Urgent: dateformat and culture

Post Author: bozz
CA Forum: .NET
Hi I have created a windows service that open a report, set a Dataset as datasource andsend an email with the pdf export attached.The date format in the report is based on the server date format (and not on the thread culture).I have tried to change the locale Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo(int.Parse( list[i].Lcid));                Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new CultureInfo(int.Parse(list[i].Lcid));CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils.RequestLcid = int.Parse(list[i].Lcid);but nothing seems to work right.Any solutions?Thanks in advanceBoz

String date = "12/08/1979";
SimpleDateFormat formatterIn = new
SimpleDateFormat("mm/dd/yyyy");
Date convDate = formatterIn.parse(date);
SimpleDateFormat formatterOut = new
SimpleDateFormat("yyyymmdd");
date = formatterOut.format(convDate);
System.out.println("Date : " + date);Cheers"mm" is for minutes, "MM" is for months.
A simple cludge would be             String orig = "10/01/2004";
            System.out.println(orig.replaceAll("(\\d+)/(\\d+)/(\\d+)","$3$1$2"));

  • How can I enter my podcast in more than one category?  Mine covers arts, education and society and culture, but is listed as "Performing Arts".  Thank you for your time!

    How can I enter my podcast in more than one category, to reflect the fact that it covers arts, education and society and culture?  Thank you for your time!

    You can have more than one category - this page shows you how the tags are formed:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#category
    The Store will list only the first category and its sub-category at the top of the page. Like the first category, the others will in theory make your podcast available for searching by category. However searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#getfeatured
    Note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special.
    If you have further questions about making your podcast it's better to ask them in the Producing Podcasts forum.

  • Can I force a site to be hosted in the U.S.? Or is it as simple as setting the country and culture?

    Hi,  I would like to target the U.S. with a new site but I'm not sure about the best way to do it.  I'm hoping it is as simple as changing the country and culture within settings. And do I need separate sites if I'm are targeting different countries? Or can each domain be within the one site and have separate countries and cultures set for each domain? Thanks for any feedback.

    Is it possible to make a song available in the U.S. even if it's only available in the U.K.? Example: "Can We Dance" and "Wild Heart" by The Vamps.
    There is a page for submitting such requests to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
    Note that this functions as a "suggestion box," not as a "special order," so there is no assurance that it will be made available.

  • Category name Society and Culture: Places & Travel OR Travel & Places

    I am a bit confused, I try to update / change categories to Society and Culture: Places & Travel. In the techspecs it says in code
    <itunes:category text="Society &amp; Culture">
    <itunes:category text="Travel &amp; Places" />
    </itunes:category>
    and at the end it says Places & Travel.
    Is there a difference? If yes, what should I take?
    my feed is btw. www.iAudioguide.com/podcast.xml

    i am connecting to oracle database thru applet using oracle jdbc thin driver
    can anyone give me details about storing image to db
    1) what datatype should be used in table for image?
    2) my image files are on client machine... can i directly read those files from browser or first i have to copy those files to server?
    3) .gif files will do or what should be the fileformat?
    4) java code to store it to database (i am using jdk1.3)
    5) how to retrieve it back from database and display it in awt panel ?
    its very urgent ...
    i am doing some r&d and trying to do using blob....
    but it will take some time ...
    i will really be thankful if someone sends detail code....
    thankx in advance ....

    Hi,
    The code below might answer few of your questions.
    There is a restrcition on size of image, it must be less than 4KB.
    //Code to insert image in database
    //mytable is the table name that contains two fields in databse:name,image of type varchar and blob
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Connection con =null ;
    Statement stmt =null ;
    con =DriverManager.getConnection  ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@<hostname>:1521:orclsid", "system","manager");
    PreparedStatement preparedStatement = con.prepareStatement("insert into mytable (name,image) values (?,?)");
    preparedStatement.setString(1,"Amol");
    InputStream inputStream = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("C:\\WINNT\\Temp\\netscape\\images\\menubg.jpg"));
    preparedStatement.setBinaryStream(2, inputStream, inputStream.available());
    preparedStatement.executeUpdate();
    preparedStatement.close();
    inputStream.close(); To retrieve image,here is the snippet
    ResultSet resultSet = stmt.executeQuery("select image from mytable'");
    if (resultSet.next())
    byte[] image1 = resultSet.getBytes("image");
    FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream("c://splash11.jpg"); //will retrieve bytes and create a file
    //by the name specified
    fos.write(image1);

It is only fair for you to do some homework first prior to posting. Here are some suggestions from the developer community to the newest members. To avoid wasting fellow members' time unnecesarily, please use the following checklist before posting a question:
    * Search before Posting: Especially if you are in a hurry, you may find that the question has already been asked and answered during the long history of the Forums.
    * Know the basics: Read this FAQ and the basic trails of the Java Tutorial (like Getting Started or Learning the Java Language). If you don't understand the question you are posing, you may not understand the answers.
    * Be thorough and precise: Proofread your question before posting. Describe the steps that you have taken. The more effort you put into researching and describing your problem, the more likely you will get a sincere effort in return.
    * Post a subject line that describes the problem: Experts in your subject may skim right past subject lines like "Urgent" and "Need help ASAP". Use keywords about the technologies instead.
    * Post a problem, not an assignment: Break your assignment down into specific problems that you can ask for help with. Dorm hall lounges may be a better resource if you have a last minute, "urgent" demand for solutions to homework problems.

    I have been having a problem with the display of my N95. The Display goes BLACK and i cant see anything on the screen. Then when i hit the back or side of the phone, the display appears but turn Red/orange/blue at times and also moves all over the place.. I have seen the screen go from right to left..

    Anyone..? It's Urgent..

    It's definitely a hardware problem with your phone. You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair. It will be free if your phone is under warranty and undamaged. If you are out of warranty you will have to pay. Only the care point can tell you the cost.
    Care points/service centres and repair info:
    UK • Europe • Asia-Pacific • USA •
    Canada • Middle East and Africa
    Elsewhere: Click here, select your country, go to the support section, then select repair.

    I'll 2nd Chris's comments about position:absolute.  It is definitely not needed for 98% of page layouts and in most cases should be avoided because it makes a complete mess of things.
    You also have quite a few coding errors which mucks things up in browsers.  While I'm not certain what all you're trying to do with those labels, But I think you can simplify things enormously by using a very basic CSS layout and simple jQuery Accordion panels.
    Copy & paste the following code into a new, blank document.  SaveAs test.html and preview in browsers.

  • URGENT Bridge and cache error photo corrupted NEED HELP

    We were going to edit a photo and upon opening it and error came up and said: "edit bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. please try purging the central cache in cache peferences to correct situation"
    We solved the cache problem by purging it but the photo is corrupted! Furthermore, the photo turned red and 1/3 of the photo has been mysteriously turned black!  It only briefly returns to normal after cache problem in adobe bridge. It turns normal but only for a split second!!! WE NEED THIS PHOTO RESTORED TO ORIGINAL CONDITION BEFORE THE CACHE ERROR.
    Thank you for help

    Your photo may be lost, I'm sorry to say.
    Check your Windows System Event log and look for disk errors.  Disks do fail, and if there have been unrecoverable errors you'll see them in the event log.
    A failing disk is not something to be left alone.  I hope you have a recent backup - if not, make one right away, then replace any failing disk drive ASAP, or you chance losing more data.  I always recommend high-reliability enterprise class disk drives such as Western Digital RE4.  They're not that much more expensive, and lost data can be worth a lot.

  • HDV 1080i50 - urgent guidance and help required.

    Hi guys,
    I need to send a 129 minutes HDV feature (with a few DVD Pro and Targa frames) project that i have just finished editing to:
    1) SD DVD
    2) HD DVD
    3) Master Digital(Hard Disk)
    4) Master Digital to Tape.
    The project is as follows;
    Captured footage: HDV 1080 i50
    Some additional footage is in Targa and DVCPro file formats.
    Frame Size: 1440 x1080 @ 25 fps
    AIFF Audio 48Khz / 16 bit.
    The Sequence and Compressor codec is set to ProRes 422(HQ) and all else to 'BEST'.
    I have, so far, exported the entire nested project from FCP as a self contained Quicktime movie and the file size is 24.5GB. The result gave me lots of interlacing errors showing all over. The DVCPro and Targa data(video) didn't show).
    I haven't used compressor before (except for the web)and was hoping for some guidance from you all on which settings to use for the above four options.
    Also, if I need to print to film later, since the video is interlaced, is it going to cause problems?
    Does Compressor de-interlace or do I 'select all' in FCP and hit de-interlace?
    Thanks,
    Himayath.

    The same thing happened to me today. Did you find any help? I am about to order a DC in board and try that. Hopefully it's not the logic board. Any help is really appreciated! Thanks, Chris

  • Urgent: BSIS and MSEG link

    Hello,
    I cannot get the material number of the GR line in FI documents.
    I am using the tables BSIS and BSAS but cannot find any material number associated with them.
    BSEG is an option but it is giving time-out dump when data of more than 10 days are selected.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sukriti

    Hi Sukriti,
    Never use BSEG or MSEG directly to fetch data as they always have huge data and it takes lot of time to fetch data.
    the link between BSIS and MSEG is as follows.
    BSIS-BELNR = MSEG-BELNR
    BSIS-GJAHR = MSEG-GJAHR
    BSIS-BUZEI   = MSEG-BUZEI
    BSIS-BUKRS = MSEG-BUKRS
    and filter in where condition based on MSEG-MATNR = materials from Select option or Parameters.
    May be you can create an index with the above 4 fields and also BSIS-HKONT in BSIS table.
    This would definitely give you the exact number of entries as in BSIS and MSEG.
    You can notice that in MSEG the Fields are not Key fields but they will give you unique entries.
    So you should be using join for BSIS and MSEG tables on the above 4 fields.
    hope this will solve your problem.
