User name on iTouch and iPad

I have an iTOUCH that my wife plays Word with friends on, but now she wants to use the iPAD for the same game. How do I delete the user name that the iTOUCH uses so I can create the same user name on the iPAD?

Hi,
Connect the devices to your computer. Launch iTunes.
Under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window just click once on the device and type in a name.
You can rename the iPad and the itouch as needed.

Go to http://appleid.apple.com.
To clarify, the mere act of changing the Apple ID on the device will not remove any content. But you cannot update the apps or re-sync them if they get deleted without the old Apple ID. It may be best to download them again with the new ID.

Running PC with W7 x64. Upgrdaed to iTunes 10.7. Upgraded iPhone 4s to IOS 6. Caqnnot backup. iTunes says session cannot be started. Does not recognize apps on device. Device shoes up on WiFi then disappears. Does not work either on USB. ITouch and iPad .

After upgeading to iTunes 10.7 on my PC with W7 x64 and IOS 6 on my iPhone 4s, I cannot backup. It says sesson cannot be started. Also cannot recognize apps on iPhone. Further, with WiFi and powered on, the device apperas briefly in iTunes then disappears. Same for iTouch and iPad with IOS 5. How do I resove this? More importantly, how does Apple resolve it? It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

I had to have my PC wiped clean and the OS re-loaded. It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
- Restoring the iPod

When you connect your iTouch to iTunes, open the device by clicking on the iTough button on the left of the screen (do this after you've backed it up). Then when open, you can go into apps, music, photos, etc and check or uncheck whatever you want on your iTough. The same applies to your iPad. After backup, you open the device and check what you want on the iPad.

You can't sync from an iPod to an iPad (or vice versa). If the videos are not on your computer's iTunes then you can copy them from the iPod to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) and you can then sync them from your computer to your iPad (depending upon what country that you are in then you might also be able to re-download them directly on the iPad via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app).

Could not get into any of my mail, on the web or on Mail on my mac. After a phone call to automated support through Yahoo through ATT, I was given a temporary password and was able to reset my Yahoo password and get email on the internet. I still cannot open my Mail Account on either my iMac or MacBook Pro. I cannot get into Mail, period. My sign in keeps popping up and it keeps telling me that my user name or password is incorrect. I tried my old password, the temporary password and the new password. Nothing is working, I cannot receive or send anything in Mail. Mail is Frozen. If I want my email, I must go to the web and sign into Yahoo Mail.

When you were entering your new password in mac mail for your Yahoo account, you didn't perchance change the user name from [email protected] to just name without the @att.net? I only ask because I've done that, and att.yahoo mail requires a fully qualified [email protected] for access.
In mail, you might click on window on the menu bar, then connection doctor. On the account with the red dot next to it, it will tell you why it can't connect, and if you click on it, you'll be taken to where you can fix it.

How can I manage an Itunes library with an Itouch and Ipad?

What I mean is, my mom has an 8gb itouch, and a 32gb ipad. So I want to help her make cuts so all her music fits on the smaller itouch. So how would I go about doing this? Do I uncheck everything in her itunes library that I don't want synced? I tried doing this, but the amount of space it takes doesn't change no matter how many songs I uncheck. Am I doing this wrong?

I've had the 2nd generation Apple TV since this past October when it was released and it has worked fine until I recently changed my Apple User Name (email address). After changing my user name my Apple TV and iPhone 4 no longer find my shared network. Home sharing is enabled on all devices, including my Sony Vaio Laptop, iPhone4, and Apple TV 2nd generation. Everything else has remained constant, including service provider, router, modem, and internet security (Trend Micro). Also, my library is on a networked hard drive, which didnt seem to make a difference before, but I figured I'd mention it. Any thoughts?

Thank you for the information. He confirmed that the ID and password are the same on every device. This only started happending when he changed his User Name with Apple.
--Itunes is running on a Windows Vista Machine (Sony Vaio)

--He has an iPhone 4
Can you tell me more about the technologies that apple uses to make "homesharing" work? Do you think he may need to remove then re-install Bonjour?
