Upload of Campaign and Leads from flat file into SAP CRM system

Hi Gurus,
We need to upload Campaign and Leads from our legacy systems to SAP CRM systems. The source data will be available in the form of flat files (tab delimited)
Please let me know the possible ways of doing this.

you can use external list management functionality in CRM 5.0 useing the flat file tab delimited you can upload the contacts and create business partners followed by lead transaction types with business partners created and also external list management will allow you to create target groups for executing the campaigns in SAP CRM

while creating flat file u may check for how many fileds did u require and what r they
and check for each attribute for fileds in the screen
so it is compatable for the filed attributes
after the date format is also very important (it should match the SAP date format)
all fileds of data should match with the flat file

dear all,
i want to upload the schedule lines from flat files to sap schedulle lines
but the flat files have 15 schedule lines and the data is as per date
so how to upload that and the fields available in flat files are more than the sap screen
we are having more than 6 items
and 15scedule lines its abt 90data to be upload
for one customer in every 15 day
so how to do this
is there any direct use in functional side
with out the help of any abap
but my user will do it
so he need a permanent solution

Hi Subrat ,
u can upload the data either ( Master /Transaction) data with the help of lsmw. for that all u need to do is go through the lsmw and do it. in that u can go Batch input recording/ BAPI/ IDOC any of that. here i am sending the LSMW Notes go through it and do the work.
once u create the LSMW project then u can ask the data from user or u can explain the user about the program and can run the flat file to upload the data.

Hi,
You can not directly use a logo from a file into a Smart form. First you will have to upload it to SAP. This has to be done only once. Once it is imported into SAP then you can use it in smart form. To import a logo to SAP, goto SE78. Open the tree under GRAPHICS. Select the file type and click on the Import (first button on the toolbar, just before delete button). Select the logo file and give it some appropriate name along with description. Select appropriate type of the image and click Continue. Your logo will be uploaded into SAP from a file. Now in your smartform, Create a Graphic Node, give the name of the logo along with other properties. In this way you can import a logo from a flat file into SAP and consequently in a smart form.

When we load data from flat file into BW the sequence of fields in flat file should be matched with the transfer structure or communication structure?

The sequence of fields in a flat file must be the same as this one in the transfer structure.
The comm and tran structures are the same after the first creation of datasource from flat file source system. After that someone could change the sequence in the CS -- if the mapping of fields in transfer rules remains unchanged, then the load is to be succesful.
In case of changing the sequence in TS you'll get either error or wrong load (values to be loaded into some infobjects will go to another ones.)

Loading data from flat file into 0EMPLOYEE

Dear,
I want to see the 'monthly change of numbers of employees' of my company in a BW report.
i want to do this by loading data from a dummy flat file into 0EMPLOYEE and afterwards into cube 0PAPA_C02.
i've searched the whole 'help and service sap' websites but nowhere, i could find a usefull user guide.
Could you explain me how this job needs to be done, are there certain steps that need to be taken?
here are a few of my questions:
1: what fields and data do i have to fill in my flat file?
2: how does the time-dependency of master data of employee work?
3: why do you only have to map 0calday and 0employee from infosource 0HR_PA_PA_1 to the corresponding fields of cube 0PAPA_C02?
4: how is the key figure 0HDCNT_VC filled automathically?
(the activation of cube 0PAPA_C02 and its flow is already done.)
or maybe you know a user guide which explains the whole picture and could you send me its link?

Hi,
Employee is master data : You need to extarct data every month.Once the extraction is done , you need rto activate to see the results. Otherwise it will display old result.
You can extract data for 0HR_PA_0 and 0HR_PA_1 cubes also. After that you can do the reporting based on this.
You can try some sap standard BI reports .
Headcount is calculated based on employement percentage which is maintained in infotype 0007 (Planned Working Time). If it is 100 then it is considerd as headcount 1.

I am getting a short dump........saying number conversion dump (while reading a currency value into field in internal table from a fixed lenght flat file).........
Do I need to use a string variable to get the value from flat file or how ??

so i tried moving into a seperate variable
MOVE wa_temp-infile_string+106(8) TO v_percent.
and then write to
WRITE v_percent to wa_item-QT_PERCENT.

hi guys,
i need the right function module to upload the excel file from the presentation server in to sap-crm.
1) I know we use the function module 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INT_TABLE' in sap-r/3 but this function module is not exist in sap-crm.
2) i tried with the function moduel 'GUI_UPLOAD' but its not uploading correctly i am gettting hases(#).
Please can any one provide the right function module to upload the excel into sap-crm with an sample code.

Scheduling Problem for uploading Data from Flat file to SAP

Hi guys,
I am facing a weared problem in uploading some leave records in z table. The code is working fine if we run it through se38 after selecting the file from a shared location from production server which has all the access rights.
This folder lies in the \usr folder of SAP Production.
I have kept all the Flat files in the shared path "
Tis-mum-iz-s1\migration\SAP-INT\leave\" ...
To give u exact directory structure..
Tis-mum-iz-s1 is the Server Name
usr is the SAP System folder used for uploads and downloads

Migration folder is shared with all rights.
Obviously, we cannot give shared drive as the variant in the scheduler.
So i use the system path i.e. \usr\sap\tmp\migration\sap-int\leave\ as the variant.
All my other download programs are working fine with this path as a variant...
But my this particular upload program does not work with this path....

How to remove Header and Footer from Flat File

In a scenario , we are going to recieve a flat file which will contains header , footer and data. We have to have to load data in Oracle tables and remove header and footer.
once the data load is complete , we have to delete flat file from source directory.
Please help me in solving this issue.

You have a header parameter in the file datastore. You can provide any number to skip rows from top of the file. For footer you can create a filter in staging area.
Filter coould be something like this.
where source_alias.source_column not like '%FOOTER_OR_ANY_VALUE_AS_PER_YOUR_REQ'

Regarding Upload of Goods Issue data from flat file

The following fields are provided in the flat file: BLDAT , BUDAT ,BWARTWE , WERKS and LGORT.
We also have to maintain Internal Order number in SAP which is not provided in the flat file ; how to go about it?
I have a doubt: since item level data is not provided in the flat file ; how that data will be captured ?
Should I go for BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE or write a BDC ?

You can only do a goods issue against a delivery. I dont understand how you can Issue goods using a flat file.you will have to check with your functional consultant.

I am new to idoc area.Please provide me the sample program that how to update material master data by using standard idoc type.
I am clear with the point that we have to read flat file from application server to internal table.
But i got stucked at this point that how to update data from internal table data , by using standard idoc type MATMAS 05.

I am new to idoc area.and my requirement is to generate the idoc after reading data from a flat file. The file is passed to the application server
by a middleware . The SAP interface program reads the file from the application server and then starts processing the data. Please help me how to create the inbound IDoc and which FM needs to be used.
Please provide a sample Program .
