Use Mac to download/burn security patches for windows xp machine?

Hi, I'm trying to migrate from windows xp to Mac mini. The xp machine is infected with something nasty (phones home whenever I connect), so I won't take it online, but want to get latest security updates.
Can I use the Mac to do this? i.e., if I download security patches from microsoft onto the Mac, burn them to CD, will they be readable on the XP machine?
The only OS on the Mac is OS X (10.4.8).

Sure. A file is a file is a file, and OS X burns CDs by default as ISO 9660, which is also readable by Windows. I've downloaded files on Macs, burned them to CD and opened them on Windows (and vice versa) countless times. Although nowadays I mostly use my USB keychain.

If Software Update was not installed during your QuickTime Player install you'll need to uninstall it, re-install and include Software Update software.

For iPad, the highest supported os for iOS 6 is v6.1.3. If you want to get the security patch, you'll have to go to iOS 7.0.6.

Having a similar issue with my MacBook Pro w/Retina 2012.
I did the reinstall my self and incrementally did the updates by downloading them from Apple's website instead of using the App Store.
I found that the problem occured after updating to OS X 10.9.3.
The issue is in a 4k resolution update for mirroring displays. Not that you should be doing that from an iMac but your packaged update may have been similar even though the update was meant for 2013 MacBook Pro's.
You can try reseting the Nvram chip during boot up by pressing "Option + P + R" keys. You may have to do this after entering your password to log in if you have that set up on your computer. However this only works on certain models of Mac hardware and may not do anything at all.
After you get your second opinion from Apple, if they again confirm it's a software issue, then you should reinstall OS X Mavericks and download updates from the website instead of the app store. This way you control your updates. You will find the OS X 10.9.2 update as well as a seperate security update prior to the released update of the dreaded OS X 10.9.3
Again if you don't want the issue to occur again, then hold off on updating to OS X 10.9.3, but be cautioned that you do so at the risk of leaving your computer less secured even though it will seem to run better.

Probably not for the recent problem because the code error didn't show up until iOS 6. Since the original iPad cannot run iOS any later than 5.1.1 there is no need for an update in this instance.

I need to manually approve all the security patches for 2008 R2 SP1 & Windows 7 SP1 on WSUS server.
From what effective date should I approve the patches? I believe there is no need to approve pre-SP1 patches.

Service pack are cumulative. There is a list of updates that SP contains. I let important updates intstall automatically. (MS recommends testing updates.)

Is the oracle CPU patchs released separately for windows platform (like how they release it for UNIX flavours ).... or is it only Bundle patches for windows . I did some metalink search and google search and my understaing is there is no CPU patches for windows ... we may need to use only Bundle patches for windows platfrom . Yes you can but you need to partition the drive into at least 2 separate drives.
To do that you need to use a Windows PC to do the first partitioning. Say you split the drive into two partitions each 1TB (or close to 1TB) each.
Partition fand format both partitions on a Win PC as one NTFS and the other FAT32.
Then move it to the Mac and Reformat the FAT32 partition Mac Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Table.
I have that same drive and that is what I did originally with it. I now have it just for the Mac as I have other externals for the Win systems.

That would give you Boot Camp 3.0 drivers. With Snow Leopard and Boot Camp 3.0 you can install Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. With Lion and Boot Camp 4.0 you can only install Windows 7. If you install Lion with Boot Camp 3 and XP or Vista already on it it will work.

Does this also happen when you open Reader by itself? If not, can you try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Difficulty installing Rescue and Recovery 4.2 patch for Windows Vista

Which between System Update Installation History and Post-Installation Status Report should I believe, when they tell a different story?
When I run thinkVantage System Update, the post-intallation status report indicates that the following fails to install:
* Rescue and Recovery 4.2 patch for Windows Vista
* ThinkVantage Client Security Solution for Vista SP1
* Lenovo Wireless WAN Activation Patch
However, when I open the ThinkVantage System Update History Log, I read that the above updates have been installed.
Which one should I believe?
I'm willing to believe that the update has been installed, but whenever I run System Update, I keep getting the same message that the above three need to be installed.
Should I keep ignoring the message? If not, what else could I try?
I have a T60 running Vista with SP1 installed.
