Uploading Itutor files(.sim) into Portal

Can you suggest me the procedure to upload Itutor files into the Portal

For large files, the upload time through WebDAV is limited by
1) the repository manager's performance and
2) bandwidth.
Thus it's unlikely you'll find a faster way, except one that doesn't require transferring the contents at all (such as CM repository in FSDB mode).
WRT to IE vs Firefox: Microsoft's WebDAV client is not part of IE; so it doesn't matter which browser you use. Alternatively, use a third-party client (such as Portal Drive), or whatever your preferred operating system comes with.

I have modified com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par and have renamed it to some other name.
Now I have uploaded the par file.
The problem is that when choose new from PAR option (to create iview from a par file),I am not able to see the par file in the Portal Archive selection.
I also want to know that if I am able to call the par file in the iview, can I use this iview to have a portal login.
Our requirement is that we want to give login page for the portal in the portal home page.The portal home page will be for the anonymous users.

Check ur Portalapp.xml file. If u have the following code in that just <b>remove</b> them
<property name="com.sap.portal.pcm.Category" value="platform">
<property name="inheritance" value="final"/>
Deploy it again.now u can see that par in ur portal.Refer this thread also

Upload PDF file from SAP Portal and save in SAP

A file in PDF format needs to be uploaded from SAP Portal and the file is to be saved in SAP. Request for help, how to do the same. What are the FM to be used etc..

i know that we can do by webdyopro / adobe forms but for one customer i can do but here 200 customer are having different
format
can any one suggest me this requirement is fulfilled by SAP-XI, OR ANY OTHER

Hi,
you can try using the method cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open_dialog, this will open a popup allowing
you to browse and selected the desired files from your system.
Use this method along with the function module GUI_UPLOAD to upload all the desired files and their contents in SAP.

Upload XML file data into internal table

I need help from you.
I am uploading XML file from Application server.
1.In application server under directory it may have several XML files and i need to upload all the XML files when we gave only directory name. So, what is the function module for that logic . If possible code also.
2.Once we get the files into some internal table we need to upload data from that files to internal table.
So what is the logic for that , if possible code also.
I am giving sample directory:
For example in this directory assume 3 xml files are there.
I need to upload those files and data from that in to internal table.

No,you cannot upload directly on portal. You have to upload manually once you generate eTds file from SAP bcoz you need your loging id and password for file return on gov portal.

i want to upload data in cs01 tcode.
but data is excel sheet while i am trying to use gui_upload it is not being possible for me to upload data.

Upload Excel File from Portal (R/3 working fine)

Hi Experts!!
We have a report in which we are uploading an excel file from presentation server into an itab. When F4 clicked for file path, browser will open for choosing the path. Now, we have created an iView in Portal for this t-code. However, F4 is not working from Portal, rather giving an error 'Please wait. You will be forwarded automatically. This page had to be included for technical reasons.'.
We need to upload excel file even from Portal too. Can somebody please give me some inputs or suggestions?

Now I am able to get into SAP screen. However it's not opening the t-code that I mentioned. I gave some Z t-code ZTEST. Once I check the iView, it is showing SAP screen with the below things:

And at the bottom it's giivng a warning message:

In iView properties I can see Object Type as com.sapportals.portal.iview. Is this the same Object Type that the message is talkign about? Can you please help me out?

Error in Uploading of Documents into Portal through KM

I Am new to KM, i am uploading the Word Documents into Portal through KM, this is the path : Content Administrator->KM Content->Documents--->
here i am creating one folder after that i am uploading one Word Document into through Folder--->Upload, but when i am clicking on that uploaded document it shows Portal Runtime error....This is my problem....

or

How can we limit uploading file size in portal.

we have a feature where customers can upload there files, we use portals for uploading files, form which has the file type is posted to a stored procedure and which in turns calls the wwv_things.saveitem.
we need to restrict a file size and file type for the uploading files, I can restrict the file type with javasript but wanted to find out if oracle portals has any way to restrict the uploading file size,

Upload Exel file into VC

Hi friends,
I want to upload the file(Exel) into VC. How we can do this.
I tried it by taking a Form iview and add a field which have Control of Pushbutton on this form . But when i am deployed it and click on field nothing will be displayed. I want when i click on this field a Window dialog box should appear , so that i can select the exel file and display output of this exel file into output form
Any Help would be appreciated by providing Points.

How to upload a large size file to enterprise portal?

Dear All,
I want to upload a file to my portal but its size is around 500 MB so in single run it is not allowing me for the same.
I tried to access that one via creating a external link from portal to local disk of server but it is also restricted if I access my portal from outside the LAN.
So is there any other way to serve this purpose?

If i am not wrong, i think you are are talking about creating a Network Drive on your local machine,if yes then Network Drive and Portal drive are different.

How to retrieve a local file from a portal report.

Hi,
I need to access a local htm file from my local directory. I stored the filename in
a table. And I built a portal report to select the filename from the table. The filename
in the report will be link to a procedure that I created to pass the filename. The
procedure code is as follow:

Then in the httpd.conf file, I put in an alias like this:

I stopped the http server and restarted it after I made the changes.
When I run the report, I click on the filename link: in my example,it is:
internal_portal_faq, the filename is passed to the procedure that I created.
But I got the following error message on the browser:
No DAD configuration Found
DAD name:
PROCEDURE : internal_portal_faq
URL : http://localhost:80/pls/portal30/uploaddoc/internal_portal_faq
I am running on version 3.07 on NT on my laptop.
Any idea what I did wrong?
P.S. I don't want to upload the file using a portal form into the blob field.
