Use Navigation Node Title of Term Store in a Content Search webpart

Hi,
Do you have an idea on how to use the Navigation Node Title of a Term in Term Store to a Content Search webpart? I can now get the value of the Term itself, but I need is the Navigation Node Title of that term. I'm using managed properties. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Napster

Take a look at this article that explains all the variables available while writitng search queries.  There is a whole section on managed metadata navigation terms.

    Compare the strengths and limitations of the Web Parts
    It’s important that you understand the strengths and limitations of the two Web Parts because if you choose the wrong one, your site could run into performance problems. You can use both Web Parts to show content that is based on a query. In a simplified
    world, here’s how you can decide between the two:
    Use the CQWP when you have a limited amount of content, your query is simple, and you don’t expect your content to grow much in the future.
    Use the CSWP in all other scenarios when you want to show content that is based on a query.

  • To search only images in a particular folder of picture library using content search webpart.

    I have Images library where i am storing images in different folders.I need my content search webpart to search and display images in a particular folder in Images Library.For ex: i need to if my Picture Library Name is 'Images' a folder inside that is
    'Travel' which is having some images.I need my content search webpart to pick images from 'Travel' folder only.Any pointers to this will be helpful.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to search images in a particular folder via content search web part.
    When we use the search crawl the items in the images library, it crawls the items and folder with the following URL.
    For folder: http://sp13/PublishingImages/Folder1.
    For Items:
    http://sp13/PublishingImages/Forms/DispForm.aspx?ID=itemID
    It not crawls the items as the path
    http://sp13/PublishingImages/Folder1/Item, then we could not use this path to retrieve the items in the folder.
    As a workaround, we can create a custom field in the image library, such as a choice type field named
    Folders(it contains the folder names), when we create a image, we set the folder name in this field.
    Note: we should new a managed property manually to match the Crawled property.
    Then we can use this field to filter the items in a particular folder as below, it works like a charm in  my environment.
    path:"http://sp13/PublishingImages"   Folders=Folder1

  • How to display Column of a particular list to page using Content Search Webpart?

    Hi,
    I am having two columns 'Column1 & Column2' in a list names Demo. I need to display the items of both the columns into a page with the help of Content Search Webpart. I am using SharePoint 2013 Platform.
    Expecting some useful comments on the same...!!

    Hi,
    If you just want to display two columns of a list, Content Query Web Part will be more appropriate:

  • Metadata term store update

    I have some sites and documents that uses various items from the Term Store
    Nov I've changed some of the terms - e.g... Contoso to Contosi - but this is not reflecting on the documents/sites..
    It only shows a red contoso when I open the document
    the Taxonomy Update scheduler runs hourly ...
    how can I force an update so the contosi is seen on the documents/sites?

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to update the changed terms used in the documents or sites.
    I recommend to run the Taxonomy Update Scheduler timer job now to update the terms.
    Click Run Now button in the Taxonomy Update Scheduler timer job associated with the corresponding web application in Central Administration, then the terms will be updated.
    Thanks

  • How can I change the order of menu items using Term Store Navigation?

    A cool new feature in SharePoint 2013 is term store navigation. However SharePoint seems to be ordering my terms (menu tabs) alphabetically. This is not a desired action.
    I tried to enter the terms in the order I wanted them to appear (IE - Home, About, Contact etc. ) but my menus are still sorted by alpha (About, Contact, Home). I have tried to change the order using the interface but it doesn't seem to work.
    Any suggestions on how to obtain the desired effect?  If there is no workaround this feature is practically useless.

    Never mind, I just found the custom sort tab hidden away!

  • What is the use of custom properties for terms in term store management of SharePoint 2013

    Hi All,
    Can some one pls explain what is the purpose of custom properties for terms in term store management tool of SharePoint 2013.
    In general, for each term we have shared and local properties. What is the real purpose in terms of SharePoint development.
    Please share with possible scenarios. Does it refer's to a hierarchical metadata in SharePoint ?
    Thanks keshav,Share point Developer

    The custom properties for terms allow you to further define or clarify a term via the properties. You can then display these properties in search results or specify query rules that look for specific custom properties.
    Here is an example of how to create a query rule using custom properties:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/a8b53ffe-869e-4c86-8c43-d239370ee7d5/custom-properties-of-the-managed-metadata-service?forum=sharepointgeneral
    Here is an example that uses code to verify that a custom property exists on a term object that is pinned to another term object:

  • How to check whether a user has permission to create term in Taxonomy Term Store using CSOM ?

    I want to check programmatically whether the current user is a Term Store Administrator or not.

    I am not sure how Tomcat handles this, but you need to use two-way (mutual authentication) request but not enforce SSL between Tomcat and the client browser. This will make the browser prompt the user for the cert they want to send. Then you'll need to tackle the other part of your problem, getting the correct content displayed depending on whether the user sent a cert or not. I'm even less help there than I was on the first part of your question.
    So, yeah - good luck with that

  • Using term store in search refiners

    Hi everyone,
    Is it possible to have search refiners in SP2013 Online point to a taxonomy stored in the Term Store? If so, can anybody recommend some good articles that explain how I can achieve this?
    Thanks very much in advance!
    Alex

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use term store in search refiners.
    You can use managed metadata columns as refiners.
    Here is a great article for your reference:

  • Use of Presentation Variables in Navigated Report Title

    Hi All,
    It's regarding the presentation variable in report title. I have value interaction to another report based on Prompted values. But when we click on the value it will go to another report page and giving the results, but the title view is not changing as per the requested value. The title should change dynamically, but it is showing the P.Variables in place of prompted value.
    Below are the ways i have used the P.Variables:
    @{brand1} at @{customer}, @{sensitivity}% Sensitivity
    @{brand1}{'Prod'} at @{customer}{'CVS'}, @{sensitivity}{'15'}% Sensitivity -----(default values here)
    Version : OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0
    Could you provide me the solution for this issue.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi,
    You can use the presentation variable when you are passing the value from the prompt and filtering after
    clicking on the 'GO' or 'APPLY' button. So that assigns one value and is passed in the report in the
    page used.
    What you need to do is you need to have the 'is prompted' for the column used in the title
    or you can make the column is equal to @{pres_var}.
    But still if you dont use the columns in the report and you dont want to filter the report with the title columns
    then you can use narrative view with all the columns used in the title and have 'is prompted' and make its formatting similar to title view and save as a separate report
    And place the narrative view above the report

  • Term Store - Terms with links in a list

    Hello,
    I have created a taxonomy within the term store.  Some of these terms have navigation links on them (Simple Link or Header).  In my custom
    list I have added custom columns which are managed metadata fields.  I can successfully search for my terms and add them to my list.  However these terms do not offer a hyperlink to the page that I defined in the term store for that particular term.
    Does SP not allow the term links to be displayed within a list as a hyperlink?  Do the links only work within the Navigation hierarchy (I know
    how to turn this on for a list)?  Is there an alternative I can use to set up embedded links within the list that I don't have to define each time, thus my want to use the term store as each term can have a static URL against it.
    My current work-around is to combine the 3 list’s columns into the default 'Pages' library to be able to use the link against the name field.  However
    there are 35+ custom columns that need to be added and the number of custom views may become unmanageable.
    I appreciate any advice that may help my cause.
    Kind regards,
    Saavan.

    Hi Adam,
    SharePoint is supported to grant the permission on list item level.
    Then when groupA has permission on all list items, the users contained in groupA will see all items.
    When groupB has permission on only two items of the four, then suers contained in groupB will only see two items which they have permissions on.
    For your requirement, you can go to prompted links list, then break the permission for the particular two items, and then remove the groups you don't want them to access these two items, then check results again.

  • How to navigate to a specific part of a page using Navigation Model

    Hi....
    I need to navigate to a specific part of the page using navigation models.
    When I click on a link it should navigate to a div in the middle of the page instead of showing page from starting.
    How to achieve this using webcenter navigation models?
    Thanks.

    Hi All,
    Even I have the same requirement in my project.
    I need to navigate to a specific part of a page instead to the top of page using navigation models.
    I have a navigation model with name aboutUsNavigation.xml which have 5 links(About Us, Contact Us, Carrers, ...).
    I have used the adf tree Component to show the links.
    <af:tree id="about" var="node" initiallyExpanded="false" summary="AboutUs" value="#navigationContext.navigationMode
    l['modelPath=/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/navigations/aboutUsNavigation'].treeModel['includeStartNode=false']}" >
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandImageLink id="cil2" text="#{node.title}"
    actionListener="#{navigationContext.processAction}"
    action="pprnav"
    icon="#{node.attributes[pageFlowScope.tnBean.iconKey]}"
    disabled="#{not node.navigable}"
    inlineStyle="#{node.onSelectedPath ? 'font-weight:bold;' : ''}">
    <f:attribute name="node" value="#{node}"/>
    </af:commandImageLink>
    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    All the 5 links should navigate to the about.jspx. but each to a part of the page. how to achieve this?_
    Thanks..
