User groups in ABAP Queries

Hi Friends,
My doubt is regarding ABAP Queries. when we create user groups , in which table and field does the data holds, which will be useful in retrieving the data.
Please help me ASAP, as this would get break through in solving severity 2 ticket.
With thanks and regards
umapathy

Hello,
The data is available in 'AQGDBBN'.
For further details you can go thru tables with pattern 'AQ*'.

  • Creating user groups using SQ03.

I am going to make a change to a already existing query 01 in the user group /SAPQUERY/AM. I am not a query expert, in fact this is the second query that I am modifing. I am reading some documentation that the first thing that I have to do is create a user group. from what I am reading, the user group will contain the users that are allowing to modify queries. Since our users do not use this tool, I am the only one that creates and modifies queries. I think I am going to create a user group and that my user-id will be the only one in the group - correct? will I create one user group and and queries that I make changes to in the future user this user group or do I create user groups based on the users group that are defined by SAP. example - If I am changing a query in /SAPQUER/AM  and in /SAPQUERY/AU - would I create 2 user groups  1 for AM and 1 for AU or would I create only 1 user group and use it for both queries.
After this, I think I have to copy the infoset (SQ02)and the query (SQ01) to custom names (names starting with Z) and then attaching the parts to the new user group.

    Hi Timothy
Typically you want to create user groups for functional areas or grouped reports/queries. You can enter as many users as needed into a user group and only those who have the checkbox next to their name in the user group screen will have authorization to create/modify queries in the infosets where the usergroup is assigned. If you are creating 2 usergroups with the same users and authorizations then that is redundant but if the list of users is different or the authorizations may change then it would make sense to have 2 usergroups. You should have some naming convention to follow when creating the queries but the Z prefix is not required.

  • How to restrict a user group of SQ01 for only execution for some users

    Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to restrict the access to SQ01 transaction for some users. I would like that these users have only execution access to some queries associated with an user group.
Do I have to associate the user group to the users I want to have access to it? How can I do it=
Do I have to associate the queries created on SQ01 to the users? or it is enough to assign the users to the user group where the queries are defined?
Do I have to associate the infosets created on SQ02 to the users? or it is enough to assign the users to the user group to which the infosets are associated?
       Thank you,
       Luz D.

I suggest you do a web search on SQ01 and SQ02. That'll bring along SQ03 as well.
There's so much information available on the web that there's no reason to repeat it here.

  • How to find out which abap queries were executed by a user

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Is there a way to find out which abap queries were executed by an end user in the recent past??
1.I tried using the t-code "stat" BUT:
dont seem to be getting any results even though I put the start time almost 2 months back.
2.Also when using STAT, I give the report name of the query in the program field but it seems to truncate it.
Any ideas how can I find out which abap queries were executed by the end user.
thanks a lot, I'll make sure to award points for your help.

STAT will give you the information for a limited period of time and is limited to the server which you are logged onto yourself. Beyond 24 hours it is of even less use even if you change the selection screen values.
If you want it for a period way back into the past, then you need to use ST03N.
There are at least 2 dependencies and 1 confusion:
1 dependency) The length of period is determined by the size (length) of the file. You can change this in ST03N (default 50MB) via the menu settings.
2 dependency) The stat collector jobs need to be scheduled to write the information to ST03N (once per hour is a legal requirement in some non-banana republic countries).
1 confusion) There is an obscure function which converts a report submit to a transaction name (there is not much difference anyway) and an even more obsure one which filters what ST03N will record and therefore whether you can read it. You can (un)filter these things away if you search the SAP Marketplace for the term "MONI".
What is of particular value from this control is that you can even detect a submission of an abap which only existed temporarily.
Also note that having this information is potentially very powerfull with respect to the users (some of them are human too), so you should expose and use it responsibly.
You should also ensure that only responsible users / auditors have access to S_TOOLS_EX.

    Hello Sunil,
The problem is that I have hundreds of users to maintain user groups.
found out that it is possible to assign user group to role and role to user groups. implementing hr authorization with in-direct assignment of auth. So if I could use sq10, user groups could also be link to position in the org chart.
sq10 does allow you to assign a user group to a role but when you assign the role to a user and the user runs a query, it reports that no user group has been assigned.
Suspect that there must be a parameter or switch that is not turned on

  • Look for queries that belong to user group

    Hi guys
I went to transaction code SQ01 to look for other user queries and after I type the user group I am not able to see the qryes for this particular group.
Should I have to do something extra that I have missed ?
    Thanks

    Hello-
In SQ01 menu please go to EDIT --> Other User Group and select the user group you want to. If you maintain more than one query area, go to ENVIRONMENT - -> Query Areas and select the query area you want to see the report in and then you can look at the user groups as mentioned above.
    Hope this helps.

  • Assigning Search Queries to User Groups

IN CRM PCUI, the user has the option to save any search query as his private query. Through Trans. CRMC_BL_COPY_QUERIES, this query can be made public (available to all users).
Our requirement is to be able to make the private search query of the user available to only a set of users and not to all users. Can the user groups created through Trans SQ03 be used in some way to meet this requirement?
Is there any relation/ linking between the queries created in PCUI and those in GUI (thru Trans SQ01)? Can the queries created through PCUI be modified thru SQ01? Or alternatively, can the queries created thru SQ01 be seen and used in PCUI?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vishal

    Hi Vishal,
As far as i know there is no such functionality available so far.
A possible workaround may be to copy these queries to the relevant users , but then it is as good as the users creating and saving these queries for themselves.
    Regards,
    abhishek.

  • Get user statistic by abap user group?

    Hi,
I need to get number of users visited portal by abap user group?
Is it possible to do so using portal activity reports?
Activity report has only option for user separating by abap rols.
    great thanks for all.

Not quite the intent I think.
If we view the hierarchy of nodes as a way to manage a hierarchy of resources specific to your program (think of hierarchical contexts) then I want to be able to put/get objects by key (and not just strings as keys). I don't see any API for this so I would propose augment set/getUserData with getResources() that returns an observable map unless there is another way to do this now.

  • Transport user groups/infosets/queries from test system to productive

    Hello experts,
i'm trying to transport user groups/infosets/queries but it seems it doesn't work.  For example, i select the infoset, then the transport button.
    I choose EXPORT
    then Transport Infosets
    I type the infoset name
but i cannot understand if i should change the "IMPORT OPTION-REPLACE".
Can anyone guide me with this procedure?
    Thank you in Advance
    N.

    Hi Nantia,
Step 1. Run RSAQR3TR in 'old' system. Select EXPORT and specify the objects to be transported.
(System includes these in an automatically created transport request)
Step 2. Release this transport and request it be transported to 'new' system.
(This results in the entries being populated in transport table AQTDB in 'new' system).
Step 3. Run RSAQR3TR in 'new' system. Select IMPORT and tick the Overwrite checkbox. Specify the transport number in the field labelled 'dataset with imports'.
(RSAQR3TR gives the message that stuff has been imported OK).
Step 4. In my example I still couldn't find the queries, so ran RSAQR3TR one more time, this time specifying 'Copy Standard Area -> Global Area'.

  • Restricting Queries in HR: Compensation Management User Group

I am trying to restrict the Infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_XX_CM_03, which contains salary/compensation queries, assigned to User Group /SAPQUERY/H0, from being accessed by anyone.  In SQ03, user group /SAPQUERY/H0, there are no users assigned but users with access to SQ01 can select the user group /SAPQUERY/H0  and access the queries tied to infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_XX_CM_03.  Why are users able to access the infosets of the user group when no users are assigned to the user group?

Turns out that security authorization for access to SQ01 had an S_QUERY value of 02 which allows for full change.  With this value the user group/user assignments done via sq03 did not work.  Setting S_QUERY to 23 allows for user group assignment to restrict access in sq01

  • User Groups for Queries

    All,
I have a user that gets a message stating that they are not assigned to any user group when using t-code SQ00.
I have checked and the profile they are assigned to has rights to run SQ00 and I have also checked SQ03 and I do have her assigned to query groups.
Am I missing something?  I've been administering users for years and have never had one with a problem like this.  All the usual areas are fine.
    Thanks for you help!

i have to apologize - i didn't read your post carefully - my mistake.
does this also happen when parameter AQB in SU3 is set to a default user-group?
have you checked whether infosets are assigned to that particular user-group?

i'm editing this: i have just been testing. is the infoset assigned to that usergroup properly generated?

I tried every thing but facing same problem.
Could anyone please help me out .
    Thanks

I actually assigned the user group to a role in SQ10.  The user is assigned to the role.  I also created a new post under Security which has more detail:

  • Queries about Oracle User Groups

    Hi,
I am planning to move to US in few months. I would like to join in any Oracle user group and attend sessions from industry experts.
I would like to get some advices on
    1) Should i join in IOUG (Independent Oracle Users Group) or
    2) Should i prefer to join in the user group where i will be working?
I checked IOUG website and found there are many benefits and i can even view webcasts if i can attend sessions directly.
Can someone explain me which one should i prefer or how people are generally enrolling themselves for these users group.
    Thanks
    Sarayu

As in anything Oracle, "it depends."
Certainly the IOUG big yearly conference is worthwhile for most people. If you have to choose between that and Open World, it depends what you want. The best way is to get expert enough at something to be a presenter at both, that has both career and potentially remunerative rewards. But you need your employer to support you. Simply preparing for a presentation can make you more of an expert than you would have believed.
Local groups vary - some wind up just being mouthpieces for vendors or certain possibly silly methodologies, others are as good as the big conferences. All one can say is "go and see."
My personal opinion, having been going to user conferences for 30 years, is they can be the best deal around. But you have to put something into it to get anything out of it. People like to help you, and appreciate it if you help them.

  • How to change user group of a query (sq01)

    Hi,
I'm working with SAP Queries (SQ01) and I don't know how can I change the user group assignation of a query. We did only one user group for all users and queries and know in order to arrange it a bit we've created three user groups.
We know how to assign users to new user groups but for each query of the old group we neet to move it to one of the new user groups, how could we do this?
    thanks in advance

Step-by-step guide for creating ABAP query
    http://www.sappoint.com/abap/ab4query.pdf
ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
