Use of WDIslandLibrary30-debug.swc and sap-wd-flashDebug

I've had a look around the web and SDN in particular but cannot seem to find any concreate examples of using WDIslandLibrary30-debug.swc and the sap-wd-flashDebug parameter. The closest I got was this link below:

Where Thomas Jung mentions refering to the documentation for the Adobe debugger. I assume he means the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 debug version?
How would I debug using it? I am assuming that when calling the debug version of the flex app via the sap-wd-flashDebug parameter, that Flex builder or the debug version of Flash Player will be called if I add in some breakpoints? Am I correct in my assumption? I do not get a popup as suggested, the flex app just runs as normal.

Hi Ian,
From what I have been able to figure out, the parameter sap-wd-flashDebug only activates the WDA program to load up the embedded SWF file in debug mode, allowing a remote Flash/Flex debugger to connect to it. I do not think you can use ABAP workbench to debug what is happening inside the Flash island.
You can use NWDS with the Flex plug in libraries or Adobe's Flex Builder (3 or Flash Builder 4) to start up a remote debugger session (when setting up a debugging config instead of running a debugger session from your local build you can put in your WDA application URL there). What it will do is load up Flexbuilder in debugging mode, call your WDA application through the ABAP WebAS then connects to your adobe flash island and you can put breakpoints into your flex/actionscript code and debug your flash island.
I am not too sure what WDIslandLibrary30-debug.swc does but it might allow additional information to pass through to the flash island component? What I've been trying to find is how to view the WebDynpro -> Flash framework XML conversion so I can see how objects are being passed back and forth. I thought there was some way to print this out but could not find any documentation on how to enable it on the ABAP side.

We want to print PDF documents from SAP standard applications on our ERP landscape. Therefore we want to use standard PDF forms provided by SAP and also available in transaction SFP (e.g. form ISSR_NW670_RX_PDF).
Problem: When we try to create a PDF document from the application we get an error message:

I have also checked the trace (see below) and it seems that the system tries to get the form from the SolMan system and not from the ERP system. But the form is only installed on ERP system.
Are there any ideas how to solve this problem?

CVI under W2K crashes when using stop in debug mode and AOGenerateWaveforms

When using AOGenerateWaveforms to generate a sine wave. If you hit stop in debug the PC restarts. If you're using the same channel to generate a DC signal, it's fine. Seems to be the card accessing the dynamic memory I've set the waveform up in after you hit stop and the memory has been free'd.

This is sometimes the nature of the beast. When your program is running you are doing DMA transfers to locations in memory that have been setup by your operating system. Now if you stop your program, with out killing or stopping the DAQ device it will cause you problems in some cases. You need to call AOClearWaveforms before you stop your program.
If you do not stop the DAQ device, before stopping your program it will cause the DAQ device to write to memory that is no longer allocated for that process. In most cases windows detects this as an error and reboots the system, because it thinks a program has crashed and is now writing to memory locations out of its designated space.

Project-wide Debug flags and conditional execution

I've programmed in literally dozens of languages, and an still relatively new to Objective-C and even some C programming techniques. In Perl, for example, I often create a module-wide or project wide debug flag which may be a single boolean true or false or may be a binary flag word with each bit designated for a particular section or protocol I'm working on.
Then I only need to set the debug variable or flag once to enable a slew of debugging code or messages, and can easily turn them all on or just selected ones depending on the project.
In the code I would use some combination of:

if ( $debug ) {
print "some text";
$debug_state = 1;
$debug_files = 2;
$debug_images = 4;
$debug_all = 127;
$debug = $debug_state & $debug_images;

Yes, this is all runtime based, and I can see where it may slow down a production program if the debugging code were inside code which was executed many many times in a short period, but I often will leave this kind of code in production versions for things that should not happen, so that if somehow it does happen due to data or hardware fault, a nice audit trail exists to follow.
Yes, I know about NSLog and printf. The point here is whether to have to endlessly modify code with comment lines into active and dormant lines of code, or to build it once, and forget it except when it needs to be enabled, but it can be enabled without MODIFYING any code.

The typical way to do this is via a macro that is defined only if a compile-time debug flag is defined. You don't have to change any code, but then the debug statements do not exist in release mode.
You can keep the debug messages in your release code if you want to. The principle is the same. Instead of macros, use a global debug variable and a function. If the debug variable isn't set, the function just returns. If you are stickler about such things, you can create a singleton object.
Another option is to use syslog functions and use LOG_DEBUG.

ANE Native extension freezes app when debug=false and using non-interpreted IOS build

There’s a problem with Adobe Air iOS that is somewhat known, and that problem has an unknown variant that’s very tricky.
The problem is with linking optimized flash and ANEs. If the linker treats the ANE as an included SWC, calls to the library will hang the app. But it will work in the ADB simulator, and it will work in debug builds and in interpreted builds. It only manifests when a release build is attempted.
The known remedy for this problem is to specify the ANE code as extern to the app, usually via external-library-path argument instead of library-path option.
What I’ve learned is that even with correct linkage specified, our apps show this problem anyway. And the reason is that the calls between the app and the ANE happen in a non-first frame. A simple test case of a preloader on frame #1 and all the content on second frame will “intern” the symbols of the ANE, breaking the application; but only in non debug, non-interpreted builds, like ipa-test and ipa-ad-hoc.
Adobe, please detect and report this condition so others won’t all the problems to deal with that I’ve encountered. Thanks.

I seem to be running into freezes with my ANE's and it has been hard to troubleshoot and came across your post. I am using Flash CS6 so not sure how to apply your remedy. The options in CS6 for library path ANE's are 'Merged into Code' and 'Runtime Shared Library'. Currently it is merged, not sure if this is the same issue or not but I am trying everything here...

Application Link Enabling (ALE)
1.You distribute data using ALE if you want to communicate from one system to one or more other (mostly internal) systems.
2.ALE transfers data in IDoc format and uses the methods of tRFC for data transfer.
3.ALE enables the integration of business processes across several SAP or non-SAP systems.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
1.You use EDI if you want to exchange business application documents with an (external) partner system (for example, a customer or vendor).
2. The SAP system sends EDI messages in IDoc format to an EDI subsystem, where they are converted to a universal EDI standard (UN/EDIFACT or ANSI/X12).
3. This enables communication with non-SAP systems.
By definition, two partners are involved in the process in an EDI application scenario: The sender and the recipient of an EDI message

How to Set Up SSO Between IBM WebSphere and SAP EP Using JAAS

I have read the article on SDN called "How to Set Up SSO Between IBM WebSphere and SAP EP Using JAAS", which is also the name of my posting.
The reason why I post this is that I've tried to follow the links in the PDF to get the file WebsphereEpSsoLib.zip but I get an error 403, which tells me that the file is not there.
Does anybody know where this file went or can somebody tell me an alternative place to get this file?

Organization announcements Using CRM and SAP portal

Dear Gurus,
I am trying to build functionality for an organization to do their announcements using CRM 7.0, Once the announcement is published it should be visible on the SAP Portal. I am planning to do like this:
1) Create a campaign using mail form (Announcement content) and target group
2) Select the communication method as e-mail and I have done settings in SPRO to create the activity for an outgoing mail
3) Release the campaign and execute the campaign
4) Upon execution the CRM system will create the activity for an outgoing email (announcement)
4) Create an iView in portal
5) Pull the activities created on CRM and display on the portal iView
My questions are:
1) Is there any standard iView to do this
2) Is there any other standard functionality available to do this announcement using CRM and Portal
3) What are the lining table between Campaign activity and mail forms (e-mail content for announcement) - When I go activity search on CRM WEB UI I can see these activities and also I can see these activities on CRMD_orderadm_h, but unable to get the link tables between this activity and outgoing mail forms.

Using the Open Catalog Interface (OCI) between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM

Hello ASUG Community.
I'm working on an SAP-MDM project where we will configure the OCI interface between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM. The business requirement will be to punch out to SAP-MDM's catalog from SAP-ECC for expensed items (e.g., no material master record exists in SAP-ECC).
The data that will be returned to SAP-ECC will be purchase price info, material group, short text, & our global SAP-MDM item number.
The question I've been trying to design around is "where to store the SAP-MDM item number"?
I've looked into creating a custom filed on EKPO but now feel that a configured text field will be the best solution from an SAP-ECC point of view (less effort on the SAP-ECC side from a development perspective, no need to regenerate the EKPO table, etc.).
The question I'd like to pose to ASUG is.... Does anyone have experience or an opinion to offer using this functionality? It seems that I will have to code in a user exit or BAdi to insure that the SAP-MDM item numbers are returned to the appropriate text field on my POu2019s. Or can this be done using the standard OCI functionality?
I found OSS note 1347656 which references BADI "ME_CATALOG_INTERFACE" but I'm not sure if this right path to go down or if this would be the correct place to code non-conforming OCI mapping requiremetns.
Any insight would be most appreciated.

I would suggest you create a new field for this as you may require thois going forward for reporting as well. Text fields are difficult to report.

Connectivity between SQL Serevr 2008 and SAP BW using Microsoft Connector 1.0

Hi ALL
         I am trying to connect to SSIS 2008 to SAP BW using Microsoft Connector 1.0.
Following are stepes I performed.
1. Created RFC on SAP BW Server.
2. Created Prcess Chain in SAP BW.
3. Created SSIS Package using SAP BI Source. Here I set Execution Mode : P Trigger   Process Chain.
The process chain is executing fine on SAP BW Server, But it is unable to send back a
notification to SSIS package. And here my SSIS package failed.
I am getting following error message :
[SAP BI Source] Information: Process Start Process, variant Start Variant for MSBI has status Completed (instance D8Z84GJ2RLV7WCI2IYK5CZ1R3)
[SAP BI Source] Error: An internal exception occurred.
Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.SapBw.Connectivity.ERPException:
An error occurred during the dispatch of the incoming function. The last return code was "RFC_FAILURE".
Before this error I am getting following messages are :
[SAP BI Source] Information: Process Data Transfer Process, variant Z09_O101 -> Z09_H101 has status Active (instance DTPR_D8Z84GJ2RLVZKYTTUHZRFEG0V)
[SAP BI Source] Information: The component is waiting for a notification.
Is there any way to test the both the way connections? I mean SAP BW -- SSIS &                SSIS --- SAPBW.
Can any one please explain me entire connectivity architecture between SSIS and SAP BW using Microsoft Connector 1.0. (I mean how these RFC are working and how SSIS is pulling the data from SAP BW)

I am having the same problem. We actually loaded data a few times but now it does not work. It is amazing that we cannot find help for this problem. Has anyone been successful using the BI connector 1.1 to load data to a BI system using SSIS. I think
this had to do with either a DLL problem on the machine running SSIS or the Service Pack level of the BI system. I cannot find any documentation showing versions. I have looked through the documentation that was written back in 2008 but can't seem to
get it to work.

Hi Christy,
no, SAP does not directly leverage these functions.
But none the less, it is up to you to use these on your system. I regulary use the snapshot functionality when applying Support Packages. In case somehing goes wrong a snapshot is the easiest way to roll back the import process (not exactly the best choice when talking about production and users keep on working while importing).

OSB and SAP integration using XML web services

Hi Team,
We are designing solution for asynchronous and synchronous scenarios integration between OSB and SAP using web services.
Can you please provide some pointers which tells about how OSB and SAP integration works.
For an example:
If we are designing the above scenario between SAP PI and SAP ECC, we know the below communication protocols are avilable:
1.Proxy
2.RFC
3.IDOCs
And also we know how adapters will get connect.
Now ODB wants to connect to SAP to send and receive data. Please help me with information like:
1. Is Proxy, RFC or IDOCs are applicable for OSB as well?
2. How webservice scenarios can be implemented?

business connector has both IDOC and RFC adapters so it can
receive data from SAP (IDOC, RFC), send data to SAP (IDOC, RFC)
and pull data from SAP (RFC only)

Create addresses
The address maintenance of R/3 users is carried out either via the R/3 User Maintenance (Transaction SU01) or the Private office settings (Transaction SO12):
Address --> Other communication...
Selection of the required communication service.
Enter address.
Copy or save.
b) Configuration of SAPconnect (Transaction SCOT)
Set communication method
4.0 + 4.5: Goto --> Customizing --> Communication methods
as of 4.6: Settings --> Communication methods
Set the method of the required communication service to the value 'SAPCONNECT' and save the setting.
Customized the same for Internet mailing.
C) If you want to Transfer Table Structure Values from SAP R/3 to Web Services then
       1. Create BAPI and Transfer whichever things you want.(Note: The Structure
           of BAPI should be similar to Web Structure (Datatypes).
       2. Create a BDC and Schedule it in the Background.

There are standard templates in HCI data sources.
e.g. 1) Customer Master data template is SOP_MD_CustomerMaster for extracting master data from SAP ECC and load it to S&OP
KNVP is the table for customer in ECC from that you can select the fields as required
