Use net to control design in labview

hi.
i want to implement an idea in labview and is given below:
i would design a circuit in labview and want to control it through the internet. Like if i am running a simulation and an error occurs, i can see that error from anywhere by opening a specific website on the internet and correcting it at that website and it gets correct in my design. I will be running my design on a computer which is connected 24 hours to the internet. I want to design a website which will show all of this. is this possible? any tools in labview for it?

Hello ktq,
There are a couple ways you can control a VI front panel. The best way is through web publishing, How do I publish my VI to a web page? You need to be sure about firewall permissions and issues on both ends. Also check out our Internet Toolkit, here. Are you hoping to do this on a network? Depending on what your application is, you can also run network streaming queues through ethernet: High-speed data streaming: Programming and Benchmarks. Please let me know if you have any questions, good luck with your application!

  • How to design a query without using Net Weaver Query Designer

Does anyone know if any alternative way to <b>design an query without using Net weaver GUI</b>? in order to reduce the time consuming, I am wondering if there have any method which can define/modify a stack of cells, characteristics and structures without work through the GUI.
Deeply thank for any of your advices.

    Can you give an example?
Just from what you write, I would assume that you talk about something like a mass-property-changer. As far as I know the BEx this is not really possible, but what I do normally is building one query and then either using query-views (saving more or less the navigation state) or by copying and changing the properties of the few characteristics and key figures.
But without a specific example it's difficult to exactly understand what you exactly need.

  • How to use ELMO motion control device with LABVIEW

    Hi,
    I am
new to LabVIEW withvery little controls
experience (just now graduated).  I need to use LabVIEW, NI USB 6009( DAQ)
and a Harmonica servo drive from Elmo to control a voice coil.  . What I
am looking for is some general guidance to get me started; point me in
the correct direction so I can get rolling.  I will be using a RS-232
line between the Harmonica and the PC.
I have generated a sine waveform to the NI USB 6009 from LABVIEW. I have to send this signal through the ELMO Harmonica 5/60 N to control a voice coil. I have
been reading the Elmo SimpleIQ Software Manual and am  lost Kindly help me out.
    Regards,
    Pawan
The software manual states using Interpreter Language or User
Programming Language.  Both of the languages seem to resemble what I
remember of C++, sort of.  The document explains "while" and "for"
loops, etc.; however, my understanding is that I should be able to use
LabVIEW to accomplish such tasks and then just ask LabVIEW to output a
command to the Bassoon to control my voice coil.  My best guess is that
I use the "System Commands" to output commands to the Bassoon although
the software manual also mentions compiling code similar to that of
    standard programming modes.
    Please help me out.

  • Adding Proportional control using NI LabView Control Design Toolkit

I was just wondering is it possible to add a proportional control to your program using the NI Control design toolkit? There is a PID control fuction available, but i just want the P
    Thanks

    LC87,
A proprotional controller is equivalent to a multiply, so you could just create a transfer function with Numerator=[Kp] and Denominator=[1].  You could also use the CD Create PID Model (Parallel) with zero wired to the Integral Gain (Ki) and Derivative Gain (Kd).  If you are going to implement this in a Simulation Loop, then all you need to do is use a multiply primitive.

  • Workflow for control design assessment

    Hello Experts,
By using the planner "Control Design Assessment", we are able to send workflow to control owner.
But when we try to send the same workflow to more than one user (by assigning more than one control owners for the same control), all the assigned control owners are getting the workflow, however when any one of them responds to the workflow and submits it, the workflow received by the other control owners is getting closed without them responding to it.
So, is there any configuration setting whereby all the control owners should respond to the workflow?
    Regards,

    Dear Ramakrishna,
change the task settings of this path to "All Approvers" instead of "Any one of Approvers".
This should actually fix your problem and all approvers have to approve.

  • Problem using PID toolkit and control design toolkit to design the closed loop system. (for DC motor closed loop)

Hi, i have facing some problem during i upgrade a project. This project is an opened loop system, it only achieved up to controlling the speed of motor, detecting the speed of motor, and switching the direction of motor while controlling the motor (This motor is a 12 VDC motor).
In order to improve the project, closed-loop dc motor control system will be implemented to correct the error of the motor's speed and maintaining the speed for the initial setting. I would like to use PID control method to do the closed loop system.

  • LabVIEW Control Design can't multiply an improper TF with a proper TF

I'm calculating a dynamic inversion where I need to multiply two transfer functions,
    H = inv(G1)*G2.
All transfer functions G1 G2 and H are proper. However, inv(G1) is improper. Even though the resulting H is proper LabVIEW's Control Design tool fails to perform the multiplication complaining that one of the systems is improper. Works fine in Matlab.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I'm not using DAQmx, but doing it manually. I'm a beginner at this and am really stuck.
I've attached my basic file to the post so you can have a little look, and a screenshot as you may not be able to open some parts of the file due to my non-popular DAQ board. Please note that the DA value is not required, as I'm using the control ouput instead of this, and that the chart has now been modified to show error vs controlk output.
If I could get some help, I'd be extremely grateful.

  • Using IMAQ Image controls in LabVIEW steps

    Hi guys
So far, I was using TestStand 4.0 together with LabVIEW 8.5 and Vision Development Module 8.5 with no problems. Recently, I've updated to LV 8.6 and VDM 8.6. I've started to experience weird problems when using LabVIEW steps with inputs/outputs containing IMAQ Image controls. When I try to click on such a step in seq editor, or try to insert a new step into the sequence, the step initialization takes a very long time (tens of seconds) or freezes completely. I've also tried to upgrade TS to version 4.1, but no difference. Also, my colleague experiences very similar symptoms on the same software setup. The only difference is that on his machine, it takes only a few seconds when you click on the vision step. However, the steps not containing an IMAQ Image control behave normally, i.e. you can't experience any "initialization time" when clicking on them in the sequence.
To illustrate, I'm attaching a simple VI containing nothing more that a single IMAQ Image control. If you don't link it to the connector pane, the VI works fine when inserted as a TS step. If the IMAQ Image control is linked to the connector pane, TS freezes when inserting such a step.

    Hello Vladimir,
Thank you for posting on the NI Discussion Forums. This was reported to R&D (#123249) for further investigation. The only workaround I can offer for now is to work with the VIs from version 8.5 of LabVIEW if they have vision controls linked to the connector pane. Thanks for the feedback!

  • How to create a feedback control system in labview with an integration block?

    Hallo,
I design a model of a simple mechanic system composed by one damper, one mass and one spring.
I would simulate a free response of this mechanic system, but I don't be able to integrate the mechanic state in Labview.
Seeming that the integration block in LabView produce a wrong answer.
I've attached this model create in Labview 8.2.1.

    Michele,
First of all, when you are trying to develop a Dynamic Simulation, I strongly recommend that you use the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/203826), or, for LabVIEW 8.2.1, the LabVIEW Simulation Module. They allow you to develop your dynamic simulation natively in LabVIEW, specially in the case that you have feedback loop in your code (which is your case).
Now, looking at your program, I have several recommendations that would help you to better control your simulation. First, avoid using the Dynamic Datatype (Blue wire) in you simulation. For example, you are generating a Waveform inside the loop and you are just getting one element of the first batch. Probably, you want to generate only one element per iteration of the while loop and apply that to your equation. If that is the case, you should remove the "Simulation Signal" express VI and use the Point-by-point VI (located at Signal Processing Pallette). There you can also find an integration VI that allow you to define the sampling time for your application.
Also, the feedback node that you are using will introduce one sampling time to your simulation, which mean that, if your simulation and equations are not correctly setup to take that into account, your simulation will be incorrect. If you were using the Simulation Module, it would take care for your to do the correct integration, additional to allow using different solvers (like RK 4-5) to reduce the error on the integration.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

The problem is that you are assuming that LabVIEW executes left to right. Dataflow doesn't work this way. Your code as this:
does not tell LabVIEW that it has to execute everything from left to right. What is happening is that he is executing the 3 'island' of code in parallel and, in this case, it will have 'empty' values. You have to remove the local variables to make this work and dataflow paradigm will execute your code from left to right, as you want. here is the code:
Also, one more thing. Your input to the "CD Linear Simulation" is all zero. That means that you are trying to input zero input to a linear system, which will give you a zero output to the response. You probably do not want that since zero as input doesn't give you any more information. If you want to see how to system goes to zero after initial conditions, you should use "CD Initial Response". Or you should modify the input signal to the system. Please study this shipping example to understand how to use Linear Simulation and Initial Response:

  • Control design and simulation module

    Hi,
I am new to Labview and i am trying to work on Control System design. I have downloaded and installed the Evaluation Module of Control Design and Simulation Module. The problem I am facing witht this is its not showing any control fuctions in functions Palette. While installing it said its installing only control design and simulation assistant. Please, can anyone help with this.
I am actually looking at this module to implement Sliding mode control for non linear systems. I would like to know if there are any examples to implement this??
    Thank You.

    Hello
The problem is the following. The version of LabVIEW that you are using does not match the version of the evaluation version of LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module (CD&SIM). If that happens, the installer will not select the support files for your LabVIEW. If you download LabVIEW 2011, then you must install CD&SIM 2011.
Now, the module in the current version does not have an example with sliding mode control. But using this module, you can easily implement the algorithms and simulation its result using the Control and Simulation Loop.
    Hope this helps.
