URL Rewrite Rule: HTTP to HTTPS Not Working

Here is my problem. I cannot get HTTP to HTTPS redirect to work using the URL Rewrite module. I am using version 2, by the way, which I understand is the latest version. I've also enabled the "Proxy Server" and Application Request Routing"
features.
I've trolled through the Internet for 2 days now for solutions to my problem, including the ones provided by the TechNet forums and by MVP Scott Forsyth. I've tried over 30 solutions, and none have resolved my issue. Granted some of the solutions I've tried
may have been repeats of others. After trying so many, I have had a hard time discerning the differences. Does it really matter, for instance if the pattern match for the {HTTPS} input is specified as
"^off$" or just "off"? I see this discrepancy (among others) everywhere. It seems like there are so many variations out there. It is quite confusing for the uninitiated and the newbies like myself to the
URL Rewrite technology. I have enabled and consulted my "Failed Request Tracing Rules" logs but cannot make any sense of the cryptic information it is providing.
I just cannot get my reverse proxy server to redirect http requests from the Internet to https to my internal web server. When a user specifies "https://server1.xxxxx.com". he is able to access the internal server via the reverse proxy (IIS) server.
But when he specifies "http://server1.xxxxx.com" he receives "Server Error 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."
At this point I am at my wits end, and am even considering configuring the protocol translation on our firewall. But this not my preference as it presents another layer of complexity, and device to troubleshoot later on. Below I've pasted my entire web.config
file with my most current version of the rule in question (in bold) for your review. I started to paste just the specific rule, but thought you might need to see the entire file in case something else may be conflicting with the rule.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello,
The WLS managed server WLS_FORMS must be started .
You can use a BAT script containing the following command lines to start it :
    title WLS_FORMS
    set DOMAIN_HOME=D:\oracle\fmw11g\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain
    cd %DOMAIN_HOME%\bin
    set SERVER_NAME=WLS_FORMS

  • Rule based ATP is not working for Components

    Hi All,
Our requirement is to do availability check through APO for Sales order created in ECC,so we are using gATP.
Requirement: We are creating salesorder for BOM header (Sales BOM) and avaialbility check should happen for components i.e. Product avalaibility & Rule based substitution.
Issue: Product availiabilty is working for components but rules based substituion is working,  mean Rules are not getting determind for components.
    Settings:
    - Header doesnot exist in APO and compnents do exist in APO
    - Availability check is not enabled for header item category and enabled for Item category for components
    - Rules have been created for Components in APO
    - Rule base ATP is activated in Check instructions
We have also tried MATP for this i.e. PPM created in APO but still didn't get the desired result.
If we create salesorder for the component material directly then Rule based ATP is happening, so for components Rule based ATP is not working.
How do we enable enable Rulesbased ATP for components, i mean is there any different way to do the same.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards,
    Jagadeesh

    Hi Jagdeesh,
If you are creating BOM in ECC and CIFing PPM of FG/Header material to APO, I think you need to CIF Header material, too, with material integration model.
Please include header material in you integration models for material, SO and ATP check as well.
For component availability check, you can use MATP; but for MATP, FG should be in APO. You need not to CIF any receipts of FG (stock, planned orders, POs etc), so that MATP will be triggered directly. Then maintaining Rules for RMs will enable to select available RMs according to the rule created.

  • I have updated my BRE with new rule but it is not working.

    Hi All,
I have got a requirement to add one more rule into my existing BRE.
Below are the points that I followed :
1).Firstly, I created the new version for my BRE , and added my rule in that.
2). Then I un-deployed the previous version of BRE and Deployed its new version.
3). I did restarted host instances and Rule engine service also.
3). Now, when I am testing the sample consisting of previous rule then it is executing,
But on the other hand when i am testing the sample based on my new rule then BRE is not working.
If BRE is Executing with previous rule then i believe it is working,
Then why it is not working for my new Rule .
4). When i am testing my policy then it is also working well enough .
Note : The Schema path is also correct ,
Any help and suggestion will be appreciated
    Kind Regards
    Rishi Gaur

    Hi Shankycheil,
1). My policy version 1.0 was having 10 rules.
2). Then i copied version 1.0  and added it to my new version 1.1 .
3). Than i added my rule to it only.
After all this I Undeploy version 1.0 and deployed my new version 1.1.
In Admin console I am getting error like you mentioned   somewhere about policy not found?

  • Weblogic Http Apache Plugin not working

    Hi,
I have installed weblogic server 10.3 on WindowsXP Professional and Http Apache 2.2 is running on port 80. I followed the following document to configure the Apache plugin:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/plugins/apache.html
but when I go and test the plugin it always comes back with 404 page not found. As per the documentation I am testing it as
    http://localhost:80/weblogic/
    Here is my httpd.conf
    Include "C:/bea/alui/plumtreeconf/"
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file.  It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do.  They're here only as hints or reminders.  If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path.  If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log".
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which httpd.exe is located
    # will be used by default.  It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path.  If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
    # at a local disk.  If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
    # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
    ServerRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2"

  • Cisco css http keepalive is not working with GET command

    Dear all
i have Cisco Css connected to Dell Server (via switch)
    Cisco CSS - 192.168.1.3 and Dell Server - 192.168.1.5
Dell server is setup with windows 2009R2 and Apache HTTPD is version 2.2
This server is dedicated to host multiple doamins with Apache lik
    www.abc.co.uk
    www.xyz.co.uk
Now the clinet wants to setup the http keepalive  with specfic web page like /testpage.html  for all these domains. i have teseed with single URI. it is working the comamnds are
    config)# service serv1
    (config-service[serv1])# ip address 192.168.1.5
    (config-service[serv1])# keepalive type http
(config-service[serv1])# keepalive method head    ( get i have not used due to hash mismatch with apche server, if i use GET it is not working)
    (config-service[serv1])# keepalive uri "/testpage.html"
    (config-service[serv1])# active
It is working with single URI.  but how can i do the same thing for multiple doamins ?
for multiple doamins do i need use script ? or can i use with commands ?
if i need to use script the script is
    !no echo
    ! Filename: httptag-test
    ! Parameters: HostName WebPage HostTag
    ! Description:
!       This script will connect to the remote host and do an HTTP
!   GET method upon the web page that the user has asked for.
!   This script also adds a host tag to the GET request.
    ! Failure Upon:
!   1. Not establishing a connection with the host.
!       2. Not receiving an HTTP status "200 OK"
    if ${ARGS}[#] "NEQ" "3"
            echo "Usage: httptag-test \'Hostname WebPage HostTag\'"
            exit script 1
    endbranch
    ! Defines:
    set HostName "${ARGS}[1]"
    set WebPage "${ARGS}[2]"
    set HostTag "${ARGS}[3]"
! Connect to the remote Host
    set EXIT_MSG "Connection Failure"
socket connect host ${HostName} port 80 tcp
! Send the GET request for the web page
    set EXIT_MSG "Send: Failed"
    socket send ${SOCKET} "GET ${WebPage} HTTP/1.1\nHost: ${HostTag}\n\n"
! Send the HEAD request for the web page
    set EXIT_MSG "Send: Failed"
    socket send ${SOCKET} "HEAD ${WebPage} HTTP/1.1\nHost: ${HostTag}\n\n"
! Wait for a good status code
    set EXIT_MSG "Waitfor: Failed"
    socket waitfor ${SOCKET} "200 OK"
    no set EXIT_MSG
    socket disconnect ${SOCKET}sh w
    exit script 0
in the script i have not used GET becasue, when CSS send GET request to apache it use hash, but apache is not able to respond with same hash and it shows that website is down. more information- click below url

    (config-keepalive) method
I have uploaded in CSS with httptag-test file and applied these commands
    service comp.brit.co.uk-80
      keepalive port 80
      ip address 192.168.1.5
      keepalive frequency 10
    keepalive maxfailure 2
    keepalive retryperiod 10
    keepalive type script httptag-test "192.168.1.5 /testpage.html  www.abc.co.uk
    keepalive type script httptag-test "192.168.1.5 /testpage.html  www.xyz.co.uk
but this script is not working
    my question is:
1.do i need use script only to setup http keepalvie with webpage for multiple domains ?
2.with out using script is there any solution like CICSCO  CSS commands  to setup http uril for multiple domains which are on 1 singl server.
    please help me asap

    Hello Muhammad,
If you wish to use multiple domains for a URI  keep-alive check, and perform a HEAD request what Daniel mentioned is  correct.  You have to use a scripted keep-alive check on the service.  However, you should not use the default "ap-kal-httptag" script to do so  as it's limited to only 1 website (unless you modify the script).  You're best bet would be using the "ap-kal-httplist" script on the CSS  as it allows the checking of 2 different websites along with a webpage  to check for each site using HTTP HEAD method.
    !no echo
    ! Filename: ap-kal-httplist
    ! Parameters: Site1 WebPage1 Site2 WebPage2 [...]
    ! Description:
!    This script will connect a list of sites/webpage pairs.  The
!   user must simply supply the site, and then the webpage and
!   we'll attempt to do an HTTP HEAD on that page.
    ! Failure Upon:
!   1. Not establishing a connection with the host.
!   2. Not receiving a status code 200 on the HEAD request on any
!      one site.  If one fails, the script fails.
! Make sure the user has a qualified number of arguments
    if ${ARGS}[#] "LT" "2"
            echo "Usage: ap-kal-httplist \'WebSite1 WebPage1 WebSite2 WebPage2 ...'"
            exit script 1
    endbranch
    while ${ARGS}[#] "GT" "0"
            set Site "${ARGS}[1]"
        var-shift ARGS
        if ${ARGS}[#] "==" "0"
set EXIT_MSG "Parameter mismatch: hostname present but webpage was not"
            exit script 1
        endbranch
        set Page "${ARGS}[1]"
        var-shift ARGS
        no set EXIT_MSG
        function HeadUrl call "${Site} ${Page}"
    endbranch
    exit script 0
    function HeadUrl begin
! Connect to the remote Host
set EXIT_MSG "Connect: Failed to connect to ${ARGS}[1]"
socket connect host ${ARGS}[1] port 80 tcp 2000
    ! Send the head request
set EXIT_MSG "Send: Failed to send to ${ARGS}[1]"
    socket send ${SOCKET} "HEAD ${ARGS}[2] HTTP/1.0\n\n"
! Wait for the status code 200 to be given to us
set EXIT_MSG "Waitfor: Failed to wait for '200' on ${ARGS}[1]"
    socket waitfor ${SOCKET} " 200 " 2000
    no set EXIT_MSG
    socket disconnect ${SOCKET}
    function HeadUrl end
Rather  then modify the default "ap-kal-httplist" script on the CSS I would  simply define the arguments within the service configuration itself.   Something like the following (using your service example):
    service dell-192.168.1.5
    ip address 192.168.1.5
    keepalive type script ap-kal-httplist "www.abc.co.uk /testpage.html www.xyz.co.uk /testpage.html"
    active
As  long as the server is configured to reply to host headers, and the page  is configured to retuen a "200 OK" the above service configuration  should work. If there are any errors simply run "show service  " to view why there was a failure. If there is a  failure, and the output from the command specified shows a line number  run the following command against the script to view at what point  (line) did the failure occur:
    show script ap-kal-httplist line-numbers
    Hope this helps!

I do have a ISA500 case open on our queue regarding HTTPS URL filtering and I remember one of you mentioning about the problem last week.
I was able to replicate the issue customer is experiencing with https://www.youtube.com.
Do you have any updates we can provide to our customers?
    Thank you,

    Hi Marcelo,
There is a limitation in our HTTPS support. ISA500 may already have certificate before you configure to allow https://www.youtube.com . You need to wait for the certificate to time out before it is allowed. If you still have it configured to allow. Please check again if it works now. I am able to block facebok with HTTPS.

  • On Safari https addresses would not work, while on Firefox this is no problem? What happened and what can I do to fix this?, On Safari https addresses would not work, while on Firefox this is no problem? What happened and what can I do to fix this?

On Safari all https addresses would not show up while on Firefox they just work fine. For example Facebook or the Appstore are not possible for me to see on Safari? How can I solve the problem?

    Hey juliane1205,
    First, try these steps:
Open Keychain Access, located in the Utilites folder in the Applications folder.
Choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.
Enter your user name and password.
Select Verify and click Start. Any problems found will be displayed.
If there are problems, select Repair, and then click Start.
To change the Keychain First Aid settings, choose Keychain Access > Preferences, and then click First Aid.
Then I would repair disk permissions:
Choose Apple menu > Software Update to make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS X.
Software updates sometimes change a file’s permissions to improve security, so updating your software can solve some permissions problems.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad.
Select the disk you want to check.
You can verify or repair permissions only on a disk with Mac OS X v10.7 Lion installed.
    Click First Aid.
    Do one of the following:
Click Verify Disk Permissions to test permissions.
Click Repair Disk Permissions to test and repair permissions.
And lastly, restart your computer, and see if that helps. If it doesn't, report back.

  • Problem with TREX 7.0 : HTTP Server is not working

    Hi all,
I have installed TREX 7.0 recently(Windows XP Pro, with IIS 5.1). I'm having portal installed in the same system(NW04s). After this installation I found that status of httpserver is red, rest all servers are having green status. I checked it in IIS, there also its indicating same(SAP_TREX_02 (Stopped)). I tried to connect http://<host-name>:30205/TREXHttpServer/TrexIsapiExt.dll, but its giving error as,
Error occurred when connecting to the server!
Description: Can't connect to the server.

I'm not able to get why http server is not able to get up. Please help me to resolve this problem. Waiting for some quick response.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ganpati Jha

    Hi,
do you configured TREX server in EP ?
You must configure the TREX name server in Visual Admin, to point to TREX.
Your error message say "Server: <host-ip>:30205", what is  <host-ip>? I think that is the problem, it must be your server name.
    Check this:

  • URL Rewrite Rules in 10.1.4

    Hi,
I am having some trouble rewriting the urls, I can't make it work ...
What I want is to change the url:
    http://www.mycompany.com/portal/page/portal/portal_sverige/
    to
    http://www.mycompany.com/sverige
Where "portal_sverige" is the page group.
    What I did was:
Configure the properties in the page group:
    Search pattern: /portal/page/portal/portal_sweden/
    Replace pattern: /sweden/
And I went to enterprise manager, MT, http server, administration, advanced server properties, httpd.conf, and put in the lines:
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^/sweden/(.*)$/portal/page/portal/portal_sweden/$1 [PT]
However, when I try to use navigator to edit a page in that group, I get:
    http://www.mycompany.com/sweden/pagename?_mode=16
    Returns:
    Object not found. (WWC-50003)
And just typing in www.mycompany.com/sweden returns 404 error instead of the root page as I would have liked.
Any ideas about what to do? I can't really find any information ... is the change made in the MT ? IM ? Do I have to do it in some specific order? Is the syntax wrong?
    Appreciate any help, thanks

    Hello Sayeeas,
I posted an answer to this question a couple months back... check out the thread
    Re: Portal URL Rewrite
    Here is the answer:
In this example the name of the page group is "www":
Our rewrite rule is also set up in a virtual host section of the httpd.conf file as well so some of the options may not be required for your set up:
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteOptions inherit
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(portal|pls|images).*$
    RewriteRule ^(.+) /portal/page/portal/www$1 [PT]
The rewrite condition allows us to ignore the rewrite for certain items in the path. This allows the portal navigator to work. There may be a couple more items that need to be added to the condition because I recently noticed that the help pages dont function properly.
In the portal configuration for the rewrite rule we specify:
    Search pattern: /portal/page/portal/www
    Replace pattern:
Thats right, the replace pattern is blank.

  • Simple question: calling URL link with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT is not working

    Hi folks,
this should be an easy question, but I have no idea why it's not working :-(.
In one of my form, I would like to place an URL link behing button.
For this purpose I'm using below code:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://www.google.com','_blank');But when above code is executed, nothing happens :-(.
Could it be because I'm using it within modal type of window?
    Thanks,
    Tomas
    I'm using Oracle Forms 10g

have you checked with using self instead of blank to see if it will replace your current page with the one you are tyring to call?
Have you got any other firefox plugins running such as Ad block? can you try disabaling all addons and even the internal pop-up blocker jus to see if this will work?
if self works but blank does not how about having the main app called from a multi frame page. one frame with the app in and the other frame with some javascript that can be called to open a new window? dont know if that will work and its late so probably not thought it thorugh fully :)
