Urgent!!: System Update 4.0 Can't Be Launched in SL500
I am using SL500 under O/S Windows 7 32Bit. While I tried to launch Thinkvantage System Update (4.0 version), machine always shows this error message: " Unable to connect to the proxy server". Whenever I reinstall this update, and as soon as it was launched, this error still occurred. I wonder if some experts could give me some hint.

Lenovo System Update 5.03 on T430u doesn't report software updates
On my T430u Lenovo System Update 5.03 running on windows 8.1doen't find any update even though updates are available. More technical details about the problem are reported in my previous thread.

I've just reinstalled all components:
- .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
- Lenovo System Update 5.03.008 (systemupdate503-2013-10-31.exe)
- Related Patch "Patch module for Lenovo System Update" (sushortcutfix01.exe)
- Executing DesktopToastsForCriticalUpdates (look at the screenshot) it reports available updates
- Executing Lenovo System Update it doesn't report any updates to install.
In logs directory of Lenovo System Update installation directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\logs) I can extract the same error:

Does ThinkVantage System Update 5.06 work on B540 AIO?
Can someone clarify if ThinkVantage System Update 5.06 can be used on the Ideacenter B540 AIO? Says in the ReadMe txt file that it supports Lenovo V/B/K/E Series. Thanks for any help.

System Update 5.02.0007 and RDP
TVSU 5.02.0007 show only splash screen and then closes when run on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit via Remote Desktop
In previous version you could set compatibility mode to XP SP3 for the TVSU.EXE and it would work, but if you do that on the current version, you'll get the error messages saying that you need Windows 7 to run the program.
Any workarounds for this problem?? It is VERY annoying

This is a known limitation and we have below workaround:
under the TVSU installation directory, usually is =>C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update, here you can find a file named "tvsukernel.exe", under the remote control scenario , you can launch TVSU by double click of "tvsukernel.exe" instead of double click "tvsu.exe", so you can create a shortcut for "tvsukernel.exe" on the desktop, then use it to launch tvsu.Please test and feedback your result. Sorry for the inconvinient. -
Lenovo System Update fried my BIOS... What can I do?

I'm in a bind. I did a clean install of Vista, and then I ran ThinkVantage System Update. It pulled up the BIOS update as a critical issue (among others) and so I consented to install it. The problem is, halfway through the update process, it stopped responding. I gave it two hours, then, thinking that it might be okay (the updater hadn't gotten to "erasing old BIOS" or whatever...) I rebooted it.
Four beeps and then nothing. Nothing.
I took it to my university's ITS department, and they recommend a system board replacement. I can't afford that.
I was wondering if there was a way that I could reflash the BIOS myself, or if I had to send it to depot, what sort of time and cost I am looking at. Can anyone advise me on what I should do?Have you contacted support as ProblematicT61p did?
By doing so it looks as though they got their problem was solved.

Since system update, can no longer save photos or access galleries
I received and installed a system update yesterday. Now, I can no longer access photos or save any photos. Most of the time, when I press the camera button, I get a message that says "Sorry! The process androoid.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I also get this message when I go to settings, about phone and it happens at random times, like when I'm checking email or texting.
A couple of times I've been able to get the camera open and take a photo, but after I save it, when I go to gallery, it says there are no photos or videos to show.
I thought all of my photos had been deleted, but I was able to plug my phone into the computer and copy them, so they are there on the phone somewhere.
I tried restarting, removing and reinstalling the sd card, and installing a brand new sd card. Nothing has helped.
How can I fix this?July a Hard Reset or FR is a factory Reset what it does is takes your phone back to when you bought it new at the store an to get to were you do the hard reset you need to Hit menu > Settings > then Sd An phone Storage an scroll all the way to the bottom were you will see Factory Data Reset but dont Tap on it . Unless you know how to do the FR.
Since your new to doing a Fr Call Verizon go to option 3 or Technical support on a landline phone or a cell phone other than the one that needs the FR Tell them you have the Original Incredible an you need to perform an Fr an they'll help U go thru the steps.
Now you'll have to back up your contacts they'll tell you how to do it an if bought any apps they'll be save you free apps you need to write them down on a peice of paper so you know what you had an can re enter them.

I have an iPod with iOS 4.2.1 and would like to up date to version 5. The pc I normally sync with has XP operating system. So I can't up date to iTunes 10. And my iPod doesn't show the software update button shown in the article. What can I do?
You cannot update it if you can't get the latest version of iTunes. Actually, the latest version of iTunes will run in XP if you have Service Pack 2. Also, you posted in the iPad forum, and your profile shows you have an iPad, but in your post, you say it is an iPod. Is it an iPad or an iPod?

I have a hp C410 all-in-one series printer. When I updated to 10.8.1 it was no longer supported. HP told me to go to the Apple system updates and download an installation program update. I can't find that program in my Apple updates file. Please help.

My ipod touch 4th Gen doesn't give "System update" option in General settings, how can i fix it?
My gf gave me her old ipod touch. the 4th gen one with the front facing camera, the version is 4.3.3 and I'm trying to update it, but when I go into "general" and right under the "about" option it should give me the "system update" option but it doesn't, is there a reason for that?

Can't boot after system update: unknown filesystem type
After running a system update, including updating the kernel, I can't boot to the new kernel.
On booting, grub loads the kernel image, runs/loads udev, but then fails to mount the root partition with error:
mount: unknown filesystem type 'ext4'
I have tried reinstalling the 'linux' package via packman several times, also trying the --recursive argument to make sure all my dependencies were there, and after days of googling and tweaking my system, I'm at a loss.
Thank goodness I happened to keep a spare kernel laying around in /boot.

Also, try adding "rootfstype=ext4" to your grub kernel line. Is your /boot on a separate partition or part of your / partition? -
I have changed my Apple ID and may be anything wrong did with Disk Utility.
So , I could not download system updates by normal way and downloaded them from Apple site via Folx and have them installed thus.
I have tried check out condition of Toshiba disk and got messages of errors.
What can I do in this situation?

How can I find out what my password on the computer is? I had to change it due to my teenagers helping themselves, and now every time there is a system update, I have to have the password, which I cannot remember or find. It then wants it every time I log in and pops up Key Chain Access as well. Very annoying. I do not have the disc to reload it and fear I would loose everything on my computer as there is also trouble with the back up system. Too many issues and not enough solutions. Why not? You need your system dvds to troubleshoot & to reset/change passwords in view of your current OS listed in your profile.
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
