URGENT : How to give W3 command to DRC 91C using LabView

Hi,
I am very new to LabView and this is the first assignment that i need to carry out.
I need to set the DRC 91C Heater % to 20 by creating a program using LabView.
I tried placing an DRC 91C control on the front panel. Now how to use it.
Can someone help?
I have read the Manual for DRC 91C from Lake Shore but it only mentions what parameters to use to execute W3.
But where should i give there parameters (N1N2N3,N4N5N6,N7N8N9,N10,N11N12N13) .
Any type of info will be helpfull.
Please Guide a bit.
Regards,
Shriniket Sarkar

Please refer to table 4-9 and 4-10 page 4-14,4-15. The N(x) denotes a number
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • [Urgent]How can I write to physical memory by using LabVIEW 8.2??

    Hi everybody,
I am dealing with a project related to micro-EDM. We feed the gap voltage back to a NI DAQ card (not quite sure about the series number, might not be important to this problem), and we want to use this voltage to determine the command position of the motor, which is controlled by a Delta Tau PMAC motion controller. Now the problem is, the NI DAQ card and Delta Tau PMAC controller cannot communicate directly with each other. Therefore, we want the LabVIEW to write the value of voltage to a certain physical memory address, and then let the PMAC controller read that address. Is this feasible by using LabVIEW and NI-DAQ card? Which block or library in LabVIEW shall I use to achieve that? Or is there any alternative way to do it? Thanks a million!
I have to get this done by the end of this week....if you know how to do it, please let me know. I really appreciate it! You are my lifesavor!

  • How can i write the data to PIC16F819 using labview?

how can i write the data to PIC16F819 using labview?
    Need help!
im using labview in gathering the datas that i need to right to the PIC, then after getting all the datas i am using another program which is ICD2 in order to write it to the PIC. Is it possible to do this task through LV? coz we are spending a lot of time transferring the data from LV to ICD2 manually and its prone to mistake as well.
    any suggestion?
    thanks,

LabVIEW does not currently have a built-in method to communicate with
i2c, but there are other vendors that sell devices to communicate in
this manner with LabVIEW development kits.  One that I know of is
from MCC... here is a link:  http://www.mcc-us.com
They sell a device called iPort, and then you can buy LabVIEW VIs to go with it.  I hope this is helpful to you!

  • Erratic Mac! It gives itself commands while I'm using it.

My Mac seems to have gone completely insane. It gives itself all kinds of commands while I'm using it and the tracpad seems to be involved. Upfont I'll say that I've completly ruled out the battery expansion problem with the help of a professional. My Mac has not experienced any type of accident or damage that would alter how it works. While I'm attempting to use it, it will sweep between desktop/safari/desktop/finder etc... It will highlight text, zoom in and out, look up dictionary definitions on random words and sometimes just refuse to respond if I try to fix it. Example, if it zooms I have to double tap...over...and over...and over again until it finally responds. This is just tapping, not clicking. When I try to just navigate my cursor to one part of a page to another it becomes extremely erratic, jumping around the page and sometimes going in the complete opposite direction. The curser will become "sticky" the page will stick to it when I touch the tracpad it just immediately tries to sweep to a different screen. It will minimize pages that I'm on all by itself and go to new areas like from safari to pages. All of these problems are intermittent so it's been extremely difficult to get it diagnosed by my computer guy who is very competent with Macs. My tracpad is in perfect shape, no cracks, uneven spots and fully depresses when I click. Basically, there's no obvious visual damage to indicate a problem.
Any ideas? My guy said that if I have to replace the tracpad, I have to replace everything on top...keyboard etc...because it's all one piece. I was quoted a very steep price for this repair and would like to give him some direction. He says he's never heard of anything like it before and he's been doing this for a very long time.
As an example of this craziness, it's taken me about a half hour to get this typing done because I constantly have to bring it back to this screen after it goes off on a wild goose chase...

There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not be applicable.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable.
    2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check for unknown or forgotten input devices. Disconnect any USB input devices that you aren't using.
    3. Boot in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you reboot as usual, stop here and post your results. If you can't boot in safe mode, do the same. If you booted in safe mode and there was no change, go on to the next step.
    4. Reset the System Management Controller.
    5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    6. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    7. Some people have reported that they fixed a malfunctioning trackpad by pressing down on all four corners at once. I can't confirm, but it does no harm to try.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • How do i open and control other programs using labview?

I'm presently trying to use labview to try to open and operate another program, but having much difficulty. The external program i'm using is called the Foundation program.
This Foundation program will use VHDL programming to create a virtual chip and then synthesising it.This program will then simulate the output of this VHDL program to verify that it is working as desired. Then the last stage is to download the whole VHDL program into a FPGA chip using a xilinx cable.
All this need to be done using a labview program - to open the Foundation program and then extract the saved file and then to execute the download command to cause the VHDL program to be downloaded onto the FPGA chip. How do i go
about doing all this? What is the first step i must do.Also all this have to be done thru networking..looks like its too difficult..I really need help.
    grays

I haven't done VHDL so pardon my ignorance.
LabVIEW can call external DLL via "Call Library Function" or C programs via "Code Interface Node", both located in "Advanced" function.
If your program is a DOS program, use "System Exec.vi" found in "Communication" function. If you need to format your DOS command prior to sending it, use the "Format Into String" function in "String" function palette.
Lastly, if you're trying to extract data, assuming it is text, use "File I/O" functions. If the data is binary, use "File I/O -> Binary File VIs".
Hope that answers most of your questions.

  • How can you create a test plan generator using labview

I am looking to create a testplan generator using labview to help RF Engineers translate test requirements into test parameters and wanted to know how i can go about it.

Have you considered to use Teststand? Teststand organizes all the tests and allows to parameterize them.
Creating a tool with a similar functionality will be more expensive than buying Teststand and modifing the operator interface.

  • How can I test IRIG-B'a accuracy using Labview

We have a GPS source as reference, how can we test second GPS clock with IRIG-B output ?  Can we by using Labview ?

Most timecode generators work by taking an external input (GPS, IRIG, PPS, or any of a number of other timecodes such as MILA, NASA36, IRIG A, etc) and outputting an on-time signal.
The most common systems now use a GPS receiver to steer an oscillator to some fixed frequency (10MHz is a favorite) and then use that steered oscillator to generate the outputs.  The one PPS from a GPS receiver is not very smooth and jumps around easily a few hundred nano-seconds every PPS (at least they used to).
Time codes are usually done by generating an on-time digital signal in which the rising edge of the frame bits is co-incident with the PPS timing.  The digital signal is then sent through some analog magic (op amps and whatever) which delays the output on time.
In digital signals, the rising edge is considered on time, in analog it is the zero-crossing.
Good systems will calibrate out the analog delay in the factory by moving back the on-time timing that is fed to the analog so that all on-time marks are co-incident.

  • How to generate and print 20x20 datamatrix barcode using labview?

Along with the barcode certain datas are to be added to the right of it.

Since you started a duplicate thread - I'm going to continue in here.
We have given you a number of different options to generate/print a barcode using LabVIEW.
Do you have the Bartender software installed with the Automation (ActiveX) option? Can you print a label from within the Bartender Software? Do you know how to call ActiveX functions in LabVIEW? For the latter, if you Google 'calling ActiveX LabVIEW' you will get a lot of results. Once you know how to do that, you just need to know which Bartender ActiveX functions to call.
I've attached a couple of screenshots from some quick code my colleague put together before to initialise Bartender, open a label template, fill in a field and print a label. Don't forget the close the references when your application exits. For more information you'll need to read the Bartender documentation.

  • How to create a strictly typed refnum control using LabVIEW scripting

I wish to use LabVIEW scripting to create a strictly-typed refnum control that is bound to my custom control (a type-defined cluster), but I'm unfamiliar with scripting and can't see how to do it.
If I create a New VI Object, using Control Refnum as the Style, how do I provide my custom control to the VI Object Class terminal? When I try using a reference to my custom control.ctl file (using Open VI reference) I get an error: "Error 1057 occurred... Type mismatch: Object cannot be cast to the specified type."
Or, if I create a new Control Refnum as above, using a standard Cluster as the VI Object Class, how do I then convert this refnum control to a strictly typed refnum that is bound to my custom cluster control type?
Thanks in advance for any advice,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Here we go...
You have to create a new Control VI and then specify the VI Type as Typedef.

  • How do you analyse a binary time series using labview?

I am new with time series data analysis and labview. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with analyzing a binary time series (1 or 0 output) using labview. ecifically I want to find out the period/frequency of a
oscillating signal. Can I use the Walsh transform. If so how do I convert 'sequency' to time period. Are there any beginners text book out there? I would reallly appreciate it if anyone could help me out with this.

Your comment about an indicator getting "clogged up with data" doesn't make any sense. The contents of a string or array indicator can get large and slow things down but a numeric indicator cannot get clogged up. If the data stops making sense, then you are incorrectly reading the instrument and converting that data to a numeric. With your comments about the device transmit buffer, I suspect you have occasionaly set the byte count too low and unread bytes are there that you then read the next time. As long as the instrument is fairly new, it will send out a termination character (typically EOI) that will terminate the read. You can then set the read count to some arbitrarily high number to ensure you've got the entire tr
ansmit buffer contents. It's also possible that you periodicaly have an error condition where the instrument is sending unexpected information. For example, if it normally sends a floating point number as a result and then it sends an error message string, you might not be intrepreting it correctly.

  • How to give numeric command in java

i have following codes, there is no error in code. it displays
    command = Integer.parseInt(args[2]);
    if (command == 0 || command == 1 || command == 2 || command == 3) {

    when i run it displays

    3 - to show all
    4 - to exit
but now when i enter 0 in same command prompt after executing this statement
    it says it can't understand

args[2]Do you understand what this means? You need to invoke your program with at least 3 arguments and the third one has to be an integer.
