USB 3 (uPD720202) only detects devices at boot time.

i have a HP Microserver with installed this PCI-E Card
http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B0077VC … UTF8&psc=1
the output of
lspci | grep "USB 3.0"
02:00.0 USB controller: Renesas Technology Corp. uPD720202 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 02)
my problem is similar to this https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1203515
you know how I can fix?
thanks at all
p.s sorry for by very bad english ((

I have the exact same usb controller and it seems to be very buggy in linux. The output of lsusb sometimes shows 2 usb 3.0 hubs, sometimes 1 usb 3.0 hub and often no usb 3.0 at all. Also it shows a lot of usb 1.1 controllers, but my mainboard only has usb 3.0 and 2.0. Hotplugging usb 3.0 devices works, but they only run at usb 3.0 speeds and booting with plugged devices often makes them dissapear.
I recently searched for the issue and found out flashing the usb controller firmware could possibly help.

However you have to download the driver from a third-party website and boot a dos operating system to do the firmware flash, which held me off from doing it.

Hello. I have an HP Probook 4530s laptop with an onboard USB 3 port. A device that is plugged into it before boot shows up in lsusb and can be used normally, but hotplugging a device will not work.

  • NH1005, only one device at a time connects to internet

I just switched my net to suddenlink cable (4mb/down, 512k/up) from a 756k clearwire broadband connection. I'm using the same network setup as before, all my machines set to auto-acquire IP and DNS addresses. Now though, I can only get on the internet with one device at a time, the other machines cannot find the DHCP server. I thought my NH1005 router had gone nuts, but that wasnt the case, went and got a new one at walmart and it does the same crap.. tried as well to access my router via 192.168.1.1, and even went in and tried using my gateway address to access my router.. both failed. I'm at a loss for what to do, especially seeing as how my old ISP just WORKED when i plugged it all in. Yes, i've reset my modem and all that stuff, many times, just at the end of my rope here. BTW my machines are a winXP laptop, and 2 playstation2's running Final Fantasy XI online.

hi..it seems that you have got a cable modem..and as NH1005 is a hub , only one computer can get connected at a time....
multiple computers can go online only if the hub is connected to a router...

  • Only one device at a time can access wireless

Whenever I access the wireless network at home with a laptop or iPod, it kicks my wife off of the iMac's access. Basically, only one device can use the wireless network at a time.
I'm not that comfortable with network issues, but I'm not a total noob either. It doesn't seem like this should be a problem.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Depending on your type of router & setup, read the troubleshooting manual, contact their tech support department, check your network settings through System Preferences, run the network diagnostic test if applicable.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.
If using one of Apple's routers cross-post in one of the Airport Forums.
Also, search out your type of issue in Knowledge Base.

  • Usb don't detect devices

my MBA usb port is powered (it charges devices) but don't detect any device (usb key, HD, phone ...)
    It freshly installed with lion.
    reset SMC & PRAM done.
    any idea ?
    thx

What exactly do you mean by not detecting?
In Apple Menu / About This Mac / More Info / System Report, in the left column yu=under Hardware, select USB. Are your devices listed on the right in the USB Device Tree?

  • AirPort Extreme WiFi's to only 3 devices at a time

After four+ years of pretty solid network performance at home connecting to Wide Open West, my MacBookPro reported no WiFi internet connection on my network.  Hmm. I turned off AirPort in the menu bar, then back on -- still no internet.  After rebooting the WOW modem, then rebooting the Air Port Extreme, and reentering my network Password, I got the Mac to connect.
A couple hours later, my iPhone 5s didn't connect to WiFi when I woke it up after a couple hours of sleep. Hmmm.  I turned WiFi off and back on, I Forgot the Network and tried it again, I rebooted the router -- still it wouldn't connect, so I called AppleCare.  The advisor walked me through what I had already done, then had me reenter my network name as an "Other" network.  That forced a password reentry and it connected.  Then the WiFi cutout on my old 4s that was being used to talk to AppleCare.  Along the way, he had me backup and restore my iPhone, which of course is a pain because when I went to my newer Mac with the iTunes backups for my phone, it didn't show WiFi connection.  So I reasoned that the router was "wearing out", ala would only talk to three devices at once.
Genius Bar listened to my description and agreed.  Didn't do any physical diagnosis, just offered me a Service Replacement at reduced cost vs a new router.
So my questions are, has anyone had this symptom show up, and has anyone had Apple repair their unit for this?
    Hardware/software details:
I have leased three different WOW modems from time to time, this one installed only a month ago.
Network also includes my AirPort Express with uptodate firmware used as network extender

    Hi Allison,
Just addition. Did you check if those problematic VMs can access internet at the same time? For example, can
those VMs browser any webpage successfully at the same time, not just download updates? Meanwhile, please check if there has policies on router ports to limit the number of MAC addresses per port.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • USB Port not detecting device

My usb port on the side of the pc both are not detecting any device. How to fix it?

A good place to start troubleshooting is this HP document, Troubleshooting USB Connections (Windows 7).

  • Only one device at a time.....

If my main machine is downloading an update or watching tv over the network it takes all the bandwidth stopping any other wi-fi device from connecting.  The only wi-fi connections I have in my home are
Main Machine, Printer, Wii, Another Laptop and an iPod Touch.
So for todays world I would say not that much.  I have spoken to BT Support, who do "something" but refuse to say what; which fixes it for a few days then it reverts back to normal.
I am getting sick of tired of speaking to someone who I can barely understand and just reads from a crib sheet and also sick of not being able to use more than device.
"For example I cannot play online on the wii (or watch online TV on it)  if I am watching online tv on the machine downstairs. or the laptop stops connecting if someone is watching online TV on the wii or Main Machine)
Any ideas because I never had this problem with anyone else.

    Hi Welcome to the forums
If you post the full stats from your router
For homehub – type 192.168.1.254 into your browser
Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it
Click on More Details and then post the full results.
also post the full results from http://speedtester.bt.com/
or http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9354/c/346,4740,5520 and post the results .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
also you could try the hints given by poster RogerB in this link they may help http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-in-Home/Poor-Broadband-speed/m-p/14217#M8397
Then someone here may be able to help and offer more advice.

  • Can I use Photoshop cloud on my iMac and MacBook Pro as long as I'm only using one device at a time

does a subscription allow a user to have the software on two devices as long as it is being used on only one device at a time?

    Hi jeff 5dii
Yes, you can install and activate Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers, regardless of operating system, for use by the individual associated with the membership. See the product license agreements page for more information.
    Thanks

  • Only one device connecting to the internet?

Lost power from Hurricane Sandy, internet would not come back online, replaced the cable modem, now one laptop connects to the internet but not the other computers or iPhones or iPad.  Comcast is USELESS (most polite description I have for them).
My Airport Extreme shows Excellent quality on all devices connected to it, but the Internet (brand new cable modem Motorola SB5120) shows yellow, connection: Disconnected, but does have a router address for all but one computer which is able to connect to the internet via this network.  I have restarted, rebooted, and reconfigured my network.  Why is one device able to connect but no others?  What are my troubleshooting options?
    Thank you!

Only one device (the laptop) can connect to the Internet?
    Or
Only one device at a time can connect to the Internet?
Power off the laptop that can connect
Power off the cable modem and AirPort Extreme as well
    Wait 5-10 minutes
Power up the modem first and let it run a few minutes by itself
Power up the AirPort Extreme next the same way
Power up the iPad and see if it can connect to the Internet
    Post back on your results

  • Can the hard drive from the Time Capsule be used as USB drive only?

My Time Capsule "router" kept losing the wireless capabilty, so I purchased an Airport Express (with the dual-band router).
I'd like to salvage the Time Capsule hard-drive portion and connect it to a USB port.
But when I plug-in the Time Capsule, the light blinks yellow suggesting some configuration problem.
When connecting to a USB port, my iMac will not detect a new device.
Can the Time Capsule hard-drive be used separately from the router?

Can the hard drive from the Time Capsule be used as a USB drive only?
Sorry, but no. The Time Capsule is a network drive, so it must be connected to a network using an Ethernet or wireless connection. The USB port on the Time Capsule is there only to add additional storage capacity.
Can the Time Capsule hard-drive be used separately from the router
Yes, you would configure the Time Capsule in Bridge Mode to do this. If you do not need the wireless capability, you can turn the wireless off on the Time Capsule.

  • Slow boot time Mac Osx when USB external hard drive is connected

I have bought some days ago an external hard drive, the Western Digital 500 GB Elements.
It goes very well by now but I have a problem.
When I turn on my MBP, after the "bong", I have to wait 60 second more than the normal boot time.
The screen stay grey and after 60 second it appears the apple.
It appens only when the external hdd is connected.
    Someone has a solution?

Some time ago, I read that the OS has a problem waking from sleep or booting if an external was attached (USB or Firewire), something about it being confused about the startup order. Anyway, since then, I have religiously followed this procedure when I'm done using the external: unmount, unplug, and then turn it off (if necessary). I have never experienced a problem with my Mac not recognizing or not being able to boot because of an external. It certainly doesn't involve more than a second or two to unplug a USB drive.

  • No USB device in boot oder

    Hi Guys,
I have IdeaPad E10-30 with FreeDos preinstalled on it.
I am trying to install Windows 8.1 64bit from USB device but had no results.
    - I tried to do like described here http://support.lenovo.com/ua/uk/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-e-series- laptops/lenovo-e10-30/documents/HT078684?tabName=Solutions
    - Tried to create boot USB by just copying ISO content
    - Tried to create bootable USB with Rufus
The main problem I see here is that in BIOS USB drive is not showed in boot prioroty order list at all, EFI Network 0 for IPv4 only.
Could you, please help me with that ?

I have the same problem with a y50 uhd touch system. Enbling usb boot in the bios does not cause the usb boot option to appear in the boot menu. I think this is either a basic flaw or something a BIOS updat could fix.

  • "Your bootable USB drive could not be created" "Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation."

I try to install windows7 system on my macbook air, which version is 10.8.5. When I open the bootcamp, it let me to choose a windows ISO image, which I've already downloaded from this website: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325 /, it also asked me to select a USB drive, which is kingston that has 8GB. Then when I clicked "continue", it said that "Your bootable USB drive could not be created" "Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation." But actually the ISO image I downloaded is 64-bit windows7. I don't know why this would happen. Could someone help me please!!

    Thanks for your feedbakc Kiranjj!
I identified the reason to be that the W8 installation file didn't download completely from a Mac OS-device. I downloaded from another Win-device and the moved the installation file with a USB-stick and then everything worked diectly! But thanks anyway.

  • Device driver package /  loading device driver at the boot time

I have finished writing device driver. Now I have to make a package
for it and I dont know how to write files in package format.
Maybe there is another way to support to user installation tools.
I need my driver to be loaded every time boot is done at the boot time.
Is there any way to do this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I have ntfs-3g installed. But although I edited fstab as you said, it couldn't mount the drive automatically.
I guess this problem is not caused by ntfs. Because it happens to ext4 and fat too.
And I found that the partition had been overwritten.
