User Login Page

Hi all,
Good day,I need your help.
I am really new to APEX.
I would like to have a user table name 'tbl_user' with 2 columns (user_id, password).
Some dummy data were created, and I do some PL/SQL coding inside the default login page of a newly created application (page 101).
======================================================================
DECLARE
v_USERID tbl_USER.USER_ID%TYPE;
v_PASSWORD tbl_USER.PASSWORD%TYPE;
BEGIN
select tbl_USER.PASSWORD into v_PASSWORD from tbl_USER where USER_ID_ID= :P101_USERNAME;
if v_PASSWORD=:P101_PASSWORD then
OWA_UTIL.redirect_url ('f?p='||:APP_ID||':2:'||:SESSION);
end if;
======================================================================
Although I key in the correct username and password, the page 101 still prompting me invalid credential.
Please kindly advice.
p/s: How can we create a new user registration page instead?
Regards,
Golden

Hi Sam,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
Your understanding is right. When I use the those user I created using 'sys' account, the application is able to login.
As from your explanation, how can we control the login page by referring to the "tbl_user" which is created by ourselves?
The process is just works like a normal login page:
1) This login page can let the end user to register themselves. The data will be stored inside the table "tbl_user"
(user_id and password)
OR
For those registered user, they key in the user id and password, if the password is correct, it will direct them
to certain page.
Hence, the major problem is how can we ensure the typed in login details is referred to our user-defined table instead of the default application authentication?
Thanks for advance.

    hello I'm trying to create a page in Captivate4 that users can type in thier names and have captivate check the progress of the user but the help files are not much help here

    To find the topic I mentioned, open the Help (it is an AIR-application), go to the Chapter 'Variables and Advanced Actions'. This chapter has a Tutorial on scripting. In this tutorial you will:
    create a user variable to store the username
    ask for the user name in a Text Entry Box and storing this name in the created user variable
    use the username in a Text Caption, p.e. to congratulate the user on his progress/score
    I do not understand why you want to put 12 Multiple Choice questions on one page. Normally you make one question (can contain more sentences for multiple choice) per slide. You can choose to have an indication for the user after each answer (p.e. congratulations for a right answer). At the end you will have automatically a score slide, where you can add your proper Text Caption (with indication of user name), a Success or a Fail Caption etc. From you text I presume that you are not testing and scoring a software-skill.
    I'm sorry but your goal is still not verry transparant to me, I hope you will find the Tutorial and eventually try to explain your Quiz workflow.
    Just trying to help, Lilybiri

  • End User Login Message

    Hi Folks,
    Our production IDM setup has 3 IDM instances sharing the same repository. The IDM End user is used for setting passwords in IDM and LDAP.
    Recently, couple of users have reported this error while trying to log in into IDM end user login page.
    "Your password has expired for account xxxxxx. Please change it now.
    Item User:xxxxxx was not found in the repository, it may have been deleted in another session."
    I had seen an earlier posting on this but there were no answers. Does any have a clue why this happens?
    Any lead will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Suvesh

    Hi shivjansi,
    This is normal behavior for the service desk.  It gives end-users a limited UI compared to the ticket processors.  Unfortunately the features of the limited UI are hardcoded so you cannot configure the UI so that end-users get two tabs while a ticket processor gets all six tabs. This may change in SolMan 7.1, let's hope so
    SolMan determines if a user is an end-user by checking the auth object
      CRM_TXT_ID
          Activity <ACTVT>: 02
          Text ID <TEXTID>: SU15
    If the auth check for this auth object fails, then the user is considered to be an end-user and they get the limited UI.
    Good luck!
    Jon

  • Login page issue

    Hi,
    When I  open a webpage , NAC login page does not display or hit. I have enabled the login page in CAM, I dont have DNS server in this setup.
    Folllowing things i have done :-
          1, Trunk link to Untrusted Port of CAS allowed only Authentication vlan(eg 9)
          2, Trunk Link to Trusted Port of cas allowed only Access vlans and management Vlan of CAS.(99,218)
          3,
                   eth0: IP is 10.10.10.252
                      DG:10.10.10.1(ip address of SVI218)
                   eth1:-ip is 1.1.1.1
                      DG:1.1.1.2 ( there is no SVI with tis ip address)
          3, Added CAS to CAM with L2OOB  Virtual Gateway and configured managed Subnet and Vlan mapping.
          4, Enabled user login page in CAM.
          5, Switch management :-SNMP configuration on CAM and Switch( working fine)
    I used to type CAS management ip address in Address bar of Internet Explorer from Untrusted side, but no responds . any thing im missing ???

    Dear Faisal,
    many thanks for your responds
    I am getting ip address from DHCP on client (authentication vlan9, access vlan99 and ip address got from dhcp is 10.10.99.11). when we assign same subnet ip address for eth0 and eth1(OOB virtual gatway), we will loose access to CAS. We can have same subnet ip addresses, if CAS in IB virtual gateway. i have configured following things in Manged subnet and Vlan mapping.
    Managed subnet :-
         ip address    :10.10.99.4
         subnetmask : 255.255.255.0
         vlan             : 9
    Vlan Mapping:-
           Vlan mapping is enabled
                 Untrusted vlan:- 9
                 Trusted Vlan  :- 99
    Thanks & Regards,
    Fahad Salim.

  • NAC-OOB L2- Authentication Login page dosn't appear!

    Hi All,
    We have 2 NAC managers and 2 NAC servers. We have a failover solution. Our deployment is OOB Layer 2 Central Virtual Gateway. We have successfully added NAS into NAM and we did the required configuration in NAM like configuring VLAN mapping (from the untrusted vlan 913 to the trusted vlan 910), adding managed subnet, switch profile, port profile, adding switches (cisco 3560) to NAM, configuring user roles, local users and also user login page.
    Then we have tested it by connecting PC to the controlled port on the switch.
    The configuration of the controlled port was on VLAN 910 and after connecting the PC, it's converted to VLAN 913 then we successfully got an IP from the dhcp which is configured on the switch but the authentication login page didn't appear! and also, when we disconnect the PC from that port, the configuration isn't converted from vlan 913 to vlan 910 so we have to change it manually everytime to do our tests.
    What should we do to let the login page appear and also automatically let NAM change the port configuration after disconnecting the PC?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Help in Changing the Login page

    Hi,
    I am new to this field.I have a requirement like follows " Need to remove the feature (forgot user id?) in both the admin and user login page.I have searched all the JSP's but with no result.Can someone help me in finding where can find these links so that i can remove them .
    Thanks in advance.

    Good news, the answer is very simple.
    In the System Configuration object, you will find the following piece of code:
    <Attribute name='disableForgotUserId'>
    <Boolean>false</Boolean>
    </Attribute>
    You have to modify more then one entry for User and Admin interface.
    To modify this object go to /idm/debug/, List Objects -> Configuration and fin System Configuration.

  • Auctions & Save User Login

    Hi,
    I want to start building an Auction online, I never did that before.
    User must be loged in when he wants to make a bid, which means I need a user login page, after that if the user is exist, he can browse the all the auctions and make bids, where to store the user profile? Can I store it in a session ?
    anybody did that before ?

    yeah, you can :)
    I did so for my site
    if you have the user profile in an object (i.e. an appropriate javabean) youc an easily store it in a session with a command like
    session.setAttribute("user", "userProfile");
    where user is the sttribute name and userProfile is an instance of your javabean class.
    Then to get it you can do so:
    userProfile = (BeanName)session.getAttribute("user");
    note the cast made with (BeanName): you must do it cause session stores only class Object
    remember to configure the session expire time in the web.xml file of tomcat
    hope it helps :)

    Try clearing your cache, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How to clear the cache Instructions here]. Then, try going to [https://accounts.google.com Google Accounts]. If there is currently an account singed in, sign out, then back in. After that, try going to Google Adwords.

  • Redirecting user to login page after session expiry

    Hi,
    Default session expiry implementation in sap EP6.0 doesn't work properly. To overcome this, we have implemented one component where we check the idle time and throw the user back to the login page if the idle time has exceeded the session expiry period. This component has been added to desktop inner page as an iView. Following is the logic put in this component.
    IAuthentication ia = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    ia.logout(httpRequest, httpResponse);
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    We are successfully getting the login page after session expiry. Issue is, our portal server is running on 11111 port. We cannot change this to 80 on unix because of unix limitations for the port number. So we have put one apache web server before our portal server. Apache web server is listening on port 80 and forwarding the request to our portal server.
    Now when user is redirected to the login page, url being shown in the browser is http://<host_name>:11111/irj/portal but I am expecting http://<host_name>/irj/portal (without port). I have tried putting the full url in sendRedirect() method but that too doesn't work.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
    Let the URL be relative in the sendRedirect i.e.
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    However since you have a Reverse proxy in front, the response header for redirect will not contain the address of the reverse proxy in this case, your servername without port. You have to properly configure your reverse proxy so that the HTTP Headers are changed properly before sending the response to the users.
    Check this URL,
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypassreverse
    This gives you the details on configuring your apache.
    Hope this helps.
    Ankur
    P.S. If this helps please reward points.

  • Creating login page - direct users to a unique file based on unique id?

    Hello - I am in the process of creating a login page that will direct users to a unique page based on their unique id.  I would normally go to Server Behaviors>User Auth>Log In User, but that gives me the option of browsing only one file for all usernames and that's not what I need.  So basically, if the user logs in with the Caterpillars username, it takes them directly to the Caterpillars page and if they log in with the Butterflies username, it takes them to the Butterflies page (yes, it's a preschool with goofy classroom names!).  If it matters, I'm using MySql and the page is .php.  I tried to upload the php, but it gave me an error "the content type of this attachment is not allowed" - not sure what that's all about - sorry.
    Thanks in advance!!

    I was trying to do the latter - store the path for each individual file (catepillars.html, butterflies.html, etc) in the database with the login info.
    My problem is that I can't get it to direct to that page in the code.  My understanding is that I have to tell it in within this code <?php echo $row_MM_Username['login']; ?> that if username is caterpillars then they go directly to caterpillars.html...
    For your desire you don't need extra database fields, recordsets, session variables or anything else if you want to direct username to a static username.html file
    Instead use a dynamic META redirect in <head> of success.php page based on session variable for Username and append .html to the username.
    <META http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http://example.com/<?php echo $SESSION['MM_Username']; ?>.html">
    You could add the show if users is logged in server behavior to success.php and wrap the meta redirect in it so that if the user is logged in then you are redirected to username.html or just add a restrict access SB so that you can not visit success.php (and be redirected to username.html) unless you are logged in.
    Does that solve your problem?
    It may have been easier to explain if your original inquiry mentioned that you wanted logged in users to go to a static .html page based on their username like username.html (sighs). FWIW I would still follow my original recommendation of using one dynamic file to display different users info on one page because as mentioned you only have to maintain one file vs. multiple static files.

  • Login Page coming for Anonymous User

    Hi All,
    we have configured anonymous user for our portal. Created a role for anonymous access - added pages and iViews under that. All the iViews and pages are modified with authentication scheme property to Anonymous.
    Now when we access the portal with the url http://host:port/irj its showing the login box in the top part of the page and in the bottom part its showing the anonymous role which we created.
    Let me tell you what we have done...
    Created role, iViews for Anonymous role, set the authentication property to 'Anonymous'.
    In Visual Admin-> Server-> Services-> UME Provider set the variable ume.login.anonymous_user.mode to 1.
    Variable ume.login.basicauthentication to 1.
    Variable ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids to Guest.
    Then we have updated the index.html file under <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instance_number>\j2ee\cluster\serverX\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root .. we changed
    <b><body onload="location.replace('portal' + document.location.search)"></body></b>
    to <b><body onload="location.replace('servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.anonymous' + document.location.search)"></body></b>
    But now when a guest user accesses the portal http://host:port/irj it gived the strange screen (logon + content page) as I described earlier.
    Please let us know where are we missing...
    thanks & regards,
    Shubhadip

    Hi,
    1 .  I have created a iView and set the authentication scheme anonymous.
    2.  Also I created a role and added the iview to a role.
    3. The role has only 1 iview.  The entry pt is yes  for the iview
    4.  The role has permissions of end user for anonymous user.
    5 I checked the masthead iview also.. It aslo has authentication scheme anonymous
    When I try accessing the iView  in the form <http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fmyfolder!2fmyiView
    I am able to view it without any login..
    But when the url is accessed <http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous
    I see a login page in the Detailed navigation..
    Please help me solve this problem ..
    Thanks,
    Preeti

    end checkPassword;
    Now, I want to use this function to authenticate the user in the application but I don't know how to do it...
    I create a login page by default... what do I have to change?
    Thanks in advance

    CD,
    Edit the authentication scheme's Authentication Function attribute to be:
    return your_package_name.checkPassword;
    You might also want that logic to allow for upper/lower case variations of the entered username.

  • Unknown User account appears on login page

    Hi,
    Recently on my Login Page an unknown user has appeared on my computer. When I go to administer accounts the unknown user does not appear.
    It has it's own avatar too...a human shadow with outer space in back of it.
    I recently set up a myspace.com account, but that should not have done it.
    I cannot get this thing off my computer and I fear I am being hacked.
    Can anyone help me get rid of this thing and/or explain to me what it is?
    Thanks, RWard

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!!
    I went to the link you noted but was unable to find 'security' in the linkTrue, all it says there is
    The root user should only be used for specific administration or monitoring tasks. After completing a task as the root user, log out of Mac OS X and log back in using a normal or administrator user account.
    Disable root access if you do not use it often.However, if anyone does manage to hack into your machine, he can do more damage if there is an enabled root account (he still has to guess the password of course). If root is disabled, that's another barrier.
