall files after having my computer "scrubbed" they either won't open, can't be found or work poorly. WHY???? I have been through alot of this over the last 3 years, and I am tired of files safely and securely transferred becoming corrupted or unusable or just plain deleted. Please come back with and answer. Some strange glitch has erased every single unlocked & unprotected file on my C: drive. It wasn't a virus because I checked autorun records and running processes using the respective Sysinternals utilities and didn't find anything suspicious.

What I need is a way to perform either an in-place upgrade without booting into Windows, or a way to fix the SXS Component Store, or rebuild the Safe Mode so that I could initiate upgrade install from there. A clean install isn't an option because I don't
have the luxury of time to run through the reboot cycles when re-installing and updating other software (I'm using Windows 8 CP for now as my work tools are mostly in the cloud).
It is not possible to do a repair install of a system unless you can boot to the system.
Have you checked the hard drive for problems? - download the manufacturer's test utility, create the disk, and run the extended checks.

Windows server 2008 upgrade hangs at gathering files 0%

Hii,
While upgrading my Virtual Machine from Windows Server 2003 STD 32 Bit to Windows Server 2008 STD 32 Bit...it gets stuck at Gathering files 0%..
I have tried my changing the ISO file and also copied the setup files to one of my local drive then to having the same issue...
I have up graded almost 40 to 45 server but still didnt face such problem please suggest me any solution and i have also tried my googling the same but no luck...
And for info its an VM server in ESXI 5.5

Might help:
Open Windows Explorer on the system you are trying to upgrade AFTER a failed attempt
There will be three new folders:
$UPGRADE.~OS
$WINDOWS.~BT
$WINDOWS.~LS
Go into the Security Properties and give "Everyone" Full Rights (on each folder)

Vista Upgrade - No Longer Synchs Files iTunes to iPod Nano

What a nightmare - iTunes/iPod worked beautifully with XP - but when I upgraded to Vista it stopped synchronising all my files onto my iPod. Some files says "I am not authorised to use on this computer". Tried to re-authorise but iTunes (despite recognising my my iTunes account to re-set password) then said I had to set up a new account. As well as not synching stuff I have purchased on iTunes it also is not synching audio MP4 files I have bought from Audiable Books despite before Vista upgrade always seemlessly synched with iPod. This is totally ruining my experience with iPod - so before I throw it out of my window please help me get my iTunes and iPod synching properly so I can play the music I have purchased and books. HELP HELP yours very frustrated!!!!

Please be patient, sync issues are time consuming, if you are lucky, just a Hard Rest and Restore will solved it.

So you can see all your 10,000 songs, in the new PC iTunes, and do you have any problem syncing the iPod using iTunes 10.5.3.3 on the old computer?
Can you do a Hard Reset as below
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

ITunes 8.0.1 upgrade can't locate files...AGAIN!!

Undoubtedly I must be a complete moron. This is a common problem and I have read it before, but I can't find the answer. I have been searching for the last hour. It's so common that no one responds.
Here's my issue...I just accepted the automatic upgrade to 8.0.1 and it can't located my original files...I know I know that this is common but I'm losing my mind on this. Even though a get info shows that it is pointing right to the file on my external hard drive (like it has for the last year), it still wants me to locate it manually (Yo Apple...put in a way to do this on multiple files). I tried replacing the library with a previous library to no avail. I don't want to rebuild mine, my kids, and my wife's playlists. It would take hours even days.
Is there a standard thread to point help me with this?

Sorry - got sidetracked by the arrival of the insurance adjuster. Ike damage may get fixed before the first snow! I left out the last possible options besides a total rebuild and loss of metadata. Depending on how many files aren't being found, it might be worth exporting the database as an XML file and editing the LOCATION field of the missing files. If it is a few albums that are affected, a copy and replace using a text editor can fix the problem.
The second option is probably only worth trying if you are using TimeMachine or have a bootable backup with the old iTunes 7 still installed. Otherwise you'd have to revert to iTunes 7 which may not be easy manually. Sometimes reverting to an older version of iTunes is quite unpleasant. Anyway, revert to iTunes 7 and export your entire library and each playlist as an XML file. Return to iTunes 8.01 and start it with no library in the iTunes folder so it starts up blank. Now import the music library and see if your 'missing' music is found. If so, go ahead and import your playlists too.
The more interesting question is why the fouled import? I'd feedback Apple (apple.com/feedback) with an offer to send your library for troubleshooting. Since it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem either your library file picked up something bad along the way or you are using some character or combination of characters in a volume, directory or filename that is causing the trouble.

11.2.0.3 db upgrade - adbldxml.pl xml file has "allprod" as NULL

We are doing a new implementation of Oracle EBS . So installed 12.1.1 with 11g R1 through rapid wiz and then did the 12.1.3 apps upgrade followed by the final database 11.2.0.3 upgrade. It is non-RAC database. So straightforward.
Notes followed for 11.2.0.3 database upgrade
a) Oracle 11g upgrade - 1058763.1
b) Autoconfig on db tier - 387859.1 for the appsutil directory on the new 11.2.0.3 oracle home after the upgrade
When i ran the adbldxml.pl after the 11.2.0.3 upgrade to generate the new context file, suprisingly it sets "allprod" and "allshareprod" and "allterr" tags as NULL also "dbtype" is showing as VISION. The original xml file (11g R1 home) prior to the 11.2.0.3 upgrade is filled with the RIGHT values for the "allprod" and "allshareprod" and "allterr" tags. Also the "dbtype" is PROD.
I have started the apps after the 11.2.0.3 upgrade and The Oracle Applications Manager => License Manager is still showing all our products and country specific functionalities that i have chosen initially INTACT. (Financials, Service contracts etc.)
But the concern is if i run the adautocfg.sh on the database tier with the new xml file (that contains "allprod" and "allshareprod" and "allterr" tags as NULL), will it update the database tables somewhere and disable all the products in License Manager ?

Once again - upgrading iTunes - reports library file damaged, all missing

So, I've finally figured it out. When ever I upgrade iTunes, the new version doesn't like the old library file and marks it as damaged.
All content is lost - as far as itunes is concerned. But it's right there on the hard drive. In the itunes folder.
Making a new library file and point the preferences to the content still results in nothing showing up.
No, I have not sync'd since this happened. I have many files in the itunes folders on my HD where the content is not loaded on my itv4.
Is there a magic key combo to have it 'look' at the actual HD contents in the itunes folded and 'find' it ?
No, holding down SHIFT when launching itunes and then creating a new file is not the solution, nor selecting the old library file (says it's damaged).

For general library squiffiness following an upgrade the easiest thing is to restore your last backup, but I guess if it were that simple you wouldn't be here.
*Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash*
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename *iTunes Library.itl* as *iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl* and then rename the restored file as *iTunes Library*. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch (Windows) or Music Folder Files Not Added (Mac) and Super Remove Dead Tracks (Mac) for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working *make a backup!*
