Use of ClassLoader for resolve incompatible dependencies ?

Hi,
I'm relatively new to Java but I have a problem that I think need some expertise I dont have yet. I'm developing a module in an application that uses an API from a third party. My module and the application that contains it depend on commons-httpclient-3.1 but the third party API depends on commons-httpclient-2.0.2. The third party API cannot be updated to be compatible with the last version. I've been looking around and found ClassLoader may help me, but I'm not familiar with its use.
What I assume is that I can have a class in my code where all access to the third party API will be done and this class and all other classes from the API will be loaded with a class loader that will have a complete set of jars dependencies (including httpclient-2.0.2) so the main application and this "module" will not interfere each other and have their dependencies solved in the proper way. I'm in the correct path to solve my problem ? Does anybody have any ideas to help me ?
Thanks in advance,
Regards, Dismer

This is the code I implemented to solve my problem. I created the third_party_stub.jar where I have a class that make all calls to third_party.jar
Hope it will be useful to someone.
Any comments are very welcome !

  • Complie time using custom classloader for decryption.

    I need to decrypt several class during compile time, but my custom classloader could load everything except my encrypted classes.
    Here is my sample code and how I test it.
    Test.java:
    public class Test {
         public Test(){
              System.out.println("test");
         public void hello(){
              System.out.println("hello");
    Test1.java
    public class Test1 extends java.lang.Test{
         public Test1(){
              System.out.println("test1");
         public static void main(String[] args){
              new Test1().hello();
    #EncryptedClassLoader will print out the class name it trying to load, for example: "load class: java.lang.System"
    1. Compile Test.java file and have it encrypted, make it into a jar file - test.jar.
    2. Compile Test1.java file and try to run Test1.class with encrypted Test.class file using :
    C:\lib>java -Djava.system.class.loader=EncryptedClassLoader -classpath c:\lib;c:\lib\tools.jar;c:\lib\test.jar Test1
    Gives the output:
    load class: java.lang.System
    load class: java.nio.charset.Charset
    load class: java.lang.String
    load class: Test1
    load class: Test
    load class: sun.security.provider.Sun
    load class: sun.security.rsa.SunRsaSign
    load class: com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider
    load class: com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE
    load class: java.lang.Object
    load class: java.io.PrintStream
    test
    test1
    hello
    So now I'm sure there's no problem with my EncryptedClassLoader
    3. Try to compile Test1.java with the encrypted Test.class in test.jar(These's no Test.java file in the same folder) by using:
    C:\lib>javac -J-Djava.system.class.loader=EncryptedClassLoader -J-classpath -J.;c:\lib;c:\lib\tools.jar;c:\lib\test.jar Test1.java
    Give the output:
    .............. (loading several system classes)
    load class: com.sun.tools.javac.util.Position
    Test1.java:4: cannot find symbol
    symbol: class Test
    public class Test1 extends Test{

    Test1.java:12: cannot find symbol
    symbol : method hello()
    location: class Test1
    new Test1().hello();
    ^
    2 errors
    ---> from the output I found that Test.class never visited/loaded by my EncryptedClassLoader
    Though I set EncryptedClassLoader as the default system classloader but it seems to load everything except my encrypted class.
    Does anyone know why it works like this??
    Thank you in advanced,
    Alex.

    I don't know why he was specifying the javac classpath like that instead of using javac's -classpath option.
    But this whole business of decrypting class loades is pretty much a waste of time. It adds a layer of comfort but it's not really what I would call secure. At some point the unencrypted bytes have to appear in memory and from that point the classes are no longer secure.
    The best protection against software piracy is not anti-decompilation techniques but time-to-market and pricing your product so that buying it is cheaper than reverse-engineering it.

  • The struggle of creating a Custom ClassLoader for Native libraries

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm having a really hard time writing and using my own ClassLoader in a Java Applet.
    Context :
    As the this link shows - http://codethesis.com/tutorial.php?id=1 - loading and especially unloading native libraries through Java requires defining our own ClassLoader, and use it to instantiate a class loading a library. When the class using native libraries has finished execution, setting all references to the classloader and calling the garbage collector will cause the native library to be unloaded. The class to load within the custom classloader is thus read byte after byte from the jar and defined using the Classloader.defineClass(..) function. So that's what I did. But I've got two problems.
    Problem 1 :
    On one single machine over 15 tested, the magic number of a given class read from the Jar using Applet.class.getResourceAsStream(classname) takes a value different from CAFEBABE and the defineClass function then throws an "Incompatible magic value" exception (see below). The workaround I found is to force the first 4 bytes of the byte array read from the class with CAFEBABE. But I still would like to understand why it takes a different value on this machine.
    Exception in thread "thread applet-MyApplet.class-1" java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value 409165630 in class file Reader
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(Unknown Source)
    at NativeClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
    Problem 2 :
    On windows, the NativeClassLoader works perfectly, but on Linux, I'm getting a java.lang.VerifyError (see below).
    Code is compiled with java 1.6.0_06 on windows XP. I tried to remove everything related to native code (remove .so load), the same error is raised.

  • Avenues for resolving problems?

    I have been having problems with my MAC Pro Tower since last August. Actually the same problem. I have 6 case numbers, and have been using the last one since the beginning of February so that it isn't construed that I am having new problems. Just the same problem, over and over.
    My machine becomes unresponsive, and I have to shut down with the power button.
    I run Disk Utility and get the errors:
    1. Invalid volume file count
    2. Invalid Volume directory count
    3. The Volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.
    4. I also get the Drive Genius Drive Pulse Drive Integrity Warning "The Macintosh HD volume contains errors. The volume should be repaired as soon as possible."
    I have lost count how many times this has happened, but the problem keeps coming back. When it happens I lose data.
    The only way I can repair it is to shut down the computer and restart it with my Snow Leopard Disk and use the Disk Utility on that disk to repair the computer. This lasts for a while, sometimes a week or so, or sometime will happen a couple of times in a given day.
    Based on the recommendations of the folks at Apple
    I have had two hard drives replaced.
    I have removed software from my MAC that I know other people are using, because there was a possibility that it was incompatible.
    I have re-installed my operating system.
    I have deleted and formatted the HD and re-installed my software.
    I have stopped using a HUB for some of my devices because there are possible conflicts, although, again, I know other MAC users that use them without problems.
    I have been told that my Logitech wireless devices could be part of my problem, but, once more I know of several people that are using them on their MACs, without issue.
    I really want to resolve this issue.
    Everybody that I have spoken to has been very courteous and professional. I am not what could be called a computer "GEEK" but it would seem to me that if a problem such as this is occurring with me, it must have happened to others, and I would like to find out how it was resolved. 6 months seems to be an awful long time.
    Is there anybody out there that has had the same thing happen? If so, how did you finally get it taken care of?
    Thank you.
    I have switched my Super Drives

    RAM test positives (Errors found) are accurate, and the problem never gets better.
    RAM test negatives (No fault found) are, at best inconclusive.
    Your Mac Pro has Error Correction Code (ECC) RAM. Each module contains extra bits that provide enough redundancy information to determine, when an error has occurred, which single bit is in error, and the processor has circuitry to correct those single-bit errors on the fly. It also provides double-bit error detection, A double-bit error is supposed to cause a kernel panic, but in the unlikely event that an error (or multiple errors) occurred in the section of RAM that handles the error, it could not report the error.
    Apple System Profiler > Memory will tell you whether ECC is turned on (it should always be) and give you the status of each module. If any corrected errors have occurred, they will be shown as a count for each module rather than the expected "OK". More than a handful of errors a month is troubling, and leaves you exposed to the possibility of a double-bit error.
    One other tool for tracking down suspicious memory-related problems is to rotate the memories -- slide each module down one socket and bring the end one around to the beginning. be sure you do this consistently, and write down the positions before and after and the direction you moved them. Sometimes this changes the symptoms enough to track down the problem, but the evidence may be very slim, so any notes can help.

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Error while using Noetix Generator for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8

    Hi Gurus,
    We are trying to implement Noetix views for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8 using Noetix generator for oracle business intelligence,, but we are facing below error..
    Please help, thanks in advance.
    " *Validation encountered following warnings..*
    *Could not verify server version. Double check that your server version matches the target specified.*
    *Cause: access denied for user to path /system/version*. "

    Hi,
    I'm the Director of Engineering at Noetix that is responsible for Noetix Generator for OBIEE.
    Noetix Generator utilizes OBI's web services in order to validate that your OBI admin client and server have matching versions. The validation error you're seeing appears to be caused by a permission issue while accessing the "/system/version" folder of your web catalog through that web service.
    One thing you could check is the OBI account you're using in Noetix Generator to access the BI Server. That account should have administrative privileges in OBI.
    I also noticed that you're attempting to use OBI 11.1.1.6.8, which we don't currently support. Your existing version of Noetix Generator may work with it, but we won't claim official support until we certify our generator against it. That will come in a future release.
    Please contact Noetix Support at http://support.noetix.com if you need additional information. Our support staff can assist you in resolving this issue.
    Thanks,

    You probably need to recalibrate the battery. See link below.
    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
    Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
    How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
    At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. I find it easier to create a view on the remote object then use that in selects.
    e.g,
    Link Name = MyLink
    Object_name = Addr_Loc
    create or replace VIEW Rem_Addr_Loc AS
    select * from addr_loc@mylink;
    In the code I then use the view
    begin
      for C_Rec in (select * from Rem_Addr_loc)
      loop
         dbms_output.put_line('Rec: '|| C_Rec.Col1);
      end loop;
    end;

    Thanks for the welcome and the reply!
    I looked at KB25882 and my settings are good, so that didn't help.
    I had this problem over a year ago, and someone at RIM found a bit set that shouldn't have been set and fixed it (that is my terminology for what happened).
    I am really looking for a way to contact RIM directly.  I hate going through the mill with my carrier to get it escalated to RIM for resolution......  <sigh>
    Hi mgpainter
                                Most easiest way to Contact RIM is through your Carrier but as you don't prefer that than there is another way of support called Incident Based Support but just want to inform you that its not free.If you want have a try  BlackBerry Incident Based Support .
    Good Luck

  • Unable to use RAS SDK for server-side printing for XI 3.1

    Hi all,
    I am using RAS SDK for server-side printing.  Here are my codes:
    ISessionMgr sessionMgr = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr();
    IEnterpriseSession enterpriseSession = sessionMgr.logon("Administrator", "", "cdi5boe", "secEnterprise");
    IInfoStore iStore = (IInfoStore) enterpriseSession.getService("InfoStore");
    //out.println("Current User is = " + enterpriseSession.getUserInfo().getUserName());
    //out.println ("<br>");
    IInfoObjects infoObjects = iStore.query("SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_Kind='CrystalReport' AND SI_NAME = 'Sales Print'");
    IInfoObject infoObject = (IInfoObject)infoObjects.get(0);
    IReportAppFactory reportAppFactory = (IReportAppFactory) enterpriseSession.getService("RASReportFactory");
    ReportClientDocument rcd = new ReportClientDocument();
    rcd = reportAppFactory.openDocument(infoObject,0, java.util.Locale.US);
    //Create print options to use when printing.
    PrintReportOptions printOptions = new PrintReportOptions();
    printOptions.setPrinterName("
    cdi5boe
    HPLaserJ");
    printOptions.setJobTitle("Test Printer Job");
    printOptions.setPrinterDuplex(PrinterDuplex.horizontal);
    printOptions.setPaperSource(PaperSource.auto);
    printOptions.setPaperSize(PaperSize.paperLetter);
    printOptions.setNumberOfCopies(1);
    printOptions.setCollated(false);
    PrintReportOptions.PageRange printPageRange = new PrintReportOptions.PageRange(1,1);
    printOptions.addPrinterPageRange(printPageRange);
    //Print report.
    rcd.getPrintOutputController().printReport(printOptions);
    When I run the report, I got the following errors:
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKPrinterException: com.businessobjects.crystalreports.printer.bean.ReportPrinter---- Error code:-2147215357 Error code name:internal
    I consult the Diamond Technical Community and I found the issue related to printer name:
    https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/498
    However, I did check the printer name, it is accessible via Windows Explorer.
    Anyone knows how to resolve this?
    Regards,
    Derek

    It doesn't appear to be listed as a dependency in the developer docs, but would you try putting the ReportPrinter.jar in your RAS app?
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Use custom field for work phone number in CUCiLync

    Hi,
    I have searched and tried out all sorts of different settings for enabling/changing the way CUCiLync searches the Active Directory (AD) for contact phone numbers.
    But no matter what setting I use in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData and/or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory hive, CUCiLync still uses the default for Work phone number. The default for this is to use telephoneNumber, the value that I wish to use is the ipPhone field.
    The registry values that I have tested so far are these.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData
    LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
    LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
    All set to ipPhone, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory
    BusinessPhone
    PreferredNumber
    DisableSecondaryNumberLookups
    First two set to ipPhone and the third set to 0, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains  the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
    The above values comes from these two urls,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/8_5/english/installguide/config_active_directory.html#wp1141403
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/8_5/english/installguide/config_active_directory.html#wp1137551
    The later url have this
    Table 3-9 LDAP Registry Subkeys
    Subkey   Names
    Description
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
    Specify   the phone number that you use to resolve most LDAP queries. This value must   match one of the values specified for the following LDAP keys:
    •LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_homePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_mobilePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
    The   values that are valid for the LDAP attribute keys listed above are:
    •telephoneNumber
    •homePhone
    •mobilePhone
    •otherTelephone
    •a   custom LDAP attribute value, for example, myCustomPhoneNumber
    The   value of the LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches key must match   one of the values in the list above, for example, telephoneNumber. Otherwise,   the value of the LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone key is used.
    The version of CUCiLync is 8.5(3)-4.5.9, that is the latest I can find on the support download page, have also tried with earlier version 8.5.(1).
    Does anyone have any suggestions for how to achieve this, if at all possible?
    Roger Kallberg

    This is the reply we got from TAC.
    Regarding to your query, Can you please go through the attached flow diagram (also you can see it in the link given below). I hope it will clarify more on the telephone number display behavior in office communicator.
    As per this flow chart presently your setup is working as designed. As per the design, the number should be in E.164 format in order to be available in MOC.
    You have AD in your network as a source, so  OCS pulls this information from LDAP it is integrated with. As per Microsoft, here you need to add Normalization rules to OCS to normalize the number into the E164 format.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb964002%28office.12%29.aspx
    Phone number display for MOC contact:
    •-          OCS will not provide a contacts number unless it is correctly formatted to the E.164 standard.
    •-          The Address Book Service on OCS processes the contacts phone number and attempts to normalize it.
    •-          If correctly normalized then the number is inserted into the OCS address book.
    •-          Communicator will only display this normalized number if it is properly formatted in E.164 (+13125551234).
    •-          The E.164 standard defines an international numbering plan for public phone systems.
    •-          In the E.164 standard, each number contains a country code, an area code, and a subscriber number.
    •-          Each phone user has a globally unique number.
    •-          In Cisco UC Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator, phone numbers in E.164 format must begin with a plus character ("+").
    I have done some research to your first question. Can you please just go through the blog given below from the Microsoft.
    http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/schertz_jeff/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=26.
    It tells that If the numbers not in E.164 format then the number will not appear in office communicator if LDAP integrated. Can you please check with Microsoft to see their inputs on this.

  • Unsupported black in use error message for laserjet p2055

    Receiving "unsupported black in use" error message for laserjet p2055.  I replace the cartridge with a new one and the same message appears.  Any suggestions how to resolve this issue?

    Hi,
    Does it become active if you go to System Preferences > Accounts and Click on the current Account Pic and attempt to take a Pic ? (you do not have to Set it as the Pic)
    Go to System Preferences > Accounts
    Click on Your Account (in the list on the Left)
    The Right hand side will now show some options.
    Clicking the current Pic will give you access to Edit Pic
    One of the Options then is to take a Snapshot.
    Take a Snap Shot but you do not have to "Set" the Pic.
    This process will invoke VDCAssistant.
    Explain further about the PRAM Reset please.
    You should shut down the computer (Rather than trying to catch the Restart)
    You should then Start the Computer holding down the AppleALT+PR keys and keep holding them until you hear three Start Up0 Bongs (Chimes)
    This deletes some settings such as System Preferences Settings for the Volume (Sound) and Date and Time that may need resetting afterwards. (Others may also be effected such as Screen Saver)
    On Spotlight.
    This does not look or report on certain Folders.
    At the Hard Drive Level this is Library and Syatem
    In your Home Folder (Little House icon) it will not look in your Library.
    com.ecam.iusbcam.plist and com.apple.ichat.plist
    Are in your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
    The Others are in the /Library at Hard Drive Level
