Upload Document Refreshes page

Greetings,
I have a content editor webpart in an SP2013 page for document upload. See Source Below
<div abp="692">
<a href="/sites/TransactionDatabase/_layouts/15/Upload.aspx?List={E539E41C-B816-4E50-B16B-705E840649A3}"><button abp="693"><nobr abp="694"><img alt="Upload a Document" src="/_layouts/15/images/uploaddoc.png?rev=23" abp="695" style="vertical-align: middle;"/>&#160;<span abp="696">Upload a Document</span></nobr> </button></a> </div>
<style type="text/css" abp="697">
.ms-status-blue{
display:none !important;
</style>
The issue i am faced with is when I click on this button, it seems to refresh the page instead of bringing up the upload options. When i open in new tab the upload document box displays on a blank page meaning their is an onclick issue
Any ideas?
Thanks Darren

check if you have a runat=server property in the button.

  • Can you save a document in Pages and then upload it to a website?

    In other words, can I create a word document in Pages on the iPad and save it somewhere (?) and then go to a site and use its upload feature, ie Browse for a document, and then send it to the site.
    (Right now, the "Choose File" button on the site I want to use is grayed out on my iPod Touch)

    I have the same need as vudean. I don't understand the security issue. If I type a document using Pages or whatever, why can't I upload the document to a web site? I think Apple should make the standard web "file upload control" available to iPad users.
    I understand that there should be some limitations, but it should be possible to upload standard user files. I can upload them to Dropbox, so I don't se the big difference.
    Does Apple read this? If not, where can I propose this feature to them?

    Pages can work with Word documents. It can save the results as either PFd or Word documents.

    I've created a document in Pages which I want to use as an upload in a email marketing campaign I'm running through Mailchimp.  Mailchimp doesn't seem to like the Pages document and won't upload.  Any ideas?!

  • How to upload a document from Pages to a website in Google chrome?

    I wish to upload a document from Pages to a website in Google chrome via the "choose File" button on the site. The problem is I online get the options of my Photo library. Is this even possible and if so can anyone help me?

    The only browser I know of that will accomodate document uploading is iCab Mobile (could be others in the app store I am unaware of). iCab contains its own document repositor (Downloads).

  • Creating a new "Link to a Document" opens Word document or upload document dialog - plus more!

    The Link to Document content type seems to be corrupted at root. When I attempt to create a new Link, either Word opens with a blank document or the "Upload" document dialog opens. It's been changing as I investigate.
    One things I've noticed is that the "Link to a Document" Content Type on the parent site collection now shows it's parent as Document. this explains why the Word document opens, but not why the Upload dialog does.
    While writing this question, I decided to check further and it seems that the other document types, Audio, Video etc.  all now have Document as the parent and are opening a blank Word document.
    Has anyone seen this behavior? How do I fix this?
    This is on SharePoint 2010.
    Thanks in advance.

    Well, I spoke too soon. The process worked for all the custom content types, but the default Document type was still messed up. I probably should have fixed that one first, but...
    Anyhow, the Document type had no template going to the Upload File dialog rather than the blank Word document it's supposed to go to. I followed the same procedure I'd followed for the other content types, checking what worked on another site and using that
    template which in this case was a blank field:
    So, I went opened Document, Document Content Type and went to advanced settings. The template field was empty, which matched the working site, so thinking that if I saved, it would match up with the working site. I saved the Document content type and when
    after several minutes the save failed with an incredibly long list of locations where that were being perceived as "read only" plus several hidden content types that were listed as sealed. This snapshot shows a few of they many pages of content types. (I poorly
    struck through confidential info):
    Besides this gigantic error, which would require going to hundreds of locations on the site to change read access settings, which are, as far as I can tell actually not "read only" or are inaccessible, such as the hidden "System Page Layout' and so forth
    which shouldn't be based upon the default document type anyway and therefor not fixable, I need to understand why this is happening and what to do about it. I don't want to spend the next two days going over all of these libaries and content types and ending
    up back where I started with all the content types still screwed up. Afterall, I've spent about a day creating all these custom Content Types only to have the default Document content type loose its settings and corrupting everything and another day fixing
    it and having it happen again.
    This is a highly unacceptable behavior on the part of SharePoint and I would really like to fix this.
    Help is sorely needed.
    Thanks in advance

  • Error while uploading documents

    Hi,
    When we trying to upload documents thru CV01N transaction w.r.t document type,we are getting the error message as
    "Please enter the data in Object link tab" Message  No : ZHR252.
    When we checked the configuration in DC10, No any objects have been linked to this particular Document Type.
    My question is, eventhough no any objects have been configured to document type, why the error message is getting appeared while saving the DIR.
    Would like to know is there any User Exit which is getting triggered in the backend?
    Regards
    Bhanu

    Hi,
    When we trying to upload documents thru CV01N transaction w.r.t document type,we are getting the error message as
    "Please enter the data in Object link tab" Message No : ZHR252.
    From the error message its very clear that some custom code has been written to control upload operations in CV01n.
    Message no starts with "Z".
    You can have a look into the following BADI's to check for the custom code.
    DOCUMENT_OBJ1 User Exit Document Link Object Page
    DOCUMENT_OBJ Interface Connection From Object Links Document Page
    DOCUMENT_OBJ2 BADI for object links update
    Additionally check the following customer exists relevant for CV01N.
    CV000001
    CV110001
    CVDS0001
    Hope this answers your query.

  • Runtime error while logging in/uploading documents

    We have a FD services activated intranet SharePoint 2010 site and our external users have been facing problems logging in to the site from their end. They face a runtime error when they want to login:
    Runtime Error
    Description:
    An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely
    (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
    Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable
    on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set
    to "Off".
    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
    <configuration>
        <system.web>
            <customErrors mode="Off"/>
        </system.web>
    </configuration>
    Notes:
    The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
    <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
    <configuration>
        <system.web>
            <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
        </system.web>
    </configuration>
    We as internal users don't face this issue. What could be a possible reason?

    Just an update:
    External users are able to log in but get intermittent runtime error messages while trying to upload documents. All users from the same external network are facing this issue.

  • Uploading Documents to Another Database Through APEX

    Hi,
    I am trying to find a solution for uploading documents through APEX, but storing them in a database on a different server other than the server where apex is installed.
    I am unable to use DBLINK, because we are needing to pass a BLOB column. We have also looked into the DAD, but it only allows for one database connection for the APEX instance. I am pondering with creating a database connection to the other database when needing to upload a document, but not certain if that is the most efficient way.
    I am wanting to know if there is a way to upload documents (BLOBS) through APEX that is installed on DATABASE A, but store the documents in DATABASE B?
    Thanks,
    Keisha

    Ok...up front warning...this is a bit klugey but, it does work.
    In the APEX database:
    Create the table (with the BLOB column) to which you will upload the documentsWe're going to get them to the remote DB but, for reasons that will become apparent shortly, they need to go here first.
    In the Remote database:
    Create a DB Link to the APEX database.
    Create a Materialized View that selects from table with the the BLOB column in the APEX database
    In the APEX database:
    Create a local synonym that points to the DBMS_REFRESH package in the Remote database.For this example, we'll name the synonym REMOTE_DBMS_REFRESH
    Create a PL/SQL procedure that does the following:
    Upload the document to the APEX database
    Fire the REFRESH method for the MV that you created using REMOTE_DBMS_REFRESH
    Remote the data from the APEX database
    For whatever reason, the restriction to copy LOB data over the link is by passed when using a Materialized View.

  • Uploaded document via windows application does not show in document library, but as checked out Document

    Hi,
    A windows application uploads document to a document library programatically. Although they get added to the document library but are not shown there. Only when I go to the "Managed file that have no checked in verison" I see all the documents.
    This happens even though I have set "No Versioning" in the library settings. This is probably happening because I have added a few custom columns to the library.
    How can I avoid this situation and get to upload document which can directly be seen on the document library rather than first taking control of the doc and then checking it in?

    Hi,
    When uploading files without filling in some required columns, the files would appear in “Checked Out Files” page.
    To avoid this situation, you can modify that windows application to force users fill in the required columns or just define default values for those columns.
    You can take a look at the link below for more information:

  • Document Tab page in Product Master(commpr01)?

    Hello CRM Gurus,
    I wolud like to know in which business context the Document Tab Page used in creation of Product Master.
    I see that i can attach any Document at my wish.of formats .doc,.xls,.pdf etc.
    But why is it given.?
    If i am creating an IP(Intellectual Property say a Movie Title)
    what can i attach or upload ?what is the business requirement?
    please clarify
    Thanks
    Arshad

    Hi Arshad,
    Document Tab is nothing more then a Informaton storage Point of location.
    For Ex; Say a company for which you are Implementing Deals with Product like Boilers, Lights etc.
    IF there  are mtuliple of choices and infomation related to eachd evice they can store those information in document tab.
    Information like Pictures, Some Text Description message.
    Document tab over here is also the same as you have in Activity, Opportunity Transaction.
    And in that we call them as Long Text storage Areas, so same rule Implies for products Document Tab as well.
    Hope this helps.

    How do I upload files onto pages on my iPad?

    You can email them to yourself and then open them in Pages by using the "open in" option in the mail app when you are viewing the attachment, you can use DropBox, or you can use iOS file sharing.
    Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Click on your iPad's name on the left side of iTunes under  "Devices" in order to select it. Click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right. Find the Pages App in the list of File Sharing apps under the main list of apps and click on it. Then drag the files from your desktop that you want to move into the document sharing window on the right - next to the the Pages app. You can also use the Add button and navigate to the documents that way to select them. Sync your iPad if you choose to do so and then eject it when the sync completes.
    Launch the Pages app and then click on the + in the upper left corner to add a document. Select - Copy from iTunes and a window will pop up with a list of all of the documents that you dragged into the window on the computer when the iPad was connected to iTunes. Select the document from there.

  • Switching between documents in Pages

    I am in the habit of working with multiple Pages documents at once and must manually click "Window" to move to the other document. I know that if I need to switch to another application I can use "Command + Tab", however is there a way to switch between documents in Pages other than using the "Windows" menu?

    Hi jordalex325
    Welcome to the forum.
    The function is a +system wide function+ so you find it in the Finder:
    +Menu > Window > Cycle through Windows+
    In English the shortcut shows as +command `+ on the menu, look in the same menu in Swedish and see what it suggests there.
    *Swedish keyboard*

    The ` key is on the top row, far right and combined with the shift key.
    Amendment: On closer examination this is actually a PC keyboard. I am trying to source a Swedish Mac Keyboard image, so far unsuccessfully. Maybe you could tell us what is different meanwhile.
    *English Keyboard*

    You could try that or try remapping the shortcut in:
    +System Preferences > Hardware > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts+
    Peter
    PS Try opening +Show Keyboard Viewer+ from your input menu on the top right of the menu bar and see what characters are where when you type.
